‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Plus Update – 6th June 2012

PlayStation Plus has changed!

By now, you’ve probably seen what’s going on with the US PlayStation Plus update in June and the ‘Instant Game Collection’ and I’m certain you’re all excited to see what we’ve got in Store for you too.

Well I’ve got a lot to go through with you so brace yourself and please keep your arms and legs inside the blog post at all times.

So let’s cover all that shall we?

First of all, you’re still going to get MASSES of discounts on all kinds of stuff in Store, both Plus exclusive and extra discounts on Special offers.

You’re still going to get exclusive dynamic themes, avatars and access to beta trials – in fact we’ve got some truly fantastic betas coming before the end of the year for you.

Then, there are the games. From now on, the watchwords are more and better. More new games, more digital Blu-ray, more of the very best the PlayStation®Store can provide.

You’re getting 10 games up front and from next month, 3 of those games will change, and you’ll get at least 3 games per month thereafter.

The important thing is that whenever you decide to join PlayStation®Plus, there will be a minimum of 10 games for you to start playing right away.

So which games? Let’s go take a look. Oh and if you see a number in brackets, it’s a Metacritic score for your reference.

PlayStation®Plus Presents

Not content with offering you those 10 titles I also have another small announcement to make – here in SCEE we’ll be running a little sideline within Plus called ‘PlayStation®Plus Presents…’

We’ll be searching for the very best independently developed titles for PlayStation 3 right now and in the future – those games that really stand out we’ll hand pick for our Plus subscribers. Each ‘PlayStation®Plus Presents’ game will be available to download in Plus at no extra cost for 8 weeks from the moment it launches on the Store, meaning that as well as blockbuster titles, as a Plus subscriber you’ll be able to play the very best of indie too.

Our first PPP title will be an extremely cool little shooter called Retro/Grade – it won the Audience Award at IndieCade 2010 and was a finalist for Excellence in Audio and Excellence in Design in the 2009 Independent Games Festival. I urge you all to go and check it out because you’ll get to play it soon enough.

Retro/Grade is just the first such title that will be available at no cost to Plus subscribers when it launches later this summer.

Now you know what’s yours for the taking, I’m sure you have some questions.
I’ve tried to answer a few pre-emptively below.

What about my PS one, PS2 and minis?

Based on all the feedback we’ve had from you guys over the last couple of years, we’ve decided that our subscribers would be better served by offering you more digital Blu-ray titles and top of the line PSN games, rather than scrabbling around to find a compelling PS one or minis titles. That said, if a truly awe inspiring minis title or one of the greatest PS one or PS2 titles that ever existed suddenly shows up on PS Store, you can bet your britches that we’ll secure it for you.

How come SCEA subscribers get 12 games and we only get 10?

It’s true, SCEA get two more games than SCEE subscribers up front.

However, most titles in SCEA Plus will stick around for 16 weeks before being refreshed – in SCEE we keep games for a maximum of 12 weeks, which means we rotate through more games in a full year – in fact we are committed to delivering over 45 games to you as part of your subscription before June 2013, and that’s before we factor in any extra minis or PS one titles that might show up. Additionally, any ‘PlayStation®Plus Presents’ games will be extra to the standard game rotation.

Will those 45 games include repeating games that have already been offered in Plus from the past?

As you’ve already seen, some of the games that are being provided to you may have been discounted in Plus before – we will try to keep this to a minimum. We’ve committed to offering only the absolute best games available on the PSN Store, which means meeting a minimum quality requirement. I cannot guarantee that you won’t be offered a game that has been discounted before but there will be more than enough brand new titles and games that have never been in Plus to provide you an astonishing amount of value, even if you purchased all of those discounted games previously. What we won’t do is ever offer something that’s been included as a 100% discount title before unless it’s a true ‘second-chance’ offer – that means it doesn’t count towards your total.

—————-

Guys, while you’re reading this I am almost certainly asleep in a strange bed in California so please bear with me – I will do my best to respond to as many comments as I can while I’m here at E3.

In the meantime, I want to see feedback, I want to see suggestions for games to be included later in the year, I want to hear anything you have to say about these changes!

In the meantime, enjoy the anticipation of receiving five top class digital Blu-ray titles, four of the best of the Store’s back catalogue and one brand new PSN game, all still just £39.99/€49.99 for a year’s subscription.

And of course, if you join right now, there’s still time to get May’s content as well.

wicked, awesome and so on… probably the best opportunity to get the ps+ for those who haven’t got it yet. nice update.

sentry-23 5 June, 2012 @ 1:49 pm   2

Very cool line up, although I’ll definitely miss the Minis. So will you bring something else to Vita plussers?

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:07 pm

We know people are seen to see PS Plus involved with PlayStation Vita and are listening closely to your feedback on the subject. That’s all I can say at this time.

vicheous 5 June, 2012 @ 1:50 pm   3

Nice ;-)

Amazing, thanks, this is the best reason yet to be a PlayStation Plus member. One question though.

Can we play the games throughout our entire Plus subscription? Or do they stop being playable once they are taken off the list of 10 games?

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:09 pm

Good question! That aspect is the same as before – the dates for availability are regarding your initial download of the game – the same as now.

If you make sure that you go and opt to download a game before it exists Plus, then you can download it and keep playing it for as long as you’re a subscriber.

Likewise, if you are running short of space, you can delete it from your hard drive and retrieve it from your download list at ANY time – but you have to keep your subscription active.

Also, I’d love to get more followers on Twitter – @MakoD

Mattrapid441 5 June, 2012 @ 1:51 pm   6

Top Wants

Tombi – PS1
Crash Nitro Kart – PS2

Gokhanca 5 June, 2012 @ 1:52 pm   7

nice line-up, thanks… but i’ve got one question:

will PS+ stay as PS3+, or can we see some PSVita freebies/exclusives/discounts soon?

Need a bigger hdd :(

ssorc_bro 5 June, 2012 @ 1:53 pm   9

Ah after just seeing that the US lineup included R&C:All4One, I was hoping we’d be getting that too, but oh well, maybe in the next update aye ? lol

Great improvement guys,thumbs up!

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:13 pm

That’s a distinct possibility and another good point.

The schedule for PlayStation Plus is set for a good while but it has been designed to be a little bit fluid.

If you want to see a game included – ANY game – ask for it. That’s not a promise to deliver but a promise to look into it.

ImperatorA3 5 June, 2012 @ 1:54 pm   10

Looks interesting.

GrumpyMcGrump 5 June, 2012 @ 1:54 pm   11

as PSMako already asked this, are those 10 games playable throughout my entire playstation plus subscription and every 3 months 2 new games are added? or are the games only playable for 3 months?

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:13 pm

Playable for as long as you remain a subscriber and accessible in your download list, as long as you downloaded them initially.

almighty-slayer 5 June, 2012 @ 1:54 pm   12

Already own all of those.

So uh, thanks but no thanks :)

mr-malro 5 June, 2012 @ 1:55 pm   13

Ah, no Ratchet & Clank? Meh… might just buy the American PS+, buy some cards online. xD

almighty-slayer 5 June, 2012 @ 1:55 pm   14

Well, i don’t own Space Marines, but there’s a very good reason for that :P

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:22 pm

Which is? Have you actually tried it? I was pleasantly surprised after I got over the first bit. I wouldn’t have put it into Plus if I didnt think it was fun.

Pesico 5 June, 2012 @ 1:55 pm   15

This is really cool. Getting MotorStorm and Outland. Suggestion for next update: R&C:All4One.

WolfiePL 5 June, 2012 @ 1:56 pm   16

US got better games i would take Ratchet, Lara Croft over Chime Super Deluxe, Renegade Ops, Oddworld anyday :/

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:23 pm

    1. I disagree but you’re entitled to that opinion. ;)
    2. I wouldnt worry too much about what the US has and we don’t just yet.

InnerSenses 5 June, 2012 @ 1:56 pm   17

So excited about this! I must say, I am a little disappointed that PSOne Classics and PS2 games are being given a back door, but at the same time I just can’t say no to Infamous 2, Darksiders, Motorstorm, Oddworld… I don’t know where I’m gonna find the time to play these games!

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:29 pm

Like I said – it’s not NEVER but it’ll have to be a really special title to make it in.

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   18

So where before we kept every single game that you gave to us for as long as we remained subscribers, we will now lose three games each month that you gave to us previously? I understand they will be replaced by other games, but we are still losing games that we would otherwise have kept and perhaps enjoyed until our subscriptions expired. If this is the case, just how how much notice do you intend to give of the games before revoking games. I’d hate to be working towards game completion only to have Sony delete it from my machine.

I guess I’m disappointed really that PS Plus subscriptions would now being used as a marketing tool to entice users into buying games. It sounds to me like the free games would now be better described as “time limited demos”.

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:24 pm

    No, you’ve misunderstood.
You lose access to nothing. Keep your subscription active and you have access to EVERYTHING you ever download.

Yeroon 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   19

Great improvement of Plus!

Thanks guys.

InnerSenses 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   20

@16 Chime is a great game! I bought it when it was discounted for PS+, it’s addictive as hell!

ryokocsi 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   21

just to check, it seems to say we lose these games on a regular basis instead of keeping them throughout the ps+ reg period, can you clarify?

Helvedeshunden 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   22

As a long-time PS+ member I feel… absolutely ecstatic about this. I’m glad I recently upgraded my poor old 120GB drive.

BeanDK 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   23

Will these titles be playable on my PS3s as long as my PS+ subscription is active, or will the games expire after a while?

vicheous 5 June, 2012 @ 1:57 pm   24

“Avatars: Panther! Rhino! Tiger! Walrus… er… Giant Squid?!” Is that Tokyo Jungle avatars :D

manutreble 5 June, 2012 @ 1:58 pm   25

Ross is LBP2 for free And infamous 2 aswell ?

meh this instant collection is crud compared to SCEA.
Its because of stupid decisions like this that SCEE makes, I have started moving to PC games. It cant fathom why Sony is so stupid to insist it needs to have a different store team for the US and EU – not needed at all.

Vitkir 5 June, 2012 @ 1:58 pm   27

Cool, and thanks for still including PSN titles, when I heard about this I was afraid it would end up full retail titles only, and risk overlapping with a lot of stuff I already owned.

Oh, and thanks for Awesomenauts, it’s the best PvP game I’ve ever played. I’d never had tried it without PS+!

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:31 pm

You’re very welcome! Awesomenauts really lives up to its name in my opinion.

We’ll ensure you get a good mix of top line download only PSN titles and Digital Blu-Ray.

Skookie30 5 June, 2012 @ 1:58 pm   28

I don’t know if am smiling with joy or crying in grief it a tough 1 to call, yes there got 12 we get crappy of ten there get SR-2 we don’t

what they didn’t say is choose said numbers so we download all for free.

but what about cloud gaming i hope the more this month keep your eyes on store updates means great stuff & E3 is still on-going.

JonnyPauz 5 June, 2012 @ 1:58 pm   29

YES!!!! it’s good to see that you guys listened and have decided to give us “proper” games instead of minis and ps1 games since i basically never played the minis or ps1 games i have got on my ps+ sub which i have had since almost its launch date but i have played a few maybe 5-10% of them the others have just been downloaded and unused. I love ps+ and now I love it even more, yay more games and more fun.

Carnivius_Prime 5 June, 2012 @ 1:59 pm   30

Am a bit unclear. Is Infamous 2 free only to new subscribers? Cos I’ve been wanting that game price reduced for a year now. I rented it originally and have wanted the digital version to own but it’s always been £50 which is too much for any game. I’d rather have that than Darksiders of which I did own the disc version and didn’t enjoy at all.

Space Marine might be alright. Someone recommended it to me a while ago. I dunno. I’m not big on gaming at moment anyways. Too much crud going on occupying my mind so I tend to just stick with my faves such as Uncharted 3 and Shank 2 online.

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:32 pm

All the listed titles are available for anyone to download and play as part of the subscription, new subscribers and old.

Ania_Dawid 5 June, 2012 @ 1:59 pm   31

the only thing, and its a minor disadvantage is that the (correct me if Im wrong) us update is on 5th and european on 6th june.

dexmastah 5 June, 2012 @ 1:59 pm   32

I’ve got the same question as PSMako: will the games be playable through the entire Plus subscription or only until they are refreshed?

Why I ask is simple: my playtime is increasingly limited so I’ve been banking on Plus to stack up on games throughout the year to play during the summer and other small breaks I manage to get.

pn3b0y 5 June, 2012 @ 2:00 pm   33

will tomba be included for free ps+ content? some of us still love ps1 games

Carnivius_Prime 5 June, 2012 @ 2:01 pm   34

@16 please. Renegade Ops is a far, far better game than godawful Lara Croft.

@31

I believe games will stay as long you have PS+. With so much games and 12 weeks of rotation I am sure there isn’t such kind of limitation.

bravo9zero 5 June, 2012 @ 2:03 pm   36

I thought there was going to be different prices for PS+?

colmshan1990 5 June, 2012 @ 2:04 pm   37

Excellent stuff, although I have to admit I was hoping for Vita to be included in PS+.
Any plans for that?
Similar to those above me, I’ll echo the question- can we play the games after they’ve been refreshed? I suppose we can, similar to current PS+, but am I right?

Also, who among us has a HDD big enough?!! :P

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:34 pm

Yes, yes, yes – yours to keep as long as you remain a subscriber.

LSB123 5 June, 2012 @ 2:04 pm   38

If the games do indeed become unplayable once they’re removed from the rota, then it’s a pretty shoddy service. And it’s a shame that just as Vita is about to get PS1 support we no longer get PS1 games from Plus. But still, good idea.

Ti_dus 5 June, 2012 @ 2:05 pm   39

This is just UNBELIAVABLE!!!!! Are you sure you’re not loosing money on this? WOW!

Carnivius_Prime 5 June, 2012 @ 2:05 pm   40

Also I liked PS1/PS2 games being available on Plus. I was waiting in hope of the Maximo games and Godhand appearing on Plus cos at £7.99 each they’re too expensive for old PS2 games that have no HD, online or trophy support.

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:35 pm

I understand – I am a fan of the PSone and PS2 titles as well but we’ve made this decision based on feedback and also analysis of service uptake – they’re just not that popular and by dropping them we are able to offer you a wider selection of PSN and also the Plus Presents titles in future months.

Like I said, if an amazing PSone or PS2 game shows up I’ll be sure you guys get it in Plus.

RichieBoy 5 June, 2012 @ 2:05 pm   41

very happy with this, i knew there was to be some disparity from what US users were offered but as a relatively recent PS+ adopter the gap doesn’t at all seem bad.

Now we just need to hear what you’re doing for PS+ on Vita!

Graftonator 5 June, 2012 @ 2:06 pm   42

Seems to me that PS+ just got worse. Better games yes but no longer “forever”. What if I don’t want to play Space Marine this month? Or what if I get so into Infamous 2 that I don’t touch Motorstorm?

Glad I’ve got a few months left on my subscription before I have to make the decision to renew or not!

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:37 pm

Games you download you do not lose access to as long as you keep up your subscription.

Unicronic 5 June, 2012 @ 2:06 pm   43

AWESOME UPDATE. THANKS!

One question are LBP2, Infamous 2 and Motorstorm available to PS+ users who are subscribers right now or just those who renew/join?

Thanks!

Golwar 5 June, 2012 @ 2:06 pm   44

Amazing content, already got most of the games though (besides Warhammer and Apocalypse). I fully support the direction that PLUS is taking, must admit though that I’m puzzled how this works out on Sony’s side.

almighty-slayer 5 June, 2012 @ 2:06 pm   45

My only suggestion is to extend to Vita.

AllytheBruce 5 June, 2012 @ 2:06 pm   46

Presumably it’s still going to work the same, even once a title vanishes after its 12 weeks we can use it for the duration of our plus membership right?

supvic 5 June, 2012 @ 2:07 pm   47

Are these games free for LIFE, or are they only valid for the length of your subscription? I only got LBP1 and Stacking free with my 1 year membership, everything else expired. Please tell me SOME of these games will be ours to keep and not simply rented.

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm

Duration of subscription only I’m afraid. If you ideologically disagree with subscription services then Plus still won’t be for you.

Carnivius_Prime 5 June, 2012 @ 2:07 pm   48

@36 I have a 640GB drive and it’s plenty big enough for me. Well, since I started getting rid of stuff I don’t actually play like the tedious Resident Evil games and some other large ‘freebies’ (Tomb Raider Underworld is a joke right? Awful game).

Fruit_Loop_1969 5 June, 2012 @ 2:08 pm   49

Well done guys!!!! You have definitely pulled out ALL the stops this time!!!

VERY IMPRESSED!!!

Games for the future:-

Any Bioshock game
Any Dead Space game
Resident Evil 5
Or is that pushing the boat out to far :-O lol!!!

Well done though, pat on the back well deserved!!!

RemyX-1988 5 June, 2012 @ 2:08 pm   50

So Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, and all those other games listed there today, are free for Plus-members? Awesome!

One thing though… I DON’T HAVE MY PS3 BACK YET!!!

How long will those games be available for download until they are refreshed? I really don’t want to miss out on a free VF5: Final Showdown… I’ve been securing money to buy it!

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:41 pm

Virtua Fighter is in until July 4th – it’s the first game to change.

