Hey Fred, hope you are/have enjoyed the Dark Souls dlc – I loved it.
Could you please give us an update regarding the ill-received singstar icon on the xmb. Its unwanted and unnecessary, and has obviously caused alot of ill feeling towards you guys, nina and Sony. Its not the fact its now free that is an issue, its how obviously blatant the forcefulness of the sale has been.
Surely a compromise could be reached about its placement/availability?
Posted on 29 October, 2012 at 10:38 am by Fred Dutton
I’m still grinding my way through to the DLC’s starting point! I was at the beginning og NG++ so it’s taking a while. Loving it though!
As for the SingStar issue – all the relevant teams and individuals are very aware of your response, and your feeedback is being taken seriously. If there’s a further update I’ll be sure to pass it on immediately.

Well another bad week for SCEE once again.
Also Fred can I ask you something, some games such like Joe Danger 1, Gotham City Imposters, Payday, Escape Plan, Touch my Katamari and few others cannot be purchased and aren’t available on PS3′s new store as they are should be. Can you get the Store team too look into them please? PSVita games on Vita’s Store work fine. Thanks.
Posted on 29 October, 2012 at 10:39 am by Fred Dutton
I’ll pass that on to the Store team for investigation.

Its time SCEE man up and put the sale prices back as they were. Even if its just for 24 hours, as long as they let us know it would be OK. Following their attempts to increase prices without us knowing, even though it was still advertised at the lower price, followed by their attempt to lie to us with claims it was never the lower price its time for SCEE to show some goodwill even if it means them taking the hit. This rubbish we have to put up with ever week is just pushing more and more people towards the competition.

SCEE should make an official statement about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and keep its customers informed. It’s really impossible that nobody at SCEE knows what the hell is happening with this game and why its taking so long; the fact that the game has been released on every platform and every continent (except Europe) makes the situation even more ridicolous.

So the prices did increase? I thought I was just imagining things, wait a minute isn’t that illegal? Sony advertised a price now refuse to honour it?
And for Fred, the Zombie Apocalypse DLC STILL hasn’t had its price altered :/
Completely terrible week for the store

Can’t wait for the next firmware update… Can I have the ability to play my music in the background on the XMB again? I don’t like having to now quit playback of a song to select another.
And please, please get rid of that Singstar icon.

That was a week, my tv turned from playstation themed masterpiece(nice thing to make a painting and a work of art out of your tv by choosin nice theme) to sing along with grandma thing, but aside from this, first update of a new store (damn good one with a lot of new toys – need to master those) not everyting went ok… but i remember my first minutes with PS3 and with God of War trying to find circle button on my brand new pad.
and last one, im keepin asking for that for some time:
Original XCOM games was released on Playstation 1 – YES its true.
Could we get some glimpse of hope for those turned to classic on PS3 and Vita? It was some time ago, and now its a time to bring back them as we can play new reborn xcom game

@Dark_Overlord I don’t think SCEEs actions are illegal but they are certainly immoral and thats the general impression they give to us now. One of complete disregard for their customers. We are nothing more that an annoyance we must deal with to get our money.

Btw, if I see a another bad week from Sony one more time. I’m not using my PS3 until SCEE GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER.
Also, R&C: QForce has just got a release date for US. So when is it coming out in Europe or are we gonna wait for months for it? I’m sorry Fred but these problems and glitches is REALLY getting on my nerves.

Not the greatest week in the world of SCEE this week.
Sale was pretty good, shame about the price mix up and lack of notice. Would be really helpful to have a notice when you guys edit posts, especially when it’s prices that are changed.
Also something to consider is some sort of Blog rules on conduct, things seem to be getting worse as regards insult throwing and such, it seems people are free to post what they like without fear of repercussions. I know people get frustrated (especially this week) but to be sworn at (not just me but others as well) is out of order,.
Last thing. Maybe set up a suggestions/complaints board, I know it would be difficult to moderate and such but it would give people somewhere to go when they have issues with things or ideas that they would like to be heard.
Have a nice weekend Fred, I suspect you’re glad it’s here.
Posted on 29 October, 2012 at 10:45 am by Fred Dutton
Sorry if you feel there has been some poor moderation recently. We do have a moderation team who work very hard to keep the level of conversation at polite levels. I’ll keep a closer eye on this in future – and yes, I like your idea about a poster guideline doc. I’ll look into getting something like that drawn up.

I got some questions.
1.Fred i asked this a few times already but i didn’t get a answer. Will Parappa the rapper 1 & 2 and Umjammer Lammy be added to PS1 & PS2 Classics???
2.When will there be any new R&C Qforce or Sly news soon?
3.Since the PS All-Stars beta is almost over did you get a chance to play it? If you did who was your favorite character in the beta. Personally my favorite characters were Parappa & Sly.

