Gran Turismo fans, start your engines! Back again for 2012, we’re happy to release the new Gran Turismo Academy (released Tuesday 1st May). Take on your friends and GT fans across Europe for your chance to train as a real-life racer. Featuring new challenges released over regular intervals, the Top 16 drivers at the end of the final round will go on to compete in the individual National Finals events, with the best then selected for Race Camp at Silverstone – where they will drive a real Nissan sports car.
Skullgirls, an all-new 2D beat ‘em up from Konami, is finally here to add even more spice to the fighting game community. Created with tournament-level play in mind, Skullgirls is a fresh new game giving the player a colourful cast of characters with some zany gameplay!
Frobisher Says! A new free app that’ll make your head spin. Filled with crazy mini-games utilising the many features of the Vita system, take on Frobisher’s challenges on your own or pass around your Vita with 8 people to see who can get the highest score. Mini games include poking dogs using the touch screen or searching for a bird with the Vita’s motion sensors combined with camera. A truly bizarre game!
We’ve also reduced more titles in delight of our recent announcement of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Check out the Royale Contenders Sale for what’s on offer.
And for PS Plus members, you have the likes of the PS2 Classic Max Payne, Awesomenauts, Hamsterball, Sky Fighter, Smash Cars and more at no cost! You’ll also find Zack Zero at 50% off, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood at 30% off and of course, more! Please refer back to Mr.Ross McGrath’s Plus post right here.
Lastly, keep an eye out on Friday, as Vita owners may see a little bit of Mortal Kombat suddenly appear…

Any price on Mortal Kombat Vita yet?
Posted on 2 May, 2012 at 1:54 pm by James Gallagher
Hey everyone, hope you’re all having happy Wednesdays. Just letting you know that Jawad is out of the office today so he will take a look at your comments and respond where he can tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I can happily confirm that Mortal Kombat will be launching on PS Store for PS Vita on Friday, and I’m updating the post with the details right now.

Hello Jawad
Some new PSP games that are VITA compatible?
Or there will not be any more PSP games for the VITA…?

Posted on 2 May, 2012 at 1:06 pm by CardcaptorStacey
Heard anything about Okami and Atelier Totori avatars? Thanks
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 2:13 pm by Jawad Ashraf
Nothing on either. Okami may be part of a large batch Capcom are looking at submitting.
NIS’ avatars come out rarely and not in sizeable batches so these may appear in a next batch.

Could you guys let us know if the PSN maintenance that some sites are reporting as happening this afternoon is actually happening? Haven’t heard anything official other than a link to Playstation Japan which says it will hit this afternoon at 4pm UK time for 7 hours and will affect the Playstation Store. http://www.jp.playstation.com/psn/state2.html

I tried the trial of Awesomenauts on the US store last night. It’s pretty decent and great that Plus gets it for free too. I’ll download the rest of the freebies I haven’t already got too.
I’m once again just disappointed to see no Doctor Who this week either. Is the one game I’m looking forward to lately and I have money sitting in my PSN account I want to spend on it.

Had such high hopes for that and it really hasn’t delivered much.

Arc Arena is due soon. I’m working on pushing Spyro along still….

Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 2:15 pm by Jawad Ashraf
The Plus blog post is linked to above where Ross has mentioned the various titles on offer.

Looks like a good update to me as a Plus member. Vita selection is weak as always. I guess a lame free game is better than nothing at all though.
No word yet on Walking Dead for Australia?

Here we go again, another major Vita release and absolutely no mention of whether it’ll be on the PSN store or not. Really terrible communication guys, you should really sort this out.

Cheers.

Finally! Skullgirls! Will be picking that one up for sure , along with awesomenauts ^^.
I have 2 questions though.
Could you guys perhaps look into getting the ps1 game ‘spiderman’ , or the ps2 game ‘ultimate spiderman’ on the playstation store? It would be highly apprieciated ^^ Also , are we going to get some more screenshots or a video of the Ratchet & Clank collection. The release it 2 weeks away and all we’ve seen are those 4 screenshots. Kinda getting worried that it might be delayed..

Hi,
Motorstorm arctic edge is still missing from my download list, what can I do?
I’d prefer not to get in contact with customer support as the last time I dealt with them no one knew what they were doing or talking about and it took a couple of weeks to sort out my problem.
Thanks
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 2:25 pm by Jawad Ashraf
I’ve forwarded this on. Hopefully someone will know something about it.

Frobisher Says! is brilliant – those of you without the preorder code, be sure to download it. I’m sure you’ll get the dlc too, worth every single penny.
And Jawad, any word on Tombi or any upcoming sales? Planning to get £50 worth of PSN credit so make it so that I have lots of stuff to use it on!
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 2:27 pm by Jawad Ashraf

Is Max Payne only available on PS3, or can it be played on Vita? I see no reason for the latter as it is available on iTunes (for £2…) and will soon be out on Android. I would much rather be able to put it on my Vita than have to carry around my tablet with a DualShock 3

Hi Jawad, i know this is a bit off topic but i cannot find “new weapon pack 3″ for Dynasty Warriors 7. Has it been taken down? Did you no it was missing & will it be put back on. With that specific item down i cannot get the some of the other dlc because you need that one aswell, again its the NEW WEAPON PACK 3.
Thanks

Hey there!
. I can’t add funds via my card. I tried what you suggested last time and waited for a week, but it still doesn’t work. This seems to happen randomly.
Well, it happened again
Any help?
Thanks in advance and sorry for bugging you with this again, Jawad!
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 2:53 pm by Jawad Ashraf
It may be worth checking with your bank if it no longer let’s you use it on the store at all and assuming the waiting game also does not work. If you are in hurry to buy something then maybe purchase a PSN card for the time being?
I hope it works out for you though.