SirTodge 5 June, 2012 @ 2:08 pm   51

I’m glad I renewed my sub for another year :)

Will Vita more content ever get included in PS+ though?

omergdx 5 June, 2012 @ 2:08 pm   52

when are we getting playstation plus in israel?

UltimaDTG 5 June, 2012 @ 2:09 pm   53

I like these PS+ changes but I would like to see an emphasis on rewarding early adopters/people who have owned their PS3 for a long time. What I mean by this is perhaps a shift in emphasis away from giving older title away for free which most long time gamers will already own/have played previously and instead offer more new retail titles (at more competitive rates as standard) then giving discounts that actually beat the prices of physical copies. Offering a free back catalogue is good move for a console nearing the end of its life cycle but people will remember that by waiting they get significantly better value which could harm the ps4 launch/the eternally struggling vita (in a very very small way but still…)

    Ross McGrath 5 June, 2012 @ 2:42 pm

    Very considered feedback.
Don’t forget Plus is not just the games we give away as part of the subscription – keep an eye on discounts over the next month and decide for yourself.

ThePunkGypsy 5 June, 2012 @ 2:09 pm   54

How are people complaining about this? You get to play 45 games through out the year for the price of buying 1. Some people just love to whine.

I’m also curious to know if the games are time limited. And if any features will be coming to my shiny new Vita.

And LOVED the E3 conference.

Mith1970 5 June, 2012 @ 2:09 pm   55

Thanks, I like this new plan for Plus. I liked the minis, but hardly played them, and didn’t care for the PS One games at all.
I do have some questions though:
- If I don’t like these changes, can I cancel and keep the free games I already have gotten? If not, I’m pretty locked in and have to pay for a service that changed not to my liking… (not that I am going to cancel, it’s something I think some people will wonder about)
- Can I get the games now, delete them, and download them again at a later moment, even if they are removed from the Plus offering? My HDD just isn’t big enough to hold them all, and this will definitely grow worse soon.

Thanks for the update!

KorupTxx 5 June, 2012 @ 2:09 pm   56

Does this mean we “lose” the games after the 12 weeks? If so we should get an option to buy them at a discounted price, that would be awesome!

Kartana 5 June, 2012 @ 2:11 pm   57

Fantastic! Only one question though: when does the EU PSN store usually get updated?

This is ridiculously awesome!
I don’t have time to play all these great games unfortunately. I already have too many games.

For anyone who doesn’t have a ps3 yet, this is a great incentive to get one!

I haven’t even played the first Infamous yet we got from the psn outage and you’re offering infamous2 now. I hope it stays long.

This is great! I will continue to support PS+ for as long as it exists!

Suggestions:

I would like to see any prince of persia game in here. Those are too awesome, I think everyone should play them!
Don’t have The Forgotten Sands yet so a discount on that would be cool.

And maybe an Uncharted game. Everyone says they’re so good but don’t look interesting to me. Played for am minute and was boring. Haven’t given them a real chance to prove themselves to me though.

danielm1979 5 June, 2012 @ 2:11 pm   59

Nice that we’re getting those titles for free, but those disc based games are a no-no for me.
Costs too much space and when I get a game I don’t want too delete it and redownload it… such a hassle.
Physical Copies FTW! Too bad subscription was renewed by itself last month, forgot to turn it off. Last PS+ year for me.

Vistua Fighter is nice though.

Maxthebird 5 June, 2012 @ 2:11 pm   60

Any chance of further tweaking PlayStation Plus to include some PSP/PS Vita freebies?

D-Star_1 5 June, 2012 @ 2:11 pm   61

Glad I renewed my Pus sub back in April for the year back in April. I was putting off getting Odd World because I wasn’t sure I’d like it. But it free too Plus for a time on store and kept for the duration of the sub???

Let the good times roll! :D

Thanks Ross.

Izorpo 5 June, 2012 @ 2:12 pm   62

suggestions for the future:

Ratchet & Clank HD collection (as you did with Sly Trilogy)
Borderlands
Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
Skyrim dlc when it finally appears
Mafia II
Star Ocean The Last Hope
Red Dead Redemption
GTA IV

GrumpyMcGrump 5 June, 2012 @ 2:12 pm   63

thanks for your reply ross, that’s awesome then!!! :O

AntGreenfield 5 June, 2012 @ 2:12 pm   64

Jaw meet floor!! WOW! Count me as one happy Plus subscriber :D

Thats a sweet lineup of games to kick things off!! Soooo glad I resisted temptation to buy Strangers Wrath the other night now lol That really is the kind of service Plus should’ve been from the off, got bored of most minis very quickly bar the odd few, but to have access to so many bluray titles at a time…. whats not to like??!! (Apart from lack of Vita support! Any time soon???)

Great update to the service as a whole though so thanks Ross & everyone else involved :)

Skookie30 5 June, 2012 @ 2:13 pm   65

Nevermind i was too hasty to commet let me get this right 6 games off the bat to tie us over rotation like i said in another post just 3 titles next month.

so we end up with ten games in total over 1 year because september a long way off so there less refresh of content then old plus new content stay longer.

i say SCEA get a much better deal like alway full 12 game of the bat.
:(

CoolRichy008UK 5 June, 2012 @ 2:14 pm   66

YE WHERE RATCHET AND CLANK COLLECTION it better be out this week im not waiting till end of june for it IDOL MINDS HURRY UP you made the game so GOD DAM PUT IT ON THE PSN STORE OR I WILL!!!!

theshortbaker 5 June, 2012 @ 2:14 pm   67

Evening Ross (Aussie time of course)

Are you guys looking at reviewing the cloud data storage size?

I have a few titles that I place in the service but with titles like FIFA, NBA etc have a multiple MB (4-6 per save) and its chewing up the majority of that amazing service.

Just food for thought, I’m liking this game thing as well, just a shame I have all of them except for Virtua Fighter 5 :-)

CoolRichy008UK 5 June, 2012 @ 2:14 pm   68

WE WANT RATCHET AND CLANK COLLECTION THIS WEEK!!!!!

BryceS 5 June, 2012 @ 2:16 pm   69

I’m liking this idea. Especially with the confirmation that the games do not expire as long as we keep our account active. Even when we get low hard drive space we can delete and redownload from our history.

My only issue is that the update is going up tomorrow rather than today – would have been great to use the final day of our four day weekend here in the UK to play some games!

What time is the update tomorrow? I want to try and use remote access to start the downloads while I’m at work tomorrow.

johnnyquicknives 5 June, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   70

Thanks for clarifying that we keep the games as long as we subscribe Ross. A fantastic update to plus (which was already pretty great).

Mijati 5 June, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   71

Sounds great, looking forward to getting a bunch of full titles although there’s been a whole load of them recently anyway!

Bit disappointed with there being no (or very rarely) PSone games and Minis available but I understand that. My question regarding this though is are we going to see more offers for PSone games/minis etc. to make up for it a little as this was something we didn’t see a whole lot of before when we were getting them for free.

Cheers and keep up the great work guys! Can’t wait until tomorrow to download a whole lot of games!

KC-alpha-14 5 June, 2012 @ 2:18 pm   72

How do you figure out which games will be rotated first? Also DUST 514?

officer_cartman 5 June, 2012 @ 2:19 pm   73

id be interested to know if this is the only change to ps+ as i have a feeling there is more to come this week.

RustySanderke 5 June, 2012 @ 2:20 pm   74

Great!

Kartana 5 June, 2012 @ 2:21 pm   75

So we get 10 games by tomorrow ? Is that right? Insanity!

Vitkir 5 June, 2012 @ 2:21 pm   76

Oh, yeah, with all these games we *need* more cloud space. It’s pretty much unusable for me at this point unless I go back and disable auto-uploading savegames on everything I have, the moment I delete anything to free up space, the auto-update fills it back up again the next night.

Benjamin81 5 June, 2012 @ 2:21 pm   77

My suggestions:

Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
Limbo
Pixeljunk Shooter & 4AM
All of those PS2 classics HD collections

Very nice. Is it likely that the games on the US plus side (and that don’t appear in the EU collection right now) appear in the EU games cycle?

Golwar 5 June, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   79

Guys, stop asking if we lose those games aftet 12 weeks. Why should Sony suddenly change that you keep your games as long as you subscribe? Especially as that is part of the Plus contract.

It is so simple. 10 games (minimum) will be available online all the time for new members to download instantly. Each month there’ll be at least 3 new games, which remain online to download for 12 weeks. End of story.

JadoreSox 5 June, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   80

Not buying the spin.

We will end up getting less content from this due to the lack of updates. Taking away the mini’s and ps1 classics is a massive kick in the face to vita owners. Getting more content than SCEA? yeah seriously doubt that, SCEE always fail to deliver, Legend of Dragoon anyone?

Chocobo115 5 June, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   81

rock Of ages?

Simiad 5 June, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   82

Excellent improvements! My hard drive is quivering in anticipation.
I can’t believe some people are -still- finding cause to moan even after this!
Haters gonna hate, I guess :/

Roxas598 5 June, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   83

hey ross hope your having a good time

little request since the games are changing to bluray titles is it possible with to have the File sizes included in these posts? i understand you couldnt do that today but if possible next update :)

windsorblue01 5 June, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   84

do we still get the offers of free dlc every now and again i take it we still get free avatars and themes still running with the service

Ania_Dawid 5 June, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   85

oh, and what guarantee do we have, that after deleting, for exaple lbp2 we will be still able to download it after, like, 3 months? I believe, that some of the games are deleting from the ps store servers forever, so does that mean, that the only way is to buy another hdd?

hayzink 5 June, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   86

im well happy with this.

i only have darksiders
outland
oddworld and infamous 2 so works out well for me.

i have saints row 2
lara croft
hard corps
sideways and zombie appocalpse

so the usa update would have been way worse for me so thanks scee.

ill take just cause 2 next month along with ratchet and clank if its on the cards, how about me2 if ea is up for it ~:)

CoolRichy008UK 5 June, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   87

Ross McGrath ratchet and clank collection (kicks idol minds up the BUTT till they hear us)

WE WANT IT NOW not the 29th i bet they are playing it so we dont get it GRRRRR

windsorblue01 5 June, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   88

my god how long as plus been running and people still think they lose access to a game when it comes of the plus store after they downloaded it

hayzink 5 June, 2012 @ 2:29 pm   89

any more info regarding how discount will work is it on all store items like mentioned in one of the survey choices?

Fruit_Loop_1969 5 June, 2012 @ 2:29 pm   90

or mass effect ;-)

Andrefpvs 5 June, 2012 @ 2:29 pm   91

I guess I was looking for new exclusive features and an extension to Vita. These are still coming, right?

stvlite 5 June, 2012 @ 2:31 pm   92

Quick question:
Say you forget to subscribe again after a week or so, your PS Plus has expired and then resubscribe again the following day. Would that mean that the games downloaded from PS Plus during the course of the subscription would be deleted, or disabled on the HDD? Same question regards to the Download List.

On a tight bandwidth, but I have a 1TB of storage ;D

Andrefpvs 5 June, 2012 @ 2:31 pm   93

Oh, if you want a suggestion for kick-ass PS2 games, then I’d like the Digital Devil Saga games when they are published. That would be very nice :)

Alex-1124 5 June, 2012 @ 2:31 pm   94

Maybe you could make the 11th game BF3? Try pitching the idea to EA as it’d be a fantastic promotion for both BF3 Premium & PS+

wow, just wow! bracing my internet connection for some heavy duty downloading tomorrow. one request from someone who already has quite an extensive game collection, is there any way we could have some more space for our cloud saves?

sephiroth180 5 June, 2012 @ 2:32 pm   96

Sounds good! What about people who has been a PS+ subscriber for a long time. Do we still get inFamous 2 and Motorstorm: Apocalypse?

varsas 5 June, 2012 @ 2:33 pm   97

What happens when one does renew but signs up again later? Is the content from the previous subscription period available again?

Roxas598 5 June, 2012 @ 2:33 pm   98

uh andy i just noticed the avatars…..where is the giant enemy grab? totally killed any excitement this update gave *runs of crying*

varsas 5 June, 2012 @ 2:34 pm   99

Correction:

What happens when one does NOTrenew but signs up again later? Is the content from the previous subscription period available again?

MercBusta 5 June, 2012 @ 2:34 pm   100

At this rate, i don’t have to buy anymore games cause u guys keep me busy enough. :P Nice deal :)

almighty-slayer 5 June, 2012 @ 2:34 pm   101

Ross, i dislike Warhammer, and every gameplay i have seen looka incredibly dull to me. Might give it a try though

Roxas598 5 June, 2012 @ 2:36 pm   102

oh and may i request assassins creed Revelations as one of the games at somepoint :D be good to play again before 3

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 2:36 pm   103

Ross, thanks for the clarification above. I take back everything I said!

darrenj1 5 June, 2012 @ 2:37 pm   104

This is really ace improvement guys, some great games I never got round to trying and looking forwsrd to the indie games cos that’s what I like about PSN, for me the PSone and Mini’s are nothing special.

Roxas598 5 June, 2012 @ 2:38 pm   105

damnit said andy instead of ross lol totally my bad…….i’ll get my coat

WilledLexington 5 June, 2012 @ 2:39 pm   106

I don’t know how happy I am about this, sure PS3 games a great to get for free but its not a coincidence that the day we’re told the PS Vita will be getting PS One games soon that we’re also told we’re going to stop getting them on +

ThePunkGypsy 5 June, 2012 @ 2:39 pm   107

One the game suggestion front. I’d love to see Metal Gear Solid 4 get on there,

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm   108

I think quite a few of us have interpreted “these titles will be replaced” as “these games will be removed from your PS3 and replaced with others”. Ross just replied that I misunderstood, so I apologise. It means the titles will be replaced with others in the store, so you’ve just got to get them by the stated dates.

nikk900 5 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm   109

Will we still get the little things like themes and avatars?
Speaking of avatars, when will we get Marvel vs Capcom avatars? I really want a Deadpool avatar.

extermin8or_ 5 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm   110

Hmm I want to resubscribe to ps plus now (i let it slide a few months back) however at the same time I want new ps vita games :/ now which to choose :p

carlosdfn 5 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm   111

OK, this is definitely a very impressive offer. I’ve never been a plus member so I have 2 questions:

Will I have the option to buy VF5, for example, at a discount so I can keep it after my sub ends or is the free download the only option?

If I let my sub expire and then renew a few months from now will the games still be there?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

morpheus2n2 5 June, 2012 @ 2:41 pm   112

@Ross McGrath Ok with all these games now coming to PS+ I think we need a firmware update that supports external drives as my 750gb drive in my PS3 now only has about 40GB left :( and seen as 750GB is the largest 2.5 drive I can find I need more options for space as deleting games and re-downloading them at later date is not a option??

Quinlank 5 June, 2012 @ 2:41 pm   113

Good stuff. Shame I already have or have had most of the games in the line up and I’m not too keen on Virtua Fighter to be honest.

On the idea of some Vita related Plus incentives, I thought it might be an idea to put MGS Peace Walker on PSP (I assume it works on the Vita as well) up for Plus members when the Vita MGS collection comes out in a few weeks, seeing as the HD version of it has been omitted from the Vita version. I’m actually very surprised Konami didn;t go the route of including a voucher to download Peace Walker with it as part of the anti-pre-owned initiative.

Just a thought.

Omikaru 5 June, 2012 @ 2:41 pm   114

Ross, have the rates of subscription changed?

I understand that the US now has a monthly subscription. Is that the same as over here? Will the yearly subscription remain, will it be going up?

Osahi_be 5 June, 2012 @ 2:43 pm   115

I was never to fond of the PS Plus program. I understand the perks of it for some people, but as somebody who lacks the time to play a lot and carefully picks the games he wants to play a program like that doesn’t add much value.

This however could make me change my mind. I’ll see how it turns out in the future (as for now I’ve got the games on the list I want, and I’m not planning on playing the others)

kingcrowbaruk 5 June, 2012 @ 2:44 pm   116

Is there ever going to be the possibility to buy games outright while still subscribed to Plus?

At the moment if you have it downloaded from Plus then there is no way to buy until the end of the subscription.

I’d like the opportunity to buy even though I have the content for free just incase I choose not to or I am unable to re-subscribe.

I’m guessing the store has no way to differentiate between rented and bought content and it’s just stored in the DRM wrapping the downloads instead.

HazelAM 5 June, 2012 @ 2:44 pm   117

that is awesome, but my hard drive is giving me the evil eye.

mJ_mSv 5 June, 2012 @ 2:46 pm   118

Awesome, people who still complain not getting enough for theire money is plain stupid, and yes, for my part I have most of the games already, but just some games makes this worth it!. Just hope as many else that Vita vill also get included someday in ps+ or even get it’s own ps+ program! :)

STORMxPYTHON 5 June, 2012 @ 2:47 pm   119

Ross can you if possible post the file sizes on these please as i’ve just tried working off a rough estimate and got about 70 GIG.
Also quite pleasantly surprised by infamous 2 although i’ve downloaded but not played the first one since it got offered during the psn ”outage” last year.

LIKE-NO-ONE 5 June, 2012 @ 2:47 pm   120

OMG This is the best update EVER. I’m really happy that I subscribed for PS Plus when it first launched. Thank you guys.

