Greetings humble gamers. I come forth with a new update of the PlayStation Store.
After a bit of a wait we now have Worms Ultimate Mayhem ready and waiting to claim your precious hard drive space. Grand Theft Auto IV arrives to the PS Store as a vanilla flavour or as a bundle option complete with DLC, and House of the Dead III also shows its beautifully scary side for you to unload your rounds on.
The big demo this week is Mass Effect 3. Fire the first shots in the war to take Earth back! Voted Most Anticipated Game of 2012 at the SpikeTV VGAs, Mass Effect 3 puts you at the centre of an all-out galactic war – and how to wage that war is up to you. Try the demo today.
Binary Domain also pops in for a visit, also having a demo on the store today. From the team that brought you Yakuza comes Binary Domain, a game set in a futuristic Tokyo where man and machine are waging war. A bit like Terminator only in Tokyo, then. But nay! It’s the gameplay system that should be of interest. Direct your team with instructions either by button commands or your very own voice – do they trust you or are you just a reckless muppet in the middle of a warzone?
Also, Far Cry 2 has its price slashed to £7.99/€9.99! Even better, if you’re a PS Plus subscriber then it is offered to you at a 100% cut. Imagine that. Oh wait, you won’t have to!
Today we also enter a new phase of select PlayStation 2 titles appearing on the store. We’re taking things slow with a selection of titles (full list below), but a couple of gems to definitely check out are God Hand and Maximo.
“God or demon, what am I? It’s time for me to choose my path!” (I love the song!) Receiving a controversial review, God Hand is a sorely underexposed PS2 game that was, for many players, a truly wild ride. With crazy moves such as the “Ball Buster” and a truly colourful set of characters, God Hand was not only fun, frantic and hilarious but also pretty gosh darned hard!
Now, if that doesn’t take your fancy (why?!) then give Maximo a shot. Using the classic Ghosts ‘n Goblins as a sort of base design, the game has you take up arms as Maximo, who needs to save his lady friend and other loved ones from an evil chap called Achilles. With classic style gameplay reimagined, Maximo is sure to provide you with some great fun and amusing moments when you’re stripped to your hearty underwear whilst fighting off the undead. No man is more brave and determined than this, surely?
I hope you enjoy some of what’s on today.
Stay safe, readers.
Bye!

It’s a great update and all but I can’t help but remember the early days of the PS3 when PS2 compatibility was removed so that Sony could ‘focus on next generation gaming’ but now look at what they’re releasing…(*shock*) PS2 classics!

First off: Jawad, that price on House of the Dead can’t be right. 2599 euro? lol wut.
Second: Oh God my wallet. All those PS2 classics. Y u do that?! D-: This is going to murder my bank account.
Ah well, I’m okay with this. Arcade Classics, Bust A Bloc and Cel damage are mine, yay.
Lastly, asking again: Any chances of seeing Brigandine on the EU store as an US import?

Whats the deal with Trine 2? I’m getting fed up now it’s getting past a joke. What exactly is the problem with it? It can’t be a UK thing because Xbox and Steam have it and it cant be a Playstation thing because the US have it on PS3.
Sorry for the rant I just want some clear answers.

It saddens me that SSX On Tour is loaded and not SSX 3. Still, I guess that means there is more chance of an HD remake/remaster of SSX 3 in the future.

@ Sizzon
Killzone has been delayed, as Guerilla have decided to remaster it in HD with trophies, instead of releasing the title to PS2 Classics!
@ Hayzink
So I should browse through my free titles & launch each one to update the date? If so that’s great & thanks!
Also have you purchased Gotham City Imposters yet? The servers are encountering issues, but these should be resolved tomorrow!
If the unlock key still isn’t within the latest section, then use “all games, PS3 games, GI, Gotham City Imposters & the unlock key is the 2nd file! Obviously glitched when they uploaded it last week!

HotD3.. Someone asked if it’s move support, it is, But if your asking that then you probably don’t know that HotD is a on rails shooter, the overkill game was very frustrating, ie it kept moving you along before you had a chance to grab ammo or collectables, i didn’t know it was a on rails game so was disapointed, but the price of this new one isn’t much, so i will be getting it… btw you can just use your controller as well.
Also as said above, store isn’t releasing Vita games till release day, so unless they update early, (doubftul?), it’s a 5o clock wait for everyone, and am sure the US store had theirs ready before the early adopters got hold of thiers, in fact isn’t (or wasn’t ) meant to be today that they got them, it was just one weeks early access wasn’t it,?..

if the vita content isnt going to be up before i recieve my vita (as soon as the shop door opens) i will be buying physical copies. seems mad that sony dont have them up early so people can buy them ready for getting the vita. its not like we can play them till we get our vitas. once again sony miss the boat.

