Gran Turismo fans, start your engines! Back again for 2012, we’re happy to release the new Gran Turismo Academy (released Tuesday 1st May). Take on your friends and GT fans across Europe for your chance to train as a real-life racer. Featuring new challenges released over regular intervals, the Top 16 drivers at the end of the final round will go on to compete in the individual National Finals events, with the best then selected for Race Camp at Silverstone – where they will drive a real Nissan sports car.
Skullgirls, an all-new 2D beat ‘em up from Konami, is finally here to add even more spice to the fighting game community. Created with tournament-level play in mind, Skullgirls is a fresh new game giving the player a colourful cast of characters with some zany gameplay!
Frobisher Says! A new free app that’ll make your head spin. Filled with crazy mini-games utilising the many features of the Vita system, take on Frobisher’s challenges on your own or pass around your Vita with 8 people to see who can get the highest score. Mini games include poking dogs using the touch screen or searching for a bird with the Vita’s motion sensors combined with camera. A truly bizarre game!
We’ve also reduced more titles in delight of our recent announcement of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Check out the Royale Contenders Sale for what’s on offer.
And for PS Plus members, you have the likes of the PS2 Classic Max Payne, Awesomenauts, Hamsterball, Sky Fighter, Smash Cars and more at no cost! You’ll also find Zack Zero at 50% off, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood at 30% off and of course, more! Please refer back to Mr.Ross McGrath’s Plus post right here.
Lastly, keep an eye out on Friday, as Vita owners may see a little bit of Mortal Kombat suddenly appear…

Bad Company 2: $20usd on the US PSN or $40aud for the Australian PSN.
The AUD is worth MORE than USD, yet we’re charged double?!
$40aud = 41usd. So you’re literally charging DOUBLE the price.
What the f is going on with this extortion? Do you think we’re idiots? I’m never buying from the NZ/AU PSN store ever again. This is just insulting.

Thanks for the update, awesome new titles this week
I have but one question for you guys: Can we expect to see Legend of Dragoon anytime soon in our European PSN?
I remember you guys saying the game was under consideration like a year ago, and if I recall correctly, it was even confirmed for an european release so…any news on that?
Thanks!
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 11:36 am by Jawad Ashraf
It’s still being looked at. It won’t be out anytime soon though. Not for us at least.

@supvic
Hidden taxes. Australia get charged these Hidden Taxes on all their Video Game releases. It’s a joke. I’ve moved to Australia recently from the UK And I’m still using my UK Account to buy stuff on the UK PSN Store as I refuse to pay the joke prices of this country.

The content in the ‘Latest’ section of the PlayStation Vita store still isn’t sorted by the date it was released so it’s hard to find the LATEST content.

@ Jawad
I mentioned to James over the weekend, that Fight Night Champions Full Game Bundle, is within the Earth Defence DLC folder on the Store. Thought I would let you know, incase he forgot to mention it!
Also, there are numerous DLC packs & content that have no description as to what title they belong to & are randomly spread throughout the section. Please rectify this, when the relevant people have some spare time on their hands. Would be far better if the relevant content, is within the correct section of the store!

You probably won’t read this, but I have some requests:
1) PS2 Classic: The Simpsons Hit & Run.
2) WWE Avatars.
3) The Simpsons Avatars.
4) PS2 Classic: Spider-Man 2.
And i would like Marvel vs Capcom avatars. Just so i can get the Spider-Man avatar.

1. Not happening right now.
2. Not heard about these coming through yet.
3. Same scenario.
4. Unlikely given the license.
MvC avatars have are tricky as well because of the license.

lol they dont care about the community and customer demands, i mean who hired you guys? your job as members of the playstation store team is to interact and support with consumers and meet our demands. You rarely reply, always release content we dont want every week and make excuses. Look no further than the blog if you need ideas on how to improve your services, sorry but this is just pathetic.

Hi Jawad
When RE4 HD was announced in Europe,Sony promised free avatars for those of us who bought the game. Some weeks ago those avatars finally appeared in the store and aren´t free for those of us that bought RE4 HD.Are we ever going to get them for free or even we who bought the game, have to pay for them?
Also do you think it’s possible to get the Deus Ex: Human Revolution dynamic theme that SCEA has? Enjoyed the game a lot so would really like to have that theme avaiable for purchase.

i think ps3 games on store should go donw in price after a few weeks or a month take rayman origins i bought it at 49.99 then it went down to 29.99
i hope datura plus discount next week will be about £5 or less and sony dont know how to price games i think they should add a voting system so we can choose how much it should be E.G
49.99 option 1
39.99 option 2
29.99 etc
20.00 etc
but that wont happen
i hope they add more rockstar games to ps2 collection soon
max payne 2 (Missing in action) well look for it please it cant b that lost

I just read that a maintenance window is scheduled for next Wednesday, 4pm to 12am GTM? On the day the European store updates? Do you guys have any influence on such ideas or are you just glorified shop keepers and bloggers?
Sony are the most out of touch company in this industry. They make EA look like saints. I’m sick to death of trying to support them.