Fred, can we please have some more presence on the blog about issues, Not everyone has a twitter account so a lot of people don’t see updates from there.
Also a sort of stance on the whole XMB singstar debacle would be good, People’s comments to nina were pretty bad and some were beyond childish, but her reply’s were also very unprofessional, Even with the apology.

As above, Why don’t you (Fred) mention Any negative (for blog) bits of ‘our’ weekly round up ?, I know a bit about company policy and such, But do you know what, It doesn’t allways work out best.. i mean Everytime theres been a blog with ‘flooded’ comments, which up to now has meant bad (comments), the manager here just doesn’t mention it, skirts round it as above put it, i am allready feeling like a kid again, via silly icon in my face, but that (icon) compared to reading ‘your’ (every managers) version of ‘our’ weekly news, goings on, minus the REAL stuff, well, lets just say i am now getting an overwhelming urge to put my thumb into my mouth, for some reason. Please treat us with More respect. Or maybe that should be, please treat ‘yourselves’ with more (or some) respect.

@ Fred.
I got a couple of bogus (probobly) friend requests this week, the usual type, someones ‘spare’ user. with maybe lvl 1to4 on their profile cards etc, one was just empty, not a single trophy on it, Why they bother sending them i can’t say, but it brings me to stuff here, i mean i am using my psn id, it would be very easy to post ‘opinions’ on a spare one, but i choose not to, yet certain ppl are causing grief, or trying to and because they use a spare id, Well am sure you get what i am saying.. is there any plans to maybe introduce a similar system other sites use, either number of posts made, for ppl who want to stay anon, but are still genuine, or some other method. as it stands atm, ppl ‘could’ make 10 ‘users’ and take a whole blog post over. prob are tbh, ie supporting themselves, ‘ganging’ (lol) up on others, so on.
27
Posted on 27 October, 2012 at 10:52 pm by hayzink
@chrisandsheva
i have also had a few totally random friends requests from users who are either brand new to psn or made up spam accounts like you say.
its funny you should talk about this as i have seen a few accounts that blindly agree with other users even when there talking rubbish and the wording on lots of there posts seems to be the same so i think your on to something there

@chrisandsheva @hayzink
had the same issue too, however i just messaged the person, they then came straight back saying they saw me post on the blog???? so i resent them a blank message and they still replied saying about me sending a blank message so im guessing its not totally spam, no idea whats going on though, if unsure just block them.

Posted on 27 October, 2012 at 11:15 pm by chrisandsheva
@ SuGaR_rAy_RiDeR.
Yea i agree that some probobly are genuine, as after i asked who someone was etc they give same answer, ie just seen you on blog or similar. i know it’s nothing major, but it could be good to have a better idea of who is for real, or not.. thnx for reply.

just noticed if you look at the review scores for the top 3 game reviews at the side of the page on the official playstation mag there all turkeys that score under 5 out of 10 and the fourth review medal of honour limps home at a rather poor 6 out of 10.
thank god i have a backlog and i never went games shopping as i may have bought at least one of them on impulse (silent hill for vita).

Posted on 28 October, 2012 at 12:45 am by JamieIII
A good idea for something to add to the Recap post would be any follow up information from questions that people have asked. Most weeks Jawad or Fred will answer somebody by saying they’ll ask the relevant people and get back to them, which is fine, but rarely have I ever seen an answer unless that same person asks for a follow up in the next weeks comments. Maybe keep a log of those questions you say you’ll find out about and post the responses in here at the end of each week. Even if that response is that you have no further informetion, it will at least seem like it wasn’t forgotten.

@ Fred.
I have a Serious concern, or maybe (i Hope, sce does ?), let me explain, i found myself wanting to get Killzone-HD the other night, But was a few pounds short.. So i (stupidly) thought, Well just use a debit-card etc.. i did, got the game, Allthough i had to quit out of store to download, as others Have reported.. So next day i got a unusual ‘offer’ from m+s. for something or other, sorry Via a text etc.. Strange i thought, first time They’ve contacted me…then later on another marketing type text, i got about 5 different offers that day, All first time ones, all useless, basic cold calling kind of stuff.. now i Have been getting ppi is owed and i’m owed X thousands compensation (for accident i Haven’t had), which i’m sure lots of people get.. These ‘new’ ones are different.. So, Coincidence ?. 1 day after registering my card with store. Or do sce sell MY info ?. If Not then ‘someone’ within Your org maybe. I got Very upset earlier, as it now seems my number has been passed to a (bloodsuckers, imo) payday-loan company.. Now apart from that INSULT, i am not very happy at the ‘thought’ of why it has started. Seems being truthful. address. phone no’s etc, is a bad idea.