-I think we need more space for the online storage because the current one isn’t enough if you got so many games and more to come.

-Some people are complaining that they already own some of these games. So how about making us choose between a couple this way will satisfy more members.

vonhammer 5 June, 2012 @ 2:48 pm   121

Sweet, lot of those i’ve been close to buying, but never pulled the trigger on.Also VF5 :)

Dad0xen 5 June, 2012 @ 2:49 pm   122

I really do believe that you(Sony/Playstation) should have more confidence in the Vita. I’m saying this because after the E3 show I’ve got a bad feeling about it. There was more emphasis on PS move than on the VIta; or it is just me that I was expecting more… So I really hope that Plus will come to VIta as well…Either as discounts or as freebies, this way will entice people to buy a vita especially if they already have a PS+ subscription.

dillusion 5 June, 2012 @ 2:50 pm   123

Oh my God, good job guys! Also, I know it’s been said before in the comments, but please expand the service to PS Vita as well, and maybe even to PSP games that I can play on my Vita :D!

Phoenixfire90 5 June, 2012 @ 2:53 pm   124

Well, I’ve got a few requests for you Ross, since Sony’s in a generous mood today:
Ratchet & Clank All4One (like the US)
Metal Gear Solid 4
Borderlands
Journey
Modnation Racers
Bioshock (since Big Daddy’s in All Stars Battle now)
Uncharted 1 & 2
Batman Arkham Asylum
Heavy Rain
PS1 Spyro games (when released)
And last but not least, Portal 2.
…. Not that I’m asking for much.
Before anyone says I know pigs might fly first but what was that flying past my window just now. :)

memoxu 5 June, 2012 @ 2:54 pm   125

where is Spyros? Still yet no any of them….

Rainy163 5 June, 2012 @ 2:55 pm   126

Great news but I was dissapointed by the lack of Playstation Plus support for the Vita. There is really is not much reason to buy PSS if you dont own a PS3 :-(

jimmybignuts 5 June, 2012 @ 2:55 pm   127

This is a fantastic addition to ps+ well done sony, great line up for the first batch of games too!!

pillaysteven 5 June, 2012 @ 2:55 pm   128

Saints Row 2 and Just Cause 2 would be nice, like the US PS+ got.

Not complaining though, fantastic update and service, just a pity I have a lot of the games already.

Still nice to have a digital copy of LBP2, and I’ve wanted to try Motorstorm for a while.

This type of service is kind of unprecedented isn’t it… it’s almost hard to believe. Well done Sony :).

XisTG 5 June, 2012 @ 2:56 pm   129

Hi there Ross!

First of all, you MUST update the post with a caps lock bold sentence stating that although the free games rotate, once you download them they’re yours to keep and play an re-download if need, as long as you keep being a PS+ subscriber. That seems to be confusing a lot of people :)

Second, well done! I already have some of those games, but that’s just because of how awesome they were. It’s a pretty cool list to start off any PS3 player, and I for one am glad!

As for future games, have you considered pushing more games that are about to have a sequel, like Darksiders? I would like to see games such as Borderlands and GTA4 and AC: Revelations (not the Ottoman Edition, of course).

LIKE-NO-ONE 5 June, 2012 @ 2:57 pm   130

Please give us Rachet & Clank All for One. US Store is getting it.

r00usku 5 June, 2012 @ 2:58 pm   131

Great!!! Only question is, how will I find the time to play all these games!?!

xXCandyMan342Xx 5 June, 2012 @ 3:05 pm   132

This is great news, amazing value, many thanks Sony, the competition has nothing on you, Xbox Live Golold xD

commando-robbo 5 June, 2012 @ 3:05 pm   133

amazing!! I hope there is a 1 terabyte PS3 model in the works for this game wave!! :-)

izekial27 5 June, 2012 @ 3:06 pm   134

Can you please list alongside the games the storage space that they require. That would help me manage my hdd.

dillusion 5 June, 2012 @ 3:07 pm   135

@carlosdfn (109)
The answers to your questions:
1.No
2.Yes but I heard people complaining in the past about issues with the license expired (that hopefully are fixed now)

Huono_peleis 5 June, 2012 @ 3:08 pm   136

I tried, but couldn’t come up with anything to moan about. :(

strangeplaice 5 June, 2012 @ 3:09 pm   137

Kingdom Hearts 2 for PS2 please! :P

Not a clue why I suggested it but it’d be great. I want more PS2 games on my 40GB D: Please just enable the BluRay drive :’(

sam_w 5 June, 2012 @ 3:09 pm   138

This really is brilliant news!!
I can see the PS Plus subscriber base increasing by a rather large amount ;)

OttoT 5 June, 2012 @ 3:10 pm   139

I wish we had the conformation that scee was closed and scea where running the same excelent service here as they do in the US.
I’m glad the mini’s are gone but again I rather had the US plus then this crap.

Catkiller1 5 June, 2012 @ 3:11 pm   140

PLUS was already a great deal but this is the icing on the cake!

Well done on the new PLUS entitlements. I only have 12gb left but I can activate all the downloads & download them fully, when I have space left ;)

Very happy indeed!

zdravkelja 5 June, 2012 @ 3:14 pm   141

Great job, really. I subscribed to Plus since day 1 and I’ve never regreted it. And I think we got better games than NA.
Keep up the good work :)

Graftonator 5 June, 2012 @ 3:14 pm   142

Thanks for the reply Ross, I stand corrected, it is improving on what I think was already an excellent service! Better games and “forever”. Well played, I’ll be renewing and bullying my friends until they become members too!

JammieDodgerz 5 June, 2012 @ 3:17 pm   143

Amazing update, can’t wait til tomorrow!

I agree with the rest, All4One in the next update pwease!! ;)

stvlite 5 June, 2012 @ 3:20 pm   144

@133 Its just a matter of replacing your HDD. :D

kinglambert 5 June, 2012 @ 3:22 pm   145

I’ve never paid a second thought to subscribing to Playstation Plus…Until now.
The only thing that worries me is the chances of me owning future PS+ content due to the amount of games I already own. From the current PS+ update I own Infamous 2, Outland and LBP2

I think I may give the 90 day subscription a spin

Can I also make a recommendation for a future PS+ update? I’d like to see Vandal Hearts. It’s a game I’ve wanted to play but I’ve never been able to justify the price. PS+ would be great chance to try it out

mike20036 5 June, 2012 @ 3:23 pm   146

What a fantastic update this Is :) Looking forward to these games.

mob_uk 5 June, 2012 @ 3:24 pm   147

Hello

Can you please resolve this issue one my favorite game is not working it wont let me download full game unlock on for Critter Crunch from the store. I recently renewed by PS+ subscription, it was offered with PS+ awhile back now its say I gotta buy.

Its no longer on my download list either, Thankz

MK24ever 5 June, 2012 @ 3:26 pm   148

I just want to say that I’m happy, really happy, inFamous2, Motostorm: Apocalipse and LBP2 ate the 3 games I didn’t bought because I just couldn’t, and now I get them all on PSN+.

Thank you playstation!!!

Chr1zzly 5 June, 2012 @ 3:27 pm   149

Great update!

Last week I wanted to subscribe to PS Plus to buy the Ultimate Editions of LA Noire and Mafia II. After reading about them on the US blog I was waiting all day for the store to update, but discovered later we didn’t get those.
Will we be seeing the Ultimate Editions in our store in the near future?

cool, i am not worried about the 2 other free games we missed as i don’t have time to play them all anyway with retail games being so frequent, i just hope that sony have sorted out the problem of games expiring when you renew your subscription prior to the expiry date of your PS+, they just disappear which is a shame, i have been reluctant to renew because of this although PS+ is still good value for money though, i wouldn’t get to play any of these games if i brought them separate.

@ mob_uk this is what i am talking about, this problem has to be resolved before i renew again.

PsychoDantis 5 June, 2012 @ 3:31 pm   152

Hurm. This is unfortunate for me. I signed up for PS Plus last month, specifically for the PS1 and PS2 titles. Seems that Silent Hill and Max Payne are the only ones I’ll get to play.

There’s a lesson to be learned from this, but I’m not sure what it is.

Skookie30 5 June, 2012 @ 3:31 pm   153

Im so sorry, so sorry I’m tired i only had 3 hour sleep after E3 had end :(

i did more number maths you are spot on ross we rato faster so we get more content then scea gets plus 1 extra that don’t count dont think SCEA got that.

anyway here my maths:

you set off 10 games 3 of them are there for a full year that makes the other 6 changeable but 1st change is the game of the month.

then 3 of the 6 get change the other 3 have to wait a other time to get change.

so 3x new games x12 month = over 45 games.

that right ross.

RichieBoy 5 June, 2012 @ 3:35 pm   154

Actually I must admit I’m a little disappointed that we don’t get Saints Row 2 on this side of the pond, can you tells us Ross if this is likely to be addressed at any point or is it a publisher issue between US/EU?

Nightmare966 5 June, 2012 @ 3:36 pm   155

OK Ross, you guys at SCEE gained one more suscriber with this ;)

Question I have: I know free Plus games are useable only while on suscription. What happens if I couldn’t renew for 6 months and re-joined, would I still have access to previous content?

Uar2bePWNDagain 5 June, 2012 @ 3:38 pm   156

Wow thanks so much Ross and the PSN plus team! This is amazing ;) I can’t wait to play Infamous 2 :D

KillerXp82 5 June, 2012 @ 3:40 pm   157

Well this update to the service sounds good to me & I’m happy to hear you won’t be focusing on giving us Minis anymore, with ps1&2 games I’d rather be given discount on as there isn’t that many of them I would want.

What I would like to see next is Vita being apart of Psn+ to.

dividsmythe 5 June, 2012 @ 3:40 pm   158

Gosh I’m going to need a 10 terabyte hdd lol.So glad that I never bought Chime. I loved the demo but had too little cash at the time. Shame I just dont time to play as much as when I was skint.

Uar2bePWNDagain 5 June, 2012 @ 3:40 pm   159

How are people still complaining about this :p

Btw, does anyone/does Ross know how to see when your subscription is over? I’d like to know when I need to renew ;)

Freddyboy45 5 June, 2012 @ 3:43 pm   160

I would really like to get Just Cause 2. When I saw it on the big screen as one of the US games at the press conference, I was hoping that we would get it, too. Is there any possibility of getting it next month, or…?

RichieBoy 5 June, 2012 @ 3:49 pm   161

@154 I recently re-subscribed to + and was able to re-download Burnout Paradise which I got for Free when we all had our free PS+ after the PSN outage, so you should be good.

Skookie30 5 June, 2012 @ 3:49 pm   162

@ Nightmare966 if you don’t renew within 6 months you will lose your cloudsaves in cloud storage & that be sad it save me from grief my saves are safe.

like catkiller said this is iceing of the cake great AAA titles FREE at the expense off cutting back on minis & Ps1 classics & 2 PSN titles.

if they still do the old plus & if do vita plus i can see a price hike in plus services.

wee_urey 5 June, 2012 @ 3:51 pm   163

Hey, Ross any chance on getting the Metal Gear Solid HD collection in there? or even the Fallout games. Now im gonna get my Plus subscription
on Friday xD

funkpower 5 June, 2012 @ 3:52 pm   164

Nothing for me. Another £40 saved along with the pathetic attempt at money laundering through Battlefield 3 DLC, a complete ripp off!!

bigdaveg 5 June, 2012 @ 3:52 pm   165

So glad i just upgraded my hdd to 1tb, sounds like i’m gonna need it!
Also think it might be time to switch autodownloads back on!
Only concern with this is now we are not getting free minis and psone titles i’ll be getting no more free stuff for my ps vita!
Free Music unlimited service for plus members would be suitable compensation (or a discount)

CoolRichy008UK 5 June, 2012 @ 3:54 pm   166

@62 Ratchet & Clank HD collection IS OUT THIS MONTH and it better be out before end of june

HURRY UP SONY

mattsimmo 5 June, 2012 @ 3:55 pm   167

Hey Ross,

Any chance of popping the file sizes onto the main thread next to each one? Just so I know how much room to clear on my HDD in preparation for tomorrow :)

Cheers.

CoolRichy008UK 5 June, 2012 @ 3:56 pm   168

RemyX-1988 awwww LOL

mullet-mania 5 June, 2012 @ 3:56 pm   169

X Men Arcade

It would be great to get a discount or as a freebie sometime, ive been waiting to pick this up for ages. :D. Thanks

Nightmare966 5 June, 2012 @ 4:00 pm   170

@160: Thanks a lot for answering, now it’s even better! :D

seanoc1 5 June, 2012 @ 4:00 pm   171

So instead of expanding onto the Vita you pull back from it altogether? Disappointing.

dgnfly 5 June, 2012 @ 4:02 pm   172

instead off this how about improving the godamn store for once we have the most lackluster contnt on any regions store. we still missing army off content and before we know it well be getting the same games again like so many times.
this isen’t even a improvement start with actually getting more ps1 classics and other gamesfor psn. SCEE is nothing but a laughing stock which hasen’t improved in 5 years. atleast SCEA has something 2 show with psplus they got content 2 show how great PSplus is you guys got old content that the plus users keep getting offered over and over again.

AkodoRyu 5 June, 2012 @ 4:03 pm   173

No Ratchet and Clank baffles me – it’s Sony’s game, so licence is non-issue. Loves Chime and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath.

Also yet again, customers paying way more get 10 games instead of 12 – not that I care any more, don’t have time to play through my backlog and will probably have even less.

I suppose going to unified PS+ experience is not something Sony cares about – strange and confusing decision IMO, but what do I know.

Mainiacs 5 June, 2012 @ 4:04 pm   174

A stroke of pure genius! Wish we had this earlier on PS+ but better late than never.

Well looking forward to playing them.

The boys done good!

Alandrin 5 June, 2012 @ 4:10 pm   175

Man bugar och tackar.

Allways thought ps+ was the best deal i’ve bought on psn
and you just made it a whole lot sweter.

Ben_Toon 5 June, 2012 @ 4:13 pm   176

This is brilliant. Some may say the US gets better games but that can be argued.

Having less games at the start but rotating more is better.

Pana-Wan_Kenobi 5 June, 2012 @ 4:13 pm   177

a few questions:

1. These free games, are they available to 3-month subscribers?
2. If a game is removed from the games library, will it be still available to subscribers who have already downloaded it?
3. If my subsription expires and i renew it after a few months, will i still have the content i had before?
4. I am browsing the PS Store on my PS3 but i cannot see these games to be free

Thank you

vincio09 5 June, 2012 @ 4:15 pm   178

Will we get the PSVita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD when it’s released?

Willelmus 5 June, 2012 @ 4:17 pm   179

A great revamp. Never really got into minis and well, i already played and finished most ps1 titles when I was a kid. I was already glad I purchase plus a few months ago (I mean recieving Trine2, Shanks2, far cry 2 and shift2 for free was balls) now I feel I’ve just died and gone to heaven.

FBZ1501 5 June, 2012 @ 4:17 pm   180

Sounds great to me…. very happy with the new system and games.
Prefer these games to the US ones and like the fact that EU games will get swapped more frequently than US ones!

Will need a bigger HDD at this rate….

Speaking of which you need to increase the Cloud storage and make copying ‘all’ an option on the XMB for game saves.

Been a Plus member for a year or so and will defo keep it running and it’s good to see the service evolve.
Can live without minis and PSone on the Plus… but you really need to support the Vita with some Plus Love and Cloud storage for game saves etc.

Also what is the score with PSone games on the Vita… is it just a select few that will be available in ‘summer’ or will all my PSN PSone games be playable??

Any news on Remote Play?????
I’ve read GOW 1,2 and ICO and Shadow of Colossus ‘should be’ playable??

Again any Vita news would be good and needed news!!!

don_vennuchi 5 June, 2012 @ 4:19 pm   181

nice one Sony. Was not expecting that!

muzzar69 5 June, 2012 @ 4:20 pm   182

Hi Ross,
Just curious what happens if you add a game to your download list but don’t download it, will it expire or will you still be able to download it?
I do that all the time because I like to save downloading till the last day in the month that way I don’t have to worry about going over my quota.
So if I add Darksiders for instance 15th/8 to my download list but don’t actually download it so it’s not activated, and it’s not sitting in my download under the XMB, will I be able to go into the download section on the PSN store and start downloading on say the 29th?

Thanks!

pb-live 5 June, 2012 @ 4:24 pm   183

Great work. Wanted to play Darksiders again as I didn’t complete it before giving it back.

I too want to see Vita PS+ and Ratchet and Clank.

My one concern is that when the PS4 comes out eventually, all the PS+ stuff we’ve accumulated will be lost unless its backward compatible.

pb-live 5 June, 2012 @ 4:26 pm   184

@181 – if you go through the usual steps and put it in your download queue then you’ve effectively ‘bought’ it as far as PS+ is concerned, so, yes you can download another time even after it goes out of PS+

Rhys001 5 June, 2012 @ 4:30 pm   185

This is all great, and will probably convince me to stick with PS+ for at least a while, but can we PLEASE get some Vita perks with PS+. Sony showed almost no love for the Vita during the E3 conference, it’d be nice to get some kind of appreciation for being an early adopter for a (handheld) console that already seems to be forgotten.
P.S, I realise you already addressed the PS+ for Vita issue; this is just me adding my voice to the others in the hopes it convinces Sony that there is demand for this.