Well, bloody hell. Pardon if I’m being a bit rude, but it’s a bit bloody late for the post isn’t it?
I’m dying to get my hands on Mass Effect 3′s demo but I hate not knowing when the update is going to be done. Are y’all droppin’ the ball or something, because you haven’t put what time the update will be, and when it’ll be over.
Once again, I apologise if I’m being too blunt but I’m a blunt person. I prefer things to be told straight up rather than beating around the bush. Regardless, great update. I might grab Far Cry if I have enough room on my PS3 for it.
Also, the beginning list looks good for PS2 games. God Hand, hmm..I might see if I can grab it when I get chance to.

Good update. Most PS2 classics aren’t real classics but i won’t complain about it too much.
But still not Trine 2. Come on guys, this is really annoying.
And where are the Vita games? I will pick up my Vita at the official Vita launch in Berlin one day ahead of the street date and there will be three vouchers for games included. The store better be up with those games in time.

As far as I know video can only active on 1 ps3 at a time, so you have to deactivate the other ps3 first.
If its active on a ps3 you dont have any more, you can deactivate your ps3/psp at http://www.qriocity.com just sign in go to account / media and devices and click game, this should deactivate all ps3/psp’s linked to the account.
hope this helps.

@catkiller
its up to you mate i dont see the point tbh as it just boots like normal and the date changes it does not download a patch or anything so id just play it when you plan to play it and it will sort itself out.
not bought gotham no point atm as im abusing lovefilm for all its worth and going through blu ray titles like mad, just got portal 2 and splatterhouse through today and im going to make a start on them as soon as im done with chains of olympus (thanks for the freebie on the god of war collection volume 2 sony customer service)
im also clearing titles that i have 100% or got platinum off my hdd as i prob wont touch them again, its nice to see that you have over 200 games(as you know
) but dont see the point in wasting space on games im no longer going to play and if i ever do ill just re-download them.
btw just incase your not doing this you should make sure you get rid of any install data of any titles your no longer playing as some of them take up lots of space and its a waste if your not using them.

@SteDE (#101):
Will you and all your ilk stop whining already?! This is the largest update by far and we actually got MORE PS2 classics than the US store, several of them that aren’t available on said store at all – and yet people like you keep whining and moaning that they want more!
I can’t stand people like you – give them a hand and they want the whole arm up to the shoulder…

You guys know you have a new console coming out next week, right?
Where are all the vita preview videos, feature pieces and trailers? Sure I can get them on Youtube, but why can’t I also get hi res videos straight to my PS3?
SCEE: I love your products but you never seem to join the dots.

@GenocideHeart. I can whine about whatever I want. It may be a large update but not everyone cares about PS2 classics. My post was regarding the PS Plus side of things, nothing more.

@ Hayzink
Come on mate you know me, i’m aware of the Data Utility files so yes, I delete them on a regular basis!
With having so many games I just need to 100% them, before deleting them, unless the games are worth keeping! The majority of the files are episodic content like Back to the Future, Strong bad etc I just need to get round to playing them, as i’m a hoarder at the moment! If a title goes on SALE i’m a sucker for purchasing it while I can!

Hi there,
Cool stuff – PS2 Classics and Fear Effect 2. I’m about to buy first FE today. And the question for this update
– can we expect a Koudelka game in the future?

Hmmm… Finally for the PS2 classics but most of them are just from Disney and even Midas (in which I really hope not). To me I find the PS2 lanuch titles a wee disappointing. what about The Getaway, WipEout Fusion and even Ridge Racer V but instead we get mediocre borefest we never play. If there’s anything from Blast! Entertainment I’ll get even more dissapointed.
I mean I own tons of PS2 games and heck, even the US has better PS2 games than us. Also for the PSone but no offence, Square Enix is the ONLY company that releases good games for PSone Classics now. *sigh* Why does 2012 has to suck? You know I’ll just stick to my PS2 and also, I already own FC2 so I’ll just move on.

*sigh*
Still the Warhammer 40.000 skins are missing… I think it’s safe to say that PSN Europe screwed up severely because THQ is saying it should be up already… way to go …
In case you are still asking yourself “Waht skins?”
Blood Raven and Legion of the Damned are missing… is it so hard to put them up?
Really, I’ve been questioning since october for Blood Raven skin and November for the Legion of the Damned ones… all I get is a “Should be there” from THQ and a “HUH?” from Sony…

Very cool to see a bunch of PS2 games on PSN, although it’s unfortunate I’m not really that interested in any of them. Well, maybe Mr Golf if I feel like playing a golf game some time.
I look forward to the day when these games are offered on PSN.
Musashi: Samurai Legend
Okami
Steambot Chronicles
Suikoden 3
Suikoden 4
Suikoden 5
Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven
Yakuza
Yakuza 2
Still waiting for these PS1 classics to appear too.
Chrono Cross
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2
Threads of Fate

@119 Thanks for answer
Problem is the PS3 that’s active for video is my old one that I leave at my mum’s for when I stay there and don’t really want to deactivate a working PS3 or lose all the content I have on there
