Hi everyone! This is Chris Reese, Co-Director of Bend Studio, and I am excited to announce Uncharted Fight for Fortune, an original title coming to PlayStation Store exclusively for PS Vita in early December (pricing TBC).
Uncharted Fight for Fortune is an action-adventure turn-based card game featuring the heroes and villains from the Uncharted universe. Take a look at a video of the game in action below to give you an idea of how combat works in the game.
So you’re probably wondering, how exactly does Fight For Fortune work? I’ll explain. The core gameplay involves creating a team of Faction cards featuring heroes, villains and mercenaries from the Uncharted universe, and using that team to defeat your opponent while defending yourself from their attacks.
Each Faction card can be equipped with powerful Resource and valuable Fortune cards, which enhance their stats and give them special abilities. Once you’ve selected and equipped a card, it’s time to head into battle!
During combat, attacks either reduce the health of opposing Faction cards or the health of your opponent. Defeating an opposing Faction card removes it from play, while reducing the health of your Opponent to zero wins you the game.
The rich lore that surrounds the Uncharted universe gave us the opportunity to create Uncharted: Golden Abyss, complete with lush, artefact-filled environments. With over 300 treasures to be found, we wanted to find a way to allow our fans to delve deeper into the artefact collections and mysteries of the Uncharted universe.
Along with the release of Uncharted Fight for Fortune, we will also release a new patch for Uncharted: Golden Abyss that will power up the artefacts that you’ve collected for immediate use within Fight for Fortune. Using the artefacts found within Golden Abyss, you can go to battle with other players as well as AI opponents. The game can also be played independently of Golden Abyss, so owning the PS Vita title is not required.
Bend Studio Co-Director John Garvin and I have led the charge on Uncharted Fight for Fortune since the launch of Uncharted: Golden Abyss to take the Uncharted experience even further. In addition to our close collaboration with Naughty Dog, we are also pleased to introduce One Loop Games, a team of talented industry veterans who worked closely with us to chart new ground in the Uncharted universe.
There will be much more to talk about as we quickly approach the launch date so keep your PS Vita handy and get ready to go fortune hunting!

@declan__watson: Sorry for any rude comments but pls understand that’s how desperate the Vita owners are.
Sony, It doesn’t work when you make games just for business, but we need some good, beautiful games..not something rushed and incomplete. I personally would love to see games like Syberia, Dreamfall, LIMBO etc on VITA.

Gotta love the irony in seeing people moan about people moaning. Apparently you can only post your opinion here if it’s positive – if it’s up to a part of the community atleast..

Wouldn’t it be wiser to spend time on a Golden Abyss patch, to make sure that any enemy you kill in a specific level drops the remaining Black Market goods that we seek so desperately? We spend hours on the synching with “near” and farming certain checkpoints, but to no avail. I loved the game, but being “denied” a Platinum trophy because of the extra Black Market sets is ridiculous!

@ Stonesthrow
The subtlety which you may have missed is that I was criticising (to find fault in something) the culture of moaning (a typically trivial complaint)that blog users have developed, almost as a fashion.
It’s now the done thing to come on here with an incredulously narrow view, automatically hate everything because Sony are pathetic and mindlessly complain about everything without a thought for how it might suit other people or benefit the PS ecosystem in general.

People are moaning about this as there a short supply of upcoming great games at the moment and youve got a big dev making a simple card game. when many Vita owners bought the console as a PS3 portable. (to play games they couldnt play on a smartphone)
Plus the fact Sony has dozens of Indie Devs making games like this for Playstation Mobile and PS Mini’s means they could of game them the task of making this.
And to the person saying I am a Nintendo and Microsoft fanboy I most definitely aint as I have never owned any of their console nor plan to thanks :p

I like playing the Uncharted games but a card game? I’m not into card games. Please Naughty Dog, PLEASE tell me you are working on Uncharted 4 or getting the DLC packs to download for free for a limited time only offer for Uncharted 3 as I have downloaded the DLC for Uncharted 2 on the free limited time offer a couple of months ago.

@60 I wasn’t talking about you in particular, so nothing personal or anything. I’m just saying that it feels more offtopic and irrelevant to read about people complaining about the complaints. The people that complain are complaining about something ontopic, and their voices should be heard just as loud as the ones that praise. Everyone has their own opinion and criticism can be constructive too. When I read about someone with a very different opinion than mine, I just try to respect that and not reply to it because it will just end up in a useless discussion anyway. But ofcourse, like you say, there’s people hating just for the sake of hating – this is the internet afterall – but I try to read over that :p

Wow. I saw the name and thought “Hey! A new Uncharted game! Cool! Vita only! An video! Oh, this should be so amazin…uh? A card game? Seriously?” . Meh, this game will get so much negative reviews! It just killed 23% of hope I had to see a good vita game. But as it is still in a development state, I’ll still. E waiting to something cool. I already saw some good Vita titles. Dont ruin Vita experience.
Plus, I bet soon I’ll see: InFAMOUS 3: Cole New Move! Vita Exclusive! …Chess game /:( . Or Call of duty: 4 in line!
