MotorStorm RC is a few short weeks away and already the competitive online cross-play at its heart is igniting intense rivalries. Here at Evolution Studios there’s been a lot of competition for the best performances on every track and we’re thrilled that gamers and journalists are experiencing this at special preview events all around the world (such as the UK Vita Rooms).
Ahead of getting the opportunity to jump into the competition for yourself (Vita Rooms is still on the road, by the way!), I’m here to give you the low down on just how online competition works with other players – running you through a short video of me competing with Zoe (Evolution Studios QA Manager, who sits on the desk across from me) as I take on her performance in a Hot Lap race.
It’s so easy to see what your friends and rivals have been up to and, with super-fast load times on both PS3 and PS Vita, jump into a race instantly to beat their fastest times and wipe the smirk off their face.
Competing like this, on your own schedule, is a perfect fit for both MotorStorm RC and the PlayStation Vita, letting you pick up the game and compete against friends when it’s convenient for you. ghost laps will never replace playing live against another person.
why is it for such an online enabled handheld, both of sony’s big launch racing games are bereft of online multiplayer?
i mean, sure, the ability to go into a quick game and challenge somebody else’s time is great for a quick play on handheld, but it should be an option alongside a proper multiplayer race

Everyone at Evolution Studios loves playing live multiplayer games just as much as we love the competitive online play in MotorStorm RC. There was no decision made about which was better, it was simply a case of going with what worked well for MotorStorm RC and what could be achieved by a small, elite team.
Download and play the free trial of the full-game and give it a go when it comes out (or play it at the upcoming Vita Rooms). We hope you’ll agree that it’s a lot of fun to play.

Im liking the look of this, small tracks with fast paced racing, its probably gonna be cheap too, though no real online is a bit odd, especially if its on PS3 too

It’s one of those “just one more go” games where you end up having 10 more races… and with the advantage of not having to put it down because you can take it with you on PSVita.
The price will be confirmed on PlayStation.Blog and facebook.com/MotorStormRC soon. You’re thinking along the right lines for sure.

Well I’m glad I have no interest in this game because really yet a nether game with no online multiplayer, good job it’s not a retail game. But like I said over on the virtua tennis blog post, “Why are they avoiding online multiplayer?” Is there something wrong with the Vita?

I LOVE MotorStorm games
This looks cool to. Will the PS3 version have a 4 player mode? i.e on one PS3? Maybe split-screen or the way Micro Machines games did 4 player erm games?

I am not buying a launch vita, so haven’t really payed any vita related blogs that much interest. i want to wait for a few months until i get the avarage gamers reviews of this new kit. But i have one question for anyone.. the vita does do normal multiplayer type games dosn’t it,?. Only i know theres going to be a cod and fifa made for it, and i just can’t picture a ghost challange mode as being ‘good enough’ for those, no matter what gets said in the review.. ie the classic lines from the modnation guy, about multiplayer being to last year or such..
Basically can the Vita do real 8v8 multiplayer, or is the sales hype overlooking to mention this part. As i said i haven’t been paying ‘that’ much attention, (yet).

you can do online vs in marvel vs capcom, reality fighters, fifa and wipeout so far there a few i know of.
the vita does do normal multi player but im guessing as it requires its own server to be maintained some developers have decided not to bother at the moment.
im deffo getting mine on the 22 so ill give you a heads up on what its like

btw.. i seen you managed the 666 combo for the plat the other day, that was the last one i needed to do when i had it (Dantes), i may get it again as i kinda lost interest in it halfway through trials of st Lucia, Thats all i feel interested in lately, the old finished games from a while back, just got GoW3 again, Darksiders and am allways on Resi, Wouldn’t mind if i didn’t still have all of Novembers big hitters to get into. Think i am waiting till i know it is safe to start Skyrim, as i can see myself spending many weeks (gaming time) in there.

turns out that is easy it was the last one i needed for the plat as well.
all you do is when you enter the first trial in fraud(the one with unlimited magic) turn the game to inferno mode then spam sins of the father the one with the cross in your magic list and you get well over 666 and you dont even have to move from the spot your standing in.
that was it done and straight back in the post to lovefilm, doing l.a noire and wwe all stars now
and i will keep you in the loop on the vita only 20 days

and speaking of resi bought 5 gold in the 12 deals offer and have yet to touch it, not got any trophies in it yet

i shouldn’t really say this as it will ruin the game for you, but i have about 18million, and all the eggs etc, as well as every gun fully upgraded, So.. if you want to i could give you all the top guns to give you a easy start, But imo you’d miss out on the game by doing it that way.. But if you just want a little help i guess that’ll be ok, anyway just pm me when you get around to playing it..

id get fear if i did not dislike fps games so much, im sure i have said this before but borderlands is one of the only ones i like(also seem to like batman imposters now)

damn i hate that you cant preorder games on psn… like to pay for all my games when the pay comes.. not going on the last days of the month, thinking “food or games.. hmm”.
but i am sold on this one, the “pay for one, play on two” deal made me get it. another game for the vita, that can be continued at home

Looks great, Motorstorm is still the best arcade racer of this console generation. Hope this game works out for guys. Will definitely buy day one.

I’ll buy this game on release date! It looks awesome and I can’t wait to play it!

I’ve cancelled my Vita preorder because I want to see how relevant the 3G will actually be but I’ll definitely get MS:RC day one. Kinda reminds me of Super Skidmarks
