‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 7th November 2012

Looking forward to giving Dyad a spin. The store says it’s “Trial & Unlock”, but it still costs money to download it. Is that a mistake?

So clicking on Dyad in the Store returns a message that says ‘This content cannot be selected at this time’. It’s been like that since yesterday.

I say either take the icon down or have an explaination, it’s the equivalent of a retailer leaving a display case on the shelf and every time you bring it to the counter they say ‘sorry it’s not available’, then put it back on display.

Something like this wouldn’t normally annoy me, but given the nose dive the Store has taken in recent months, I feel like I should add another voice to the growing chorus of ‘sort it out’.

I’m asking once more. Where’s Devil May Cry HD Collection on PSN? I don’t see any picture/info about it on PSN. The update was supposed to be made yesterday. What’s the problem?

If Anyone can Download Abyssal forge with a Season Pass for Darksiders2, let me know how. Thanks guys.

Still unable to get the three pieces of Mugen Souls DLC that was supposed to go up, any news on why?

because ever since, and long before, there hasn’t be a single week where there wasn’t a screw up, usually several.

when do things start getting better, when amazon start a skiwear department just for hell?

download failures.
download speeds so slow, i can literally walk to my local games store and back quicker.
interminable install times, darksiders took an hour.
missing content week in, week out.
and apathetic staff.

is this acceptable to you Fred?
would you accept that kind of service from a company you shopped with?

Make sure when your installing, that you aren’t Downloading at the same time…the PS3 just can’t handle it and takes ages. So be sure to pause everything before you Install.

If you did that already, then the only expression I can use is (o_O) lol

and once again, the staff fail and it falls to the community to fix your problems.

where’s the staff response to the Cubixx issue?

that’s right there isn’t one.

thankfully the community know how to do your job far better than you do and they relayed the information on how to get the full version.

so thanks for nothing scee staff.

with Darksiders, that was all i had to download at the time, so that wasn’t the problem.

everything seems to take longer to install these days.

i dread to think how long the R&C game will take.
it already took all night to download.

i’ll probably have to leave the ps3 on all day while i’m out.

if they use the same idiotic download then install method for the ps4, i’ll probably swear off downloads altogether, unless they’re free of course.

I have a question! Why are we paying full price for digital copies of games? I am bringing this up because it seems a little unfair.

With digital copies there is no cost to make and ship a disc to retailers, saving money to the publisher which would occur in the current retail market.

How can Sony and other publishes justified the full price cost of a digital game when it has restrictions place upon it (I.E The limited number of consoles it can be downloaded too)?

It seems a little unfair Sony and should be addressed.

why does everyone cry about ps plus! i think the games we get are fantastic, don’t understand why people moan about it! we are getting a service that you don’t get on xbox, we get free themes, avatars discounts on games, i got fan axxess for 6 pounds for the new wwe 13 which i think is great! saved literally 50% on all DLC for that now,

and crysis looks great! so does ratchet and clank never had them so its good to see games that are coming out that arent as mainstream as COD.

at least sony try and give us great services like this! a lot more caring than microsoft

Morning all, Store still acting buggy and glitchy I see? Had to get the unlock key via Purchase once downloaded Cubixx HD and I’m downloading Crysis 2 right now. In speaking of major video games I’m only getting them retail only and only digital if free with Plus.

Good god the Store needs a good fix and so is the staff team due to too many technical problems and it happens all the time now.

Hi Jawad. There’s still an issue with the Cubixx HD trial. Even the main ‘Game Page’ only downloads the 6KB unlock. It does show 163.1MB in the info at the top of the page, but it doesn’t actually download the trial.

It’s the same if you find the game through the search option or the ‘PS3 Games’ or ‘PS3 Demos’ sections. Only the unlock downloads.

I’ve found a workaround for myself because I downloaded the trial last year so it was in my downloads list, but others who haven’t downloaded it already won’t be able to find it.

Hi, I want to try Dyad before I buy.

I notice it shows as being a “trial and unlock” but I don’t see the trial.

Why is there no trial for this “trial and unlock” game? It feels a bit unfair. One could be tempted to believe the trial option has been purposefully removed from our choice so that we have to buy it.

Please tell me it’s not so.

Finally back to the Blog after a technical fault, Btw R&C: All 4 One is still not shown in the IGC menu on Plus where it should be. Any chance you can look into it?

I’d really like to get the DLC for Mugen Souls but I am still unable to find out why I can’t get the three new pieces of DLC…

I have also noticed other pieces of DLC are missing such as the Atelier Totori and Meruru music packs and so forth…

The store needs to revert back to it’s old form for ease of use and user friendliness, it may not look as good but at least it worked.

