Welcome!
This week we start off with Sega’s Binary Domain, which will now be available to download from our store from today! Set in a distant future of the year 2080, Tokyo has been invaded by robots. Take charge in a battle for humanity and give the machines an ending they did not expect! PS Plus members will have a two week period to purchase a 15% discounted rate.
Discover an eerie, intriguing realm in this unique interactive art experience where little is as ever as it seems and mystery and surprise await your every move.
Open the gates to a dreamlike forest, follow the paths between the trees, interact with your surroundings and attempt to answer three questions: why are you here? What are you supposed to do now? And is there a way out?
For the curious – for those willing to face the depths of their own conscience – the answers will be revealed by exploring the world of Datura.
PS Plus members will also have two weeks to purchase Datura at 20% off.
Other titles this week also include demos for Zack Zero and Spec Ops: The Line, as well as Arc Arena and Just Cause being our new PS2 and PSone Classics, respectively.
Andy has also been working on securing some new deals in a new sale with a somewhat retro theme to it. Did you never get round to purchasing Final Fight: Double Impact or *deep breath* Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? How about some of the PixelJunk games such as PixelJunk Monsters or PixelJunk Eden? If you haven’t jumped to the bottom already then you may want to also know that PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter and PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap are cheap as chips (cheaper maybe) for PS Plus members at just €0.99! Check out the list of titles in the sale right at the bottom.
As usual, this week’s content is below.

@Skookie: That avatar is from the asian deluxe version of FFXIII. I also have it but can’t use it since I have a european PSN account. (Also it’s expired now). I believe their flag is Hong Kong

the Pixeljunk series, Uncharted 2, and Legend of Dragoon.
what two things are common to all three.
1: they’re all published by sony computer entertainment.
and
2: they’re all available for sale, in a sale for all, or having their dlc free, in the us but not in europe on their official sony playstation store.

I love how in the US the PixelJunk games are $0.99 for EVERYONE but only for PS Plus users in Europe. Why does Sony constantly give it’s European users a worse service?
I can’t see me buying a console next gen if Sony keep this [DELETED] up, I’m going to stick to my PC.

So the store has been updated with all those PS1 & 2 games and none are even worth playing let alone paying for !! Where are all the good games ? There are literally hundreds of classics on these consoles, the very foundation of gaming exists on playstation’s back catalogue so let them loose dammit !
Also Binary Domain is now £11.96 at Amazon, not so much of a saving now huh ?
And lastly could we have a free demo/trial for Datura please. It does look very interesting !

Hey Jawad nice pixeljunk sale, but it seems we don’t have the bundle pack like the US.
Anyway I was wondering if u have any news about persona 3 release in europe?
Thanks

Any chance of WRC 4 or WRC:Rally evolved can make it part of the ps2 classics? Been disappointed with all the rally games on the PS3.

@Catkiller1, thank you. I appreciate that but my point is that Sony should have sorted this by now. Not Sega. Sony cocked up with the Play promo, firstly with Payday and then Renegade Ops but no one is willing to take responsibility or correct it other than Mike who shouldn’t need to get involved to resolve it. Its been an ongoing problem where codes aren’t sent within any reasonable time period or in some cases, like Renegade Ops, not sent even after about 5 months after release of the associated content. If Mike/Sega is sending out codes does this mean Sony have washed their hands of it?

like some other guys asked before.
Are there some News about the release Date for Pinball Arcade? Is it already in the process? or not. If you can´t answer it, a short statement would be nice. Thx.

Jawaad pardon my ignorance but I think I speak for most of the eu ps community when I say we are fed up of SCEA being heavily favoured over ourselves , we put way more money in Sony’s pockets than America do , yet we get continually screwed over in regards to Content , Sony do realise the PS3 will never do better than the 360 in America right? it honestly feels like Sony spends most of there time trying to convince Americans to ditch the 360 and come to PS3 but it hasn’t worked out so far has it and probably never will.