ShadowDoGGG 5 June, 2012 @ 4:46 pm   186

A pat on the back Ross, brilliant job by you and SCEE. I liked PS+ as it was but now it is even better.

SylarTheNinja 5 June, 2012 @ 4:49 pm   187

Looks like I’ll be re-signing up tomorrow then!

C98976 5 June, 2012 @ 4:51 pm   188

Verrryyy impressed with the PS+ games so far
i just hope we get ratchet and clank soon.

sazzrah 5 June, 2012 @ 4:51 pm   189

If you’re taking suggestions for games to add to the list then I’d request Siren Blood Curse. I always wanted to give that a try but the price tag was a bit much for me.

yume_2501 5 June, 2012 @ 4:53 pm   190

That’s A W E S O M E !! Great upgrade, i’m glad i am a plus member and great E3 by Sony. I already own some of the games up there, but it’s inevitable i suppose. As suggestion, Could you add Mass Effect 2 in the coming months :)? Thanks!

Ross, it’s true that you guys get a lot of flak about Plus updates, but this is a superb initiative. Congrats, and here’s hoping it’s successful.

I’d like to request Rayman Origins as one of the upcoming highlights. Seeing how many people originally thought it was going to be a download only game, it seems fitting that it would become a Plus feature.

Cheers.

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 4:54 pm   192

So we can download all the games listed above? Just when I thought I got my head around this, somebody popped up in another blog entry to say we can only choose three of the free titles. That’s not true, is it?

We can grab all the free titles just as long as we get them by their respective expiry dates? Right?

S-o-h-a-i-l 5 June, 2012 @ 5:00 pm   193

If you have a little wiggle room Ross, could you please add Ratchet and Clank to the list as well ?

CMP-X- 5 June, 2012 @ 5:04 pm   194

Great Update! The EU Collection is better than the one in the US Store. Finally getting to play Darksiders!

And thanks for your tweet to get PS Plus, Ross. Followed your advice, bought it a few days ago and now im really glad I got it! Some great games coming up + Awesomenauts and Max Payne. Guess I don’t need any new games in the coming months :D

Just a Question: I downloaded the Darksiders 1 hour Trial. Do I have to download it again tomorrow or can i use the Full-Game unlock?

Bjarno86 5 June, 2012 @ 5:05 pm   195

@fauxtronic

We get all the games for free, we don’t have to choose :)

good_ol_j 5 June, 2012 @ 5:14 pm   196

Perhaps add Just Cause 2 in the near future, also Uncharted is coming to the PS Store at the end of June so just maybe…!

I3loodthirsty 5 June, 2012 @ 5:19 pm   197

so out of them 10 game can we dl all 10 or are will limited to 2 of them as it says the come in pairs thats whats making me unsure as to whats what

carlosdfn 5 June, 2012 @ 5:20 pm   198

@dillusion

Thanks man. Didn’t know about those complaints, that’s worrying.

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 5:23 pm   199

That’s what I thought @Bjarno86. Thanks for confirming!

fauxtronic 5 June, 2012 @ 5:26 pm   200

By the way: Those of you upset about not getting Saints Row 2 like the Americans, I’m not sure I’d lose too much sleep over it. While I enjoyed the game, I think it’s an awful port. The graphics are awful ( very pixelated with lots of vertical tearing) and the physics are atrocious. Driving cars feels more like driving cardboard boxes. It comes nowhere near Saints Row: The Third in terms of quality.

Easy for me to say “don’t be upset about that!” though I suppose because I already own it.

Private-Lu 5 June, 2012 @ 5:32 pm   201

Now that Ratchet and Clank is finally being released as a collection.

Will it be possible to see something just as unique like perhaps Black. I used to love that game.

I never enjoyed the PS One Titles released on Plus, I’ll never play them nor have I ever heard of most of them. Got that Max Payne on PS2, still haven’t played it, don’t know what to expect.

Bjarno86 5 June, 2012 @ 5:33 pm   202

@carlosdfn

The issue about losing your content when you let your supscription lapse has been solved. When you re-subscribe now all your previous downloaded free Plus will be bumped to the top of your download list :) There is a thread about on the forums and I was one of the people in that thread with this problem :)

DaGHosT215 5 June, 2012 @ 5:37 pm   203

why havent my store updated yet still has the may selection…

chrisandsheva 5 June, 2012 @ 5:37 pm   204

@Ross,
Am very pleased with the choices now available, like some said i was also about to buy one or two from the list just days ago, so another ‘plus’ for me. In my case it was infamous2 and motortorm apocoylpse, though from a retail (disc) store.. so am pleased i never, still trying to finish some others off first etc.

I have to wonder about the ‘probable’ loss that sony will take by bringing us this newer plus, and tbh i can only imagine that the think tank boys have decided it is a good way to get us to begin veiwing digital downloads as the norm, rather than exception, as most see it presently, i wouldn’t be surprised if this is a joint venture (experiment,?) including most devs, as we all know thats how they want to sell future games, so perhaps it’s not costing sce ‘that’ much, anyway i can see the day (fast) arriving where someone buying disc games will be ‘thought’ of as the ppl who, say kept buying vinyl records after cd and other stuff come out.. now i’m startin to feel old, ..lol.

devangx5 5 June, 2012 @ 5:38 pm   205

This is a Super-Awesome PLUS! Glad I am a member…I love Chime and it’s addictive! I think this is a better version of the release on Steam(PC)!

P3hmo6 5 June, 2012 @ 5:40 pm   206

do we get 1 game per month or 1 game per 3 months bit hard to understand (those instant collection games)

Bjarno86 5 June, 2012 @ 5:45 pm   207

@P3hmo6

You actually get 3 games per month, which will replace 3 of the current games meaning there will always be at least 10 free games.

P3hmo6 5 June, 2012 @ 5:47 pm   208

info: WHEN ur ps+ ends u’ll ”lose” all games but when u buy ps+ again u can download those again ALL NEW & what u had for free

DaGHosT215 5 June, 2012 @ 5:47 pm   209

did everybody store update but mine whats going on…help someone

P3hmo6 5 June, 2012 @ 5:48 pm   210

Omg thanks Bjarno So 3 instant collection games per month yea?

Ryusennin 5 June, 2012 @ 5:49 pm   211

The rumours were true after all. You can bet your shirt the PS1/PS2 games will come back through a crappy cloud gaming service.

dsl278 5 June, 2012 @ 5:50 pm   212

Even though I already own most of these “launch” games (on one platform or another), I’ll still gladly trade all the psone / ps2 / mini’s for this new format. Plus just got a lot better, in my opinion. Now if only the PS3 would allow to save and run actual game content from an external drive (firmware update!?), cause 320GB is definitely not enough if this is the way forward for Sony…

STORMxPYTHON 5 June, 2012 @ 5:53 pm   213

@DaGHosT215 the US store should update today the EU store isn’t until tomorrow

chrisandsheva 5 June, 2012 @ 5:54 pm   214

Also, just want to add that anyone who hasn’t allready played Darksiders, but will be getting/playing it from the offers,.. i totally hate you, lol…
Just that it is one of my fav games, and i sometimes wish, like with other games i guess, that i hadn’t played it yet… everyone has games like that i suppose, so good (to them) that they wish they could maybe be hypnotised into forgetting the thing. Just to experience it all again, Still not long (3weeks) now till the ‘prequel’ is released… can’t wait.

DaGHosT215 5 June, 2012 @ 5:58 pm   215

@stormxpython does it update thru the day cuz its 12:57 pm where i am and usually it does it when i wake up in the morning this sucks….

dotKay 5 June, 2012 @ 6:12 pm   216

Ross, I’m a US Plus subscriber. Is the game rotation the same for us? (New game of the month and 2 new games from the catalogue each month)

reffan16 5 June, 2012 @ 6:12 pm   217

Wow! This is awesome. :) But I have a question – will you be able to provide a brand new games such as for Max Payne 3 in for example July? Or a bit older but still new like Battlefield 3 or Skyrim?

Chr15toff3e 5 June, 2012 @ 6:33 pm   218

I think this is a whole lot better than the minis and psone games we’ve been getting recently, even though a lot of people enjoyed those games, I was never interested in playing them. Although I hope the games are decent, and they’re not the likes of the Crash Commando and Critter Crunch games that have been on offer in the past. If they keep releasing new games similar to the quality of Infamous 2 and LBP2, then Plus will definitely be worth the money.

STORMxPYTHON 5 June, 2012 @ 6:39 pm   219

DaGHosT215 would have thought the US store would have updated already guess it’s a little slow to roll out due to E3.
Our EU store doesn’t update till late in the afternoon on a wednesday.

@chrisandsheva guess its a good game then. lol
Thats why i love plus so much EVERY game they have given so far are games id have never ever bought yet iv’e played and loved nearly all of them. With the exception to the ps1 games which look shocking on my projector screen. I over looked darksiders on release but will definitely be the first one on my download list tomorrow.

Grothraw 5 June, 2012 @ 6:51 pm   220

Great selection of games and good new game rotation system but was a little disappointed there was no cloud save storage increase as part of the revamp, mines getting quite full now and will be 10x worse after getting these freebies ;)

Piggins 5 June, 2012 @ 6:52 pm   221

Is there a way to sort download list I have about 700 hunderd items . To make it faster to find things like full games dlc or demos etc

BloodWolf481 5 June, 2012 @ 7:08 pm   222

Nice update would be better if
Warhammer 40,000 and InFamous 2 wasn’t there nothing wrong with them i already have them.
Also any chance “The Hunter” ps1 classic will ever be added to the store?

hayzink 5 June, 2012 @ 7:19 pm   223

with regards to ps1/2 games how about plus discounts on all as there not free anymore.

also for more full bluray ideas how about.

street fighter 4
red dead redemption/undead nightmares
deus ex

FBZ1501 5 June, 2012 @ 7:20 pm   224

Yep some way to sort the Download list is badly needed.
Can’t be that hard?

young_hastings 5 June, 2012 @ 7:34 pm   225

my ps+ subscription has been money well spent since the day i got it! glad to hear ye dropped the ps1 and minis ive yet to download 1 of them after being a subscriber for over a year more ps3 stuff is great news.
seriously looking forward to tomorrow its like christmas for gamers. thanks guys!! :D

UIUoOoUIU 5 June, 2012 @ 7:41 pm   226

Hi Ross nice Update ^ ^

i heve a Q. why wii don’t heve MK VS DC UNIVERSE ON PSN & MK 9 wii will heve a special offers for it like US ??

Hun_Tanor 5 June, 2012 @ 7:42 pm   227

Yes, ps plus the best, VF5 FS yes ! finaly worth it to pay another month to ps+ :)

DruGs111 5 June, 2012 @ 7:51 pm   228

Hey, what news on the playstation, plus an annual subscription in Russia?

bob_the_squirle 5 June, 2012 @ 7:52 pm   229

I would really like to see Saints Row 2 in the near future. I’ve always wanted to play that game!:) Also Bioshock or Just Cause 2 wouldn’t be wrong.

VirusPT 5 June, 2012 @ 8:07 pm   230

If I could for a some games on the rotation of Plus:
Socom: Special Forces
Modnation Racers
Kane and Lynch 2
Rayman Origins
GOW Origins
Twisted Metal (Please?!?)
Dragon Age 2
Dirt 3

It’s never been a more exciting time to a be a Plus member!

PhoenixEffect 5 June, 2012 @ 8:15 pm   231

I think this makes me get a subscription again on PS+ along with buying a Vita.

Emperor_Mordred 5 June, 2012 @ 8:28 pm   232

I was already impressed by the amount of smaller PSN games i got last month (Mushroom Wars is great fun!)

For me variation is important for the PS+ games and the list already looks excellent.

But i’d also like to see some unique indie/art games once in a while like The Unfinished Swan.
It’s nice to see a game that don’t involve guns;-)

I just hope i can find the time to play all those games, i still have to check out some of the ps+ games from April!

abysan 5 June, 2012 @ 8:35 pm   233

Good news! I hope we are not forgotten in Hungary

Helvedeshunden 5 June, 2012 @ 8:40 pm   234

+1 for sorting on type and other criteria.

It’s especially maddening on PS3 when you have a Vita, because you often can’t tell the difference in the name, so you end up downloading the Vita content instead of the PS3 content. A little [Vita], [PS3] and [PSP] would be helpful.

But especially sorting by kind and purchased. That would be useful. It would, in fact, make the download list – which in my case is close to 1000 – usable. On Vita where it doesn’t remember how far you’d scrolled down, when you click something to install it, it would be even more useful.

chriseggy 5 June, 2012 @ 8:43 pm   235

Great additions to an already great service, gonna miss those classic PS1 and PS2 games, and the minis too :/
But a great choice of both retail and PSN titles (Infamous 2 and Outland anyone?)
Really like the Playstaion Plus Presents idea too, indie games are really inspiring and unique :)
Just two questions, if you could please answer them:
1.) Will we be seeing ‘Sideways: New York’ as a free game like the US is?
2.) Please please PLEASE show ‘Braid’ some attention. It would make a fantastic indie title for the Playstation Plus Presents section, or at least a nice discount? Thank you :P

sephiroth399 5 June, 2012 @ 8:45 pm   236

amazing update!, thank you very much xD, if this doesnt get people buying a ps3 and playstation plus nothing will.

could you please tell me what time the store updates in the uk? thank you.

Vorlon 5 June, 2012 @ 9:15 pm   237

You need to ask more money for this service! I”ll hardly have time to play or buy new games.

x-360Cookie-x 5 June, 2012 @ 9:18 pm   238

Will Playstation 1 games still appear in Plus as discounts? The Final Fantasy sale that was on a few months ago is a great example. I can also finally play Final Fantasy IX on my Vita now :D

Is there any chance that we may see Playstation 1 games given away in a Vita centric Plus subscription? I for one much prefer to play Playstation 1 games on a handheld and I think they would suit the Vita perfectly.

How about PSP games for Vita plus?

I understand that these questions/suggestions probably can’t be answered but hopefully some interest is registered ;)

phantom2k88 5 June, 2012 @ 9:22 pm   239

WOW THIS IS WHAT SONY HAVE TO OFFER LOL
A LOT OF THESE GAMES MOST PEOPLE ALREADY HAVE SMH.SONY WHY CAN’T YOU JUST WORK ON THE TOP REQUESTED FEATURES ON THE BLOG.SHARE.WHAT IN THE HELL IS THE POINT OF THAT SITE IF YOU CONSTANTLY IGNORE THE TOP REQUESTED FEATURES.I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING TAKES TIME,MONEY AND RESOURCES,BUT AT LEAST ADDRESS THEM FOR GOD SAKE.IF THE TOP TEN REQUESTED IDEAS WERE IMPLEMENTED THEN WHY NOT PUT THEM ON PLAYSTATION PLUS? WITHOUT A DOUBT PEOPLE WOULD SIGN UP FOR PLAYSTATION PLUS AND THAT EQUALS MORE MONEY FOR YOU PEOPLE.E3 WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AND SO WERE THE ANNOUNCEMENTS.WITHOUT THE EXCLUSIVE GAMES AND PSN TITLES SONY WOULD HAVE PROBABLY GOT OUT OF BUSINESS A LONG TIME AGO.WHAT’S FUNNY AS WELL IS YOU PEOPLE ONLY RESPOND TO THE POSITIVE COMMENTS MOST OF THE TIME SMH,THEN YOU HAVE THE CHEEK TO SAY WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR FEEDBACK LOL.BUNCH OF MONEY HUNGRY LIARS THAT ONLY CARE ABOUT REVENUE.

This is why I love playstation, Gamers are put first.

good_ol_j 5 June, 2012 @ 9:38 pm   241

Please add Just Cause 2 at some point as I saw that the US is getting it! But anyway, thank you for being such an awesome company!

LordBattleBeard 5 June, 2012 @ 10:19 pm   242

Feedback: This move is just really disappointing. My reason for subscribing for the past 2 years was for the retro PS/PS2 games and the independently developed minis, so needless to say; this move is all but a negative one for me. I obviously see the reason for a move in this direction, given how many more people appreciate new and shiny to old and classic. On a positive note (that I dare say more people will disagree with), I’m glad to see no mention of vita inclusion/freebies, as I don’t much like the idea of subsidising that as part of my subscription.

Suggestions: Seeing as though PS/PS2 games have been kicked to the curb, it would be good to see the addition of some HD Collection games.

The addition of some more platformers/family friendly games also wouldn’t hurt.. shooting and blowing stuff up is all well and good but try giving something else more of a look in.

Raging_BulI 5 June, 2012 @ 10:21 pm   243

I know this is aimed at the wider range of gamers but i already own 80% of the games listed so it would be great if you could offer a choice, lets say 30 games to chose from and you can pick 6 or something like that. This would definitely make me get PS+ but at the moment you only seem to offer games i have already played and I don’t have any say in which games are put on the table each month.

BenSanter 5 June, 2012 @ 10:26 pm   244

This is great news, completely the right way to go.

Very happy with the update. Better PS3 games instead of minis and PS classics that I never bothered with. I can’t understand why people are moaning about losing PS classics after all why did you buy a PS3, Do you all still watch VHS through your high def TV’s.
What I think would be a useful idea would be a PS+ app for I-Phone and Android so that you could remotely download new content to your PS3 so its ready for when you get home.

