A few weeks ago, we travelled to Sao Paulo, Brazil to meet with our fellow PlayStation bloggers in Brazil and to attend the debut of Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. This was the first time we had an opportunity to play the game, and some members of the development team were there to answer our questions. A few games later, here’s what we learned:
This year, the PES team has lots of new people onboard who are sure to inject new life into this football simulation game, which already has millions of fans around the world. (more…)
Hi everyone – I’m Jeremy Ray, a Senior Producer at Sony’s Worldwide San Diego Studio on the newly announced Sports Champions 2! San Diego Studio and Zindagi Games were blown away with the success of the multi-million unit-seller Sports Champions and are really looking forward to the opportunity to provide new experiences for everyone to enjoy. This time around we are proud to bring you Skiing, Boxing, Tennis, Golf, Bowling and an all updated Archery experience.
To give you a sneak peek at what’s in store, please check out our newest trailer:
Favourite features are back like the surprisingly deep and challenging single player Cup Play, setup whatever you want Free play, and fun arcade Challenge rounds for each event. We’ve made a ton of improvements too, more than I can list but here’s a few anyway. No more 3-point calibration is required (gameplay is not sacrificed), create an avatar that you can customize per event, profile system so everyone in the house can play together with their own avatars and settings, and more customizable and easier to use photo booth.
There’s also a whole new Party Play mode that I hope we get to show more on later. It’s the perfect way to play with your friends and family on game night. Play matches from any combination of events including challenge rounds and add up your score to see who can become the party champion. You can create your own match playlist, see photos and voice from each player during the game, and draw something humiliating (or be nice) on the unfortunate loser.
We can’t wait to show more on Sports Champions 2 this autumn. In the meantime, please continue to check back here on the PlayStation Blog for continued updates!
Unless you are very unlucky you will be enjoying unseasonal good weather, and although we know you don’t want to be stuck indoors watching music videos, you will also not want the party to stop once the sun has gone down so when it does, we have all the videos you need to keep the party started.
From Calvin Harris to Jack Beats, Jeff Buckley to Benga, we have a flotilla of videos that the Queen would approve of for her Jubilee afterparty. Check out below for the deets!
The best of all the zones because we just couldn’t pick one we liked more than another!

Hello good-looking, internet-savvy PlayStation.Blog readers. Now that you’ve been buttered up a bit, DrinkBox Studios is excited to announce that our new Mexican-themed co-op-multiplayer dimension-swapping Metroid-vania beat-em-up platformer, titled “Guacamelee!“, will be released through the PlayStation Pub Fund program!
If you have never heard of Guacamelee! the best thing to do is to open your mind, relax, and watch the below trailer:
I know what you are probably thinking… “What is this ‘Pub Fund’? And what does this mean for ME?”
Well it simply means that you can expect Guacamelee! to exclusively launch on the PlayStation® Network for both the PlayStation® 3 and the PlayStation® Vita. That’s a lot of ®’s! You can also expect the game to take advantage of the special features offered by each of the platforms (details of these to come later – stay tuned).
Set in a world inspired by Mexican culture, Guacamelee! features a down-on-his-luck agave farmer named Juan Aguacate, who sets out to save the world when El Presidente’s Daughter is kidnapped by an Evil Charro Skeleton. The story takes place in and around a small village in Mexico, and has the player travelling through “The World of the Living” and “The World of the Dead” on his quest to rescue the girl he loves.
We’ll be showing the game next week at E3 running on both the PS3 and the PS Vita.
