Happy New Year from all of us here at SingStar and DanceStar Party!
I hope you all greeted the New Year in style (including much singing and dancing, of course!?) and are now ready for the first ever SingStore Update in 2012.
By the way, we released a little Christmas surprise on 21st December last year, outside of the ordinary update, so if you haven’t got the amazing Adele song pack yet, you can download it from the SingStore now. I’ve added the full tracklist below as it was missing from the last blog post, for obvious reasons.
So, this week, a good mix of artists and their work are making an appearance including Loick Essien, some more Spice Girls, Dean Martin for all you crooners out there and my personal favourite, Steps with ‘One For Sorrow’.
Attention! More exciting stuff coming up…
Songs from the SingStore for less you say? Head over to the SingStar UK Facebook page where ‘You Decide’ what’s going to be available at a discount in the SingStore next month. Head to the ‘Party Tracks’ chart in-game to see which songs are currently available at a discounted price and then vote on Facebook for February’s theme.
In addition, all our UK fans should check out the fabulous ‘Pass The Mic’ competition on Facebook. Write a song with your mates and you could get to record it in a professional studio!
This Wednesday we’re also releasing DanceStar Party ‘Mix 6′ on the PSN store. Tracklist is as follows:
Mix 6
- M-People – Movin’ On Up
- Alison Limerick – Where Love Lives
- TLC – Creep
- Crystal Waters – Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee La Da Da)
Happy January,
Nina xx

Hello,
Luckily there was the ADELE songpack to compensate for all of this wait… because this is a lame update. VERY BAD START for 2012.
One technical question : since Katy Perry is playing “Just dance” in her hit single “Last Friday night”, is there any chance to find it sooner or later on the Store (with the rest of her awesome singles….)
Happy New Year, though.

Happy New Year to you, too.
Not sure that is a technical question though?

Hey Nina, when will we get the Hi-NRG Song Pack tracks individually?
After watching Mamma Mia, I noticed “Lay All Your Love On Me” isn’t on the SingStar Abba disc. Any chance of getting that on the SingStore?
Also, anything from Bad Religion and Garth Brooks would be great (yeah, I know I have weird tastes… asking for Punk and Country!).

Happy New Year, hope everyone had a good Christmas
Glad to see another Steps song, I’m surprised there hasn’t been an entire song pack / new disc already, especially with all the fuss with them reforming.
Nina – If the Dance Star techies are ever let out of their cage long enough to take suggestions, can you ask them to add a “mirror” mode, please? I’ve got a friend who has problems holding things in their right hand, which makes DS almost impossible to play. An option to flip the video and moves horizontally would mean they could hold the Move pingpong stick in their left hand and join in the fun. Thanks

Nothing for me this time, but still hanging out to buy Divine’s track from the Hi-NRG Song-Pack and Drowning Pool’s track from the Mosh It Up Song-Pack.
Also hoping that some of my favourites like “Runaway Train” by Soul Asylum make it onto the SingStore soon so I don’t have to keep swapping in my old PS2 discs.

Poor update for me; nothing I’m interested in at all.
Please consider more 90s “indie”/”alternative” songs… including Britpop… yeah, I know there’s a ton of Blur available already but they weren’t the only band making waves in that era… I suggest The Bluetones, Pulp, The Charlatans, maybe even Sleeper and the like… they all did great, catchy sing-along tunes.
I’d love to see The Vaccines on there too, my favourite band of the moment… more catchy sing-along anthems… please!

Hey Bumblebee, I agree… there’s a lot of UK alternative acts that will probably never make it onto the SingStore, but it’s worth a shot… even if no-one else has heard of them.
Songs like…
“Assassinator 13″ by Chikinki
“Somewhere Else” by China Drum
“Midmay” by Stony Sleep (they were a very indie group, but released 2 albums, a handful of singles and video clips on the V2 label – same as what Stereophonics are/were on)
It would’ve been a far greater update had they included songs from the songpacks from the last few updates, but waiting 3 weeks for this after the awesome update last year is a real let down.

Why is Set Fire to The Rain missing from your list of Adele songs, according to the official singstar site this is one of the songs in the pack. Is it?

Posted on 18 January, 2012 at 5:09 pm by Graffin_UK
@InDaFunkyHouse
I think they left “Set Fire To The Rain” off the list because it’s kinda a live version and not the proper video clip. I would have liked the proper music video for it (like the other 4 songs), but thankfully the live version isn’t bad.
