Today is an incredibly important day in PlayStation history and one that I am incredibly proud to be part of. Following years of hard work, PlayStation Vita arrives as the most powerful and versatile hand-held gaming machine on the planet.
Our goal was to develop a console that challenged gamers, with new functionality and ways of playing that were previously unimaginable. I hope you agree that PS Vita surpasses that goal; offering an unparalleled gameplay experience that blurs the lines between reality and interactive entertainment.
Its potential could only be realised by ensuring that PS Vita launched with an equally impressive day one software lineup. We are again incredibly proud of the rich gaming content available today; it’s the best launch lineup we’ve ever had in the company’s history. This has only been possible due to the world class development teams we work with and their involvement with PS Vita from the very beginning. It is the mix of new and familiar, from WipEout 2048 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss to Unit 13 and Reality Fighters, using so many of the system’s unique features that we believe will both challenge and excite.
Launch is a tremendously exciting time for everyone, but the hard work isn’t over. We are all committed and working harder than ever to ensure the PS Vita experience is always as rich as possible, with the very best games and the very best functionality.
For those of you who have queued to get your hands on your very own PS Vita today we hope you enjoy the experience and we look forward to hearing your reviews.

Still waiting for Sony to update us on the Remote Play features of the PSV as I have spent £100′s on PSN games on my PS3 and I’d like to seem them as transferable or at least remote playable?
Same goes for the 20plus PSone games I’ve downloaded. I would expect to be able to play them on a PSV??
Come on Sony give me positive answers and I will happily buy a PSV!

Loving my vita, store prices for games are too high. And I have already had several crashes that meant I needed to hold the power button for 30 seconds – still great console!
1. It needs skype please
2. It needs video out through the accesory port
3. It needs to support a PS3 gamepad through bluetooth.
Good luck with the release!

Hi,
First I want to say the Vita is an awesome piece of tech and I’m really glad I bought one but there is one major issue which really shouldn’t be a problem and I’m surprised nothing was done about it before the Vita was released.
It’s the browser… Why, when there is a quad core ARM Cortex A9 processor behind the scenes and plenty of RAM, is there not a decent one installed?
Sony release Android phones and have other partnerships with Google for TVs and other electronics so it’s crazy and disappointing that a Webkit or Chrome browser isn’t installed.
The Vita has so much potential it’s strange to see Sony holding it back.
There are other low footprint browsers out there with much better and more up to date capabilities than the Netfront one installed.
Also even the PSP has basic Flash support but I’d happily live without this for a HTML5 capable browser.
Please, please Sony get this sorted in a future Firmware update.
As this story was by the SCEE president I hope Mr Ryan will take notice.
I have been a PlayStation customer for 15 years now and will be for a long time to come so I hate to see them shooting themselves in the foot.
Thanks for listening,
Jag

@35, there was a mistake made whereby you would purchase the 79p DLC and the following page would provide you with a link to download the full Golden Abyss game. It has been fixed and lasted about 15 minutes.

why the mini games keep failing

The reason mini games keep failing is a Playstation plus issue that Sony are aware of. Head office are working on it and you will be able to play mini games estimated end march at latest

Perfect design, fits better in my hands too because of the size and round curves. One little downside are those things you have to open to put in a game, those are practically impossible to open if you have no nails and I have to use a scissor for it..
