Welcome to the fourth blog on Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock.
I’m Simon Harris, the Executive Producer for BBC Worldwide on the game which means the project is my overall responsibility. It’s my duty to ensure all aspects come together to make a great game and that the game is true to Doctor Who. This means working with the developer, Supermassive Games on the design, art and programming and working with the Doctor Who team in London and Cardiff to ensure that everything looks and feels as it should.
Last night was the culmination of the last year’s work. The game went live for PS3 on the Playstation Store across Europe, Australia & the US yesterday and last night we held a press event with our partners Sony to celebrate the launch.
SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) kindly shared their central London office with us for a press launch event in their bar. We were thrilled to have so many journalists attending including The Times and the Guardian together with a multitude of independent gaming and Doctor Who fan sites. I got to stand up and provide a little flavour on the journey we have taken with Supermassive Games, Sony and the wider Doctor Who team to create the game. We shared a couple of video compilations of game footage and then I took questions from the floor. Finally, they got to go and play the game on PS3 and PS Vita whilst of course having the odd drink and a bite to eat.
Feedback from the journalists was really, really positive and now I get to wait with the team for the first reviews to hit.
It’s been an incredible journey building this first Doctor Who title for BBC Worldwide and it’s been great fun sharing our progress with your via this blog. I hope you all enjoy the game and please send your feedback to our twitter account @DoctorWhoTEC and hashtag #doctorwhotec.

Uhm…. -raises hand- very well done to Stuart, but can i ask why Supermassive only had one QA Tester?
worst thing about this game is that it’s extremely buggy.
i’m not complaining about the game though, just finished it and i found it highly enjoyable, made a short review about it as well ( just here in case: http://ivan-causey.deviantart.com/journal/Doctor-Who-the-Eternity-Clock-Review-304062211 )
Now to find Supermassive and see if i can get a job

Here’s a very good question: will there be an incentive to get both versions of the game? I’m not expecting a Motorstorm-style ‘free’ extra version but will there be a certain % discount on the Vita version if you have bought the PS3 one?
Looking forward to getting this – waiting till tomorrow to either get the disc version (if the price is right…) and if the price is crap I will then get the download at the brilliant price of £13.99.

@3 – That review is a load of crap which can’t be taken seriously. I’m getting it because most people do like it, and based on the near-perfect rating on PSN I’d agree with the ‘right’ majority.

Any chance of those made for PC Doctor Who games(The Adventure Games i.e City of the Daleks, Blood of the Cybermen)coming to PS3 soon?
+ any chance of a PSN Demo of ‘Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock’?

@ Huono_peleis
That review was utter tripe & juvenile, to say the least. The reviewer came across like a spoilt little kid, so how do you expect us to take it seriously?
This review is more fitting: http://goo.gl/VCz2G

@ Simon Harris
Any chance you could sort out the glitches? They’re abysmal!
It’s mainly to do with the AI. I’ve had to restart loads of levels because River has gotten stuck or frozen. It’s very frustrating.
At one point there was no dialogue, I could hear the music and effects but no dialogue.
I’ve already contacted Supermassive Games and BBC Games Support.

I wouldn’t take note of the PSN rating either! Most purchasers will give a rating as soon as the game has been purchased, because they like it.
You’re better off reading feedback on here, as ani123 has kindly posted or watch some youtube video reviews, so you can see the flaws played out in front of you.

It was silly review, I know, the guy is just in desperate need of an attention I suppose.
I tried to google for a review since there is nothing in the Metacritic and found 3. That was the first. Then there was OPM and they have a habbit of overrating the games that Sony has hyped a lot because… you know, it’s Official. The trird review was all about bugs and clithes and very little about gameplay.
I know that Doctor Who is Britains national treasure of some sort but there is no need to get so defensive. I found the review just funny – it could have been written by that cool Richard guy that hang arounds on this blog a lot.

Doctor who what a terrible show never understood it is it a comedy or drama? How about a red dwarf game now that’s a brilliant tv series.

I was getting defensive, as you posted a link to a vile & vulgar review. Doctor Who Britains National Treasure of some sort…..ummmm NO!
Doctor Who is terrible imo, awful acting, awful CGI & it’s just as bad as Sanctuary & Primeval. I prefer the original Doctor Who, way back when I was little. I still don’t understand how people like the modern Doctor Who show, but then again we’re all different & have different tastes & appeals.
Also the link I provided wasn’t biased, as it was OPM, the score was still a 6. I don’t listen to reviews anyway, I listen to my friends opinions & watch video reviews, as you can see the gameplay & understand what the reviewer is talking about due to it being on display.
IMO this game looks awful & it’s aanother rushed AMY title!
