Nice :D Content galore. Good to see more full games making it to the store.

Ooh, might pick up the original Uncharted again at that price…

Ridiculous pricing..

Nice! Now we just need a list of day one digital releases like the US got so i know what BD games not to pre-order ;-)

Okay.. eternal shame on me (‘yeah, sure it’s for the neighbour girls’) But wasn’t Eyepet & Friends supposed to be part of this as well?

    Andy Stewart 26 September, 2012 @ 11:44 am

Indeed it is, you are correct. However Eyepet and Friends is nto available digitally, you will be able to get the disk Essentials version of this in retail stores.

I picked up the original Uncharted a couple of weeks ago for £14.99 on the PSN store and I’m loving. Working my way through on Hard now and tempted to play on Crushing again to get the Platinum. £9.99 is a bargain for this if you haven’t played it already.

How about Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Edition for the £9.99?

BEYOND!

Is this just a ploy to push up the prices of bargain basement games? Assassins creed 1+2 have both been available around the 5 pound point. Plus didn’t we already have platinum for this very reason? Seems pointless.

    Andy Stewart 26 September, 2012 @ 11:47 am

You are kind of correct about the Creed games except these were due to a promotional discount for a limited time, these are now permanent price drops.

Ridiculous pricing..

Can pick up most of theses for about £3 off ebay.

Download prices are far to high for OLD games…

Another “AMAZING” offer i`ll be passing on…

    Andy Stewart 26 September, 2012 @ 11:51 am

Sure you could probably buy these off ebay, second or third hand and probably scratched. Some might be in mint condition but far and few between. These are brand new copies, so anyone who does not want to risk purchasing second hand goods this is ideal for them. It might not be ideal for everyone but it will appeal to some.

and yet again another waisted effort put in to the store:S
almost every title in this list is cheaper or same price to buy in normal retail stores already!
The online Store would do a lot better to differentiate itself more from normal retail in a positive way instead of ridiculous pricing!
Honestly you cant be expecting to sell well with this

A reminder to everyone reading this: almost all of these games are from before the online pass era and can be picked up at various second hand sites/stores for less than half the prices mentioned here. Even normal retail stores will offer you a better or equal deal on these titles.

The PS store could’ve been soooo much better IMO

    Andy Stewart 26 September, 2012 @ 11:53 am

Maybe you should read comment 10 and understand other peoples rational about this campaign.

Its might not be everyone ‘cup of tea’ but some community members clearly like it.

Carnivius_Prime 26 September, 2012 @ 11:21 am   10

Digital versions of Uncharted and Modnation Racers for a tenner each. Been waiting for that to replace my discs of them. I just don’t use discs anymore (other than Uncharted 3). It’s just so much better having them all on the hard drive taking up no physical space and no need for disc swapping. Still waiting for Uncharted 3 itself to become a digital download and then my Blu Ray drive will probably just end up for DVDs/Blu Ray movies.

Hopefully Resistance Fall of Man and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction will be available soon. Great update nonetheless!

Sonic Generations! :D

Very nice indeed, made my day. (Well, not really, I mean yes, but I still have to see today’s PS Store update…)

I don’t own either an Xbox360 nor a PS3 (just a PSP as far as current PS platforms go), but as Sonic Generations was kind of a Killer App to me (again, not really, but sorta that), this is going to play a big part whenever I choose to get my hands on a console. And between the two I mentioned at the beginning of this comment, I think it’s gonna be a PS3 (Kingdom Hearts HD 1,5 ReMIX is also going to do the same trick, although I’m hoping for a Vita release of that, if only for the sake of having the first installment in portable form).

Huono_peleis 26 September, 2012 @ 11:25 am   13

20€ for Assassins Creed :D

That game is 5 years old and doesn’t even have trophy-support. Are games that old that expencive on retail anywhere in Europe? And many of those games have already been given away for free at some point…

You really should try harder.

Most of the games are overpriced. I’m not doubting their quality, but you can walk into stores and get these games much, much cheaper. They are great games, but too old for such a price tag!

Totally overpriced. You can buy original box copy for half price. Sony, thumb down for this trend of selling digital versions for much higher price than box versions.

wardragon989 26 September, 2012 @ 11:30 am   16

Assassin’s Creed great still being promoted without a trophy patch, just imagine if they had patched that game. Potentially more people could have bought it.

