Escape Plan: Director’s Cut DLC Arrives On PSN

A

Escape Plan is wrapping up the Director’s Cut with new content for everyone tomorrow. Patch 1.04 also goes live with the new direct controls, and we’re adding new visual stimulation for you costume fans.

After working on the project for over a year we decided to bring back some of our favorite level designs, and needless to say, we love a challenge! This is why the Director’s Cut pack is filled with the most devious and evil tricks that Bakuki ever conceived. Including the Slap-a-ma-tron 9001, and a butt ton of mind-bending puzzles.

Continuing tradition, we have added four new costumes to the dressing room. Dress Lil and Laarg in a new spectrum of costumes such as Timeless and Lost Clause, with Halloweeners and I’m with Cupid unlocked by playing through the 21 Director’s Cut levels.

BC

We’ve also added a new poke control to allow the player to stop the selected character with the ease of a button, as well as adding the directional pad to start the character’s march. Using your feedback we’ve done our best to get the game to be yours as much as it is ours. Let us know what you think!

Everyone will get the Timeless and Lost Clause costumes with Patch 1.04, as well as the new controls. However, only Director’s Cut buyers will get access to the new levels, trophies and remaining costumes.

Escape Plan: Director’s Cut will be available in the PlayStation Store for €4.99/£3.99 with tomorrow’s update.

For those who haven’t experienced the touching adventure of Lil and Laarg, you can play through 16 of the zany levels of the original game by downloading the Escape Plan Demo currently available on the PS Store. Be sure to try it out and, as always, provide feedback in the comments below. We love hearing it!

Did you enjoy this?

Nice! I still don’t have Escape Plan for my Vita, and would love to buy it, especially seeing how it is supported by you guys. However, I’m hesitant to buy any Vita PSN games now, as I don’t know if it’s going to be part of the Vita IGC. Guess that’s the downside of PS Plus…
If Escape Plan is part of the IGC, I’m definitely going to check out this DLC too!

Cool ;)
Liked Escape Plan from the 1st minute funny and cool game.

Any chance for a plus discount on it?

Great news! Love this game, and more is always better! :)

Any chance we can get an update to address the HUGE size of Escape Plan? It is HUGE, and surely there is some developer magic to reduce the HUGE size in small small way?

I’ll have to put this back onto the Vita memory card soon.

Had to take it off due to it’s sheer size compared to other games, plan on returning soon though.

Any chance of a bundle that includes the game and all DLC?

There are some things beyond our control with the way Vita patches games on system. There might be a remaster in the future that could help reduce the size, but nothing is planned at this time.

Is this game only for Vita or also for PS3?

We would love to see Lil and Laarg on PS3, but the game may not feel as nice with a controller. It is definitely something we’d like to investigate further, but the gameplay has to come first.

If not.. why isn’t it available for PS3 ?!
I would love this!!

I got this at launch but couldn’t get comfortable with the touch controls…but direct controls are coming! Definitely gonna give this another try now, I loved everything about this game except the controls!

Let us know how you like the new patched controls, we’d love to hear your feedback.

Love this game, but as already mentioned: the updates are both big and a pain in the *ss to install when you’re running out of space on your memory card. I hope future updates will be incremental in size!

Seriously guys, don’t include the DLC data (levels, bonus costumes you gain access to when paid for) in with the patches please, we all want the fixes and tweaks, but not all of us have the free space, so we either have to delete other stuff or lose out on those fixes/tweaks, just because you would rather include all data in with the patches than separate the DLC data like most other games.

We will look into reducing the size with a potential remaster in the future, but for now we have to patch things according to how the firmware handles them. We apologize for any frustration caused, but it is out of our hands at this time.

I’ll be definitely getting this DLC.
Only played the original for a little bit, but I really loved the charm of it.
Got all the DLC so far and will be getting this one as well, if only to support you guys ;)

Thanks so much, we couldn’t support the game this much without such fantastic fans!

aw, no launch discount this time? Since it’s not cheap as chips, this one will have to wait until I actually get a PS Vita… xD

@12 Was thinking the same – why not make a one week offer / deal (or PS+ one) like it was with the previous paid DLC?

AbandonedTrolley 3 October, 2012 @ 11:35 am   14

I never got the £5 discount code from the Vita pre order registration form after applying for it, so never bothered picking up the game itself. Would be nice if Sony could have fixed that.

RE: 14 HEC007
Probably because those were REALLY cheap and surely no profit, which is fine for one, maybe two, but in the end totally unsustainable… they can’t go for so many months doing work but forfeiting their profits xD