Another disappointing week for psvita i see. I seem to be confused are you wanting to sell the device or not?. What was is Sony said once, content is King.
Major releases outside launch line up in feb include MK,Motorstorm RC,Unit 13,Disgea 3 and Pure chess. Its like you not even trying 3 months after launch. What happened to regular fresh content. Still no word on Zen pinball 2 or pinball arcade, Sound shapes, Doctor who etc etc. Piece of advice get psvita into as many hands as possible, tour country’s with booths so joe public can see the devices potential etc and get regular new content on there for those launch day purchasers. If something doesn’t change i can say how much longer i’m gonna be a proud psvita owner for.

MR Jawad Ashraf its a simple question “Why the price difference on the PixelJunk stuff”
Answer 1: thats just how it is..
Answer 2: I’ll Look into it there may have been an issue with the price conversion.
If you have to ask a higher up …so be it..

EU is a very strong market for Sony, stronger than the USA. And what do we get for that? More expensive prices (PixelJunk pricing is a joke), no free DLC.

Posted on 9 May, 2012 at 4:59 pm by lardteamaker
@166 no brainer then really for me. No sale if the developer tried and couldn’t because of something on the EU end then unfortunatly that’s the reason i’m not going to buy.

Odd move by SCEE with the PixelJunk ‘sale’, they walked straight into bad PR & can’t be bothered to explain themselves.
The only thing I can think of is that SCEE are desperate to get people to sign up to PS+

Still not getting the Disgaea 4 DLCs? why? If it’s true that SCEE is demanding the text for storeentry in Norwegian, DO NOT DO THAT, WE CAN READ ENGLISH YOU BLOODY FOOLS.

Found another one, On the PS3, under Vita Games, the Hige sqaure that shows “ads” On the Top Sellers picture there is the game Disgaea 3, when I enter (X button) the picture, It do not show up in the screen whit the games, either let us buy it or remove it from that picture, it is false advertising and its actually illegal for you to show it as purchaseable and not have it for sale. (Yes, I am getting annoyed enough at SCEE idiocy to consider using things like legal ways to get back at SCEE however small and probably not much more than a blip on the lower managements screen).

“It’s exclusive to those who redeem their Starhawk online pass only.”
it could be on PSN but not for free, here another cheap gimick at the cost of EU ppl that wants ps1 classics.

About the Pixceljunk price fiasco…. I think No-one has added how us PLUS subbers are supposed to feel about this.. obviously i and most of us aren’t happy it’s PLUS only… But i ain’t very pleased that this ‘offering’ will be considered by the store/plus team as a actual contribution towards Our monthly gains… ie IF it was the same price for all, like in the US, We would still get (maybe) different (and Better, imo.) content, But No, give them, (EU,PLUS) the US ‘leftovers’, Again… Am i the only one thats spotted this different side to this Bad move by scee… Whatever way you look at it it’s a shame and a Insult.. speaking of which, Why doesn’t ‘someone’ have the deceny to Reply to at least ONE of this blogs MAJOR topics.. WE Know Walking Dead is monthly etc… Stop Ignoring VALID comments, please.

@171, shadowdragon:
According to a small FAQ blurb at the end of last week’s PSN update post (after pertering about it for several weeks), apparently it was the publisher’s explicit decision to withhold all current NIS DLC (Disgaea 4, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, etc.) content from customers in Scandinavia and Poland.
As for the actual reasoning behind this decision, one can only guess. They don’t want our money, it seems.

Ross has a PS Plus blog post up going through this month’s content. He’ll have another one up for next month at the tail end of the month.
LOL
he said Plus Sub offers … not offers for monthly stuff.
As in ‘buy 1 year get 1 month free’ or something like that.
Jawad plz read questions before u reply … its not really professional.
And fix the PJ prices to the US standard too

The thing is, PixelJunk have a new experimental game coming out soon, but they just lost a huge chunk of their fanbase in a whole continent with one poor move, this is going to damage the company pretty badly, not to mention that despite the price being so much dearer of the ‘sale’ games, they’ll still earn less from those because so few will actually go out of their way to buy them (mostly those who weren’t aware of how cheap America got them). I suppose what I’m saying is, atleast we have some solace in that PJ are screwing themselves over too. Morale: Don’t try sales promises you can’t keep

Brilliant price for Binary Domain, really fantasic game. I’d get it myself if I hadn’t already paid full price with my pre-order and got an import copy too
Anyone into TPS games should check out BD, the robot dismemberment mechanic is great, there’s plenty of really good and varied enemies, lots of great boss fights, entertaining story and characters (like any game from the Yakuza studio) etc

On the PlayStation Store, the section on the right hand side of the main page advertising the newest content is wrong.
When it comes to the sale section it shows Street Fighter II, Worms & PixelJunk Monsters.
I believe that there isn’t a sale on anything Worms related at the moment but please correct me if i’m wrong.

