It’s a fantastic day at Fun Bits Interactive as we and our good friends at SCEA Santa Monica Studio celebrate the official launch of PS Vita with Escape Plan on the PlayStation Network.
Exclusive to the powerful and touch-tastic Vita, gamers can interact and experience the irreverent dark humor of Escape Plan with tactile swipes, slaps, pokes and reach-around taps. Part of the fun of Escape Plan is taking a moment to figure out all the new ways to interact with the game, as well as exploring the new interfaces of the Vita hardware…all without splatting our hapless heroes all over the place. Never before have players been able to reach into a game from the front and back of a mobile device like this, and have it feel totally intuitive, natural and establish a real connection with the characters.
Right from the start you can tap characters to get their attention, give them a little slap to get them moving, manipulate dangerous hazards back and forth in the world, glide your hand along the back of the Vita and see your finger leave a ghost trail in the air. Use carefully placed knocks to distract minions, herd and poke sheep around as unwilling little test subjects, and orchestrate all of your carefully placed gestures to guide Lil & Laarg through the bizarre labyrinth of twisted puzzles rooms.
Our eager excitement to get Escape Plan in your hands is peaking, so grab your Vita, hurry to the PSN, download the game, pop your headphones on (we truly love the music and sound effects) and help Lil & Laarg escape…or die trying.
Escape Plan is available now on PSN for £9.99/€12.99.

@funkpower
It’s the day of launch… Lots of us are excited, and interested in this. This is a Playstation blog, not a PS3 blog.

I’m having a problem with my £5 off Escape Plan code. I got Frobisher Says with no problems at all, but it won’t allow me to redeem the code for Escape Plan. I see on Twitter that many others are having this problem, so will we be expecting a fix for this at all?
Loving the Vita so far by the way, and I haven’t even put the Uncharted cartridge in yet…charging it up fully before trying that out!

I’ve been really interested in this one since the first trailer came out.

Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 1:39 am by Chris Millar

I got an email back telling me to contact customer support. They have escalated my case and said they’d ring me. I’d suggest you do the same.

@mxk1000 Just had my replacement preorder discount code & the price for Escape Plan is now £6.49. Thats only a £3.50 discount not £5, getting fed up with this now!
21
Posted on 22 February, 2012 at 10:42 pm by tommonsense
Was just about to praise Sony for the speedy fix, but have got the same £3.50 discount. Can’t they count to five? Ridiculous!

i stupidly went straight through, downloaded it then realised I only got the £3.50 discount, total nightmare, looking forward to playing tho

Same issue with Super Stardust Delta. £6.49 – £5 = £2.39 apparently. I’m getting tired of the incompetence of SCEE.

Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 12:30 am by PixelBurst
Escape Plan 6.49 :/ I waited all day to get this, and I’m not paying £6.49 – the voucher I have here clearly says “£5 off”. It’s not about the money, it’s a matter of principle.
27
Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 12:46 am by Crinkled
Guess I’ll wait for the fixed “fixed” code to come through before I redeem by “right” code, then! Like Pixelburst says above me, it’s not the money, it’s the principle. I’d be happy to pay £9.99 or £6.49, but the voucher says “£5 off”. After spending £320 I think we at least deserve what we were promised

I had the same incorrect discount applied to Super Stardust Delta. Reduced from £6.49 to £2.39, at which point I decided to wait (noted that this is almost Euro to £ exchange rate for a fiver)
The ever growing list of poorly executed promotion is now more than a little embarrassing. From the pre-order pack supply chain, to the incorrect links in emails, to incorrect discount.
“I’m getting tired of the incompetence of SCEE”
I couldn’t agree more and I think some more compensation is in order SCEE don’t you?
Couple this with a terrible Vodafone 3G top-up process and web site code, the more than half a dozen full system freezes in a single night (dodgy firmware maybe?), praying wi-fi continues to stay connected and then the absolute joke pricing for full downloads:
£44.99 for Fifa!!!
£29.99 for Lumines (I got my boxed copy for £22.95)
Not the start for PS Vita I wanted to see.

We should have created an Escape Plan coupon trophy! Hopefully the issues get sorted soon and you all get to enjoy the game.

Yes hopfuly it will get sorted as I so want this game as I have already played a little bit of the game at an event so that is why I chose this game over the rest of the pre-order games

Haven’t you people learnt yet that you will always get screwed over, only day two and problems already.
What is going to happen in weeks time? i tell you what, just like japan sales will slump between 50-70%.
Any way enjoy the glorified touch pad, not seen one before(sarcasm) and fingers crossed it will be problem free in the near future(yep im sure that will happen)

still no code for me for any value. looks like the amazon deal minus the pre-order pack was the way to go. all i have is a box and a set of headphones that i wont use as i have better quality ones .

Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 9:48 am by reddr1964
@32 So if the sales slump we’re getting screwed over? Obviously sony is going to make something to regain sales in case it’s going to be Japan all over again.
35
Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 1:11 pm by Huono_peleis
Sadly no PS3 version. PS3 really needs some variety. It’s all shooters, obscure japanese fighting game re-mixes and annual sport game repackagings.

This game reminds me of Abe’s Odyssey. And that was a great funny game. Still deciding whether the vita is really worth it. Maybe if the ps2 classic was able to play on it I could be sold.

Posted on 23 February, 2012 at 5:28 pm by tommonsense
The correct discount has now been applied so I’ve purchased the game. Thanks for getting it right…eventually.
Sony, you have brilliant games systems and make some pretty amazing games. Please stop trying to grab defeat from the jaws of victory by making so many silly errors with the store. It makes you look like a bunch of amateurs rather than a multi-billion dollar multinational company.

I’m just gonna throw my hat in here and say that my preorder code was borked too. I emailed sony last night to see about a replacement, but I’m yet to hear back. I really hope this isn’t gonna turn into a huge problem, cause I love my Vita, but the PSN store is a bit of a joke.
I could rant for hours about the ridiculous prices, but i’ll save you all the strife.
Thanks

got mine & its awesome…really impressed with my vita so far..now drop the prices by a fiver & get remote play working & everything will be perfect.

Posted on 24 February, 2012 at 10:31 am by judgehusler
@34 no that’s not what iv said! If things carry on the way they are it is inevitable that sales will drop as sony already had to pull the rabbit out of the hat just to keep it in the lime light due to a huge amount of people not bothered about it.
Look how many freebies they have flashed in peoples faces just for further encouragement, dont get me wrong the vita isn’t bad little gadget but being owned by sony is!!!