“I just read that a maintenance window is scheduled for next Wednesday, 4pm to 12am GTM?”

lucky5guy says MK for Vita is £24.99 in some places… where please?
I’m up for the game but not at PSN prices! Especially as I already paid about sixty quid for the Special Edition for PS3!
Really, Sony NEED to sort out what they’re doing with Vita. I suggest the following:
1) Make it able to play PS1 games. We know why you haven’t, Sony… you want us to buy Vita games.
2) Enable Remote Play for PS3 games. Even if only on the same wifi network. I don’t care about playing it out & about or even in my office… I just want to play Skyrim while my girlfriend is watching TV!
3) Give us some innovative features. Such as, make Vita work as a PS3 controller. For example, imagine playing Skyrim (on your normal TV) and using Vita as a controller, where you can use the touch screen to manage your inventory or quickly change weapon/spell etc. This would be AMAZING. Feasible? Yes. Likely? Probably not, as Sony would have to actually do something, like “work”, rather than sit around being in love with their own brand.

Hey, not the best update for me but I was hoping we’d be getting the ps2 classic “Rayman: Revlolution” like the USA store got
any Idea when/if we will get it? Also The Dr Who Game:The Eternity Clock was originally penned for a “March 2012″ release date, this was then delayed until April it’s almost the 2nd week of may and I’ve still not heard a thing
where has it gone??! :O

Skullgirls finally! Looking forward to playing that; hope it’s as good as I’ve been told.
Will we be getting Legend of Dragoon on the EU Store? It’s often asked about, but I’ve seen no info. It’s a 1st party game that’s had a European release before, so it shouldn’t cause too many problems?

@ Jawad/James..
I posted in the weekly round up a while ago asking about the prices devs set for digital games.. (left unanswered), .. basically do the devs tell you it’s Got to be X price, or (like in retail, online shops) do the devs tell you thats their ‘recommended/own’ rrp.. leaving the Final choice up to the store.. i mean i know the devs don’t recieve All of these set prices, (obviously).. not sure of figures but i ‘believe’ it’s around 1 third.(ish) of a ‘recommended ‘rrp’.. the rest goes to costs, ie delivery to stores, wages for stores staff shelf space and countless other places.. So i just Really need to understand How a dev can ‘force’ the psn to charge Full rrp ?, Please enlighten me on this.
To add insult (maybe), do devs ‘tell’ xbla to charge cheaper than psn,?.. BFBC2, £14.99 on ‘there’. Again i would really appreciate your feedback over this.

1. Why are Disgaea and Hyperdimension DLC not available in Scandinavian territories?
A. This was sadly a decision the publisher has made. At this time it doesn’t seem likely DLC will be available in the region.
[/quote]
Why do SCEE allow this? SCEE should tell the company that either release it to the whole of EU or to not release at all..
Same with the Disgaea 3 why not in Scandinavia, we do bloody read English quite well. So no translation needed.
Second, Crossregion gifting arives when? Pretty sure most here agrees that its a needed feature. And pretty sure people get why I keep asking for it, seeing my previous points..
140
Posted on 2 May, 2012 at 5:26 pm by dgnfly
@Shadowdragoon
it’s SCEE with their demand for native translations off PSN content. they so retarded cause that would mean they had 2 demand all games translated in native language cause they all english!!

Excellent update for Plus users
One question though, in the All-Star Battle Royale sale… why is Killzone listed?
The multiplayer pack in the sale, is the trial, which was free anyway. Why try and make out like it’s an offer? Even on the actual sale page on this blog it says in the brackets next to it “YES! Thats right, it’s FREE!” it always has been. Why have you blatantly tried to make out like it’s something more?
147
Posted on 2 May, 2012 at 5:48 pm by adumr82
Can we please see a sale on New Vegas DLC please, I would appreciate that very much. And are we ever going to see a redesign of the download list. I’m starting to get low on space and will have to delete stuff soon, I don’t want to do this if it will be hell to get back though. I would love it if our game list was more like steam.

Why is Prototype 2 so expensive? Every retail store I’ve been into have been charging only €49.99 for the game yet on PSN it’s €69.99. That’s ludicrous!
I thought buying a digital copy of the game were going to be cheaper, not 40% more expensive. What’s the reasoning behind that?
