I do have a copy but I don’t really play many FPS games or military shooters. I’m liking the Starhawk beta at the moment, and Catherine.

I just gotta ask one question, why are games on the PSN Store so expensive, some cost upto £20 more than a boxed retail game, I thought a downloaded game would cost less because there’s no packaging, trasport or retailer markups.

Look forward to hearing more about LBP Vita
any news on if we will have PSN prices of full Vita games revealed before launch? Wondering if we will see a discount similar to Japan.
Great week on the Blog mate. Nice work.

@FiL-UK1
The main reason is retailers have too much influence over the market. Most sales are in brick and mortar shops or online and they don’t want to lose sales to digital downloads so they demand the price to be higher.
Sony could say no but retailers can refuse to sell the games which would be far worse for Sony as most retailers sell pre-owned games and that is a bigger market than new games.

to me it is the fact that its stupidly funny and doesn’t take itself seriously. The little gimmicks like the proximity jack in the box explosive is hilarious and not to mention the spring boots!
Its just a fun game and i was told that it will be $15-20 when released so im hoping it’s just as cheap in the uk

i get the feeling monday ps plus content is going to be a great as a damp squid playing russian roulette with one of the monkeys who wrote shakespere in a science experiment. Sure it’ll be funney for a minute till the triggers pulled and then the realisation of what you’ve just witnessed and laughed at for a minute or so will kick in and you’ll say to yourself. yup another craptastic month ahead for ps plus.

James, i think you need to decide what you want this blog to be.
either it’s a point of contact between the fans/customers and scee or it’s a place where some tinpot tyrant left alone on the night shift can treat a paying customer like dirt.
saturday night i posted about the continuing lack of solution to the minis pick and mix sale, and somebody decided to delete it.
then when i complained, that was deleted, in fact every single word i wrote here was removed.
and there was no justification for it, i know there was no language in my post to justify this kind of fascist censorship.
don’t you dare ignore me James, this is a serious complaint about a member of your staff, it’s your responsibility to do something about this.
i decided that, with you being the blog manager, i should give you a chance to handle this first.
am i right in doing so James?
will my faith in you be justified?
or should i ask for that person’s name, their supervisors name and what your formal complaints procedure is?
because, believe me, i have no problem with going over your head with my complaint.
Posted on 30 January, 2012 at 4:06 pm by James Gallagher
I ask every other day what is going on with the minis pick and mix promotion but I am afraid I still cannot offer anything other than to follow this thread on the forums and to contact customer services via email: http://bit.ly/ApNiPn
Re: moderation, our system detects anything that looks like spam, such as a short flurry of similar posts, and automatically flags it, which I suspect happened in your case. Comments with links also take a little longer while we check them, particularly at weekends.
And on your first question, this blog isn’t really the best place to turn with customer or technical services queries, as I am not trained nor do I have access to the appropriate tools. The blog is our news and game information outlet, and a place for you to discuss those topics with us and other game developers. All I can do is pass on your messages (and I do frequently) or refer you to this blog post: http://bit.ly/rudFIV

for the record, this is what i wrote.
“here is your minisgate update for the 28th of january.
the 37th day.
http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Technical-Help/PSN-Pick -n-Mix-Minis-transfer-problems/td-p/14516579/highlight/true/page/41
t he forum thread is now at 41 pages and the problem scee were informed about on the 22nd of december last year is still a problem.
and still, nobody has gotten what they paid for.
a couple of people have got codes but even then they can’t get the games they wanted and the ones they do get will still be restricted to
one machine.
the only definitive action scee seem to have taken is to change the license/description in a vain attempt to cover it’s backside.
of course they know as well as i do that they can change the description to whatever they like after the fact but the description/license
as it was when the games were sold applies.
so they know the only purpose was to con people who don’t know the law well enough.
fortunately some of us do.

James
About hayzink’s idea for future plus content, i would say that’s a positive step forward for both the plus service and the customers, obviously not everyone will have a vita or even psp, but i believe as time goes on the vita will persuade many others to buy it. Though If the plus team do consider including future vita content, i suppose it will need to be as a choose one (vita) or the other (psn) option.. Who knows in a few years time the vita may very well have it’s very own version of plus, as one can only wonder at how far that tech could go.. personally i hope there working on a way to combine a vita type device with a lighter model of the Sony 3D personal viewer, knowing Sony we shouldn’t have that long to wait.

this wasn’t an automated process, i my posts weren’t the only ones deleted and even the ones that were mine weren’t at all similar, unless being written in english, having bad grammer and lots of letters is considered similar by your system.
there was a human being behind this, and the moderation didn’t take long, within a minute or two by the end.
somebody was sitting there watching what was being posted and they were deleting it straight away.
i really hope you don’t think i consider the matter settled after that excuse, because i so don’t.
maybe you should check your logs, you do keep logs right?
because i don’t suspect there was a person doing this, i know there was a will behind it.
as for my comment that started all this, that wasn’t a question.
did you see a question mark anywhere?
it wasn’t for anybody on the blog, believe me, i don’t expect answers here, it was in fact for the community, the fans, the PAYING CUSTOMERS, i was giving people an update on the situation.
making sure it doesn’t get forgotten.
on that note, 42 pages, and the 39th day.
and yep, still nobody has what they paid for.

