If you can tear yourselves away from your glossy new copies of Uncharted 3 for just ten minutes, you’ll see there’s a brilliant new episode of Access waiting for you on the PlayStation Store.
Bethesda’s soaring RPG epic, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim lights up Game of the Week, complete with gorgeous new footage to ogle – including plenty of dragons and big, shouty magic spells (fans of cute rabbits, be warned).
There’s the usual news round-up and PlayStation Store highlights to look forward to as well, the latter including a look at upcoming PSN title Hydrophobia and the vampire-themed Festival of Blood pack for Infamous 2.
Elsewhere, be sure to soak up the Battlefield 3 multiplayer advice with DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach, and make doubly sure you check out Nolan North clambering about Sony’s offices and strangling Access cameraman Dan Read as he shows off his real-life Nathan Drake skills.
Access is available every Wednesday from the PlayStation Store, free to download for all UK PSN users.

“the vampire-themed Festival of Blood pack for Infamous 2″
dont refer to it like that, thats why people keep asking if its add on content for infamous 2 its not in anyway a pack.

Another good episode of Access, one thing I want to ask though. Are all these Skyrim vids representative of PS3 gameplay? Because so far Bethesda haven’t used the words “Skyrim” and “PS3″ in the same sentence. We’re a week away and there have been no screenshots, no videos and no previews of the PS3 version at work.
Can someone from the Access team please confirm if these vids are legit, or are they samples sent by Bethesda?

Give me 5, I’ll find out for you

Hey TrueMerton,
The footage in this episode is supplied by Bethesda and we’re told it’s “non-platform specific”.
That probably doesn’t help much, it’s all I’ve got for you right now I’m afraid!

I enjoyed Festival Of Blood for how long it lasted!
Haven’t tried Hydrophobia out yet, but I have plenty of time for that!
Uncharted 3 & BF3 are fantastic. If I had the time, I would have picked up Batman Arkham City too!
Enjoy these episodes

The price of Battlefield 3 is 600 Danish kroner (£51,6) in the Danish PlayStation store, so I don’t think many will get it up from there.

Cheers SamuraiGirl! A hell of a lot of blood, sweat, tears and broken DUALSHOCKs go into making this – always great to know you guys enjoy it.
We’ve got ourselves a shiny new YouTube channel now by the way, so if you miss it on the Store you can subscribe and always be notified when a new episode is available: http://www.youtube.com/user/PlaystationAccess

Hey Muster, thanks for that. Much appreciated.
So they’re passing off video from an internal developer build as gameplay footage, you realise that this means Bethesda are using the PSN to create a false image of their game on the platform right? Might want to consider getting equipment for doing your own gameplay captures for future episodes of Access to avoid any messy situations later on.
In case anyone was wondering, I was suspicious because I’ve had prior dealings with Bethesda and first hand experience of how they deceive and mislead their fanbase (The Fallout 3 DLC Debacle) but other’s won’t be aware of their past form and may expect Skyrim to appear like it does in the video, which it almost certainly won’t if Fallout 3 is any indication.
It’s set for release next week, so we know it passed cert. Let’s just hope that it passed legitimately and wasn’t give a free pass like the Fallout games despite numerous glitches, save corrupting bugs and memory leaks.

Hey TrueMerton,
I for one am horrendously excited for Skyrim! I sank 120 hours into Oblivion (which was a CLASS game!).
Personally I look to Oblivion to get an idea of where this game has come from, rather than Fallout.
As for getting our own equipment, we have it! It’s just that sometimes developers like to ensure that all publishers use the same footage of their game so that nothing gets spoilered.

Would be nice if you opened it up to other countries aswell. I understand that you don´t want to have to translate it, but surely that´s not really necessary. Most people in europe understand english, at least here in Norway.

And again no PS3 footage of Skyrim. I fail to see why Sony puts up a 2.5 minute, no news worthy, commercial of this game when Bethesda takes money from MS to give timed exclusive content and kicks Sony in the face. The fact you accept non PS3 makes Sony looks stupid and non caring for it´s customers. I cancled my preorder and await reviews and comperson vidios but probaly wait 6 months for the complete edition when I´m still interrested.

Well done on another nice show, I watch them every week ans like the content and chat.
I do agree with comment 1 and the Skyrim comments though.
Also it’d be good if you could subscribe to it as a plus users and get each show auto downloaded?
Although I suppose this wouldn’t give you an idea of how many people actually actively download and watch the show?