What the hell is going on with the PSN store? Yesterday I got plenty of errors while trying to buy items, and today it says my credit card isn’t valid (but I bought something with it 5 minutes before I tried on PSN, and 5 min after as well). NP-8119-9 is my current error, yesterday it was (56) and I think (3), as well as NP-2244-2, NP-8132-4.
Please fix this before the Halloween sale ends, as this is ridiculous. I have bought ACR, AC3 and AC3: Liberation elsewhere, but I still want to buy Dead Island GOTY before the Halloween sale ends. It’s such a tease at the moment, as all I need to fill my wallet with is 2.10 NOK… That is about a third of a dollar…

@ dogwalker4000
didn’t see ur post b4, anyway about Doom,a few reviewers aren’t happy with id because they haven’t seemed to have done very good job with the port..well so i read.. whereas the ppl who originally played it are saying thats exactly how they wanted it to look, for their replay/re-visit etc to this..in fact on a few sites a small war has started between those opposing views. i am interested in playing it, and for its price it isn’t/can’t be That bad a letdown.. esp if you haven’t had/played Rage, as buy Doom from a Gamestation, (maybe Game ?) there throwing that in free.. so it is ok value.. but i guess theres nothing wose than gettin letdown by a games bad graphics.. shudder to imagine it in 3d mode lol… When i first heard about this i thought all 3 games were going to be (normal) ps3 standard, And have their own trophies, but can’t see that being true now… guess i waited this long without it, so few more months and maybe pay a fiver (?) will do me.

Posted on 28 October, 2012 at 1:17 am by chrisandsheva
@ hfred123.
You should try the forums, theres a thread there that’ll tell you exactly what every error code means, i can remember someone saying that IF you keep getting errors trying to enter card details, it’s kinda like a pin, After 3or5 attempts it locks it out anyway, for 48 hours, i ‘think’, so best try and find out.. But if you can’t then i would say leave it for 2or3 days before you try again… IF still no luck then you could call customer services.. But depending on price of call you’d probably be better off buying the cheapest top-up card you can get where your at. the sales on till next week so i hope you find a fix Before it ends.

This is my first post and will be my last, the point being is that everyone makes mistakes, But I find that the way i’ve been treated by SCEE as complete utter garbage…
I find myself every Wednesday, wasting my time reading this blog and hoping for my 2 month old long wait to be over..
I have not been informed when, why or if CS:GO will ever be released, I have been kept in the blue, simply IGNORED and I now start to feel the “others” are in more capable hands, hands theses that inform the costumers about release dates, why and when…. not the “We have no information”
I will not be buying any more Sony related gaming hardware and nor will my children, and will not recommend it buy simply sharing my experience, until you regain my trust.
*Not angry, Just a sad costumer.

@hayzink 5 out of 10 is an alright score, it means the game is Average
6 out of 10 means the games good.
I don’t know what’s happened to review scores in the past few years but people have been grading only from 7+ with anything below meaning it’s not worth there time. Only when a game gets a 4 should you really avoid the title, with 5 you should weigh up your options.
Sorry if this post was a little ranty but it’s just how i feel games are being rated these days.

I bought Goldeneye for sale at £15 but when i went to play it the next day it was gone. I checked my bank account and no money had left even though the store confirmed my purchase. I wouldn’t care but the game went back up to £40!
I spoke to customersupport and they said they’ll get back to me in over a week! Anyone else have similar problems?
If they don’t give me back the game for sale price it would would be completely unacceptable

RCR better be out next Wednesday and also have a flawless week too. I mean seriously this is the worst month I ever had with PlayStation. 1 week delay for WD: Episode 4, 2 days late for DD: Neon for Plus Members, Store was buggy and glitchy, 1 week delay for MvC: Origins, 2 weeks delay and still going for RCR and now what’s worst. Everyone is upset with the SingStar icon in the games menu.
Seriously Fred I know it’s not your fault but SCEE is a total joke now. It’s problem after problem after problem after problem and it’s getting worse. Also I love the Vita but’s WAY poorly handled and so is the PS3 now. So let’s hope next week would be better shall we?

Just to let people know that Bioshock Infinite: Songbird Edition will not be available in Ireland.
GAME have exclusive rights to sell it and their policy of no delivery over 1kg will make sure Ireland will never see it. Since GAME no longer has a presence in Ireland we can’t go to the shop to order it.
I have complained already to GAME and the Bioshock Infinite facebook page and if more people do the same may be something will change.

I have downloaded the additional costumes on vita ok but they won’t download for my ps3 version. I have searched the store and they are not there, also there is only 1 file on my download list for them which works on vita but not ps3. Could you please get this fixed

Oh and I don’t mean the swap costumes, it’s the alternate costumes which are currently code only and cannot be purchased

I am hoping for a Plus discount on Okami HD this Wednesday. I doubt it but it would be excellent. I can’t wait to play it again.
