Hello PlayStation Blog! Today I’m happy to announce that the F1 2012 demo will be available on PlayStation Store from 12th September. Yep, that’s tomorrow!
The demo contains a taste of two awesome new F1 2012 features. First we have the start of the Young Driver Test, a real life event that can determine your F1 career (so don’t screw up!). We also have Season Challenge mode’s first race at Monza, let us know your fastest lap on that one! If you race like Perez did last weekend we’ll be impressed!
We’d like to quickly mention that the game’s toughest A.I difficulty does not feature in the demo. The Legend A.I option can be accessed in the Career and Quick Race modes, both available in the main game. Let us know how difficult you find Season Challenge on the Hard setting.
Of course, the demo is just a taste of what’s to come! F1 2012 offers a host of improvements over F1 2011, including fully localised weather, lap tutorials, season challenge, and the mighty Champions Mode! This mode sees you battle it out against the six world champions – Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher. Each challenge faces you off against one of the champions in a mid-race situation (finishing a wet race with dry tyres anyone?). Beat them all and become the ultimate F1 driver! The full game will be launching on 21st September.

Uhoh, so far I managed to escape Codemasters’ F1 games. A demo could be the final push make me buy it. Mean bastards!

Hey, any chance you guys at Codies could do an F1 game with stereoscopic 3D? Maybe get it patched in? All the 3D games i have/going to get/know its an F1 game that – for me, a huge F1 fan – would be EPIC in 3D!

you don’t need to add funds. just try and buy whatever you want and the store takes the money out of your account.

Season Challenge on the Hard setting was a bit too easy, (don’t mean to brag haha) Glad to hear that’s not the Legend mode and that there will be a more the challenging option in the full career. I was thinking this can’t be the Legend mode as I was too far in front. It’s just no fun and not very realistic when you can go from 5th-10th on a the start and be 4secs in front by the end of the 1st lap.
Love the way the car reacts to the road and Codemaster have done a great job of making it feel more real as they do with every years title but this feels like a much bigger step towards being more realistic. Can’t wait to try the full game next week!

Just played this and think I will be giving this a miss. Game modes aside, this doesn’t feel any different from the last incarnation and the cars feel too ‘light’, even when changing the settings.
This isn’t really any leap at all from 2010 or 11 and the graphics look dated. Everything looks square and rough round the edges. Not a polished game at all

probably be tomorrow now as notice they are doing maintenance on the playstation home just and probably not that bothered bout a demo since will be same department for both, easy seeing the country (as stated) with most gamers per square foot is uk and we are the last as usual, think they need to get there priorities sorted
