Welcome!
This week we start off with Sega’s Binary Domain, which will now be available to download from our store from today! Set in a distant future of the year 2080, Tokyo has been invaded by robots. Take charge in a battle for humanity and give the machines an ending they did not expect! PS Plus members will have a two week period to purchase a 15% discounted rate.
Discover an eerie, intriguing realm in this unique interactive art experience where little is as ever as it seems and mystery and surprise await your every move.
Open the gates to a dreamlike forest, follow the paths between the trees, interact with your surroundings and attempt to answer three questions: why are you here? What are you supposed to do now? And is there a way out?
For the curious – for those willing to face the depths of their own conscience – the answers will be revealed by exploring the world of Datura.
PS Plus members will also have two weeks to purchase Datura at 20% off.
Other titles this week also include demos for Zack Zero and Spec Ops: The Line, as well as Arc Arena and Just Cause being our new PS2 and PSone Classics, respectively.
Andy has also been working on securing some new deals in a new sale with a somewhat retro theme to it. Did you never get round to purchasing Final Fight: Double Impact or *deep breath* Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? How about some of the PixelJunk games such as PixelJunk Monsters or PixelJunk Eden? If you haven’t jumped to the bottom already then you may want to also know that PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter and PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap are cheap as chips (cheaper maybe) for PS Plus members at just €0.99! Check out the list of titles in the sale right at the bottom.
As usual, this week’s content is below.

And still we wait for Sony to send out Renegade Ops codes
I know Mike Kebby suggested contacting Sega but don’t see why if Sega can sort it why can’t Sony who handled the promotion. Bizarre to say the least.
Anyways, Datura, MS:RC dlc and maybe pick up couple Pixeljunk games I’ve overlooked previously this week.
Is it possible we will ever see the GT5 Stealth cars on store or the old GT games on store as PSOne/PS2 Classics? I’m assuming its a license issue with the soundtracks seeings as Sony already have the manufacturer licenses for GT5

Just posting my weekly Legend of Dragoon request. Can you tell us what the problem is? It’s a 1st party game that already got a European release.
Nice prices on the PS1 and PS2 Classics sale. The Pixeljunk games… not so much.

Hi Jawad,
That’s totally unfair. That’s the second time US gets Uncharted 2 DLC for free, once PS+ members had that offer, and now it’s free for all US users. We (European) were not presented with either offer. that’s not fair.. Please, pull your strings and try as much as you can to get these DLCs for us as well.
I’m sure you’ll do it
Thanks

I have heard that US players are going to get Uncharted 2 DLCs for free, is there a chance that will happen for us EU players too?
Beside that, is there any chance we can get a discount on LBP DLCs? They cost 6€ each (MGS & PotC) and it’s been a long time since they’ve been released…

How comes America got the PixelJunk games for $1 each and we’re getting them for £3.19?

The difference between the US and European pixeljunk sales is downright insulting.

geez someone actually wants Night Trap? It could never be HD up as it was shot in SD – the game was originally developed for tech that never came out – the only reason Sega put it out as the Hasbro NEMO system was canned – otherwise it was a really crap game – if you need to see Dana Plato that badly may I recommend Different Strokes : the story of Jack and Jill…and Jill
Datura for me – as I like my psychoactive hallucinogens to be deadly

This is a bit silly really. So in the American store, the Pixel junk games are reduced to $1 FOR EVERYONE, and in the case of Eden, Monsters and Second lap, you get all 3 for $2, again FOR EVERYONE
The sale comes to England, and you’re charging over £3 for them? and PS+ members get them for slightly shy of £1.
Surely everyone should be getting them at 99p? and PS+ for 79p or something at least close to the US offer? This is ridiculously poor that everytime sales transfer from the US store, we get shafted and you don’t bother to actually convert the prices. You charge us the same price (with a £ sign instead of $) or in this case, keep it raised high above. It’s been stated that you want to get all the store on level terms with each other before. Great. So stop screwing over Europe and charging us more than the other regions.

PixelJunk huge Sale (0.99) is only for Plus members in Europe? that’s a shame…
Another greedy move from SCEE. Not surprised.

Before you make the mistake of buying the Dead Space “Super” Bundle for £23.99… go buy the boxed version of the game from Play.com for £10 and then buy the DLC bundle for £7.99. £17.99 is better than £23.99!

Hi Jawad,
I’ve mentioned this before but nothing seems to have been done about it yet. Locoroco 2 is in the Essentials range on UMD but not as a download on the store, and is still priced at £14.99 last time I checked. When will this be amended?
The reason I ask is because I own the UMD but would really like it as a download, and I’m not prepared to spend over £10 for something I’ve already bought once. I’m surprised it’s taking so long for this to get changed, especially as it’s been an Essential title for so long now.
Aside from this gripe, I am really pleased to see PJ Sidescroller on sale. I love both PJ Shooter 1 and 2, and while I enjoyed the Sidescroller demo I’m afraid that I didn’t want to get it a full price, so at least I can finally play the full game now!

I’ll let Andy know and hopefully something will come of it.

“part PlayStation Move adventure, part interactive art concept” – The first part of that had me curious but ‘interactive art concept’ really just put me off.
Still waiting for Doctor Who. Money’s been sat in my PSN account for a while since I traded in stuff to GAME to clear my flat and then spent it all on PSN vouchers cos there’s nothing in GAME I wanted (and also it’s hard to know if they’ll even be around when something actually comes out that I’d want).
Even the special offers don’t appeal to me. Final Fight is still fun after all these years but I’ve already got it. SSFIITHDRemix is a travesty and overpriced even there and I simply do not care for any of the Pixeljunk games. I wish they were more pixelly and less junky.

also the Vita i fear it’s going to end like PSP GO there’s rarerly a Vita game around & yesterday the US got free uncharted 2 dlc & pixeljunk anniversary sale games for $1 why is europe treated like third class citizens? about a week ago i read in CVG that the PS3 sells more in europe , XBOX360 sells more in the US & the 3DS sells more in japan. how come europe is being treated like this in terms of content when it’s clearly we are the ones keeping PS3 going strong huh?