JonnyPauz 5 June, 2012 @ 10:49 pm   247

First requests, digital games some are probably a bit to new but yeah here they are:-

Beyond good and evil HD
Warp
Limbo
DeathSpank (the first one to start with)
Hoard

that’s all I can think of for now, I know there is heaps more but I can’t remeber them atm.

Stoked that we get Outland always wanted that one, I already have Infamous 2 and Renegade Ops both great games. Its a good list I think I want to try out Darksiders, lbp2, motorstorm and Stranger’s Wrath. Yay Sony, you guys definately won E3.

JonnyPauz 5 June, 2012 @ 10:52 pm   248

EDIT

I wanted Swarm not hoard

ridster3 5 June, 2012 @ 11:02 pm   249

My only issue with this new scheme is that all the games seem to have been discounted before so I have purchased them and lost money but still a major improvement and couldn’t agree more with what was said about the best is yet to come as E3.

On a somewhat related topic, what dates and times does the store update as it seems to vary especially with specific releases such as CoD DLC which is updated within the pattern of the update schedule?

I have problems with this…
It’s just too good… my backlog disagrees with you.

Now to find some way of never needing to sleep so I can get more hours of video games in!

mike_291990 5 June, 2012 @ 11:34 pm   252

^ Also by that I mean this is really good ;)
I’m gonna be busy for a while with all of this. Seems like a great change!

wubsieonline 5 June, 2012 @ 11:38 pm   253

Hey, fantastic list! I’m sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times. But i’m still slightly confused. What if my subscription ends in like 2 months, after that I’m not a subscriber for a month, and after that i re-activate my subscription. Will all these games still be playable? (and downloadable?) Or do you only keep the games you download in a ‘subscription-streak’?

Many thanks!

Big_Jonny 5 June, 2012 @ 11:47 pm   254

so basically now every game after download has a 12 weeks expiration ?

crackalakaling 6 June, 2012 @ 12:14 am   255

Not sure if you read all the comments, but if so, any chance of getting a heads up on plus freebies a few months before they hit the store? Reason being i wouldnt want to buy a game, and then next thing i know its free on plus! :(

Oh and any chance for WRC 4 or WRC:rally evolved as part of the ps2 classics? Dont know where else to ask :P

crackalakaling 6 June, 2012 @ 12:15 am   256

Oh and before i forget, awesome update!

Insanely epic update :). I’m tempted to ask whether the new games expire after 12 weeks, or last as long as the subscription, as it seems every second person asks that, but given it’s been responded to multiple times already I’ll refrain! (Might be worth editing the original post though – to save work).

I have no idea how you guys are making this work, but am absolutely epicly in favour!

@254 and @257

he has already cleared in his earlier replies that the games will remain as long as you are PS+ subscriber.

bod1979 6 June, 2012 @ 12:25 am   259

is this just for the Us, or do we get it over here in the UK?

@259

this blog is for EU which includes UK. So these updates will be rolling out anytime sooner.

passivefamiliar 6 June, 2012 @ 12:57 am   261

Ok…i like being ps plus. Never regreted it till now. WHY WAS INFAMOUS 2 ON SALE LAST WEEK…IF ITS FREE THIS WEEK?!? I love discounts. Love free stuff. Everything before this has been great. But this was a bit underhanded. I know it came with all the DLC where the free one probably will not. But why…i feel betrayed here. I’m calm…but would like a response as to why this happend so ridiculously close. I get it if its been awhile and it goes from on sale to free…but one week. Was i the only one to get the short end of the stick here?

P.s. i have not even downloaded infamous 2 yet. External hard drive in my future. But…i’ll be leary buying anything for awhile now.

oggy78 6 June, 2012 @ 1:01 am   262

If you had Saints Row the Third and used the online pass then Saints Row 2 is already available for free to download for SCEE region which may explain its absence. Looking forward to Oddworld and inFamous 2 though.

Ajescent 6 June, 2012 @ 1:46 am   263

@255
They can’t announce things months ahead because things have been known to change last minute due to logistics and red tape. So if they announce something 3months in advance, they might end up changing it 3months later leaving people confused and angry so it’s best not to

EL_Socio19 6 June, 2012 @ 1:59 am   264

epic update .Thank , i have 1 years plus :)

windsorblue01 6 June, 2012 @ 2:07 am   265

im sorry but this is getting insane

AS LONG AS YOUR A PLUS MEMBER YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE GAMES

if you decide to leave access stops but if you resub at a later date for example 4 month later the games reactivate and you can play them again

windsorblue01 6 June, 2012 @ 2:10 am   266

and if you still dont understand should you really have a ps3

rix0400 6 June, 2012 @ 2:18 am   267

all i have to say is i love the new plus n PSVITA PLUS INTERGRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AndrewMartin1987 6 June, 2012 @ 2:30 am   268

how bout some insurance off the store like the US has or do we get all the rubbish PS3 an maybe better customer skills as when i phoned sony all they say is grass is always greener on the other side. an we hav to pay to call you when US get free number to sony customer care so fix that before giving away games that most hardcore gamers have, an you say dont worry about what the US get, in the 2 years iv been with ps+ only once have we got better deal than the US an thats when we got max payne free (PS2) the US had to pay for it makes a change. So why cant we all get the same update at same time i dont come online just to play with UK people i want play with US but when we get game they already finished it SORT IT SONY PLEASE!!!

sumpunk 6 June, 2012 @ 2:58 am   269

the lineup looks ok
i think my main problem is, if it’s a game i wanted, i would have bought it already. there have been a few new games offered up recently and that is a good start. i understand that it’s probably not too easy talking a developer into giving away their work. so, how about giving us some new features? honestly, this is the main reason i signed up to PS+ on day 1. at the moment i am considering dropping my subscription when it runs out in September. i have also noticed a fair few people on my friends list dropping their lately too.
maybe even offer up some stuff from the video store? a couple of free rentals rotating each month.

passivefamiliar 6 June, 2012 @ 3:14 am   270

So. Nobody has had the same problem as me? I’m the only one that bought a game off that sale last week, of the games that are now free? Wow…i was hoping ROSS MCGRATH would respond to my plight. I’m not looking for my money back. (Though that would be pretty cool) i just want to know why they put some games on sale a week before they released them for free.

Stpk4_Jojo 6 June, 2012 @ 4:28 am   271

how does the free game system work, after they get rotated out, can I still play them?
If I join ps+ and there was a game that was free in a previous rotation can I still access that game for free?

passivefamiliar 6 June, 2012 @ 5:04 am   272

Geez. People don’t understand this at all do they?

IF you get playstation plus, from that date on anything free you get. AS LONG AS YOU STAY PLUS. If you stop plus, but come back. Anything you HAD you can get again. But anything that was free when you were not plus you can not get. You have to be plus during the offer, AND remember to at least put tne game in your download que so you don’t miss it.

Its not complicated. And, its worth every penny. I may have gotten screwed out of $23, but im still well in the green on my investment buying plus. If your not plus. Get it, im a casual gamer. But i get as much free games as i buy. Outdated or not im not the type that needs a game on release day.

Still waiting on a why for the infamous deal….discounted to free in a single week.

passivefamiliar 6 June, 2012 @ 5:12 am   273

On my droid. Meant to say,’NOT the kind that needs it on release’ very few games have i got on release day. If more games become downloadable on release that may change.

homer_snake 6 June, 2012 @ 6:11 am   274

It’s so good that your giving us retail games instead of dozens of worthless minis and etc.Thank you.

Simmy_82 6 June, 2012 @ 8:32 am   276

3 games on his new list are on my Amazon wish list. Nice work.

Just need to plat WKC before I can move into these awesome games!!

stever 6 June, 2012 @ 8:34 am   277

Firstly – great work on the new structure – it seems to be a very good deal.

One question I do have though is how long will it take for new releases to appear on the service? Recent games like Awesomenauts have been added to Plus at the same time they’re released, so there’s no dilemma about whether to hold off buying something just in case it’ll come free via Plus later. If the new structure means that full retail titles are more likely to appear on Plus, but not until months or a year after release then I can see that I might hold off buying new releases just in case I get them through plus anyway.

pb-live 6 June, 2012 @ 8:38 am   278

@253 – if you leave Plus and come back you should still be able to access old games and content, even if you leave it a while before signing up again.

Goodlebak 6 June, 2012 @ 8:38 am   279

Is it possible to be included games like Just Cause 2 and LA noir?

dylanwiggan 6 June, 2012 @ 8:44 am   280

When does this come into effect? Just checked and these titles are not yet free (i’m in the UK)
thanks

ligtningrod1 6 June, 2012 @ 9:13 am   281

Download sizes posted next to the Gsames would realy have helped took a while finding. New HDD inbound.

goldenone25uk 6 June, 2012 @ 9:33 am   282

This is an excellent deal and I want to subscribe BUT without download sizes of games i’m somewhat reluctant as my internet provider only allows me a 30gb per month allowance :(

zippyonline1 6 June, 2012 @ 9:36 am   283

can you tell us what Blu-ray titles we’re getting
any news if the store will be getting Discworld soon?

Great update I feel my local game shop will not see me again this month damm you ps+ and your never ending great games :)

Big_Jonny 6 June, 2012 @ 9:47 am   284

Aren’t you guys upgrading the cloud mb? 150mb is so low.. Other competitors have more then double the amount..

150mb isn’t enough for example for Afrika and Afrika is a playstation exclusive! not even for half the size of the save file!

RevanClaw 6 June, 2012 @ 9:50 am   285

Have to say, I am VERY impressed!!

I haven’t played any of the minis I have for free and haven’t played any of the PSOne or PS2 classics given out. This is a welcome change and should make for a better experience all round!

Well done Playstation for getting consumer opinion correct!

Universality 6 June, 2012 @ 10:01 am   286

i signed up for ps+ this morning and realised after i had done it that the store update for the free games hasn’t happened yet. i’m starting to worry that i won’t get all the games. will i still get the infamous 2, LBP2, and motorstorm, as well as the rest of the games?

i don’t want to miss anything because i upgraded a few hours too early.
thanks

pb-live 6 June, 2012 @ 10:05 am   287

@284 – you did the right thing! You can quickly download the current content before the store updates, then after it updates you’ll get all the new stuff too.

Please do grab everything on offer in the current Plus area now though (look in all the folders, not just on the main bit), as they’ll all go when the store updates. Hopefully you read this in time.

pb-live 6 June, 2012 @ 10:06 am   288

@278 – usually updates with the main store update – so 4pm-5pm BST on average.

ReDhAnDtHeBlAcK 6 June, 2012 @ 10:09 am   289

Is there an ETA for the update? I don’t fancy waiting by my PS3 all day!

Unless I’m playing new games!

RobertMorridin 6 June, 2012 @ 10:09 am   290

Totally loving this. So many games I might as well stop buying games that I never finish anyway and just go for the older (but free!) games~!

Probably not though :P

Thanks!

Oh and I’m pointing and laughing at all the blokes crying about comparing to the US and other whining :D

Wigifer 6 June, 2012 @ 10:21 am   291

I like this change – Not so many games to get excited over each month, but if the quality remains consistently high then I won’t complain.

…however might I offer a suggestion? What about a “Playstation Plus Extend” where for an extra £5-£10 a year we can also get Mini’s and PSOne titles? Even if there’s low usage, can’t hurt – Those who want it get it, those who don’t care don’t, those who own a PS3\PSP\PSVita will get those little extras which make things fun (And the Mini’s do give my Vita a lot of life as at least unlike the standard PSV games they require no real focus – Ideal for short bursts!).

Skookie30 6 June, 2012 @ 10:21 am   292

here some Tips i hope will help.

1- make a note how many download you got the number top left that including the plus stuff when the sub expire that number will decrease, when you sign up again the number will increase make sure it was the same number before it was decrease that way you see if all games are back.

2- you got 6 months to renew your sub after that 6 months you lose content and all gamesaves on cloud stoage.

3- when the games get replace in the cycle rota it will only disappear from the PSN-store if you confirm download it will be added to download list

so when game disappear from the PSN-store it be still on your download list. example when it says july 18th it goes from the store but game still remains in your download list.

4- there is no 4 ^_^

there you go i fully understand how it fully works & if cloud gaming does in the end does come after 6 months you lose that as well if it part of plus?.

:)

Catkiller1 6 June, 2012 @ 10:21 am   293

You’re probably not reading this far now but incase you are, please can you try and secure a SALE on all PAIN DLC or a cheap bundle?

Kind regards

my playstation store isnt showing any of these games as free. any one else had this problem ?

jam1138 6 June, 2012 @ 10:33 am   296

Great news, thanks Ross but i dont know how many times you have to tell people that people will be able to play these games for the duration of their subscription. This also works out at 89 pence per game because you will get 45 titles per year for £39.99.I ll be subscribing today. Thanks Ross!

geektopia 6 June, 2012 @ 10:34 am   297

If you are lucky enough to have two PS3s can you download the PS+ games to both? Also, I know you said something will be happening for Vita down the track but shouldn’t this have been nutted out already? You are trying to sell that still aren’t you? (I’m a bit nervous after the PSPGo nonsense).

Catkiller1 6 June, 2012 @ 10:37 am   298

I’ve been unsure of this for a while now, but when does the EU store actually update it’s lineups?

Leufia 6 June, 2012 @ 11:23 am   302

One thing I haven’t yet figured out is, does all the free downloaded content be gone if for some reason ps+ subscription doesn’t auto-update(lack of funds in wallet for example) and you reactivate it again later?

wils_69nd_u 6 June, 2012 @ 11:25 am   303

Great update! reading this at work and cant wait to
get home and dl+play all these games! need a bigger hdd though =(
so glad i upgraded to PS+ a few months ago

tanuki-hulk 6 June, 2012 @ 11:29 am   304

Okay, so you give a reason as to why Sony America is getting 12 games off the bat, but can you tell me why we in Japan are still stuck with one freaking ps One game per month. I feel like Sony Japan just doesn’t care about its consumers at all. Such a disappointment.

Captain__Chunk 6 June, 2012 @ 11:29 am   305

This update pleases me, especially as I only own two games off of the initial list! A good mix of titles on offer, something for everyone really. Good work!

Never a fan of minis, and Silent Hill aside, I seem to have a very different opinion of what makes a PS1 classic from the powers that be.

My sub is up in the next couple of weeks, but will definitely be renewing now.

As strange as it sounds, I’d like to see some less popular titles/franchises in future updates – games like 3d Dot Game Heroes, Shadows of the Damned or Catherine would be much appreciated and all deserve a wider audience.

‘AAA’ titles are all well and good but the chances are I (and other Plussers) already own them by the time they’ll become available, though I imagine that their inclusion will be all but inevitable to attract more casual/less invested gamers to a plus subscription.

Having said that, I wouldn’t mind seeing the GOW HD collection popping up.

Is there any chance that we’ll ever get the ability to run games off an external HDD?

Scuffy_P 6 June, 2012 @ 11:34 am   306

Playstation Plus is dying an embarrassing death, and I feel such a fool for buying 3 subscriptions so far. Guess I hoped things would get better…alas tis not the case.

Last night I just happened to check against all those on my friends list who had PS+. Out of 57 people, 3 had PS+…and one of those was me.

Pathetic.

capitales7 6 June, 2012 @ 11:39 am   307

OH PS+… all this this time I’ve been resisting your temptations, but now I have succumbed to them.
TAKE ME!

sparkkydd 6 June, 2012 @ 11:41 am   308

saaame theres no update on the ps store in UK yet! soo desperate 2 play…this i snot fair the US one is already updated

Skookie30 6 June, 2012 @ 11:51 am   309

why say that ppl wanted what MS did with gold give free games of they big triple AAA, sony has done a MS on us lol

this is clearly more money costing for sony but most of the money are from us plusites.

what till other features as well with big AAA titles.

how much are PSN titles & ps1 on old plus & how much is 10 blu ray titles.

SellKidz4Chips 6 June, 2012 @ 11:51 am   310

Still no update, when does it usually happen?

Skookie30 6 June, 2012 @ 11:55 am   311

* wait

SammiBE 6 June, 2012 @ 11:57 am   312

For God’s sake people, read the thread before asking how long the games will be available…as long as you keep your subscription.

One question on that though, let’s say my subscription ends 31/12/2012 and I renew 02/01/2012 will I still have acces to all games I downloaded before or do I need to renew before end date? Not to sure how this works…If I renew before end date I guess the renewal only starts to run as from the end date of previous period right?

fauxtronic 6 June, 2012 @ 12:05 pm   313

I think you need to take your own advice and read the thread. :P

It’s been pointed out multiple times in this very thread that you can now let your subscription lapse for as long as you want, and when you resubscribe, the games you were given previously will be available to download again.

