‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 15 August 2012

SoundShapes_FeaturedImage1_PVWIMG

Play through a series of beautiful levels, where sounds and shapes seamlessly mesh together to create an unforgettable platforming experience. You can even create your own levels by building environments and choosing enemies and obstacles – and compose your own music at the same time.

Can you shape the perfect blend of sound and gameplay?

The great folks at monkeypawgames have once again provided. This time bringing the much asked for PSOne title, Alundra!

Alundra Image

Between the worlds of light and dark lies the world of dreams. A world where the rule of reason loosens its grip. A place where an insidious evil is stealing minds and blackening the hearts of those from the world of light.

We’ve also got a brand new demo of the excellent Dragon’s Dogma, where you can import your demo’s customised character to the full game.

Don’t forget the Summer Sale continues on with some great new additions so check that out here.

For our PS Plus consumers, Ross’ post will be up tomorrow so please look forward to that.

Hi Jawad
Last week I asked about remote play on vita and you said wait until Gamescom. Nothing was announced yesterday. Is there an announcement coming? Not to sound negative about the show, there were some great announcements (although COD vita didn’t impress), but I really want to hear about remote play.

Also will there be a PS+ update today?

    Jawad Ashraf 15 August, 2012 @ 2:38 pm

Sadly there isn’t anything to announce for remote play. You’ll have to wait some more for an official announcement.

There was supposed to be a new post but due to gamescom it’s been pushed to tomorrow.

Where is Counter Strike preorder ?

Do we get Counter Strike GO next week ?

Total silence from Valve and psn(Europe) blog is worrying :(

Please give us honest answer Yes/No

AlexPSN89 15 August, 2012 @ 1:34 pm   3

@ Jawad:

Hi there Jawz! I’m back once again with more points to discuss…

First things first: kudos for getting the PSOne classics to work on PSVita. Such a great potential getting wasted would have been too much of a pity. If you manage to do the same for PS2 classics, I’m gonna get even more interested in the platform (not saying that I’m not already, of course).

About last week’s question, yes, I know that I have to hold the PSP’s switch to actually turn it off. The problem is, when I do so, sometimes it goes in standby mode, and in other occasions it reboots itself instead. Why does it happen?

Finally, the usual question: what about the Spyro games? (If the games get released today, don’t mind this last question – I prepared it on the notepad before posting it as a comment for a blogpost that has yet to appear.) Are we getting closer?

    Jawad Ashraf 15 August, 2012 @ 2:40 pm

    Might be a hardware issue.

Closer…not exactly. Looking at another month+ for Spryo. There’s a couple of processes it must go through before release.

liamlangan 15 August, 2012 @ 1:35 pm   4

Not cool about the PS+ update, Ross said it would be today, rather dissappointed about this

    Fred Dutton 15 August, 2012 @ 2:00 pm

Very sorry for the delay with Plus post everyone. Gamescom has thrown everything out of whack this week. Normal service will resume from Monday, promise.

Wait, no PS+ update this week? I’ll console myself with the Sound Shapes discount. ;-)

Can you confirm the following games announced here and there (Gamescon, Sony websites, etc…) are coming in the near future on PS+: Retro/Grade, Red Dead Redemption, Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit, Machinarium, Double Dragon Neon, Knytt Underground, Big Sky Infinity?

And last question: Can we expect soon a post on this blog explaining how will work the “cross-buy” feature for retail games like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royal? Some people have already pre-ordered their games so I’m sure they’ll be interested to know.

Thanks in advance

I’ll be picking up Sound Shapes for sure.

A SUPERB PSOne classic, buy it everyone, buy it!!
Will be playing this on my vita on the 28th!

Now we only have Symphony of the night left and everyone will be completly pleased ;)

AsmodeanBT 15 August, 2012 @ 1:36 pm   8

Alundra..? How about the oft requested Suikoden games instead?

Any updates on Spyro?

Wait, the Plus post isn’t until tomorrow?

Is the new content going up today, at least?

MohdAKsnake 15 August, 2012 @ 1:37 pm   11

Ok, here comes the usual question:
Any updates for the Spyro PSone classics?

McMahon-Man 15 August, 2012 @ 1:37 pm   12

Any update on the Amazing Spider-Man DLC or when we can expect it?

Ross’ Update will follow 1 day after the new Plus content appears in the store? Makes sense. ;)

Ants_Pai 15 August, 2012 @ 1:37 pm   14

Only discounts for PS+ today? Oh well, still picking up Sound Shapes and Papo & Yo. They’ll work on Vita & PS3 right?

Gonna pick up SoundShapes and will try out Papo. Just one question when can we expect Dyad?

Carnivius_Prime 15 August, 2012 @ 1:37 pm   16

I don’t see the Uncharted micro-transaction stuff here. The US have it on their store as of last night. That’s all I was interest in this week.

