Team Ninja Details Ninja Gaiden 3 Multiplayer, Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ For PS Vita

NG3 COMBAT_08

Earlier this week, Team Ninja set up a temporary dojo in San Francisco to share news and game time with Ninja Gaiden 3 and Dead or Alive 5 on the PlayStation 3. Of particular note was the first hands-on demo of Ninja Gaiden 3′s multiplayer offering in the form of 4v4 Team Deathmatch and Battle Royale modes. It’s a bold move to add a competitive multiplayer mode to a melee-based action game, and I struggled to think of a comparable product out there; it definitely stands on its own in the action genre. My favorite touch: when struck by a deathblow, you can fight off your attacker by mashing the buttons, and then choose to “die with honor” via seppuku.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Coming To PS3 And PS Vita

Countries: , , , ,

DWTEC Final Logo

Okay, so, here we go… the first blog post on Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. I’m looking forward to writing more of these blog posts over the next couple of months as we move towards launch.

Developing anything for Doctor Who has to be done right. The show has such a following that we need to be certain that everything the game does fits with the expectations of the fans. So far, we’ve said very, very little about the game. This trailer just has the barest hints about the core of this story. What is The Eternity Clock? How is it related to the Doctor? How is River involved in this?

I’m afraid this post isn’t going to answer any of these questions; we’ll leave that to future posts and the game itself.

We’re very excited to be working with Supermassive Games as they’ve already delivered some great titles for PlayStation, such as Tumble, Start The Party and Start The Party: Save the World. The team are huge fans of the show and they’ve been great at bringing the key essence of Doctor Who into the game.

Working on PlayStation Vita, as well as PS3, is a real privilege and its unique set of features has allowed our designers to cut loose and we’ll tell you a lot more detail about how we’re using those features in a future post.

So, I hope you enjoy the trailer and look forward to sharing more details with you in the future.

Ghostlight To Release Agarest: Generations Of War 2

Countries: , , , ,

I’m delighted to reveal that Ghostlight will be working with the wonderful people over at Idea Factory and Aksys to release the magnificent Agarest: Generations of War 2 in Europe, as part of one of fabulous Collector’s Editions.

001

The Story:

One day, the world was enveloped by a mysterious blinding light. The destruction it caused was terrible, even as the light itself was sublime in its beauty, and it made those who witnessed the awesome display think of the unrestrained rage and fury of the divine.

The central continent, from where the light is believed to have originated from, went silent, while at the same time demons began to spread throughout the world like a plague. Amongst the survivors of the catastrophe, that fateful day became known as the “Day of Light.”

002003

Sometime after the events of the Day of Light, a young man by the name of Weiss, who had lost all memory of himself, encounters an enigmatic woman named Eva, who introduces herself as an Agent of the Divine. It is from her that Weiss learns that he has committed the grievous sin of deicide, and that in order for him to atone for his crime he is to become the “Vessel” in which the power of the divinity he had slaughtered will be stored. For it will be that power that will be used to resurrect the one whose life he stole.

For those who betray the divine will pay for their sins in the space which separates salvation and damnation, as will their progeny…

Agarest 2 features:

  • Revamped Battle System: Unlike the first two games of the series, Agarest 2 battles are fought with an engaging active grid-based battle system.
  • HD graphics: Enjoy your favorite characters, environments and CGs in high-definition!
  • Mini-games: Engage in PlayStation Move compatible Bathtub, Shiatsu, and Massage mini-games.
  • New Agarest Universe: Roam freely in the newly designed world of Agarest

Agarest: Generations of War 2 is due out in 2012.

Speaking of Agarest, I’m also glad to tell you that the final three pieces of Agarest: Generations of War Zero DLC – Voice Open, Face Gallery Open and Movie Gallery Open – are now available on the PlayStation Store. So, if you haven’t already, why not head over to the Agarest: Generations of War Zero section of the PlayStation Store and check out all our DLC, both free and paid.

Buy a 12 Month Plus Subscription by December 11 And Receive Jurassic Park: The Game For Free

Countries: , , , ,

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all gearing up for the end of the year.

As promised some time ago, I’m here to let you know that there’s a limited time subscription bundle that will not only get you one year of PlayStation Plus, but also includes a free download of Jurassic Park: The Game – Full Series (Episodes 1-4), the new PSN adventure from the masters of episodic gaming: Telltale Games. This is a great chance to get in on all those games you receive as part of your subscription, great discounts on new and classic titles, and access to exclusive features and game content.

Jurassic Park: The Game releases mid-December on PSN in SCEE territories. Launching in four separate episodes, or available as one bundle, this journey brings you dangerously close to the prehistoric inhabitants of Isla Nublar while exploring stories of mankind visiting some of nature’s most powerful and fearsome creatures. The result is an unforgettable journey that manages to capture the spirit of what made the films so special.

Due to the delay in the launch of this title in SCEE we’ve taken it upon ourselves to reward our newest subscribers retroactively as an early Christmas gift.

Anyone who has purchased a one-year subscription to PlayStation Plus since the 23rd November 2011, congratulations to you because you’re now eligible to receive a free download of Jurassic Park: The Game – Full Series (Episodes 1-4), worth €19.99, when it releases on PSN in SCEE. Existing subscribers can also purchase a one-year subscription to Plus, which will stack upon your existing subscription. You’ll be guaranteed access to all the benefits of PlayStation Plus, and get an amazing game that’s yours to keep even after your subscription expires.

And more good news – if you haven’t purchased yet, there’s still some time. You have until midnight 00:00 GMT on December 12th (to clarify, this means as December 11th becomes December 12th) to grab a 12-month subscription and take us up on the offer.

Eligible subscribers will receive an email with a voucher code to your registered PSN email address once the game has released, so make sure communications from us are not hitting your spam folders and make sure your registered email addresses are active.

And if you’re fully stocked up with Plus and don’t feel like taking up this particular offer, all Plus subscribers can purchase Jurassic Park for 25% off during its first week of release, at a cost of €14.99 and equivalents.

A note for our Australia and New Zealand consumers – the game will not be releasing in your territories alongside the main store release as Telltale Games are still working on organising the age ratings in your markets. You can still take part in this promotion, as once the game is released in your territory we’ll send your voucher code, and those who don’t take part in this offer will have the opportunity to pick the game up at 25% off for the first week as with all other territories.

See you later guys and enjoy your free game!

Access Episode 12

Countries:

Lightning strikes twice in Access‘ Game of the Week for Episode 12, as the mother of all JRPG franchises returns with Final Fantasy XIII-2. As well as seeing how outrageously handsome the game is, you’ll get a whistle-stop tour through XIII-2‘s battle system, get introduced to all the new faces and learn how to throw a moogle at a wall.

Access All Areas descends on London for a first hands-on with PlayStation Vita, plus there’s reaction from the Access community on both the console itself and the impressive roster of launch titles, including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Wipeout 2048 and Little Deviants.

Wrestling fans are in for a treat this week as well. After featuring WWE ’12 back in Access Episode 10, the team sit down with superstars Randy Orton and Zack Ryder to chat about games and how too much tweeting can ruin a relationship – even if you are ripped and loaded.

As always, there’s a shiny HD run-through of PS3‘s biggest news stories and best PlayStation Store content, which this week includes a look at Battlefield 3′s Back to Karkand DLC, as well as some tasty new footage from Max Payne 3.

Access is available for free every Wednesday from the UK PlayStation Store.