This is a good thing, because until this PS Plus overhaul that wasn’t possible. If you let your subscription lapse beyond the grace period, you didn’t get the games back when you resubscribed.

fauxtronic 6 June, 2012 @ 12:06 pm   314

@SellKidz4Chips : Normally around 4pm-5pm British time.

windsorblue01 6 June, 2012 @ 12:09 pm   315

@SammiBE 307 they will stop on 02 you can play them but when you renew you can play the same game again you may have to redownload it from your download list to change epire date but its not a full download you start it then cancel and the date changes

Sly-Ripper 6 June, 2012 @ 12:10 pm   316

Shafted again. The ONLY game on the list I thought I’d pick up was Just Cause 2, and only the US gets it…

windsorblue01 6 June, 2012 @ 12:10 pm   317

meant cant play not can

windsorblue01 6 June, 2012 @ 12:12 pm   318

i suggest people read the replies or what other people have said before asking pointless questions that make you look stupid

Skookie30 6 June, 2012 @ 12:21 pm   319

Here another tip:

if a game shows a expired but you renew your sub just reboot up the game it will correct it-self with new expire date that what i do.

as for old plus losing stuff i don’t remember that i had let my sub run out it was a full day till i renew it the day after & i never lost any content i took noted number i had in my download history list.

Munkeeluva 6 June, 2012 @ 12:24 pm   320

Thank you Ross, this a fantastic line up of games! I wont be buying any games for a long time at this rate!

I can’t help wonder how many PS+ subscribers are in the same camp as me though. I now buy a lot less games due to the included games we are getting. In fact I have traded in the majority of my collection of discs and only buy or keep the very most anticipated of releases (GTA/COD/Elder scrolls/Gran Turismo type games). I would have bought Journey by now for example, but apart from the sheer volume of games I have to play still on my PS3 I suspect it will appear one day through PS+. Is it really more profitable for Sony to Guarantee £40 a year over the multiple purchases I would have made from my local store?

As for suggestions? As one of my fellow posters says, I think it would be great to have a “PS+ Presents” for films from the Video store. Just 2 or 3 a month to promote the service. I for one completely forget about it when I go to watch a film. Maybe even an additional payment for access to the full range of titles with PS+?

Oh, and Just cause 2 next please. Seems to be a popular choice! Thanks :)

Keep up the great work. I for one wont be going anywhere!!

olly_boh 6 June, 2012 @ 12:29 pm   321

When are these games going on the UK store, I can’t wait as some great games have been chosen.

fauxtronic 6 June, 2012 @ 12:32 pm   322

@Munkeeluva I was thinking the same, and will be very surprised if the subscription fee for PS+ isn’t increased in a few months time.

olly_boh 6 June, 2012 @ 12:41 pm   323

So its not just my account then. Still can’t understand why they have to do separate stores for different parts of the world instead of just one for everyone. I have a US account set up on my PS3 so might buy a PSN card and upgrade that account to PS+.

skatefreek 6 June, 2012 @ 12:46 pm   324

what about the normal game store update?? should be updated today right?

RobertMorridin 6 June, 2012 @ 12:55 pm   325

Seperate stores likely have to do with licensing stuff.
In the US a game gets distributed by just one company. Over here in Europe some countries will have their own license holder (likely due to localisation) so for a sale Sony EU will have to coordinate with all the license holders.

Now, if that had to be done for the US and the EU by 1 party it would take a lot more time before the store gets updates and such due to all the hassle involved.

By putting the EU in it’s own store they can at least have a bit more focus on each territory. The ‘drawback’ of course is that they will also have seperate releases due to a need for more coordination over here in Europe.

At least that’s what I guess by a comment waaaaaay back when from one of the Store Team folks about Tekken 3 not coming on PSN due to Gon’s licensing. Can easily imagine (what with all the language versions of games) that would go for more games.

PKCrusader 6 June, 2012 @ 12:55 pm   326

I can’t wait. What time will it be? GB time.

zippyonline1 6 June, 2012 @ 1:04 pm   327

too everyone asking what time psn updates it is 3pm so look at about 3:30pm

some of these games could take a day to download ;)

damien14273 6 June, 2012 @ 1:14 pm   328

Seriously impressed guys! Great job on making plus even better! I have been a subscriber from the start and it has been a fantastic investment. I will certainly be renewing my subscription come September. As for a suggestion for future games, what I’d really like to see is Final Fantasy X HD when it comes out, but you guys are doing an awesome job so I can’t wait what else you have in the pipeline for us! Thanks guys!

crazy9eyes 6 June, 2012 @ 1:17 pm   329

does anyone know what date and time are the new ps+ games going to be updated in the uk?
ive been just waiting since the us announcment

crazy9eyes 6 June, 2012 @ 1:21 pm   330

finally some proper game titles. I was very disappointed with hamsterball and awesomenauts.

SammiBE 6 June, 2012 @ 1:22 pm   331

@fauxtronic: Thx! And you are right, just haven’t had the time to go through all 300 of them, saw the ‘as long as you keep your subscription’ one several times though… ^_^

Golwar 6 June, 2012 @ 1:23 pm   332

I’m wondering about this statement in the little FAQ:

How come SCEA subscribers get 12 games and we only get 10?
It’s true, SCEA get two more games than SCEE subscribers up front.
However, most titles in SCEA Plus will stick around for 16 weeks before being refreshed – in SCEE we keep games for a maximum of 12 weeks, which means we rotate through more games in a full year.

This give the impression as if we’d get more games a year, but that just isn’t reasonable. Why? Well we have 6 of our 10 games in that 12 week rotation, the US probably 8 of their 12 games in their 16 week rotation.

Result: They get 2+1 game minimum new each month, exactly as us. With their benefit that new subscribers have more titles available and that everyone has 4 weeks more to download the games.

So Ross, did I get something wrong?

fauxtronic 6 June, 2012 @ 1:32 pm   333

@SammiBE I understand, and thank you for taking my comment so nicely considering I was a bit sarcastic. I think many questions are being repeated because nobody wants to trawl through the hundreds of comments posted since yesterday. ;)

Oh well. I guess it will fall silent here when the store is updated in a couple of hours. :D

SpikePuppet 6 June, 2012 @ 1:34 pm   334

Gotta say im so impressed with this lineup. when i saw it on the e3 stream i went out and bought a card so i could buy plus (and already bought it :) ), such great values, good work sony :). have one question though, when will these be up for us aussies?

thethiny 6 June, 2012 @ 1:36 pm   335

Just checked the UAE Store , there no deal like that there! No free games , just the old PS+ games!
When will this be available please?

Munkeeluva 6 June, 2012 @ 1:44 pm   336

@Fauxtronic, so do we think this is all building to justify a higher charge for PS+ in the future then? I guess it makes sense. It’s a lot of game for very little money (less than £1 a game for the main 45 alone if I worked it out right, not to mention all the other perks).

CR1M50N_F0X 6 June, 2012 @ 1:46 pm   337

It’s the 7th now here in NZ and still no psn+ update with these new free games. What’s the deal?

fauzman 6 June, 2012 @ 1:49 pm   338

Sweet bunch of games. Would have preferred the US list of as Just Cause 2 and R&C All 4 One are games I really really want but what Im getting is still great.

fauzman 6 June, 2012 @ 1:52 pm   339

Lol. Zippyonline above mentioned that psn Store updates at 3.00pm. For us in NZ that would be around 2.30-3.00am.

PKCrusader 6 June, 2012 @ 1:53 pm   340

@CR1M50N_F0X: It’s Great Brittain time.

Kartana 6 June, 2012 @ 1:55 pm   341

They won’t change the price for plus because of the better games you get. It is the end of the current console cycle. They’r trying to bind the customers via those great deals.
Also it would have made more sense if they came out and said ‘we are upping the price for plus BUT you get 10 awesome retail games and another 2 every x weeks etc”. Changing the format just to up the price 1 or 2 month later would be stupid because I’ll probably get a full year now because of the changes they made.

Feck2009 6 June, 2012 @ 1:55 pm   342

any chance of getting Okami?

freddy-2801 6 June, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   343

This is a very nice upgrade of the PS+ subscribtion!
Will the Mini’s, PS One and PS2 titles stil be available for (payable) download? I never cared for most of them myself, but I know there’s a bunch of people who loves them!

As for suggestions for PS+ titles for the coming months:
- Burnout Paradise Cmplete Edition (a nice warm-up for the upcoming NFS Most Wanted, October 30th)
- Enslaved – Odyssey to the West (couple of years old an heavyly underrated)
- RE4 HD or RE5 Gold (or both!) as warming up for the upcoming RE6. Gives some players a change to fully get into the story.
- Dragon Age Origins – Ultimate Edition (simply because I want it :-) )

Omegabug2003 6 June, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   344

Is there any news on Legend of Dragoon coming to Europe?

AndyBeans 6 June, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   345

Yay, glad to see the back of the minis and PSOne games… it’s good to see PSN’s flagship subscription discounting/giving games that test the PS3 (rather than ones which wouldn’t even test my phone).

However I’m still not convinced about the comparison to SCEA… rotating quicker is immaterial but 12 – 10 = 2 games more for US gamers no matter how you dress it up… we’re just going to see those 10 games rotate quicker, no?

paraz1on 6 June, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   346

how long till update the store ??? .. some things should be chaned 2 days ago!

lesteve 6 June, 2012 @ 2:34 pm   347

As a long term ps+ subscriber I love this new direction and can not believe how generous you guys are. What time does the store update in uk and for next month 1 game I would really like to see is Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Just Cause 2 if possible. Thank you once again for providing an excellent service with fantastic benefits

pb-live 6 June, 2012 @ 2:39 pm   348

Another plus for Plus (!) 18th July is my Birthday – so more games on my Birthday. yey! It’s like you knew, Ross.

mightygib 6 June, 2012 @ 2:40 pm   349

I was wondering how supportive are third party developers of this. Will we see more SONY/PS3 exclusives than multi-platform games appearing on PLUS or will it be evenly distributed. What are the chances of a GTA, COD,FIFA or other third party developed titles being involved??

An3yski 6 June, 2012 @ 2:51 pm   350

Great stuff, can’t wait to play them all ;)

But (there’s a but yes) shouldn’t they be available from today (6th) as I still cannot see them on the PSN store? When will they be available to download then?

AndrewFord1989 6 June, 2012 @ 2:52 pm   351

What time does the Playstation Store update in the United Kingdom?

blendercat27 6 June, 2012 @ 2:54 pm   352

Don’t want to sound like I’m complaining (because I generally dislike the sort of senseless whining some users post), but I think I’ll miss the old Plus system. That isn’t to say I’m not impressed by the free games on offer, but rather that I preferred more games that I can’t buy in a box, and the simple monthly rotation.

I buy A LOT of (boxed)games, so the chances of me already having ‘AAA’ Plus titles, is high. I’m a collector, and I’ve never traded a game in my life. Hell, I even buy games I don’t like or ever play. I saw the US list and realized I own most of the games on their list(boxed), so (oddly) I’m glad this list is different (sort of).

Was hoping for an e3 announcement about ending this system of some content and services not offered to consumers based on nationality. But, perhaps next-gen: A world where all PS4(?) owners can access the same content, and publishers can make more moneys reaching a wider audience via a truly global digital service. I can dream, can’t I?

Anyway, I do love you, Ross. Keep fighting for us. Thanks for the update.

blendercat27 6 June, 2012 @ 3:06 pm   353

P.S. The e3 livestream provided on the blog, did not play in the PS3 browser. In fact I can’t get any live streaming video to play in this browser at all. Even on youtube, which usually plays just fine, it refuses to play live content.

I’ve checked and indeed have the latest firmware, and Adobe’s auto-message tells me I have the latest version of Flash player. Cleared cache, cookies, etc… Tried literally everything and no luck.

Any chance of a new PS3 browser? I ask here because if a better one was available on the store I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I’d be happy to have one that didn’t regularly freeze my console forcing me to wait while the system scans for errors upon reboot (which is always scary).

fauxtronic 6 June, 2012 @ 3:15 pm   354

@Munkeeluva I think so, yes, but maybe I’m just cynical because I’ve seen so many companies improve a service to justify increasing the price at a later date. Maybe Sony will buck the trend and keep it priced as is, but like you, I can’t fathom how this benefits Sony or even third party developers. I’ll struggle to complete games I already own now due to the distraction of having so many new, free games. Why would I want to buy games any more?

I hope we’re wrong, and the advantages for Sony outweigh the disadvantages. ;)

sparkkydd 6 June, 2012 @ 3:22 pm   355

andrew30101978 6 June, 2012 @ 3:49 pm   361

What would be nice one month is to bring the buzz Junior games like jungle party, monster rumble, robo jam, ace racers and dino den, i have the games but to be able to download them and play them on a ps3 would be so much better, so ross bring them please and where is the much spoke about cloud back up for vita

vrowdy 6 June, 2012 @ 3:59 pm   362

Well, this really sounds great! I’ve never been a fan of the minis anyway (only one or two I really liked) and the PSOne Classics (although some are very nice) are a bit old and many of them I’ve played already.

So, this is a major improvement! Thanks.
Can’t wait to try LBP2, especially with the Vita/RemotePlay update later on.

Also, I would be more than willing to pay extra for a PS Vita+ subscription as well. Perhaps just keep it at €50 for either a PS3+ or PSV+ subscription and (for example) €75 for both together. But I guess there should be some more Vita games first before something like this can be done :)

Personally I really like games like A-Men (Vita), Blue Toad Murder files (PS3), Mushroom Wars (PS3), Sam&Max (PS3), Monsters (PSP/PS3) etc, more the strategic/adventure/puzzle/tower defense games, so any more games along those lines would be really appreciated.

>> Last night I just happened to check against all those on my friends list who had PS+.
>> Out of 57 people, 3 had PS+…and one of those was me.

i have 12 out of 28, and i’m not one of them.

>>However I’m still not convinced about the comparison to SCEA…
>>rotating quicker is immaterial but 12 – 10 = 2 games more for US
>>gamers no matter how you dress it up… we’re just going to see
>>those 10 games rotate quicker, no?

2 more up front yes, over the longer term no. refreshing the games more quickly should more than even it up.

it seems to me, you get 3 games available all year, plus 6 to start, 12 games of the month (1 to start), and if games last for a maximum of 12 weeks, then 24 games will be refreshed, so 3 + 6 + 12 + 24 = 45 games, just like ross said, not counting any extra they might throw in.

twistedintoform 6 June, 2012 @ 4:03 pm   364

i can see how this would be great for some people, it’s definitely very good value, but it wouldn’t convince me to sign up for PS+. i already have the 4 games on the list that would interest me, i prefer games on disc (not an hdd issue – i have a 640gb fat and a 320gb slim), and i tend to buy the games i want to play when they are released, not a year later. for £35-40 a year, i can’t see new retail releases ever being a part of the deal, and i wouldn’t ever not buy something on the hope it’ll show up on a subscription service at a later date.

Ross can we get a discount on the VF5 DLC as plus subs?

If a PS+ subscriber wants the complete edition of VF5R they either have to buy the full game again at £20 or buy each individual DLC pack at £3.69 each (and I believe that there are 18 of them £66.42?).

Can we get some sort of discounted upgrade to the complete edition?
We’re getting the game for free so ideally I was hoping the upgrade to complete edition would cost £10.

Shame that Ratchet and Clank isnt on our list like americas, that was the main game I was looking forward to. Unfortunately for me as well I already own Darksiders, Infamous 2 and outland. Still a nice little collection of free games though.

Thanks.

Suggestions for upcoming PS+ in the future Portal 2, Modnation Racers but i really wanna get Binary Domain on PS+ for free!, fear 3 & shadows of the damned thanks again.

Dad0xen 6 June, 2012 @ 6:16 pm   387

Dear Playstation,

Now that you have released a new and improved PS+, why don’t you release a Bundle (160GB PS3 or more :) ) plus a PS+ subscription for a year. That way anyone how buys the bundle gets 10 great games to from the start, instead of just one.
Also he will get used to PSN and PS+ and he will gain a better understanding of what it means to own a PS3.
furthermore, anyone how buys a new PS3 most definitely hasn’t played those games(at least not all of them)

I cannot see any better value for money than that.

Also thanks for being awesome….

Do you have to download the game to redownload it or do you just have to “buy” it. You know, tag it with the red shoping bag.

AJROSS80 6 June, 2012 @ 6:38 pm   392

Hey Ross, im definitely interested in Plus again, can you keep these downloaded games on your hard drive for as long as you have Plus or do they time out?

Hi everyone!

I’m from Hungary, so please excuse my poor grammar!

First of all, keep up the good work! I really want to tell you, how amazing the work you do! For me there’s really one problem with this update. Usually I don’t get a lot from it. Our hungarian store lacks. We don’t get all the PS Plus content the UK store has, and I’m thrilled by that. Just an example: the Outland appeared on the store as a folder today (it wasn’t available before), but no content in it. And this is a usual thing for us sadly. Simply the only thing keeping me from subscription is this simple fact. I really want to try for example Space Marine, but it is not uploaded at all. And a store goes by this in every aspect. Only a few PSP and PS2 games uploaded, and we don’t even have a PSone section. Jack Tretton just announced PSone compatibility for the Vita, and I won’t even have the ability to buy anything.

The reason why I write that I hope you can fix this issue. From what I know from Sony Hungary, the our store is controlled from the UK. I hope you can fix this issue, I would really appreciate it, and I’d certainly buy a subscription.

Thank you for reading my long comment!

