This is my first recap intro of 2012 and I have to admit I wasn’t expecting our publishing schedule to get back to full speed quite so quickly, and yet we had stacks of posts last week, and the next is looking just as healthy.

Nice to get things back to normal. Been a great week. I wanna hear more about Warrior’s Lair for PS3/Vita, formerly known as Ruin.
Posted on 16 January, 2012 at 11:17 am by James Gallagher
Cool, up until the launch PS Vita I’d say the focus will be on the launch titles and then we will start looking more closely at the second wave. That’s not to say we can’t get another peek soon though; I’ll prod the team.

James what about a preview of content coming to the EU PS Store (like US The Drop).
and hints to blog posts would be fun.

I like this idea too – let me ask the Store team if it’s possible.

Can you please get someone to look into the Jurassic Park codes? Every comment about the codes gets ignored. If you look at the comments on the blog post about the offer (http://tinyurl.com/7cuzada) you’ll see that only two people have said they’ve recieved it, everyone else is still waiting. It’s been over a month and it’s still being ignored, and the few occasions that someone does reply they just say “Sunday afternoon”, “later today” or “tomorrow”. People have been phoning customer services and emailing them, and either get told they know nothing about it or that they’ll get back to them about it, and they never do. It’s unacceptable, especially considering the offer was asking people to spend a large amount of money upfront right in the run up to christmas when money is an issue.

This blog is not the best place to go with customer service enquiries. Have you seen this thread on the technical support forums: http://bit.ly/ADwIRk

Hello James I know this has nothing to do with the post but I would appreciate an answer. I just bought the Dante’s Inferno Super Bundle and It says I have 327 days remaining, it also says that it Starts 7/12/2011 23:14 and Ends 6/12/2012 23:14. I don’t know how this is possible as I bought the game yesterday which was 13/01/2012.
I was under the Impression it was mine to keep as it said nothing about It on the January Sale post.I read the description of the bundle and It said a digital licence for Dante’s Inferno was included, I was a bit confused by this and assumed it was just a fancy way of saying it was a digital copy of the game.
If it is only mine for the year it should have been stated in the January sale post or at least explained more clearly in the description, or is this just a bit of a mix up.

James, do you know if/when we could/will find out anything about how Vita games will be priced on the Store? I ask because in Japan they’re cheaper on the Store than at retail, and i would hate to preorder (for example) Hot Shots and then it be cheaper on the Store when i get the Vita. Any ideas?
Also, a hint at blog posts to come would be pretty cool to see, yeah

what are you going to do about the fraud scee are committing right now?
you cannot change the license after you haven’t delivered the items people paid for to cover your arses.
you know full well the license as it was when we bought the games applies, you know full well this new license is worthless.
don’t you dare ignore this.
the company you work for is defrauding who knows how many of their customers and you’re ignoring it.
delivering a poor service is one thing, but this, this shows nobody there has any morals whatsoever, you’re all happy to sit back while we, the customers, are robbed.
because that’s what’s happening here.
i hope you’re proud of what you’re party to here.
somebody spends a few quid, money they can ill afford to spend, with scee to have a bit of pleasure in their otherwise dreary lives, and scee has to steal from them
does your full wage packet comfort you while you spend your ill gotten gains?
personally, i’d be aghast to learn the money to pay my wages was stolen from people just trying to buy themselves an innocent little slice of pleasure.
the food i bought with that money would just stick in my throat.
but then, that’s just me.

Posted on 14 January, 2012 at 6:14 pm by HazelAM
and how many children do you think there might be that have fallen victim to this?
let me paint a little picture,
there’s this kid he or she gets some psn store credit as a christmas present, so they can choose what they want, because the person buying the present knows they love their games, but they don’t want to get them games they wont like, and they pick five minis in the sale, but then they can’t play them on their psp.
their christmas present has been taken away.
nobody will tell them why.
or if they’ll ever get to play them.
not too far fetched is it?
i could see scenarios similar to that around the country.
if not that exactly, then something similar, you can’t believe there were no kids who had these games bought for them.
so.
does that make you happy?
does it?
stealing from children.
does it make you proud?

James, can you tell me if Sony or SCEE is looking into error 80029564 issues many people have been having recently? I have purchased Marvel Pinball latest pack on my account and had to redownload it around 10 times before the install worked properly, getting error 80029564 all tries before this.
Now I have bought Oddworld HD on my other PSN EU account and have the same problem – error 80029564 while install. The difference is it’s not 300MB any but over 3GB, so I’m not really into download 30GB (or more) of the same game data over and over again. This happened to a lot of people recently.
I don’t know if it’s the firmware issue or your server are having a hard time. To be honest – I don’t care, what matters is that I’ve paid a game in your digital store and cannot play it. Are you working on a solution to fix this?

@Immortal-Wolf-
It’s a well known fact that there will be a new Call of Duty game every year. There has been since CoD 2 in 2005 and does anybody doubt Activision will milk it ’till it’s dry?
Secondly having an opinion different from your own doesn’t make a person stupid. Have you actually played the demo? If so then surely you can see that the game is, in fact, not the same. Yes, it is similar but that’s the nature of sequels. From the demo I’d personally say that XIII-2 is a big improvement on what was already a good game.

what can you do? seems one troll goes away then another takes its place, im sure they are tag teaming!!
Yea black ops 2 was leaked out way back last year in feb so its old news, i would of thought that someone who is sponsored by cod would of got the news from them instead of relying from a magazine!!

lol im never going to forget that comment, it should be nominated for an award (blog troller of the year). well there were huge talks about the game but i think officially it was june they started looking for people to work on it! like you said they will milk it till the earth ends, i got bored of it long time ago. i think they should do world at war 2, maybe focus on the cold war.