Carnivius_Prime 26 September, 2012 @ 11:30 am   17

@13 not if you want the digital versions like I do. I’ve no use for games on phsyical media anymore. Especially since I take my PS3 with me when I go stay at friends houses often and need it as portable as possible (which is the reason the new super slim PS3 interests me). Besides there are no game shops around where I live anyways and the unreliable and expensive public transport makes it a complete waste of time and money trying to get anywhere. Also I love not having to deal with actual game store staff most of whom I’ve had to deal with in the past knew nothing about what they were selling and often tried to push absolute garbage on me.

chrisandsheva 26 September, 2012 @ 11:35 am   18

I thought Great, when i spotted this, But then after reading the list and prices it was, oh well, just another day at sce, Seriously 15.99 for AC, that must be The worst, dearest price around for that, imo tedious game, it doesn’t even have trophy support,, Just in case theres any new gamers reading this, Do Not begin your AC ‘adventure’ with AC, as more than likely you’d bin it and then miss out on the epic series it became.
So, apart from the 1st uncharted, will give you that 1, what is meant to be cheaper, or even new to the store ?.. IF this is a taste of whats to come i would expect many more erm disgruntled comments, imo 1out of 10 (for DF), You Must try better, more erm, Realistic perhaps ?.

With these prices chances are you won’t sell well.
Lower the prices for full games on the PS Store, both for new and old titles, and your sales will go up.

Always better sell more for less than not sell at all.

Where is Uncharted 2?

Anyway, good AUD prices. I guess you don’t plan to rip off Aussies anymore.

Most of them games were the same price as before and at least put a pound difference between the Assassins creed games.

MaikelSteneker 26 September, 2012 @ 11:40 am   22

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is currently in the Store for 15 euros, so I hope the price listed here is an error. Speaking of which, I think the pricing strategy for the Prince of Persia games is really strange. Why is the 2008 Prince of Persia more expensive or as expensive as the 2010 one? It would be nice to see PoP 2008 at 15 or even 10 euros.

Ridiculous prices, as usual. Some games can be found at 5€ sealed here.

Surprised people are complaining at the prices, seem reasonable to me. Brand new and fully patched I think it is comparable with the high street and online retailers. If people want to pay £3 on ebay then fair enough it hardly makes this poor value.

I still have a massive issue with the brand new game prices though.

Also, will EU be getting the same as the US with these pre order new games thing with 10% discount for Ps Plus users?

Classic_Shooter 26 September, 2012 @ 11:43 am   25

Most of them I got free on plus, and the prices, I could walk into a game store today and get cheaper. But I am looking into MAG. Do people still play that game!

@18
I think the worst price for a game award is a toss up between Bejeweled 3…20quid or Prototype at 31.99 it’s probably dearer than Prototype 2.

@Carnivius_Prime, there are many reasons for why you don’t really want a digital version. Not sure if you are aware of all of them or not. One is that you can’t activate the game on more than two consoles. If your HDD breaks twice, which is likely when all you play from is your HDD, you no longer can access your games. Some time in the future when Sony might no longer offer the PS Store service for old games you can no longer access the games if your HDD breaks or if it’s full.

There are lots of reasons for why digital should be cheaper, and it has to do with the all the expenses of creating and selling physical copies of games. The fact that over 95% of the games sold in the PS Store and sold other places is cheaper other places is just insane.

@cosmic_uk
Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Edition, it’s just like the normal version of the game, except some of the FREE DLCs are on the “disc”.

Nice. I’ve been meaning to play Assassin’s Creed 2 for a while

EliteDave93 26 September, 2012 @ 11:49 am   29

Update the store already!

Quite a few of these titles have made their way through to PS+ so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few more of these added to the instant games collection in the future :)

Where is Heavenly Sword?

A lot of these games are already on the store plus can be bought BRAND NEW for less than half of the digital prices.

Assassins Creed is £8.64 from Amazon brand new. Plus that includes the price of the box, manual, transport of the game to your house etc.

This is a digital copy on a server with no physical box, manual or in need of any kind of transport.

How is this price justified?

@Carnivios prime.

Expensive unreliable transport? No game shops?
Where do you live? North Pole.

