PS3 System Software Update (V.4.10)

Wow, the browser update is a bit late, 5 years late.
I hope you can change the upload speed, that would be realy usefull because it´s so slooooooow.

@remir69 and @unostar i having the same problem keeping hearing the mircophone sound the in the headphone even when i am not chatting. they better fixed this problem quick

Is it possible to secure your ps3 with a code by startup?
Looks like parent control but than before you can choose your userprofile/account.

If not, is it possible to get that with a future update?

Just a question though, the ITV Player and 4oD web apps still seem to be using the old browser, so will they be updated to work with the new browser in a future update?, or will they get apps like BBC iPlayer did?

The PS3 version of eu.playstation.com seems to have disappeared as well, i just get redirected to the PC version of eu.playstation.com, is this meant to happen?, or will it be fixed in a future update?, since the PS3 version was a lot faster and easier to use than the PC version is now…

Apart from those two things, this is probably one of the best recent firmware updates…

My PS3 7.1 Wireless Surround Headset is completly [Deleted] up after the 4.1 update. Is there any news on that front….cant be right that a update renders your PS3 headset useless….!

Nice. I can actually use Twitter on the PS3 browser now. Would be nice if I could actually use Google+ on there too!

Install update. Play game 1 hour. 60GB model PS3 turns itself off and red light starts blinking.

I’ve never had this issue before and now my PS3 can only stay on for 2 minutes before it auto shuts down and the power indicator starts blinking. Coincidence?

Everything in the PS3 is still saying “PlayStation Network”. Where is this famous “Sony Entertainement Network” ? Even the new clock option says it will update “each time it’ll connect to the PlayStation Network”. So, no SEN, it’s still PSN.

This update has ruined the 7.1 headset. Absolutely ruined it. Crystal clear sound? Not any more – constant loud hissing and crackling because you decided to force everybody into having a mic function they didnt want.

If I buy some trainers, I dont want Nike coming round and taking a [Deleted] on them 6 months down the line. That’s what sony have done with my headset.

Option to disable please. Quickly.

Now neither of my media servers work any more, can browse all _my_ music and pictures on the Logitech server but can’t watch the pictures or listen to the music. PS3 media server I can’t even browse, the folders only show up in the movie category but as movies that can not be played.

I still can’t copy installed PS1, PSP or Minis to my PSP… seriously who came up with the idea that I would like to have hundreds (yes hundreds) of install files in my games category on the XMB?

improved internet browser? you sure? blog now takes an absolute age to load/ update and is about as easy on the eye as a 90 year old scrotum.

hi, i have a problem with new 4.10 update,
while using the official ps3 7.1 headphones the voice of the user (me) is being transmitted back to the headphone speakers with the
in-game sound, causing a rather irritating combination! there is no way to stop it happening, it was not like this before the update plus it is causing an annoying hissing sound! hope someone in charge of the updates gets this message! cheers

I confirm there’s a major problem with the official wireless stereo headset. In game, the headphones produce a very annoying constant static noise which you cannot mute without disabling the whole headset as input in general audio settings. Please fix it!

Mine still says PlayStation network. That normal?

still really really bad internet browser, disapointed my phones is 100 times better. GET IT SORTED SONY BEEN LIKE 6 YEARS AND STILL A BROWSER THATS WORSE THAN DIAL UP

People, The PlayStation Network ISN’T changing name, it’s only the account name that is being changed. IE your PlayStation Network account is now being called Sony Entertainment Network Account.

don’t like this update truth be told as the other playstation network browser was more better to load pages quicker and find stuff easier this new PSN update browser totally slow can’t find all information i want like the other playstation network browser so looks like i can’t browse playstation network blog anymore takes to much of my time!

The first thing it did was CRASH , then it sent a report of its failings to Sony , then it Re-built its Database , then it locked up twice while installing G.R.A.W 2 !

Wonderful ! Fix what you have ! not Add more to go wrong !

Oh yeah ! And im here at half five in the morning , as an Old back up is due to finish restoring soon.

Have to rely on an old one as stuff from the store is still not installing after download ! great !

Point im making is why not do something useful such as enable the console to power down when a Back Up or Restore operation has completed ?

I’m annoyed, this update completely messed up the main sites I go to on my PS3. It is taking a ridiculously long time to get the sites up, not that it really matters because now I can’t even stream movies or TV shows like I was able to before. Is there anyway to get back to version 4.0, it atleast worked for me.

Like a few others here i am not 100% about this update, maybe it will improve,?.. am hoping so as i also noticed that its taking longer to load the few pages i actually use the browser for. Still i have been looking for the time i need to improve my pc skill, so it may be a blessing in disguise.
On another note has anyone bought the Mafia2 game,?.. £8(ish), great price, i thought it was a mistake so just got it fast, Only i don’t get any sound during the cutscenes, which is really necessary as well, am going to ask on other blogs, but if anyone else has, or dosn’t have this issue would you leave a post.

To the people who have a crashed PS3 now: do you also have the model CECHC04? Perhaps it’s only this model that has big issues with 4.10.

I’ve been waiting a descent browser from the 1st day i bought my fat ps3 in ’07.At last!thanx,now i agree with having a youtube app on our XMB….

Well,new update works ok in Greece-and maybe is the only thing working in this country-and browser have been,clearly,improved(it’s still not a pc 4 sure),and no problems in downloading or installing..

In UK with 4.10 and can’t see the SEN changes promised in fw 4.10. Also, when I log into the website here it asks for a PSN account. And shouldn’t it be blog.eu.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com or something too.

Anyway, main question is when the rename to SEN is coming?

The PSN isn’t changing name just the account. Basically, the PSN is now part of the SEN and your account doesn’t just log in to the PSN, it also logs onto everything else that’s part of SEN.
