Gran Turismo fans, start your engines! Back again for 2012, we’re happy to release the new Gran Turismo Academy (released Tuesday 1st May). Take on your friends and GT fans across Europe for your chance to train as a real-life racer. Featuring new challenges released over regular intervals, the Top 16 drivers at the end of the final round will go on to compete in the individual National Finals events, with the best then selected for Race Camp at Silverstone – where they will drive a real Nissan sports car.
Skullgirls, an all-new 2D beat ‘em up from Konami, is finally here to add even more spice to the fighting game community. Created with tournament-level play in mind, Skullgirls is a fresh new game giving the player a colourful cast of characters with some zany gameplay!
Frobisher Says! A new free app that’ll make your head spin. Filled with crazy mini-games utilising the many features of the Vita system, take on Frobisher’s challenges on your own or pass around your Vita with 8 people to see who can get the highest score. Mini games include poking dogs using the touch screen or searching for a bird with the Vita’s motion sensors combined with camera. A truly bizarre game!
We’ve also reduced more titles in delight of our recent announcement of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Check out the Royale Contenders Sale for what’s on offer.
And for PS Plus members, you have the likes of the PS2 Classic Max Payne, Awesomenauts, Hamsterball, Sky Fighter, Smash Cars and more at no cost! You’ll also find Zack Zero at 50% off, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood at 30% off and of course, more! Please refer back to Mr.Ross McGrath’s Plus post right here.
Lastly, keep an eye out on Friday, as Vita owners may see a little bit of Mortal Kombat suddenly appear…

Hey Jawad,
I don’t usually post here as I’m sure you have enough questions to deal with, but I don’t suppose you know if Legend of Dragoon is headed this way now that the US have it? I sold my physical copy years ago feeling smart thinking it would just come out on the PSN anyway – I’d just love to play through it again.
Cheers
Tim

£35 for Mortal Kombat?
I’m trying to go all-digital with my Vita, but you guys are killing me with these prices. Seriously need to price things more fairly, I literally can’t find a single place selling it for less than £30.

when is the next walking dead episode going to be available for download?

The episodes are planned for a monthly release so you should see something around the end of May, early June.

i think its very unfair on Sty_Azores and the Portuguese and other places that dont get good games we get like gotham city imposters sure they have BBFC rules or what ever but its very unfair for people who keep seeing that some games are not avalable where they are i think sony should put all games everywhere and not say this game is not avalable in etc etc
ITS UNFAIR TO PEOPLE in the Portuguese and other places that what the games we have i think sony should sort it out so everyone everywhere injoys the games we have on the ps store the same time as we do just make them as imports for the Portuguese and others plz sony

Hopefully you read this comment…
Jurassic park : the game seems to be priced incorrectly it’s up at £23.99 on the UK store but priced at $19.99 on Us store, isnt this suppose to be £15.99 (UK) like the other telltale games?
I really want to play this game but i refuse to pay around £5 more just coz i’m in the UK

Sorry but i’m still not convinced on the KZ3 situation. To make matters worse the Trial description states Trial & Unlock! Looks a bit suspicious to me that originally it was going to be included but someone made a mistake!
SCEE………..only does confusion & missinformation!

what an awful update for plus and normal members. Very boring. Only reason i have plus is for the cloud saves but 150mb is not enough. Keep treating customers like crap and you will pay for it.

WHEN IS ENOUGH GOING TO BE ENOUGH.
You are ripping people off and seem to think it is okay to do so.
Battlefield 2 Bad Company 2 was put on the store today for the price of $59.95NZ
Why is it that I can go down the street buy this game for $25NZ on a disc but if I want a digitally distributed copy I have to pay $60?
I didn’t want this game anyway, but its a prime example of the sick state your store is in. Get a life Sony, the only people you would sell a copy of that game to at that price is the intellectually challenged.

Will Legend of Dragoon be making its way onto the PSN store any time soon? :/ Really sad.

Not any time soon, no.
173
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 9:58 am by Darlo-Richie
Jawad, thats not good enough, Legend of Dragoon is Sony’s property it should be released and by rights we should have had it the same week as the US!
What is the problem?
174
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 10:15 am by BigPaja
What about the Flow soundtrack? Will it come next week or later? Why wasn’t it released this week?
Legend of Dragoon in the US… Sony better get their ass in gear and release it in Europe soon because it’s one of the PSOne games I want the most.