@ The_Soviet_Star where you from you not with SCEE when did you get that avatar from? because EU hasn’t got it.

Don’t buy the pixel games from the EU Psn store. Just create a US account and get a Plastation network card.
Btw, adding two psp games to the vita compatibility list in two weeks isn’t progressive.
And, If Sony bothered to put up a schedule or an announcement of 5-10 psp games every month, one problem in their backlog of promised features would be resolved for the meantime.

@klotX I believe plus users did get the uncharted stuff but it was on an irregular day, unpromoted and for a short space of time. because SCEE are that good to us

I’m not gonna start moaning about the PixelJunk sale even if I do feel a little bit cheated. But I check the update every week and people are always comparing the European update to the American update and there are always complaints. Sometimes I feel the blog could help themselves by explaining why certain things happen like the PixelJunk sale being different and the Uncharted DLC not appearing. If you explain the reasons maybe people wouldn’t complain so much.

The thing that [DELETE] me off the most is that we wait a whole week and expect some good PS one and PS2 Classics and we get 1 Import and Just Cause only. Now we have to wait another week and for what. We need information on what the hell is comning up and we need release dates. There are so many awesome PS2 Classics and we get 1 only which i’m not interested in and i’m sure alot of others arn’t either. Arc the Lad is good at least, i’m a huge JRPG fanatic but seriously we could have gotten a couple more games because waiting a week for 1 PS one Classic and 1 PS2 Classic is kind of dumb.

Last week’s Plus Update was great by the way. Had a couple games already but Awesomenauts was decent as were some of the older games. Found myself oddly enjoying that Mahjong. No idea why. Nice relaxing game though. Same reason I bought Pure Chess I suppose.

Any update on those Resident Evil 5 and Asura’s Wrath avatars? (I’ve already given up on the Marvel vs Capcom 3 avatars since those were released over a year ago on the US store…)
Has Capcom already submitted them? Or are they floating in Sony approval limbo?
It’s Asura’s Wrath DLC for me this week.

Hello Jawad! I have one thing that is bothering me.
The Lack of Previews
We’re not on XBL, so we’re kinda grudgingly used to the fact that not every game has a trial version. But if there is a possibility of a trial version, there should be one. If not, then at least a trailer or a collection of screenshots. That should be the case with DLC, too. So why are there numerous games and pieces of DLC with no preview at all? Other content is the same case. There are dynamic and normal themes and wallpapers with a price tag but without previews. Again, why? Does Sony let the publishers decide whether or not to add previews? If that is the case, then I am appalled! That should be changed immediately!

@adumr82, you’re right, I have those DLCs, but as you stated it was unannounced, I have a friend telling me to go to the store and download it, it was made available on a friday evening, and was pulled out on sunday, not a single post was given that day
SCEE didn’t say anything about it, so it became unnoticed by the vast majority of Plus members.
Even though, and you agree with me, it is not fair !

I can’t understand why we have to pay £3.19 for the Pixeljunk series here in the UK when the US have them on offer for $1.
Is this SCEE being greedy or was it decided by Q-Games???

Hi Jarad,
Is it correct that Metal Slug 2 is not Vita compatible?
That’s strange because the first Metal Slug is, and I’m pretty sure it is Vita compatible in the US.

I’ll look into this. This is the case as far as I can tell though.

A few of the awesome titles released on ipad today alone:
NOVA 3
LostWinds2
Gratuitous Space Battles
COUNT OF IOS APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS THIS MONTH:
This Month (Games): 905 ( 129 / day )
This Month (Non-Games): 4,809 ( 687 / day )
This Month (Total): 5,714 ( 816 / day )
I mean seriously SONY. Get a grip on your business model.
We purchased the VITA thinking you would do what it takes to make something of it.
Where are the incentives for new developers? Where are the game announcements? Where are the game releases.
You are – as always – pathetically showing your age in an industry that you should be dominating.
You had a chance here to take back the handheld market. You aren’t giving anyone confidence so far. How do you expect to ship any more units when there is literally nothing to play on it.
I have played more PSP titles on my VITA than dedicated VITA games. You are an embarrassment to yourselves and your customers.

Wow just saw the PixelJunk prices. Insanity strikes again.
Which retard decided on that pricing? It’s an insult to customer loyalty that there would be such disparity in pricing on PlayStation only titles between USA and EU.
There is no excuse for this. But it’s not as if the people here with legitimate complaints ever get appeased. After all we don’t pay the bills here….oh wait.

Hey Ninestein,
You’re right, Metal slug 2 on psp is compatible with the Ps Vita in the US.
It must’ve been really difficult to make that game vita-compatible for the UK…. NOT!

Also, what is that Warhawk PSOne Classic in the “downloads – more images” section on the right of this blog? Warhawk wasn’t released in Europe as a PSOne Classics yet, has it?
Posted on 9 May, 2012 at 4:22 pm by Jawad Ashraf
Warhawk is an exclusive for those who redeem their Starhawk online pass.

@windsorblue01
It doesn’t matter if I have them or not, it’s simply not playing fair for the european users and that’s what I’m pointing out.
I’m not complaining, I’m just stating a fact and reinforcing that US and EU members get way different treatment by the same (mother) company and the same gaming platform.
I’m sure that the more voices bringing these facts up to the surface the more feedback and power we and EU PSN team have to make a change.
I’m not trying to be the one here complaining, I’m trying to be plus one. One rarely makes a difference.
I hope this clarifies my position.