I quote myself:
“Where is “Velocity”?
a) It’s UK exclusive and we misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
b) It’s coming __.__.____ . We misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
c) We are ignoring you again. Trololololololo-lol-lo-lol-lo-loo!”
And C it is!

A no response doesn’t mean you’re beig ignored, come on now.
I’m going to speak Ross about it and see what we can do. From what I know the game wasn’t made available everywhere.

Yesterday, when I saw the USA update I want to buy ALL the PixelJunk games and maybe the new game next week. Now, with the “european” price (4 euros per game) I am not goind to buy ANYTHING. ZERO. Even the new game. I am very angry… >:(

*sigh* Nothing but more complaints as well due to Sony’s ignorance with expensive pricing for PixelJunk games when they are 3.19 while in US they are $1.
Well, looks like the Vita is getting crap content then ever now and is slowly turning into A PSPGO. I’ve already giving it a year.

I call bulls**t from jawad. If scee really wanted to offer the same they would have. they had no interest in a fair deal and more interest in Europeans subsiding americans. the comments from the pixeljunk guy confirm this.

Are you guys serious about these PixelJunk prices?
Instead of paying $2 in the US, I have to pay $11, and because of your stupid pricing I have to pay $20 for the credit for my account.
So instead of getting $2 or even more from, say, the US bundles, PixelJunk is getting $0. And further discounts for PS Plus users in Europe, but not in the US? Give me a break.
It’s like how we pay double for everything. $120AUD for $60USD games. $11AUD for $2USD games. And sometimes, I just get sick of it.

Jawad, PS are releasing poor PS2 titles that nobody wants!
If you release games like GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas, then you’ll see sales!
Same as Silent Hill 4 and the other more popular classics.
Posted on 10 May, 2012 at 9:36 am by Jawad Ashraf
The big ones are definitely getting a look into. When or if they come out isn’t so easy to pin down, though.

When will you make Killzone: Liberation [PSP] compatible with VITA?
* Is there any option to make PSPGo ambassador games (Everybody’s Golf and Resistante: Retribution) compatible with VITA? Paid version are.
Thank You. Greetings.
Posted on 10 May, 2012 at 9:31 am by Jawad Ashraf
PSP compatibility is an ongoing process for a variety of games. If it isn’t working it may do in the future (or the game hasn’t been looked at just yet).
There are no plans to change the PSPGo Ambassador games to work with Vita.

Great to see the Pixeljunk series available nice and cheap.
Also a parliamentary enquiry has been signed off on here in Australia to investigate the disproportionately high prices of software down under. I’m sending through some details of the PSN price comparison where the AU prices do not reflect the active exchange rate.

The EU store is a shame. Give me Persona 3 already.
Let’s not even talk about this version of the sale.

Persona 3 is available in all EU territories. Are you not able to find it?

Was going to buy pixel junk games but will not to protest against all those unfair practices that are going on European store.
Also I just checked out of curiosity whats the relationship between USD and AUD… good thing Australian chaps has such a weak currency… oh wait what? its almost 1:1 and they have to pay 100% more? is this for real?

Oh and I forgot to mention the slap in the face Polish gamers are getting.
Oh wow there is a Disgaea 4 content there… oh sorry it’s just an icon. Same with VITA section, a big ad to the left is showing Disgaea 3 game but nope… it’s not there.
If you cut some content from particular stores at least do it properly…. this is just trolling…

Everyone should bombard every blog post on the EU blog until the pixeljunk pricing fiasco is at least explained.

It was a hard decision SCEE had to make and we’re discussing it internally.
