‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 5th September 2012

MetalGearSolidHDCollection

Get ready for some tactical espionage action: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, both remastered in HD, arrive in the store today. Relive Raiden’s first time in the limelight in MGS2 or experience Big Boss in MGS3 – my personal favourite.

Vita also sees some new content today with a brand new puzzle app Treasure Park – see our post from earlier today for more on that.

If you’re a PS Plus member you will receive Red Dead Redemption as the new Game of the Month. How’s that sound? Of course, you will also receive more titles in the middle of the month – see yesterday’s post for full details. Oh, and don’t forget, a 12 month Plus subscription is discounted by 25% until 19th September – there’s never been a better time to get involved.

As always, make sure to check the list below for which titles have new DLC this week.

We know many of you are awaiting word on Counter Strike: Global Offensive but unfortunately we currently have no new information to pass on.

Content may be added or removed, or move dates – please stay tuned to your weekly Store Update for the most up to date listings. Listed savings are approximate, based on SRP excluding Special Offer pricing and should be considered as a guide only.

@Jawad

Hi,

since you have schedule on all psn releases I have a question for You.
Now that more and more retail games are getting released simultaneously on psn are Resident Evil 6, Borderlands 2 and Cod:Black Ops 2 among them ?

I know that You probably don’t have info on Black Ops 2 yet. But Res6 and Borderlands 2 are almost here !!

The reason why I ask is because I prefer digital release.

Thanks

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:38 pm

We are trying to secure more digital releases where possible. They may not be day and date with the retail releases however.

I would say expect those in time though.

@ Jawad:

As last week nobody noticed my rhyme,
I try to do that once again this time.
But today I’ll just get straight to the core
in order to avoid leaving you bored.
As long as the last update was great,
there’s one thing that sadly is still late.
You know what I mean, it’s Spyro, indeed,
so when will it be anywhere to be seen?

Also kudos for your PS Classics sale,
a clear sign that, about old-school fans, you care.
Now all you need is to re-release the missing games,
for said fans to open their virtual wallets again.

Last but not least, could you ask SuperBot
if there’s new fighters to be added to the lot?
Namely Crash and Spyro, again,
important due to their glorious fame
of Playstation mascots coming back from the past
joining the battle, once more, with a blast.

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:51 pm

October for Spyro (yes, pushed back).

    I can’t announce anything related to All-Stars.

How are PS Vita only owners able to take advantage of the PS+ discount, or can we not since it’s not available through the Vita store…?

TheBigBoss0001 5 September, 2012 @ 2:20 pm   4

I have two questions:

1. Will there be more games added to the PS1 sale next week?

2. How’s progress on Crash Bash, will we finally get this game soon?

Thank you.

Oh btw. Monkeypaw Games wrote that we would get Tombi/Tomba today, where is it?

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:40 pm

    1. I’ll ask Andy for his plans.

    2. Haven’t heard anything new on it.

    3. (You snuck that in there) Please wait for Monkeypaw to announce something. It is coming though.

i thought monkeypaw said tomba was being released on the 5th

Thanks for the informative update regarding CS:GO…..oh wait!

Jacko_the_lad 5 September, 2012 @ 2:21 pm   7

Isn’t Machinarium out today?

also would it be possible to request incredible crisis and silent bomber for ps1 classics, theres a silent bomber avatar YUNO add game

So… no The Walking Dead?

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:42 pm

Not at the moment. It could be next week alas I don’t wish to get your hopes up.

Armored Kill shouldn’t be on that list……..

Just a quick question, where is the YouTube app that we were said to be having? The US have it but I check our store weekly and it ain’t there.

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:43 pm

I haven’t been given an update. An announcement is likely to be made before I can even say anything.

really no cs go. its been 2 weeks and no info at all.

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:45 pm

Sadly not. If had anything I could share I would. I know it’s a heavily demanded but I simply have no words to share. Please bear with us…

Connor_mufc_1985 5 September, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   13

No walking dead again?

I hate scee right now :(

The Walking Dead episode 3…? Some info at least, please?

Episode 4 will probably be released before we get it.

No CS:GO…. no Walking Dead Episode 3.

No news on either as well, that’s pretty terrible customer service.

Other than that, the updates are decent. Gonna get Zen Pinball 2 and update all my tables :)

Where is Tomba PSone Classic?

And Dyad?

SpideyWolvie 5 September, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   17

Any update on the Marvel vs Capcom 3 avatars?

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:48 pm

Capcom have other avatars to go through. MvC are really unlikely for us due to Marvel.

MrChilliBeer 5 September, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   18

Hi Jawad,

Are you able to give us any update on when we can expect to see the Walking Dead Episode 3? I belive we’re 2 weeks behind now?

Thanks

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:49 pm

A mentioned in a response above, I’m hoping next week but it’s not official.

turbogeek421 5 September, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   19

We’re getting Zen Pinball 2 for free…??

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:49 pm

The base game is Free. You will need to pay for new tables (which you can also trial).

GaiaScythe 5 September, 2012 @ 2:22 pm   20

Will Final Fantasy 3 come to PSN (PSP) ??

No peace walker for download on ps3?

Also jawad what’s the deal with the plus stores items not loading? Its been months and this still hasn’t been fixed an I’m unable to download the plus free content like themes and avatars because I can’t seem them! Who knows how such stuff I’ve missed because of these sections not loading

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:52 pm

We’re aware of it. There’s nothing I can physically do. It’s been noted to the higher up guys to fix and I’ve been informed they are currently working on it still.