Martingutten 15 August, 2012 @ 1:38 pm   17

Yo, sucky SCEE. Here is an IDEA. How about caring for us? Say to publishers “D-heads, we will NOT permit you to publish ANYTHING on PS3/PSP/PSV in Europe if you do not publish it in ALL our countries!” What would happen? We would all get the same content, and NO publisher would stop releasing their games here. You should also learn that you have an US branch on SCE, and they are 10 times better at their job. How about taking up the phone once in a while and work with them? “Hey, I hear you are getting a game called Dyad, looks cool. How about we work to get it our in Europe to at the same time? Oh, you don’t have french and german translators to put in a new warning screen in the beginning? No problem, we’ll take care of it, SINCE WE CARE ABOUT OUR CUSTOMRS”.
Just an idea… So, how about giving me work at SCEE, since you seem to lack a certain thing called common sense?

BTW, where is the PS+ update? isn’t it time soon to rotate the “instant game collection”?

xenokiller90 15 August, 2012 @ 1:38 pm   18

good update keep up the great work guys!

ReeceDevonport 15 August, 2012 @ 1:39 pm   19

I’m sure you said there was a PS+ update today.

mattyhew2100 15 August, 2012 @ 1:39 pm   20

Cheers for the update Jawad – looking forward to the Sleeping Dogs demo :D

When will we be getting the PS3 YouTube app?

ryryryan 15 August, 2012 @ 1:39 pm   22

RanmaTsubasa 15 August, 2012 @ 1:40 pm   29

hi Jawad were is the uncharted 3 DLC ? and no avatars today :/ only the sale for me i guess

XJaguar12X 15 August, 2012 @ 1:41 pm   30

Any Word On PS3 Youtube App? Had Me Excited For That. :(

Looking forward, would it be possible to have a ‘cross-buy’ section to your listing, instead of spearate listings for the PSN/Vita versions?
This should help reduce any questions regarding cross-buy titles.

Thanks

MA76_666 15 August, 2012 @ 1:42 pm   32

Hello Friends,

Jawad Happy Eid in advance :)

is Sleeping Dogs Full Game available or just demo?

RoboAddy 15 August, 2012 @ 1:42 pm   33

An excellent update as always Jawad, I’ll be buying Sound Shapes for sure!

But, as always, do you have any news on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSOne Classics?

NightRanma 15 August, 2012 @ 1:42 pm   34

OMG finally an update where there’s something decent, that Australia actually gets!

Definitely buying Sound Shapes, Alundra, and Urban Chaos. Might check out the Sleeping Dogs demo, too. I’ve already bought it though.

madmanwithabox12 15 August, 2012 @ 1:43 pm   44

Still no word on Eternity Clock? On Twitter they said it was coming soon, and this was maybe a week or two ago.

JordanBlack68 15 August, 2012 @ 1:43 pm   45

Can we get the YouTube App?

chicken_freak88 15 August, 2012 @ 1:43 pm   46

Hi Jawad, Cool update this week. Urban Chaos was one of my favorites as a child so will definately look at getting that!!

Quick question if possible – is there any chance that the PSN will introduce a system whereby people can ‘sell’ their unwanted digital copies for online store credit (at a reduced price). This would be great as I have a few games I have purchased that I didn’t really get on with and thought it may be nice to get a percentage of the funds back to spend on something else within the store? – Shouldn’t be more difficult than removing the ‘licence’ to play the game (much like with PSPlus games you cannot play if you are not a subscriber).

Thanks

Also, still patiently waiting for news on Kingdom Hearts BBS and Crisis Core as downloads

    Jawad Ashraf 15 August, 2012 @ 2:57 pm

Sadly Urban Chaos isn’t coming out this week as mentioned (it wasn’t supposed to be on the schedule in the first place…) It should hopefully drop next week instead.

No plans for selling back content as far as I know.

WELSH_-_LEGEND82 15 August, 2012 @ 1:44 pm   47

why no YouTube app for eu

Plus update tomorrow..? why, normal store updates are allways here today..

I3loodthirsty 15 August, 2012 @ 1:44 pm   49

so we are not getting the 2 ps+ games today then…..seams like the second lot of games we get each month since they changed it all are getting pushed further n further into the month,if thats the case id rather we get them all at the start so we dont get messed around.

Bealinator 15 August, 2012 @ 1:45 pm   50

Hello Jawad,

Firstly… I’d like to say that the Gamescom announcements were absolutely fantastic. The buy one get one free feature of certain games is excellent, and I’ll definitely be grabbing Sly 4 the day it comes out. Seriously, this adds a lot of value to gaming as a result.

Secondly, I’m tempted to take out a years subscription on top of my 90 day one. I was wondering if I were to buy the 12 month one at the discounted price next month, would my months ‘stack’?

Thirdly, I see Monkeypaw have managed to release yet another classic game. But my question is this: do you have any idea how close Tomba! is to release? Monkeypaw said “soon” (which I take as being more like Doctor Who Series 7 (trailer on the 1st of August, with a “coming soon” tag) than Agent (yep, since E3 2009!), but how soon will this be?

And finally, when PS1 compatibility is patched into the Vita would it be possible to put up a full list of compatible games? I realise it would be simple as to simply load up the Store on your Vita and see all the games that are playable, but I also realise that certain people would whinge about being “missold” PS1 compatibility if a certain title they buy isn’t covered.

    Jawad Ashraf 15 August, 2012 @ 2:58 pm

    It’ll stack, yes.

You’ll have to wait for them to mention anything.

Hopefully but may not happen. I’ll speak to someone about it.
