I loved and still do love FFXIII, so this game has undeniably been on my radar.
I’m looking forward to finding out more. Also I can’t wait for more on Versus XIII, and hopefully one day Kingdom Hearts 3.

I think you guys sold out for real with
a) FF13 was not as good compared to the older games, It felt like it was made just to please the dumb spoonfed casual gamer audience.
b) You already have announced DLC before the game was released, which means you’re holding back content that should be on the disc from the start.
Bargain Bin for me when it comes to this game.

Just give us Kingdom hearts 3 for god sake.

Crystal Edition preordered the day it was announced! This is my most anticipated game next year. I loved FFXIII and with some small tweaks in the combat system and less linearity which this seems to offer this has a lot of potential.

@Chocobo115
they alrdy made so much DLC that it´s going 2 last till summer 2012 so that just means a incomplete game again

Very nice trailer. Shame that if the games anything like 13 itll be a poor final fantasy game. Here’s a franchise that needs to be taken back to the 1990′s drawing board.

Wake me up when you’re about to release Versus XIII.

Posted on 23 November, 2011 at 5:33 pm by VictorAnalogy
Hope this is as good as X-2 (one of the best combat systems imho).
As for DLC, it’s not held back, it’s separate content, the game will be complete on its own, if you want the extra content, you buy it, if you don’t, you don’t. Simple as.
I prefer DLC that is planned from the start to integrate with the game, rather than some hastily thrown together extras. It makes for a better overall experience.

pre-ordered as soon as i heard about the release date. XIII was one of the best final fantasy games ever made, it may not have been like ff4 through 9 but the whole point of the franchise is bringing something new to the table every time, not just re-hashing a bunch of stuff from older games just because thats what people are familiar with. XIII broke away and became something different, excellent battle system and a really gripping story, although i agree the linear style was somewhat disappointing but it suited me as i prefer to play through the story before going back through for the extras.
As someone whos been playing FF games for nearly 15 years and has clocked over 200 hours on XIII alone i can honestly say that this is the most anticipated title of the decade for me, thank you Square-Enix for keeping FF alive

CAN NOT WAIT!
XIII Had an awesome Story to it, yea the linear play was a little meh, but who cares when the Story is beyond great?!
Seriously Feb can’t get her quick enough!!

To Adrian Arnese Senior Brand Manager, SQUARE ENIX
Very disappointed in Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII/2 as no Level system
Final Fantasy Type 0 on PSP spot on.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII spot on epic best FF since FF VII as they have level systems
Square Enix don’t forget its us fans who buy the games who make you money.
Us the fans feel we can’t buy Final Fantasy XIII/2 reason theres no level systems.
add old style FF systems with new style systems yes an all out sale FF games.

So, you already know that FFvXII is going to be epic even though it isn’t even near its release date, let alone completion? Impressive.
Anyways, looking forward to this and Versus XIII.

Yes thanks DeltaCactuar
SQUARE ENIX doesn’t know iv tested Final Fantasy Versus XIII as i know all story how Lord Noctis last of his race defending his people’s way reason hes a popular fellow a royal guy, Stella a woman with evil plans to take power away from Lord Noctis for her own gain using her knowledge and charms at Lord Noctis to win his loyal friendship and love but Stella is evil as he finds out. Game play of Final Fantasy Versus XIII has free roam to move about wile waiting to attack just like FF VII D O C ps2 game.

that FFv13 vid if true on PS4, i will say this some heads will roll for this at SE why because 1 word that word is misleading.
Why it is because SE & sony said & E3 & part of sony conference that FFv13 be on PS3.
it looks like all the spin now = a cheap knock off.
here some other news FF14 set for 2013 with new graphics etc again possibly on PS4 that word again “misleading” as it was suppose for Ps3, part of SCEA conference at E3 2/3 years back.
22
Posted on 23 November, 2011 at 8:33 pm by Skookie30
& since a SE rep is here i ask you a question don’t hype this game up i‘m getting it day 1 but hypeing a game spoils the story, also it looks to me.
since Square enix europe is so hyping this game up & releasing Chrono trigger on iPhone it clearly hasn’t no intrest in releasing Ps1 classics from it‘s back log.