@James
Perhaps a “User of the week” section? We could nominate and vote for the most helpful or funny or any other positive attribute user/s and then they could get stuck on the following week’s recap. It’ll probably be ridiculously impracticle but it might encourage users to try and help more often :p
At the same time there could also be a “Worst” section but that would probably be bad in the long run><
Posted on 16 January, 2012 at 11:36 am by James Gallagher
That’s a nice idea – in fact, I’m currently planning a spring clean of the blog for later this year, and I’m putting a lot of thought into how we can reward helpful commenters.

Re: the minis pick and mix problems, I just called someone I know in customer services and he said that the customer services thread you linked to is indeed the best place to find the latest on the resolution. James, people in that forum thread are being told exactly the same thing and are still getting nowhere. Customer services say that they’ll get back to you, and never do. There’s been no reply from a mod over there in 10 days, and you’re the first person over here to reply about it since before christmas. Well everyone doesn’t know how much i spend on Sony playstation network well Sony playstation network wouldn’t dare ban me as i spend so much on there product as im very rich indeed plus the storys about Black Ops 2 Activision having a silent partner to make it happen that would be me as im willing to pay what ever it costs to hav Black Ops 2 operation Iron Wolf set in the golf war where modern guns and vintage guns mixed in battle this what makes Call of Duty Black Ops 2 so exciting. hahahaha what a banger.
sorry but that last post makes you sound like a complete tool, “well Sony playstation network wouldn’t dare ban me as i spend so much on there product as im very rich indeed plus the storys about Black Ops 2 Activision having a silent partner to make it happen that would be me as im willing to pay what ever it costs to hav Black Ops 2 operation Iron Wolf set in the golf war where modern guns and vintage guns mixed in battle”
first off its the gulf war.(a game set in the golf war sounds a bit more exciting than black ops 2, running around st andrews looking for a driver with your caddy in tow so you can fire of that head shot from 300+ yards and think of the vehicles golf buggy’s rock who needs tanks and jets)
secondly that story you have typed is just total bs and if by some miracle its not(but it is) you have to be the dumbest gamer on earth because activision of all people dont need someone to encourage them to make a cod sequel.
stop talking nonsense!

seen your get well comment the other day, nice one for that.. don’t know what it was i picked up, but just glad it seems to be gone, touch wood.. anyway can you tell me any more about supernatural, as i didn’t know what you meant by, ep 11, as i’m sure i am up to waiting for season7 to start, (on Living, cable, ), unless they left off in season6 on ep10, for a break etc.. the last one i seen is when the ‘walls’ holding back Sams memories of Hell came down, but am sure it ended with him getting over it… just wish i could figure out how to dwnload them like C1, but i’d probably end up in some server setting the nukes off, lol… anyway off out now, 1st time in days, also i didn’t know if i’d have enough room in a pm, so posted here… cyl8r m8.

You seem to be getting confused by, what is assumed to be, the codename for Black Ops 2. If that is it’s codename it won’t necesarily be it’s subtitle. I mean MW3′s codename was “Project Colossus” after all><
Also there's a reason silent partners are called "silent". Why not try it sometime?

“They are still working on it”
well that fills me with almost exactly no confidence.
we’ve been hearing that for weeks.
and the only thing that’s been done is the change to the license.
and let me remind you i, and everybody else, know as well as you do that the license as it was when we bought the games applies.
you could change it, but that would require both parties to agree, that didn’t happen though did it.
anybody here agree to a new license agreement?
no?
thought not.

“As it says in the description it is for PS3, so going by the terms and conditions the games are technically working as stated. However each seperate case is taken into account and looked at individually regarding the circumstances.”
that’s what people were told on the forums, that doesn’t sound like you’re fixing the problem, that sounds like you’ll give those who complain too loudly some token gesture and leaving everybody else in the lurch.
forget all the hyperbole i used before, forget whether of not a fix is being worked on, i have one question i want answered here, why change the license to make it look like you’ve fulfilled your side of the agreement, when you haven’t, and then tell people that they’re actually getting what they paid for? when they’re not.
how can you defend lying like that?
but you’ll ignore this won’t you, no answer unless you can give some canned response that leads us nowhere.

I don’t normally feel the need to reply to trolls but for you Immortal-Wolf- I’ll make an exception.
First off, how can you possibly know that FFXIII-2 is identical to the previous game? From your comment it sounds like you’ve only played the demo, so its not like you’ve beaten the import version. From the demo alone its obvious that changes have been made to the formula. Quick-time events, the inclusion of train-able monsters and the ability to make story decisions, shows that it is not the same game. Also the fact that Famitsu scored the game a perfect 40/40 gives me hope.
Claiming that you predicted Activision were going to make another Call of Duty is like saying night follows day. Everyone who knows anything about games could have told you that.
And lastly claiming that Sony would never ban you is really arrogant and actually naïve. You really think you buy more content than the rest of us combined? I’d recommend you spend your money on a decent education, your comments make it sound like you haven’t had one.
I’m really sorry to everyone else that I had to post this comment, but the increasing number of trolls on the internet scares me.
