Hello Gran Turismo fans,
Last week we confirmed a whole host of new content coming your way for Gran Turismo 5 and I can confirm that it’s all now ready and available for your gaming pleasure.
First on the menu and published on PlayStation Store earlier today is DLC Pack 2, featuring four brand new rides including new Scirocco, Golf , Mini and GTR models.
Also available this week is Functionality Update 2.02 which went live yesterday. The update features a host of GT community inspired game improvements and the rather lovely Christmas bonus of a free Toyota 86 GT ’12 DLC vehicle (pictured at the top of this post).
So there you are lots of great new content to keep you going over the festive period, we hope you enjoy it (both the content and the festive period!).
Full details of Functionality Update 2.02 and DLC Pack 2 can be found on gran-turismo.com now.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

So this wasn’t in the Store update post, because it would get a full post, just for this?
lol, I got a little worried we wouldn’t get the DLC today..

Having trouble signing in/logging into the store all day so far(3.20pm right now), but did get the main update this morning though and loved all the tweaks – especially the tyre wear tweaks. GT5 is still my favourite console racing game

Hi Penrose.
Firstly thanks for the update, I will picking this up later tonight.
Secondly, do you know if it was intentional that the Toyota FT86 2011 Concept car would only be gifted to people who bought multiple (separate) DLC items in October? As someone who bought the single bulk DLC package I assumed that it would count as a multi-purchase and therefore fir the requirement to receive this car.
It’s not a huge issue, as I can purchase the Paint Chips again, thus getting the required multi-buy requirement but I thought I’d ask.
Have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year…….which I assume will bring more GT5 goodness.

Best part of 2.02 was the Hud option,no more drivers list blocking my mirrors, yet I can keep tyre gauge on.

Hi Penrose,
Great news, was worried a little when it wasn’t posted in the Store update post. Quick question though, Will PS+ users have any discount on this like the first lot of GT5 DLC?
Thanks.

Exactly the same question as above:
I think it’s unfair that someone who bought 2 cheap pack in OCT for 1.99 Eur each would get a Concept car for free and someone who spent 11.09 Eur for the Full pack is not goint to get this – I think it’s a BIG PROBLEM – it’s unfair.
I had to buy another paint pack even though I already got it once ( in the full pack ) in order to get the Prototype Toyota….
I mean do you really want us to each to spend more money or not ?????
Second issue is what the heck is going on with that DLC its not available in IE,UK – the information in this article is not true….I just checked now and it defo is not in the IE store yet.

But we need som older premium.I know it takes them a while, but i’d love a premium E type.
I keep forgetting about this.Penrose,in GT5p,the ingame manual, page 11 and a scroll down.It listed recommended tyres for “real” world grip levels for each car. Will this be added in at some point.
I know the Toyota 86 GT ’12 is comfort hard, because of that japanese thing recently, but would like the other cars done.
For example the Yellow bird on CH-CM is a beautiful drive, but I want the exact tyre.

They’ve fixed the Tsukuba pit lane bug! \o/
At last.
Twice, I’ve been two hours into a four hour endurance race and that bug has struck.
Was not a happy bunny.

@vonhammer
I dont know how did you get this maybe in Holland the treat people differently ???? Are you sure you’re talking about the CONCEPT version of Toyota ft86????
There is a lot coverage about this issue in many GT forums so please prove it.
It seems I will be asking for a refund.

Does this mean we will also get the GT-R 500 Stealth, like our transatlantic cousin’s who got it last time there was a DLC foul up?

Posted on 21 December, 2011 at 4:22 pm by vonhammer
Sorry @dieselmonster I made a mistake.I bought the 86 G Concept 10 the other day and forgot. So after using the car tickets yesterday,I thought I had it.

Posted on 21 December, 2011 at 4:29 pm by poultee
@viper fantom there was no foul up today its just people inpatient and thinking that as soon as its announced on here it should be available on a spoon to them. Cant believe how impatient people are and moan over a small piece of DLC, worse things are happening in the world today than this not appearing ASAP

Keep the GT5 DLC coming. PD’s support is fantastic. The game gets better and better with every update. All we need is some friends leaderboards now.

I was going to buy this, along with other items, but it seems the PSN Store wont accept my credit card details! How inconvenient.
Ah well, I will just spend my money on something else…like food.

They should look at the manufacturers they had in GT1 and bring back the likes of Porsche etc!

Posted on 21 December, 2011 at 7:02 pm by potential91
@28 Porsche currently have a license with EA and EA refuse to lease that license for other games, however as far as I’m aware that license expires at the end of the year so we may see something appear if we are lucky
(No source sorry)
Penrose, think you could see if there’s a chance of getting the original pre-order DLC items as buyable DLC? I have all the Chromeline and Stealth models, I’m just missing the Schicks Camero and Gamestop Fantasy NASCAR. Would love to get them in the EU to complete my car collection

@GRANTBROWN, If you have no interest in the game why bother posting comments? Just cos you and your friends don’t like it doesn’t mean no one else should.
One man’s wine is another man’s poison
On topic, not bad but would rather some more impressive cars. Yet another GT-R (Yawn! nice cars but how many do we really need? Almost feels like just padding out the numbers now) and 3 hot hatches. I’d personally rather they updated the number of cars that can have a race mod. 17 cars out of over 1000 is pretty poor percentage considering original GT allowed every road car to be race modified and what differences there are between model variants is often such insignificant cosmetics that it doesn’t make sense. And the available race mods aren’t exactly visually exciting either

Nice to see Kaz is trying to fix GT5.
I know gt5 V2 is not being released outside of japan but for those who bought GT5 and haven’t got the best internet access how about an update disc for a tenner which includes all the dlc to date.
If you can sell network dlc tokens in shops.
As for updates I’m still waiting/hoping for more A-spec events or an event creator – over 60 tracks layouts, 1000 cars add performance points, country, make, drive. Could keep we going for the next 10 years.

I don’t want cars – I want tracks.
Spa was the best thing thats happened to GT5 since it’s release.
One track released every 3 months would be wonderful please?

Scirrocco is awesome!! Get this pack the cars are great. No major disappointments with this one except maybe a couple more cars wouldn’t have gone amiss.

Where to begin? 1. As a result of the update for GT5, those who have not purchased the DLC pack cannot race at SPA (just spectate). 2. If you use the driving view from outside the vehicle, the whole screen moves unrealistically to an extent that could actually set of an epileptic episode. 3.With the release of the much awaited Toyota 86 GT in the world of motoring & If like me you were awe inspired by the design that it is based on, the FiveAxis designed concept. I suspect some of you are pretty much let down. Perhaps the peeps at GT will now give us the Concept version in addition? oops probably not, in the spirit of Christmas or is that “Scrooge” they’ve removed so much enjoyment to the masses in the run upto Christmas. Did I mention Sony screwing with NAT Types even though you have the correct Port settings? What a come down. Comparable nearly to the actions of the hacker earlier this year! Not impressed Sony/GT5. My first & probably last comment here. Happy Gaming/Christmas & New Year peeps…

“1. As a result of the update for GT5, those who have not purchased the DLC pack cannot race at SPA (just spectate).”
“those who have not purchased the DLC pack cannot race at SPA.”
“those who have not purchased”
“not purchased”
Buy it then.
I didn’t mind that I bought DLC and others could use it,but are you surprised by the change.Hopefully we’ll get a seasonal TT now,but please be the 86 GT on C Hard.