Still longing for Final Fantasy VII remake maybe for playstation 4 in 2015
Best Final Fantasy VII reason the Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete on Blu Ray was so good sold millions of copies same goes for Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core sold millions copies as there both linked story. SQUARE ENIX should hire a guy like me as i know what people want in a Final Fantasy game not just story but how fun the game play is no endurance matches but a story of a Final Fantasy with a level system that truly brings the characters soul into its story.

@immortal-wolf-
You need to stop telling people your a games tester. Not to mention throwing your opinions around as fact. Your proof for testing the game is less info than what can be found anywhere on the net. Meanwhile the ps4 comments have no ground whatsoever. The trailer was a pre rendered video not gameplay footage so what you saw can in fact run on a ps3. Sure the ps4 might not be far off but as of june this year sony was still going with 10 years for the ps3. If they really do stick to there guns there won’t be a ps4 till 2016.

Still haven’t completed FF XIII, brought it the day God of War 3 was released. The game got boring after a while. The battle system was good if you didn’t use auto battle. The music was great though. I enjoyed Yakuza 3 more than FF XIII. People should support Sega and the Yakuza team. What has happened to FF XIV for the PS3?

lol @ FFVII Fanboys… You are not fans of Final Fantasy, you’re forever going on about how you want (Insert Aspect from FF7) in the (Upcoming FF Game).
Final Fantasy fans know to expect something different in each game, whether it works or not, we accept that and look at each game for what it is, not what from VII is not present.
VII Is, if anything, over-rated, yes it was awesome for its time, Genre shaping and everything, but to be honest, everytime I see “Remake FFVII” and “OMG FF(whichever) is nothing compared to VII” part of me dies…I seriously hope Square Enix continue to ignore you!
As, if and when I’m playing FF20 when I’m like 56 or whatever I don’t wanna be fighting an HD-Real time-3D-Virtual Reality-7th incarnation of Sephiroth after get my Ultimate Limit Break from the Gold Saucer, and Barfing up my last meal riding that damn Roller Coaster again….
And just to make you cry fanboy tears even more X-2 was by far the best for the systems it Implemented. If they had called the in Battle Class Changing System something other than “DRESS-Spheres” a good number would agree, the only reason they don’t is due to the “Feminine” nature of the name making them seem “Gay”. lol!

@23 GRB20
FF XIV Is undergoing massive radical revamp and the PS3 Version is expected around, Dec 2012-Early 2013, When the Game Relaunchs as a 2.0 Version, being completely different to what XIV Currently is. But add in the normal delays in Release Schedules, probs around Q2 2013 =P

@BlaizeK Thanks for the information regarding FF XIV. I agree with you about FF VII.

@Player42791
what you saw can in fact run on a ps3 as you said that FF versus XIII can. Your dead wrong as Square Enix already have there dev kit for playstation 4 FF versus XIII only playstation 4 not PS3 FF versus XIII has a dev kit in its system for PS4
@BlaizeK FF XIV won’t be on playstation 3 as its not compatible to run on a MMO on playstation network systems so basically playstation 4 will have MMO functions for monthly subscribers to play online.@ Player42791I never said i was a games tester thats your imagination. Reason DC Universe was put free online as it wasn’t really compatible to run as MMO on playstation 3. My heads gonna explode as to many noobs don’t know facts of gaming.
30
Posted on 23 November, 2011 at 11:16 pm by Immortal-Wolf-
heres another 100% facts of another FF game coming after FF XIII-2
Thats Final Fantasy X HD on playstation store. Any MMO games can’t function properly on playstation 3 as it doesn’t have the right functions. Everyone please remember that.

Posted on 23 November, 2011 at 11:21 pm by SalmonCannon
i agree about X-2 BlaizeK but for me the most fun ive had playing a FF game is FF12, the battles were very well done and the whole game was HUGE!