Cruise84 6 June, 2012 @ 7:47 pm   397

Re-guarding Mad Riders,I know you say

“Free and Exclusive Daredevil Map Pack with purchase of Mad Riders until June 20th”

But when I see the little add on the side while in the Plus menu, It leads me to believe the game is free as it has the price at €9.99 and the Plus Price €0:00
next to the other adverts for free games this is kinda confusing, at all the plus price should not be there.

Basket21 6 June, 2012 @ 8:54 pm   398

Whats with the online pass u can buy for space marines ??

Do i need that ?

I thought it was the full game we got with Plus

PKCrusader 6 June, 2012 @ 8:58 pm   399

So, do you have to download the game to redownload it later (after it is gone from PS+) or do you just have to “buy” it. You know, tag it with the red shoping bag and get it on the download list?

Basket21 6 June, 2012 @ 8:59 pm   400

Oh never mind :)

I see when i dl the game it downlaods the pass too .. so its included.

A GOOD JOB PS-PLUS TEAM! :)

MrSaintz 6 June, 2012 @ 9:42 pm   403

Hey Ross,
Here is my comment to the news on PS+:
- Note to self: Keep PS+ subscription at all cost.

I have to say congratulations on the new approach, now you made PS+ worth every penny.
About ideas/suggestions here are a couple:
- apps like Skype and others, why is that psvita or even psp is worth having more apps than the bigger/stronger brother ps3?
- discounts on subscriptions like mw3 elite or dc universe online?

Keep the good news coming, cheers.
MrSaintz

zippyonline1 6 June, 2012 @ 9:57 pm   404

@399 yer as long as you tag them they are yours :)

jozhster 6 June, 2012 @ 10:07 pm   405

so do these games last us to june 2013 or will plus give us new games every month.. or every 3 month, i’m a little confused lol

Bjarno86 6 June, 2012 @ 10:19 pm   406

@jozhster

What is there to be confused about, it’s crystal clear how many games you’ll get from now on, the post says:

“You’re getting 10 games up front and from next month, 3 of those games will change, and you’ll get at least 3 games per month thereafter.”

jozhster 6 June, 2012 @ 10:30 pm   407

2 Suggestions:
Infamous….can’t enjoy infamous 2 without playing the first one lol.
Ratchet and clank Crack in time….. i know everyones after R&C All 4 one but i would rather have crack in time as thats the best R&C.
thanks for listening well reading lol
thanks alot ross always thought you had something up your sleeve :)

KRadiation 6 June, 2012 @ 10:44 pm   408

I keep trying to post on here using the app but my messages never seen to appear. App glitch?

Anyway – big thank you for this. I’ve had my eye on some of these games for a while but just had other things ahead of them to play.

You say your after ideas for other games. How about some hard to find games like 3D Dot Heroes?

jozhster 6 June, 2012 @ 10:46 pm   409

one last thing to add:
i understand why you add the metacritic scores to the games to make them more appealing and show what the general opinion is on the game

but maybe you should use PSN’s magazine rating or ur OWN personal score on it out of ten because metacritic is not the fairest scoring site on the web i mean come on how is infamous 2 not in the 90′s or a 9/10.

hope you read this as your opinion would be of more value to me then metacritic where they have unfair scores.

thanks

Sneapy 6 June, 2012 @ 11:14 pm   410

I always thought PS+ was great value for money before. But this offer is just crazy.

As far as requests for future games go. I’d quite like to see some of the HD Collections that have come out recently included in this. For example I’d like to play Jak and Daxter again in HD. But I find it hard to justify buying another version of a game I already own when there are so many great new games being released that I haven’t already played. So if they where included in this deal, that would solve that problem :).

I would also like to see games with a strong multiplayer focus included, so that it would help to keep the online communities strong. MAG Would be one I’d love to see, since it was a concept I was really interested in. However I don’t like buying multiplayer only games since their quality heavily depends on how strong the community is, which can be unpredictable.

Also Dead Space and Demons Souls would make me happy :).

Basket21 6 June, 2012 @ 11:14 pm   411

I so want final fantasy 13 to be a free game :) but i doubt that will ever happen

jozhster 6 June, 2012 @ 11:32 pm   412

one last suggestion would be shank, we got shank 2 free a few month ago and would love to play the first one, also on what you said on PS1′s and PS2 games where only the best could get into plus well….why not look at the back catalogue i for one would love seeing classic PS1′s like metal gear and an oddworld PS1 title.

Big_Boss85 7 June, 2012 @ 1:18 am   415

Awesome update. Very glad to see Virtua Fighter 5 on there, saved me £10 already.

Big_Jonny 7 June, 2012 @ 1:25 am   416

@ 287 – That will not make cloud mb go bigger…

@ Ross – So Ps plus europe will have more games then ps plus usa? For example they (ps plus usa)offer this month 3 – 5 different games (JC 2 and Rachtet A4O for example), will those 3 – 5 be avaiable later in ps europe? Not the exclusives like Choplifter HD those I know the answer

SakitoriNinja 7 June, 2012 @ 1:56 am   417

I take it the game pass for warhammer is free also :) my fiancee is gonna wanna throw my ps under a bus HAHA!!

stefanv27 7 June, 2012 @ 3:52 am   418

Damn.. i need to get a bigger HDD today… Awesome change.. i was expecting this when i’ve received the survey…

XLR-8_ 7 June, 2012 @ 4:14 am   419

hey great update any chance of borderlands in the future ? when u say blu ray titles , which ones and how do i get them ? thanx

Diabels 7 June, 2012 @ 5:07 am   421

Pięknie

pb-live 7 June, 2012 @ 7:38 am   422

@420 – Bluray titles mean games that have appeared on Bluray (ie: in physical format), not movies.

PerttiT 7 June, 2012 @ 8:47 am   423

This is almost perfect! Now I just need more time (and hdd space) to play all of these.

My wishlist:

GTA IV & Episodes from Liberty City
Mass Effect 2 & 3
Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Splatterhouse
Two Worlds II
Catherine
Journey
Limbo
Frogger Returns :)

Tsubaki_14 7 June, 2012 @ 9:14 am   424

I’m kinda mixed up about the change will have to wait a couple of months to see if it’s positive or not.

As for game requests I’d love to see sly cooper 2 & 3 on there :D I absolutely loved the first one!

Also, seeing more variety would be appreciative, from the games lined up right now all I see is a single person’s favorites, adding more genres to cater to everyone would be a lot better. Not everyone’s into WRPGs and shooters.

PlayerC90 7 June, 2012 @ 9:15 am   425

Really great update. But for some reason Renegade Ops is not free on the German Store?

Tsubaki_14 7 June, 2012 @ 9:17 am   426

I also want to know, why is PSN+ subscription so much more expensive in UAE/UK region than in US? Our’s is 15 bucks more expensive!

Tsubaki_14 7 June, 2012 @ 9:20 am   427

also I agree with PerttiT above Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection please! Sorry about the numerous posts can’t edit previous ones

Belegur 7 June, 2012 @ 9:58 am   428

Hi Ross,

Firstly, amazing news for Plus. I’ve had it since day one, always thought it represented good value, and now it’s a no brainier. I work in retail and have mentioned the new deal to plenty of customers already, three of which have come back to thank me after signing up in the last 24 hours.

I have a very important question… which I think would make life much easier for all us PSN faithful. Is it at all possible to make the download lists for our accounts searchable & have them display if content is currently installed or not on our console? I for instance have well over 700 items currently in my download list. These features would make our accounts a lot less awkward to use, especially moving forward with all this great content coming to Plus.

A reply would really be appreciated. Cheers!

fauxtronic 7 June, 2012 @ 10:03 am   429

Instead of free games next month can we have a free 2TB hard drive upgrade? XD

juicetins 7 June, 2012 @ 10:07 am   430

Awesome, awesome, awesome.
I really tired of the ps1 and minis and found most to be a complete waste of time or something I played years ago (and let’s be honest…for most memories like that you really can’t go back..it’s not the same) better quality games makes PS+ so much better value. Thanks so much for listening to our feedback in the survey, can’t wait to see what’s to come (now where do I find the time to try all these games and play through my pile of shame?)

Great improvement of the service guys, really awesome!
Liked the ps1 and minis, but didn’t really play them. Still hope to see lots of awesome PSN titles like awesomenauts, which was a great game.

Some titles I would like to see are

Complete Sly Raccoon collection
God of war HD collection
new LBP Karting (!!!!)
and of course Playstation All-stars Battle Royale

w00tn01z 7 June, 2012 @ 11:05 am   432

Awesome turn of the events!
I really am satisfied with the direction ps+ is going, altough i never complained on ps+ i’ve got to say it’s getting bigger and better.

As for the games, you should consider adding Team Buddies for PS1.
Lack of presence of this game (not only for ps+ but in the whoole ps store) is disturbing.
I won’t comply if this game will never be added to the ps-store, but just try it, that game is really fun.
As for the rest im always happy with what you choose for us, your loyal subscribers.

Cheers

Chr15toff3e 7 June, 2012 @ 12:47 pm   433

Isn’t there going to be free avatars or themes from now on? Didn’t notice any the last time I checked. Hope they continue to be a part of the Plus subscription.

I also noticed that some games that are offered free to play are from the free trials list. Other games on there such as Borderlands and Resi 5 would be my choices for Plus in the later months.

windsorblue01 7 June, 2012 @ 12:57 pm   434

@Chr15toff3e if you look on update there is free avatars and a theme but they must have forgotten to put them on the store

ChoZanWan 7 June, 2012 @ 1:16 pm   435

This is awesome, but my only issue is one of updates. I’ve just downloaded most of this month’s awesomeness, but now I have to individually update each title!

Surely you guys could make the latest version of the game the one that is downloaded, instead of the original then updated?

Chr15toff3e 7 June, 2012 @ 1:24 pm   436

@windsorblue01: Nice one. But looking at those avatars and that PS+ theme, I’m in no rush to receive them.

I’m happy with the games alone this month, no harm done.

kingstonkids 7 June, 2012 @ 1:30 pm   437

Not related to this awesome update but does anyone know what price Assassins Creed 2 is without the 30% discount and when is the discount applied as when I go to checkout the price does not change
Thanks in advance if anyone can help out.

Rooney53 7 June, 2012 @ 2:48 pm   438

I’ve always resisted and put off getting a PS+ subscription but now it just looks too good to pass up.

Just one question though – If I take out a 3 month subscription, let it expire and don’t renew it for say…. 12 months. When I renew will I have access to the games I downloaded in my first subscription?

Munkeeluva 7 June, 2012 @ 2:51 pm   439

@Rooney53, it worked for me after 8 months or so off PS+. I believe it’s still the same. Just download them again from your list.

Rooney53 7 June, 2012 @ 3:01 pm   440

Cheers Munkeeluva!

Zimon 7 June, 2012 @ 3:58 pm   441

I signed up for PS+ just because of this offering! It’s unbelievable that we get Infamous 2, LBP 2, Oddworld, Outland and Motorstorm Apocalypse for a year at the price of €50. And with more games being added to boot. Un-freaking-believable!!

vrowdy 7 June, 2012 @ 4:15 pm   442

^^^ This would be really useful. Also, it would be nice if could just sort it by date, alphabetically or by system/genre of whatever. Now it’s just a big list in random order. More filters like installed/not installed and perhaps some way to have a favourites list would be great as well.

bloobat 7 June, 2012 @ 4:51 pm   443

Great changes! lots of downloading though :( haha

Would really love to realistically see:
-Sports Champions 1
-A Bioshock game
-Enslaved
-The JAk and Daxter Triology
-Pay Day: The Heist

Unrealistically at the moment but would really love:
-Portal 2
-Scorcery
-Starhawk

Anyway those are my suggestions, also a raise in Storage space for saves is much needed :)
Besides that love the changes!!!!

bloobat 7 June, 2012 @ 4:54 pm   444

Oh and I can’t believe I forgot journey!!!! would LOVE that game :)

Selxis 7 June, 2012 @ 5:01 pm   445

I’m almost sold on this…

I just need to know if there’s a good chance we’ll see games like Resistance 3 and Ico & the Shadow of Colossus for free?

mxk1000 7 June, 2012 @ 5:42 pm   446

Cracking update. Goodbye HD space.
15gb for Infamous 2……ooooooooooooch.
Think a HD upgrade or some serious file management is needed

truescotsman999 7 June, 2012 @ 7:22 pm   447

Dang, really wanted SR2. A great classic from what I’ve heard, one that I have not had the chance to purchase.

ptpete 7 June, 2012 @ 7:59 pm   448

Not sure what’s going on, but on the playstation plus main page I am being informed that mad riders is free with playstation plus, yet when I click on it, it’s £7.99! Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be much appreciated!

B8dRobot 7 June, 2012 @ 9:32 pm   449

Agree with bloobat regarding the storage allowance, good times ahead I guess on the PS3. Dunno if this is the place to post it but I’d like to see a free movie to watch every month too, even if it was only to rent. Great job and much appreciated from me too.

SCOTCHmfCHIEF 7 June, 2012 @ 11:07 pm   450

Hi Ross, This is probably pushing it, Could we get Journey sometime soon, And Red Dead Redemption. We would all love San andreas. Oblivian, Metal gear 4, And when PS+ is compatible with PS Vita, It would be great to get Flow, the three GTA’s, That would go down very well. Hopefully we see even one, Or two coming some time in the future. Oh and thanks for this, Its truly exceptional.

azakajam 7 June, 2012 @ 11:48 pm   451

This is so lucky!

I was going to buy LBP2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse but now I don’t have to since they’re free!

Think I got away nicely with that one :p

vI-FoDDeR-Iv 8 June, 2012 @ 4:13 am   452

hey Ross,
great job with the lineup, some good games on offer, however the US got zombie apocalypse a four player co-op, would games of this nature not be better served as a world release. a lot of the people on my list are state side and the possibility is that they could of moved on by the time we get it(if/when)

ROMAN-Guitarman 8 June, 2012 @ 5:20 am   453

Nice news!!! Glad that PS Plus continues its developing.

RealMrLag 8 June, 2012 @ 6:24 am   454

Hello,

I’m having an issue with Darksiders, for some reason its has trial period. All other games are running without any issues. Is there a way to solve this?

BBBD69 8 June, 2012 @ 8:26 am   455

Great update. Just a quick question i’m wondring if anyone can help me with.
The post above states “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine will be available until 18th July 2012″
When reading the description on the PS Store it states that it will be available to download until 04/07/12.
Every game seems to have this problem also including LBP2, Infamous 2 and Motorstorm which are supposed to be available for a year.
Is this just a missprint and will the games be available to download past this date? There was a similar mistake a few months ago with the latest Sam & Max game where it states it was in the sale until a certain date, when i checked a couple of days before the date stated it had already been removed from the sale. I would be grateful if someone could clarify this question before i make a PS+ purchase. Thanks.

***SCEE – PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT***

I’M FROM SRI LANKA. LIKE MANY OTHER COUNTRIES, MINE IS ALSO NOT LISTED IN PSN. SO, I CAN’T BUY ANYTHING FROM PSN (ESPECIALLY I’D LIKE TO BECOME A PS PLUS MEMBER). IF IT’S HARD TO MANAGE EVERY COUNTRY INDIVIDUALLY, ATLEAST YOU SHOULD MERGE COUNTRIES INTO REGIONS LIKE EA’S ORIGIN DOES. THE INDIAN PSN STORE SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE TRANSACTIONS FROM ALL SOUTH ASIAN COUNTRIES.

I’M DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED BY YOUR SYSTEM. I’M SURE YOU ARE LOSING MANY CUSTOMERS BECAUSE IF THIS. HOPING THE NECESSARY ACTION WILL BE TAKEN SOON.

Great updates, Really good game line up. Didn’t play minis or PS classics, I bought a PS3 to play high definition games. Some other games I would like to see would be Red Dead Redemption, Call of Juarez, The first few Assassins Creed, Uncharted etc.

Another suggestion is about the one hour trial. I don’t find this long enough to test a game so how about allowing users to pay a bit more to extend the trial period so it would be like renting a game.

I also wanted to ask a question about auto renewal. I no longer use my debit card on the store since the problems last year, I just buy the PSN cards instead. So am I right in assuming that as long as I have the funds in my wallet then PS+ will automatically update when my current subscription expires?

windsorblue01 8 June, 2012 @ 10:09 am   459

@RealMrLag had the same problem with darksider i just played through the 60mins then whent back to the store start to redownload it then cancel loaded and everything was fine it just carried on where you left off

leequanton 8 June, 2012 @ 10:11 am   460

Awesome selection of games, downloading them all now to my HDD. What’s the chances of celebrating the release of Assassin’s Creed III by giving plus members the previous versions. (Particularly Revelations as that’s the one I missed so far). :D

sandkillerpt 8 June, 2012 @ 11:20 am   461

Brilliant update!

I’m really excited about this. I will definitely renew my subscripion and i have 2 friends who have finished theirs but are coming back because of this.

In terms of games suggestions, i would suggest bioshock 2 and batman arkham asylum.

Cheers!

Catkiller1 8 June, 2012 @ 11:53 am   462

The only thing that’s confusing is Virtua Fighter is advertised within the store with a price tag of £19.99 or free for PLUS members, but the free version we received was the £9.99 version!

Should we have received the complete version?