Gotta laugh at the Shop attendants trying to sell you rubbish.
Probably Physical media I got money back on that there trying to palm off on you. Lol.

QuietlyWrong 26 September, 2012 @ 12:00 pm   34

Will there be a separate blog for today’s new Sales? :)

@24
Prices are reasonable but could be perfect!
At today buying from a retailer, even online, is cheaper than on the PS Store and it should be the opposite since we don’t even get plastic case and manual.

Some of the prices are ok, others are overpriced. The first Assassins Creed springs to mind.

On the subject of second hand games which was brought up, never had any problem with any second hand games bought in shop and if the game doesn’t work, thats what your receipt is for…

Where digital games really need to change is the price for brand new or newer games because theres no way £50 to £60 is anything but laughable.

If digital distribution really wants to get off the ground then there needs in my opinion to be at least a £10 discount on high street prices. A mark up is just plain daft.

So what your saying is it’s for people new to gaming.
People who haven’t got a clue about game prices,so basically your trying to have them over?

HELLO DO YOU HAVE ANY NEWS ON CS:GO?

I’m HOPING THIS IS ONE OF THE NEW RELEASES ON THE STORE UPDATE TODAY.

ONLY 5 WEEKS LATE…

BIG_N_HAIRY1 26 September, 2012 @ 12:09 pm   39

may shell out for a few of these been looking at MAG for a while but worried if nobody is playing online it will be a waste of money any body now how i can find out

ASSASSINS CREED IS ALREADY £15.99 !!!!!! WHAT???

ASSASSINS CREED 2 IS £14.99 SO YOUR INCREASING THE PRICE!!!

@35

Just done a quick search on some of those games in the UK and most places don’t do, for example, Uncharted and Mod Nation Racers for less than a tenner, and often (if available at all brand new) £3 or £4 more.

And re the comment for people new to gaming, what a great back catalogue of games, i got my ps3 from day one and had to pay an awful lot more than these prices for the likes of Uncharted.

chrisandsheva 26 September, 2012 @ 12:12 pm   42

@ 26.
Prototype defo wins that award. 31.99, it’s such a strange price. haven’t seen Bejeeweled3 or tbh know what genre it is, but am guessing it can be bought for a fiver or so.

Was just thinking about the Drakes Fortune price, it kinda seems a little too good, well after what we now take for normal, regards Digital pricing, and i had a bad idea over it, This isn’t going to become a part of igc in the near future ?, i hope.. as that would be .. unfortunate, On the other hand though, seeing as no mention is made about Uncharted2, mayhaps sce are doing right by us and That will make it into igc ?.. am hoping so, But i guess so long as it isn’t my 1st thought, as that would be really sad, ie, sell as many as poss, Then give it away, probably to the same ppl who’d allready snapped it up at the decent price, .. But sce don’t do that type of stuff, do they.

CoolRichy008UK 26 September, 2012 @ 12:14 pm   43

hahahaha so stupid comment! Marvelous how people can be dumb.

Dear undervalued customer we are HAPPY to inform you that CS:GO is on the to do pile along with Auditorium,Dawngaurd and other games. Please wait patiently while hell freezes over and we like to think of you as part of the SCEE family.
And remember we always never listen to the community and we don’t value your feedback.
Yours sincerely
SCEE

Uncharted & Mod Nation Racers @ £9.99 are a decent price.

Please could you add the file sizes??

You need to add file sizes, as the only way to find out is to purchase the game. Should be second nature by now!

@ CoolRichy008UK

What are you on about?? Yet another deluded comment!

I’ve purchased many titles from ebay & haven’t had any problems. I don’t really see how you would think buying a game from Ebay would break your PS3 PMSL.

CoolRichy strikes again! ;)

chrisandsheva 26 September, 2012 @ 12:28 pm   49

@ post40.
Will agree with you regarding those two games you quoted, But you aren’t defending the others on this list just because of those, i hope.. Also apart from the obvious ie resale, lack of physical packaging arguments that are often used, i have seen lately most gamestores doing some awsome ‘buy 3 for £25 offers’, all new as well btw. I just wish the ppl who set these Digital prices would take these options in, before asking (mostly) silly prices.

@46
You’ll need about 40 GB hdd space to download n install them.Your internet provider will be pleased. 8)