Posted on 23 November, 2011 at 11:22 pm by SalmonCannon
oh and MMO’s dont work on PS3 Immortal Wolf? in that case, [Deleted] is DC Universe Online?

@immortal-wolf-
I’m sorry, so now your saying that your not a games tester? I’m pretty sure if i sift through the blog posts i can find your comments telling people you test games. And please don’t go around calling people noobs beacuse they don’t instantly believe rumours online. Sony has confirmed that they’re thinking about the ps4 but there’s no evidence whatsoever that they’re anywhere near dev kits. And like I said sony’s plan is to keep the ps3 going till 2016. Odds are they won’t since microsoft ramped up development recently and the wii u’ll be out next year but again, there is no factual evidence that the ps4 is near release anytime soon.

Could you guys over at Square please move on to Versus and Kingdom Hearts 3 ? I would love to play those games, hopefully during my lifespan (I know, it’s short for your schedules :/)
Seriously though, I love you guys, but come on…We’ve been waiting for far too long !

Why this? I didn’t enjoy X-2, gave it 5-10 hrs then shelved it…
This trailer fuels my scepticism a bit more. Why wouldn’t you show actual battle sequences. Right now I’m a bit dazzled why this got more production resources than Versus XIII.
Also I would love Square Enix herald the PsOne (US) imports with Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears and and and… thank you

listen i know you want to ‘win’ this wee debate but lieing through your teeth won’t help you. There’s posts all over the internet from you. listen i know you want to ‘win’ this wee debate but your proof is meaningless. Maybe if you had some real credibility but you come across as a little kid trying to get a ‘win’. The fact that there’s posts all over the internet from you talking rubbish further lower your credibility. So far you’ve claimed to be a green beret, the worlds greatest gamer, a games tester, a guy who takes time off to help activision fix their servers, and now a games developer. @immortal-wolf-
Shall i tell you how i know you aren’t a games tester or even a beta tester? I have a few friends that do it and know for a fact that if you were you would have had to sign a clause stating that discussing ANY aspect of ANY game that you may have tested is considered a breach of confidence and carries a heavy fine and you will never be testing another game for the rest of your life.
This is mainly due to the constant grind game developers go through to ensure they’re game is as awesome as possible and when youre blabbing like some unstoppable fool you’re letting confidential information pass onto people that could very well be direct competitors. So yeah, hush
45
Posted on 24 November, 2011 at 12:30 pm by Ultima-Genesis
sorry that was meant to say games developer or beta tester
46
Posted on 24 November, 2011 at 12:49 pm by Solid_Snake1987
@Ultima-Genesis
Exactly. NDAs are common place in the games industry and breach of them carry severe penalties. You can get fired even for discussing a game to someone else within the same company if they feel like doing so.
Also some of the stuff Immortal-Wolf- has said is common knowledge, nothing special that you couldn’t find out on several gaming websites, and other things are complete rubbish like MMOs being incompatible on PS3 due to monthly subscriptions. They might not be that successful but they definitely work on the PS3. Heck they even worked back in the PS2 days with FFXI.
However I think the real give-away is that a quick Google search of his PSN ID shows him to be a known troll on the COD forums who tries to impersonate members of staff and has had a number of threads shut down by Activision…

“The New FINAL FANTASY XIV and the PlayStation®3 System Version:
Between October and December of 2012, we plan to integrate the current service and the coming PlayStation®3 version into the all-new FINAL FANTASY XIV. At this time, a second free trial period will also be offered.
Among our new plans is the fundamental reworking of in-game maps. As part of this process, there will be a period required for switching over to a new client and new servers, after which there will be a large transfer of data when service is brought back online. After the new client is completed, new software for the PC version will be distributed online, and can be acquired free of charge. Character data and progress for players already playing the PC version will also be preserved, allowing those players to continue using their in-game avatars. Another announcement will be made in the future as the day on which the new FINAL FANTASY XIV software will become available for download draws near, and the PlayStation®3 system version officially released.”