I think your missing the point! your name is your ID so if there are constant msg’s coming one after another it would be marked as spam/trolling.
Dont get me wrong im all for what your doing because it is not nice being shafted like this but continuously spamming this blog will not get you anywhere.
Are you planning on taking legal action? you seem to have read into the terms of use so your best bet is to go and speak with citizens advise and they will help you sort the matter out. good luck

So the mod system in place auto flagged posts that consider to be spaming.
well the Auto flagged must be stuck to on with mine because every message i posted “Awaiting moderation”
for the new people joining our PSN community that does not know what spam is, it not spam meat.
spam = a unbroken chain of post of same topic however look at hazel post it is broken example her posts are spread out.
spam is also know as “Flooding” flood the forums with chain of message of same messages, so there no ground for moderation.
anyway i too look forwand for our plus update later this afternoon.
However knowing SCEE track record of releasing content is not good.

@ HazelAM
Thanks for keeping me/others informed about the mini’s situation, i am not ‘directly’ affected myself but it is very worrying being a psn customer lately, The list of broken promises is to big, in fact it is really unbelievable, Ever since the play deal, buy 4 get 1 free(?), it’s been mistakes and delays for a lot of people. So 43 pages ?, is that like here, 50 comments a page?, if so that does add up. Just keep on doing whatever you can, I still can’t believe how the management, or their lawyers thought that changing the licence/terms after ‘their’ error would just be easier, something is very wrong indeed.
31
Posted on 31 January, 2012 at 10:42 am by HazelAM
There’s only ten comments per pages, but that’s still over 400 comments.
comments seem to be slowing down though, how many times can you complain when all you get in response is silence?
that’s why i want to keep this issue in the public eye, so to speak, on the blog.
so this doesn’t get forgotten, so they don’t get away with just changing the license/description.
of all the times i’ve asked questions of this, not once has an answer been given as to why the license was changed.
and here’s today’s update.
still 42 pages, like i said, scee’s ignore it and hope it’ll go away ploy is looking kind of effective.
here’s the link for anybody to ensure it doesn’t.
http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Technical-Help/PSN-Pi ck-n-Mix-Minis-transfer-problems/td-p/14516579/highlight/true/page/42
don’t tell me the automated systems flag scee sites as spam too.
and we’re on the 40th day now.
even discounting the christmas period that’s still nearly a month soince a full time return to work that nothing has been done.
well, other than changing the license.
32
Posted on 31 January, 2012 at 10:54 am by HazelAM
@judgehusler if my name was flagged up that would be a whole nother level of insulting.
yeah, i get what you’re saying, but it wasn’t just my posts that were deleted, any post that even referenced what i was posting about were removed.
but i know that many of the posts that were deleted had no mention of my name or id.
there was no automated system behind this.
this was censorship.
any reference to what i was talking about was totally removed on saturday, no matter how obliquely it was referenced.
if i was just insulting people left right and centre i could understand.
but somebody who just want what she paid for and will not accept the shady way scee have been handling this?
no, that’s just not on.

@HazelAM
It should be clear to everyone who read James’ comments, that SCEE doesn’t get what social media is all about. They just want a place to dump their PR messages. Engage in a conversation? Not on this blog. Quickly solve some problems for customers without a need to call a costly service hotline? Not on this blog. SCEA is far better in terms how they handle their blog and how they react to customer feedback. For two weeks now i have this problem that i can’t access Burnout Paradise Complete Edition on the store. I’ve been complaining here in the comments. Nothing has changed. So i contacted a guy from SCEA via Twitter and he immediately replied that he would try to pass the issue along to the right people. How sad is it when a guy who is not even responsible for this region is trying to give me a better customer service experience than the actual guys responsible here?

Of course i posted my problem the very first day i encountered it in the german support forum but i didn’t get a reply.
And of course i understand that James is not responsible for such things. But when deals that get advertised here on the blog can’t be used for some reason by paying Plus subscribers like me and Sony won’t correct their mistake, you might get an idea why there are so many complaints in the comments.

I am writing this in the vain hope that this is made known to more people so Sony has to do something about it.
When Playstation Network accounts are created they are restricted by either a sub or a master account (sub account for people under 18) which effectively makes it impossible for people who are under 18 to access funds and social features such as facebook and certain online games.
Whilst this is a good idea it does mean that when the playstation network user reaches the age of 18 they cannot add funds to their account and still are unable to access many features of the ps3.
This can’t just be me because on the psn idea share it is rated quite highly by many people including me as shown here:
http://share.blog.us.playstation.com/ideas/2010/03/18/sub-accou nt-promotion/
What we want is a means of either:
a) transferring out details (trophies, friends, games, names) over to a new (master) account.
b) transferring the sub account into a master account and absolving the link between the sub it’s master account.
40
Posted on 31 January, 2012 at 11:10 pm by chrisandsheva
I have heard something about this topic before, maybe over a year ago as well, so sub ac’s basically become useless after X amount of years (in some cases) of faithful, loyal use by the next-gen gamers,?.. This is totally unacceptable, Both for the slap in the face from sce upon the user reaching ‘adult age’, but maybe more worryingly because a lot of responsible parents may feel the need to NOT use sub ac’s for their kids, knowing that in X years time said ac becomes USELESS. Now sce should really resolve this ‘bad issue’ as the amount of underage kids in adult games is allready a serious enough problem, without sce adding encouragement to this by basically making it un-feasible for responsible parents to use these sub-accounts. I wish you’s luck in your attempt to get sce to fix this Major problem.