AlexPSN89 5 September, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   22

@ Jawad (P.S.):

P.S.: You’re not supposed to come up with a rhyming answer, of course. Also, if you want to have my comment bottom-lined: what about Spyro, and can you ask SuperBot if they’ve contacted Activision to add Crash and/or Spyro to the roster? And kudos for the PS Classics sale.

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:53 pm

Funny enough the rhyme wasn’t originally there as post #2 so I scrolled up and see it magically show up. You squeezed your way in there.

theviper340 5 September, 2012 @ 2:23 pm   23

how much will lbp be in ps store in it release date for vita?

marcogang96 5 September, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   24

CS:GO…. P’ahahahahahahahahah

PFC_Hudson 5 September, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   25

With regards the PS3 and Vita versions of Metal Gear, will owners of both devices have to buy copies for PS3 and Vita or does Cross-Buy come into effect here?

Will buying the PS3 HD version of Sons of Liberty automatically mean I’d be able to download the Vita version for free?

Again, where is the walking dead, this is a disgrace the way you treat us over things like this

So… youve changed the part about Machinarium being available from 5th September? What’s going on there?

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:55 pm

It has been pushed back as a release date for this was not (and has not) been made as of yet. We are aiming for September but we’ll keep you posted.

Nice update this week, gonna grab some PSOne games and might try some of the other few new offerings.

Quick semi-related question: Why are my blog comments are always awaiting moderation automatically? Is that this way for every user or do I have some kind of bad record I’m unaware of?

Is Metal gear solid: Peace Walker also getting a hd release in the store at some point?

Matush_US 5 September, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   30

wow, all hell is going to break loose, no CS: GO, no Walking Dead Ep. 3

AWW :-( Still no ‘MGS:Peace Walker HD’ yet on PSN? Xbox LIVE(sorry for swearing) :D has got it(i think) :-/

[DELETED] there isnt no new information , you obviously know what the problem is , you just dont give a crap about your customers. To give them a legitimate response.

Bahamut_MW 5 September, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   33

Hey Jawad =)
Wasn’t Machinarium coming out today too?

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 2:57 pm

It was mentioned but unfortunately this has been delayed. We’ll keep you posted on this.

djidane2008 5 September, 2012 @ 2:24 pm   34

hello, and walking dead? still a week late too? is becoming really anything

Jawad could you tell the email or something for me to write about the a request for an option in a future PSVita Firmware? Thanks.

darksharkpt 5 September, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   36

You all should be Fired!
- No CS:GO in 3 Weeks after release..
- High Price Content..
- One day after all stores updated (PSN US and XBOX Live)
- Games that release 1/2 years ago, same price as release…
- PS Store organization is so bad, i never found what i want..
- And, you all MUST be Fired!

ll-FooFighter-ll 5 September, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   37

Finally Zen 2! My Vita will get some love with this.

Hi Jawad

Do you have any update on when we can expect Dyad to be released?

youdontknow123 5 September, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   39

Does this mean no The Walking Dead? Again? Ugh…

By the way I wanted to ask, is there any chance that we might get Klonoa: Door to Phantomile anytime soon for PSOne Classics? Since US got it in December and I really want to play this game. O:

No Walking Dead again!? Last time I ever buy a season pass from SCEE, this is ridiculous.

No CS:GO again? This is getting bad now. :(
Still, great update for PS+, going to download RDR soon as possible. :P

TheKillerSnowman 5 September, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   42

i wanna have the walking dead episode 3

Might pick up MGS3 for Vita! Was probably my favorite of the MGS series. Does it have that Ape Escape mini-game?

Anyway, prepare yourselves for all the CS:GO comments/spam.
Better yet, you should disable comments altogether.

Sweet. Some tekken tag 2 gear to grab…and looking forward to play the game. Done the prologe and was sooo sweet to play.

MohdAKsnake 5 September, 2012 @ 2:25 pm   45

Hi Jawad! I hope you had a delightful holiday and I hope you had a good break from the Spyro comments. Speaking of Spyro, is there any updates? ;)

Also Im having a problem with 4oD on PS3, when I try to watch an Inbetweeners episode directly from the episode list, no video appears but a video appears when I select the “Play now” option but not the episode I want. I havent tried today but it didnt work yesterday

Thanks

    Jawad Ashraf 5 September, 2012 @ 3:01 pm

    Looking at October now…

4oD isn’t my area of knowledge. I’ll try and let someone know.

Is peace walker also getting a release in the store?

moneill83 5 September, 2012 @ 2:26 pm   47

No Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

No Walking Dead: Episode 3.

No Machinarium.

No Dyad.

No Tomba.

No Dawnguard.

No Heathfire either.

No Crash Bash.

No YouTube app.

No resolution to the problem of downloading and playing certain PS One games on a PS Vita.

No free Resident Evil 4 avatars as was advertised for those Plus subscribers who bought the game in the first week of release, which was a YEAR ago now.

No Spyro.

No answer to all of the above.

No chance of ever receiving an answer to all of the above.

No point whatsoever.

I don’t even…

Signed:
your average PS3 user and SCEE customer.

I thought plus was getting machinarium as well today?

Will those that purchased the PSN version of Vita MGS HD collection be able to download the two games seperately for no extra cost? I’m trying to make room on my memory card for PSone classics but I’m still playing through MGS3! Would appreciate being able to download MGS3 seperately and remove MGS2 from my memory card.