I downloaded the Killzone 3 multiplayer titled “Killzone 3 Multiplayer-Trial and Unlock (Trial)” and I cant find the unlock part anywhere. I thought you guys said you’d make KZ3 free? Can you assist, Jawad?

And also Jawad, the Killzone 3 multiplayer full upgrade is still 12 pounds.

Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 10:34 am by Catkiller1
@ OHMSSl3
They’ll try & sugar coat it & state that the description was wrong, but I would say that originally the unlock was included & they were basically told “NO” for it being free! Especially when you read the comment next to it within the SALE.
Confusion, missinformation, pricing errors, typos, delays, & many, many mistakes! No excuse & this has been like this, ever since the outage!

So let me get this right-
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is US$19.95, AU$39.95and NZ$59.95.
A direct and current exchange for US$19.95 is NZ$24.98.
Can you please explain as to why there is a difference of NZ$34.97? Tax?
183
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 11:31 am by proxystar
@Dudley0Neill
No it’s not tax, it’s plain as day EXTORTION AND ROBBERY OF THE CONSUMER IN A REGION WHERE SONY THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT…
as you’ve pointed out the game on the US store costs $19.99US
$19.99US = $19.4157AU
$19.99US = $24.8688NZ
(yes the Americans are still living under the delusion their currency is superior)
Now let’s do the math backwards.
Australians are paying $39.95 for the game, MEANING THEY ARE PAYING $41.1305US FOR THE SAME GAME THE AMERICANS ARE PAYING $19.99US FOR!!
New Zealanders are paying $59.95 for the game. MEANING THEY ARE PAYING $48.1866US FOR THE SAME GAME THE AMERICANS ARE PAYING $19.99US FOR!!
Interestingly enough I can buy the same game on a disc for $35NZ or $28.1331US, still not as cheap as I can buy it from the US Store but somewhat closer and more acceptable.
Examples
http://www.ebgames.co.nz/ps3-149337-Battlefield-Bad-Company-2-PlayStation-3
http://shop.jbhifi.co.nz/game/ps3/battlefield-bad-company-2/451
I find it absolutely atrocious that you can increase the price of the same digital product by more than 100% in one particular region… SHAME ON YOU SONY!
184
Posted on 3 May, 2012 at 11:37 am by proxystar
Hmm wonder whether it’s because I put some links in the post that it requires moderation, or because Sony don’t like negative criticism.

Loving the PS+ update but just one little niggle regarding the Frobisher Says trailer. It’s available to download from the Vita store but once downloaded you can’t watch it on the Vita… *facepalm
It works great when downloaded from the PS3/Store and plays fine via the PS3 but really needs removing from the Vita store or at least changed to a format that the Vita can play.
The app itself is a great bit of free fun though

Hi there, on the New Zealand PSN store, Fat Princess: A Fistful of Cake is not in the battle royale sale and is still priced at $59.99 NZD (equivalent to about £30!!!). ask on tsquare’s blog for chrono cross and the like, them being the publisher.
i bet you’d get a better response than here when we ask about an sce game.
which is either to be ignored, or a flat “no”
i wish i could also get a job that requires so little actual work.

I am still amazed with the poor level of grammar on the SCEE store. Not only can DLC for games not be named concomitantly (example DLC: Deus Ex, DLC: FF XIII, easy to understand, isn’t it?) it has to be “Additional Content for Redident Evil, then “STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN Additional “Contents”".
Yes, the word contents was a direct copy, either SCEE need to have better rules for names of content or they desperately need a spell checker.
The store is full of amateur mistakes like this that would make any other company blush with the knowledge they can’t name content on their own service correctly or coherently.
I remember when it took them 3 years to even have the correct instructions for installing a theme on their own system.
Does anyone even look at the store at SCEE, anyone at all? Or just the guy who fetches the coffee?
Sorry to have a giant moan but I would expect something much more professional from SCEE (SCEA have no trouble with this), and I DO know what a giant task it is but I had the idea that people would check their work before publishing it to millions of customers.