Zulu1879 8 June, 2012 @ 1:00 pm   463

Fantastic month to be a subscriber. although i have some of the games felt i needed to download digital versions. Now need to invest in new hdd. Altgough not ps+ specific can we have more bluray games available digitally. way forward for me now although prices should be equal to shops i.e. 39.99.

Shank4life 8 June, 2012 @ 1:14 pm   464

I will absolutely buy ps plus again because its worth the money your paying as you get exclusive things as freebies and discounts etc

windsorblue01 8 June, 2012 @ 1:39 pm   465

just a suggestion but every now and again put a less popular title as less people are likely to have it i dont mean every update:)

thecakeisalie078 8 June, 2012 @ 1:59 pm   466

Can’t believe that my PS3 decided to YLOD right before this update! Been a memeber of PS+ for over a year now and when the content gets good, my PS3 decides it isn’t having any of it :(

Well done though Sony on this move, you have definitely hit the nail on the head. Old things do sometimes need a bit of change to bring a bit of life back into them right? Keep it up :)

fauxtronic 8 June, 2012 @ 2:11 pm   467

@RealMrLag Some games require you to download both the demo version plus the “full version upgrade” patch. You need to download both files to get the full version. If it still says “trial” or “demo” in the game launcher menu – that will normally change once you’ve run the game for the first time. If not, try downloading the ‘full version upgrade’ again. Every time you do that, it re-attempts to activate the full version of the product.

windsorblue01 8 June, 2012 @ 2:14 pm   468

@fauxtronic there is only one file to download on darksiders which says full game so it dosent apply to that game

whitedove1 8 June, 2012 @ 2:44 pm   469

holy hell sony almost gave me a heart attack, i allways thought a leopard cant change its spots glad to see they can a bit, but its a shame the us/jp stores get more again, but you cant complain when you get games like this, just need a better browser and games share slots back to six and otheros returned keep up the good work sony and carry on listing to us we like it

willbillbill 8 June, 2012 @ 3:47 pm   470

I love PLUS for this great update, but hate them for what they are doing to my broadband infamous 2 is 15gb…it’ll be worth it when its done

Gibbon_Elite 8 June, 2012 @ 4:28 pm   471

Great selection, but only issue I have is I already own InFamous 2, LBP2, Darksiders, Outcast and Motorstorm Apocalypse. Purely on a personal level and the games I own already the US selection is far better for me. As I have not got titles such as Ratchet & clank all4one, Tomb raider, Just cause etc.

Catkiller1 8 June, 2012 @ 4:32 pm   472

@ Gibbon_Elite

Trade your games & get some credit towards something else you may like & download the digital versions!

I got a new 320GB ps3 for Xmas from my fiancée and I decided to renew my PS+ for another year last Monday….then came the E3 announcement about all of these free ps3 games I can have!!!! JOYGASIM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Althearies 8 June, 2012 @ 7:46 pm   474

Hi thanks a lot for the awesome update, i really like the new system. I was just wondering if you’re going to change/fix Virtua Fighter Final Showdown. Currently we only get the Imcomplete/demo version.

Some numbers:
PS+ free version plus the two bundles that make it into a Complete Edition for 12,88€/10,42£ x 2 = 25,76€/20,84£.
While non+ users pay 27,89€/22,56 for the “Complete Edition”

As a “PlayStation®Plus Game of the Month”
it’s more like a 2.2€/1,72£ discount than a free game.
I’m just wondering if we can only get complete games in the future as “PlayStation®Plus Game of the Month” goes.

Thanks a lot for the great games, PS+ really is worth every penny.

Black-xpto 8 June, 2012 @ 8:19 pm   475

Excellent offer!! I finally decided to buy psn plus, now it’s really worth the money.
I was a bit sad that US got ratchet and clank and EU didn’t., i hope we get that game in the future.
Another thing i would like to see is plus for vita…
Tks :) and keep up the good work eheh

Helvedeshunden 8 June, 2012 @ 10:43 pm   476

Same problem here. Darksiders and Infamous show up as trials.

Leonard0055 8 June, 2012 @ 11:26 pm   477

Can somebody answer me a couple of questions:

1. If I stop paying for my PlayStation + account for some time and then continue paying for it again ( for summer I go to my summer house were there isn’t any internet connection), will I get all of mine previously owned games (that I got for free, because of my PlayStation + subscription) back or will I lose them?

2. Will otter account’s on my PlayStation 3 be able to play games that I got from being a PlayStation + subscriber?

windsorblue01 9 June, 2012 @ 12:04 am   478

@Helvedeshunden allready explained how to do darksiders get past the 60mins trial look for one of my posts on here

windsorblue01 9 June, 2012 @ 12:09 am   479

@Leonard0055 for number 2 yes my son plays them on his playstation i have my account on his 2 because i ran out of space on my ps3 but he can play then on his account just install them with your account on another playstation but you are ltd now to ony downloading on to 2 ps3 max i think

windsorblue01 9 June, 2012 @ 12:12 am   480

@Leonard0055 to number 1 yes you should you cant play them when your subscription runs out but if u resub you should be able to download them again of your list and continue playing unless they have changed the rules again

windsorblue01 9 June, 2012 @ 12:17 am   481

oh and thanks to who ever told the store team about the missing avatars got them now i see we are getting a zoo together with theses avatars you give us

TimBeal5678 9 June, 2012 @ 12:54 pm   482

WAHEY! Incredibly happy about this. After all, PS+ did need a bit of an overhaul in my opinion.

BattIeFieId2143 9 June, 2012 @ 11:22 pm   483

Great update for the ps store I’m getting ps+ just because of this!
My request for the games would be:Child of Eden,Dirt 3,Boarder Lands

If these are not possible I just hope that you guys will balance the games out, example: If three games rotate one would be a racing game, one would be a shooter and one a plat-former/fighting game just so it would be a variety for people to choose from.

THE_RING_PIRATE 10 June, 2012 @ 5:29 am   484

I am just loving this months content. good quality games is what i likes. now just keep it up no slacking..

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble purchasing PS+?

I keep getting the error ’80023102′ and I don’t know why.

I’m in UK btw, thanks :)

arashi_85 10 June, 2012 @ 12:09 pm   487

Am I the only person wondering where the Themes and Avatars are this month? I can’t seem to find them anywhere!

jakodexter 11 June, 2012 @ 12:49 am   488

Is it to much to ask for Dead Space, Resident Evil, or Beyond Good and Evil for the PS+ update next month.

And is there any word on discounts for Little Big Planet 2 Dlc ?

redragon325 11 June, 2012 @ 11:15 am   489

All these people complaing about losing games every month… That is NOT the case, once you download a game you get to keep it and everything else from ps+ until the end of your subscription! Stop asking the same question over again and read previous comments people!!

Bladerunner_DK 11 June, 2012 @ 2:17 pm   490

This has got to be the worst good news ever. NONE of these offers are available in EU. Can we expect the same offers here. Can we expect that US will have these great PS+ additions and EU gets…well, the usual stuff, nothing new here.

windsorblue01 11 June, 2012 @ 2:36 pm   491

I would like to see Hasbro for download too!

sasukeluffy 11 June, 2012 @ 4:51 pm   493

Yes! Really awesome news, thank you guys! I downloaded all of them (i already owned Lbp 2 and InF 2, but i putted them on sell – im making money with PS+! And i really enjoyed all the other games.
–I suggest: R&C All 4 One and Saints Row The Third. It would kick all complainers asses!

supersmith2500 11 June, 2012 @ 5:59 pm   494

Make these free on PS Plus and I’ll be proud:

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (SSFIV not required)
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Motorstorm RC (Both Vita and PS3 version)
Duke Nukem Forever
Shatter
Shank (Since Shank 2 came free last time)
Deathspank
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD
Super Puzzle Fighter II HD
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (or by seperate)
Oddworld: Munich’s Oddysee HD (if JAW releases this this year)

And I mean DANG I’ll never install all these 10 =O, you guys should create an external hard drive for PS3. Xbox had it in their earlier Xbox 360 models.

mojobrew 11 June, 2012 @ 8:06 pm   495

Delighted to be given 10 PS+ games and I don’t own a single one! Victory for stopping buying PSN games a while back! I can only assume Sony have decided that PS+ is a way of gaining console purchases and increasing existing customer retention because PS+ makes me paranoid about buying anything.

Having said that who needs to buy from PSN when you get a base of 10 then three new ones each month?!? PS+ has really moved into a new era here. I was never a fan in the early days but now I’m very pleased indeed with my subscription.

PS I love how even with all this amazing update offers you still get people complaining!

Mith1970 12 June, 2012 @ 10:32 am   496

So, now that the dust has settled, I looked again at this post. Am I seeing correctly that the expiration-dates of all games are pushed 1-2 weeks back, to the middle of the month? Why not have them expire on the first thursday of the month, like it was with the ‘old’ plus? This way, there will be only one new game at the start of June… Not that I mind, as I have too many games to play as it is :-)

@Bladerunner_DK 490: This offer actually IS for Europe…

OGSamir 13 June, 2012 @ 1:05 am   498

I would LOVE you guys if you even would put R&C All 4 One on the store, And as an PS2 Extra you should be able to choose between R&C 1,2 or 3. That would make my day.

OGSamir 13 June, 2012 @ 1:11 am   499

Also thanks for the Free Games Guys! But i’m not a fan of LBP 2, Outland, Chime, MotorStorm, and Renegade. Space Marine pleasures me a bit, While i already own a copy of Darksiders but now i can sell it, As for Infamous 2, just love that game! But for a reason my favorite is Oddworld, never played it on the PS2 but damnnn i’m enjoying that game.

DarkFourze 13 June, 2012 @ 1:20 am   500

Any football games to be added next month?

PES12 maybe?

Not touched my ps3 in since year it was released. Going to start using it purely because of PSN plus having all this content when xbox is the same subscription just to play, no freebies.

However as someone mentioned. Zombie apocalypse is 4player coop, a perfect game that US get and we dont?

Also please for the love of god dont waste spaces with shootem-ups please. We will all own a few of those already and more variety/unique kind of games would be great for plus titles.

(Just my 2 cents)

windsorblue01 14 June, 2012 @ 2:32 pm   502

why do so many people ask for just cause 2 when it has just been in a sale it would be better to ask for something that has not been in a sale so recently

Eronamanthius 14 June, 2012 @ 6:56 pm   503

Darn, out of all those, Oddworld would have been my top pick. Shame I can’t get it stateside.

Can I trade Tomb Raider for it? :-p

I thought Playstation Plus was great before (and I was one who never really went for minis or classics), but this is incredible! Truly astounding value!!!

warerare 15 June, 2012 @ 1:56 am   505

Just signed up to take advantage of this awesome deal. I would love to see Prototype go up as a free game, just took advantage of the 1 hour trial and loved it. I would also love to see Sonic Generations or Mortal Kombat as free titles.

Hi Ross please answer this for me I have been looking everywhere!
1. When will just cause 2 come to the uk psn plus, and will it be the ultimate edition or the normal game?
2. Is ‘the Rock’ DLC for motorstorm apocalypse included in the psn plus download or separate?
3. I can’t find any blu-ray content on psn plus uk store, where is it?
4. Once you have FULLY downloaded a game from psn plus, will it disappear when my subscription ends even though it is on my HDD?

Thanks!

fauxtronic 17 June, 2012 @ 9:08 pm   507

As a subscriber, I can answer some of those questions.

1. Sony will never tell you what games they are going to give away. Not more than a week or two in advance anyway. They tell us at the same time on this blog, right before we get them.

2. There is no DLC content included with Motorstorm Apocalypse. Even the storyline cut-scenes are missing from the digital version.

3. I don’t know.

4. If your subscription ends, your free games will still be installed but will no longer work. If you resubscribe, you can re-download and/or play them again.

chrisandsheva 17 June, 2012 @ 9:42 pm   508

@fauxtronic,
is that (no4) a defo..?.. only i heard that you had to re-subscribe within a certain time to be eligible to play all former downloaded content.. am not thinking of lapsing, been plus since day1 etc, but am sure i read you only had x amount of time to re-sub or you lose (some/all ?.) content. Also i ‘heard’ that your cloud saves are only ‘stored’ for 6 months, so they’d be gone if you waited too long to re-sub, hopefully this may now be different, but i would like concrete info just to be sure. Not in a rush to find out but would like to know sometime.

fauxtronic 17 June, 2012 @ 10:24 pm   509

According to many other commenters in this thread, they changed the rules with the (June) overhaul of Playstation Plus. You can apparently unsubscribe for as long as you want, but if you resubscribe, all the games you downloaded the last time you subscribed will become available again.

pb-live 17 June, 2012 @ 11:38 pm   510

@506- Nearly eveything listed in this update is Blu-ray content. It means games that were originally available on Blu-ray.

Skookie30 18 June, 2012 @ 9:24 am   511

“2. There is no DLC content included with Motorstorm Apocalypse. Even the storyline cut-scenes are missing from the digital version.”

seriously is that true well that sucks why is the reason for it.

who the hell can you follow the story without cutscenes this is a worrying trend is infamous 2 like that too if so plus members are NOT getting a good deal LBP2 been cut.

i notice my friends playing the free games it says on the ID presence infamous 2 (digital), anyhow can you imagine if FF13-2 was a free game (digital) but it cut out the cutscenes & that even cliffhanger ending.

ppl would rightly so be furious, so Ross what is the excuse this time, we get halfbaked version oh joy.

that is unlawful anyways, for shame.

fauxtronic 18 June, 2012 @ 10:58 am   512

I’m finding it hard to separate your questions from your statements, so forgive me if I mis-answer here. To my knowledge, the digital version of Infamous 2 has not been cut. I wasn’t aware LBP2 had been cut either. I’ve played both games in full since they became available via Playstation Plus this month and the storyline scenes were evident from beginning to end.

Motorstorm Apocalypse however, is definitely missing the cutscenes from Festival Mode (ie. the main storyline mode). There is no story in the digital version at all.

From what I understand, this isn’t because Motorstorm Apocalypse is being given to Playstation Plus users. This is the way the digital version has always been when sold at full price through the Playstation Store. I’m not sure why Sony would do this. I already avoid the Playstation Store because I’ve experienced disappointing customer service in the past. Now I know that digital versions of games might be missing content that WOULD BE available on the disc version, I’m even less likely to buy games through the Playstation Store.

fauxtronic 18 June, 2012 @ 11:35 am   513

By the way, I’ve been reflecting further on @chrisandsheva’s comment, and wonder if I’ve been remiss in trusting the word of commenters over Sony. It was @Bjarno86 who claimed you can now re-download previously downloaded comment if you resubscribe after letting your subscription lapse. They said it was mentioned on the forums. If anybody has a URL showing where Sony state this, I’d love to see it. Otherwise, I’m not sure forum discussion is an authoritative source. Thanks.

Hey guys.ive been with ps plus pretty much from the start and ive always thought it was brilliant and great value.but this months update was unreal.what an amazing list of games,.some real top titles in there,in the uk store i mean.im running out of hdd space fast, but thats a nice problem to have.
Regarding games id like to see on next months ps plus,i certainly DONT want to see battlefield 3 on there for free as i bought that the other day,and it would break me haha.
Would be great if we finally had broken sword on the store, what a classic, its about time really.someone needs to sort it out lol ;)
As for free games,id like fifa12 and mass effect 2.Just to be clear aswell,as long as i renew my ps plus subsricption before it runs out i can keep using any of the games ive downloaded through my ps plus. thanks

As Nr. 92 says:

” Quick question: Say you forget to subscribe again after a week or so, your PS Plus has expired and then resubscribe again the following day. Would that mean that the games downloaded from PS Plus during the course of the subscription would be deleted, or disabled on the HDD? Same question regards to the Download List.”

I have the same question. I had PS+ the first year (and a couple of months for free). Will the content I dl back then be available again when I renewal again now? Plus, when I would take it for a year and then take a PS+ break for lets say some months, then renew it again, will these games like Motorstorm Apocalypse and the rest be playable again or is it gone when there is a break in between the last PS+ subscription and the new one?

pb-live 25 June, 2012 @ 9:33 am   517

If you’ve downloaded them (or went to download them and have the little red sign next to them) then they’ll be available again when you re-subscribe.

It used to be only that you could re-subscribe in a short time and get everything back, but they’ve removed this restriction now and you should get everything back again if you sign up again.

Some people find that titles which are still on your hard drive do require downloading again just to reset the end date on them, but you should see the little red icon next to them and it won’t ask you for payment.

pb-live 25 June, 2012 @ 9:40 am   518

@513 – sure, here is the reply from James Thorpe on 25th June 2010 (with the link to his post beneath)

“Hi, sorry I have just been waiting for confirmation. Here is the answer – I can confirm that if you download the games each month then your subscription lapses and you re-new at a later date then the games on your HDD will be activated. Even if you have deleted the game from your PS3, you can go to the Store, find the game and re-downlod it again at no extra charge.
The word ‘may’ was used to cover any situation where the game owner requires the game to only be used for a specific period of time. However in general this is not the case and we will always let you know if this does occur.
Normally the games you are entitled to access will renew with the subscription. The Legal guys have to cover every instance ;-)”

Very nice updates. But I have one question and I’m sure alot of people have it…
If my subscription ends and I renew it, do I have to redownload the games or they work right away?

Please send me a message on ElkingMoeXB…
Thanks alot.