GAME -> LATEST -> Dyad is there as T&U. What do you get or does it just give you the unlock key? It should however give both the trial and the key.

Can’t buy Dyad. I can see it, click on it, but I just get the message “this content cannot be selected at this time.”

Please could we have an update on the darksiders 2 season pass issue, there are many people who have paid for this content only to find they cannot use it and we have had no meaningful response from SCEE so far that I have been able to find, the publishers indicated they were working on it with you guys and expected it to be finished yesterday but still nothing, this is not really an acceptable level of service seeing as I believe the issue came to light around a week ago and has already been resolved by SCEA. I look forward to your timely and informative response,

I’ve been waiting for Dyad for ages, and now it’s not available in AU/NZ? [CENSORED]?! Sort your stuff out, constantly giving us the 3rd world treatment is not winning any fans down under.

Yeah I see DYAD, it says Trial and Unlock, I go into it and it’s a game, with a pricetag that I can eother add or not add to my basket.

When added, it wants to charge me.

In a nutshell, I’m struggling to find the TRIAL element, I can only buy the full game (which is the unlocked trial, the trial of which I cannot find standalone).

Am I missing something here?

I fully understand that the whole PSN Store business and its updates is a huge task that requires hard work and cooperation.

I want to ask why Sports Champions 2 (seeable in the Store since Day 1) is not available to purchase. Also, I have a technical problem with Remote Play on my Vita, I have already asked in the blog a couple of times with no replies and I don’t know where to ask.

Maybe everyone would be better off if you didn’t announce your updates at all. Games would simply pop up from time to time. Leaving consumers in the dark is probably better than constantly showing them the ineptitude of each weekly update. The surprise of finding a game available is a lot better than being able to download a game announced several days before after waiting for a mysterious malfunction to be resolved.

I’m having a problem though, concerning Cubixx HD. When I try to download it, I can only download the 6KBs unlock file and I can’t seem to find the trial anywhere. Tried in the Demos section, but still it downloads the unlock file.
So, please, any suggestions?

I see still no fix for the season pass holders of Darksiders 2 on getting the Abyssal Forge for the uk. people have already paid for this DLC and it’s not fair to us have to keep waiting without an update on what going on with it. so please can someone give an update on to when I can get the DLC that I paid for please.

@Supersmith2500 — you may have already done this but if not, just do a search for Ratchet and Clank on the store and you will be able to download the game that way

Mistakes happen. The number of mistakes that are happening each week, however, is truly shocking.

It seems Jawad and Fred spend most of their time responding with “Looking into that issue now” or “I’ve let the appropriate team know.”

They must hate Wednesdays; each week brining a new torrent of things they have to spend time scrambling to fix/look into rather than actually doing their jobs supporting the community.

You have my pity, guys.

If a anticipated game fails your QA – write this on the blog!

Dyad failed, but you never mentioned it, therefore everyone thinks it’s an SCEE that’s causing the delay.

2:

Write an exhaustive article about QA job in Europe, which involves translating games/stores to 7 languages, testing, ratings, different classifications etc and why it takes longer time here in Europe than in USA.

“At the moment only the Unlock Key for Cubixx HD is shown first however, you can get the trial within the Unlock by clicking “Game Page”. This should work for most other Trial/Unlock type content, too.”

either you missed the point of my comment entirely when you replied or maybe the trial was replaced with the unlock key but then you never put the trial back up.

I though the new store was supposed to add stability, faster store and faster download. None of those has happened.

You keep saying the store will be faster and improved, well when is that happening, because right now it’s way to messy :-/

Why is there a HUGE add for PSN+ in the PSN+ section?
if customer is PSN+ sub = DO NOT SHOW ADD. … how about that.

Why is the default “show content for x days” not set to 7 in the the latest category, so people can easily see what’s really new per default.

And speaking of latest DLC, why is it sorted by DLC name and not game name?

Come on Sony, these things are SO simple. I’m not sure who you tested the store on, but it’s baffling that they did not pick up such simple things.

I’ve still got the vikings attack issue where I have the PS Vita version avaliable but not the PS3 version (which is the one I want but I cocked up ;-;). Pwease help/advise.

This has probably been said a couple hundreds times so I’ll just add to the list.
Holy cow the new store layout is horrid. Trying to find the thing you want is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Everything is just crammed together and the sorting system doesn’t help at all. Not only that but it’s slow as well. At least the search system works somewhat. Except when the DLC isn’t in the games folder in which case you’re screwed.
Dunno why the people in charge of it decided to take the perfect fast and well organised store and swap it out for this jumbled mess.
Can we pretty please have the old store back?

Little something I want to point out, Assassin’s Creed II & Brotherhood are marked as free for Plus members and I don’t see any info on that. Does it suppose to happen or not or is it a another error?
