I’m incredibly pleased to bring you the news that The House of the Dead 4 will be ready for download next month; available exclusively on PlayStation Network on April 18th at the very wallet-friendly price of £6.49/€7.99. This will be the first time this classic arcade light gun shooter is going to be available on a home console, so you can now relive those memories of dimly lit arcade halls, all those coins weighing down your pockets, and that moreish gameplay which kept you playing much longer than you really should have.
If you need a refresher of the game, the premise is simple: you play as AMS Agent James Taylor or Kate Green with the aim of saving the world by fighting against an old enemy and hordes of unforgiving evil creatures. Use your gun and grenades to blast them away!
Key features are:
- PlayStation Move compatible
- Multiplayer mode
- Multiple paths
- Ranking and grading system to track your shot accuracy
- Additional levels from The House of the Dead 4 Special
- Bonus unlockable PlayStation Home item
- Original creator interview
- Trophies
For a limited time only (18th April until 3rd May), Plus members will also have access to a 30% discount on the full game, with Plus members also getting four exclusive PSN avatars which are not available to anyone else.
Hopefully you’re excited as we are about this arcade classic coming to PSN, and if you can’t wait then make sure to check out both House of the Dead 3 and House of the Dead: OVERKILL, which are both available from PlayStation Store now.

Lower price and more content than other companies offer with their arcade ports. This is how you do it, Sega.

Very good price! Looked at HOTD4 on youtube after getting HOTD3 and it looks like a full price PS3 title, so not bad for £6.49!
Bring on the Shemnue! Big demand here, I think!

So maybe we’ll be getting a Shenmue HD, as well as Skies of Arcadia (great DC RPG!)

Forgot to ask, will we be seeing the HOTD 3 Dynamic Theme that the Americans got? And the Sega Blog mentions a HOTD 4 Dynamic Theme, but your post doesn’t. Are we not getting that?

@ CassyChan
Thanks for the link I appreciate it! Although it was teased it pretty much confirms it. I hope Shenmue 2 is included too, but maybe they’ll hold off & see how well Shenmue sells first!
Very happy with this news I just hope they’re released this year, sooner rather than later!

No problemo Catkiller1, I know I’ll be buying Shenmue HD the second it goes up (if/when it does)!
Sega have been on good form this year, Yakuza 5 sounds promising, Dead Souls is cool, Binary Domain is excellent and they’re bringing us more House of the Dead (though I’d still love a port of the best HotD, 2)
