PlayStation Mobile: Bullion Blitz

Screenshot_02

Hi, PlayStation Blog readers! Today we’d like to announce the first fruits of our collaboration with Sony XDev – Puzziball and Bullion Blitz. We’re really proud of them both and hope you guys will give them a go, and with any luck enjoy playing them!

The first of the two is Bullion Blitz, available to download today. This was a game born out of the idea that we wanted to take the simplest interaction possible – tapping the screen – and make something compelling out of it. “Digital bubble wrap”, in effect – but with enough depth behind it to make it fun to play with for hours rather than minutes.

One of the big advantages of PlayStation Mobile was that it allowed us to try ideas quickly and really focus on finding a way to deliver that fun feeling that we wanted. After several attempts we found something that both felt nice and which we could build a deeper game experience with – and that we felt could live up to the high quality we associate with the PlayStation platform.

What we came up with was a bank vault filled with “ingots” that “pop” into a shower of coins when you touch them. Adding to that a mechanism for ingots to combine when they land next to each other, thereby increasing their size and value, we reached something that we felt was fun and rewarding to play.

You can download Bullion Blitz and play the Score Attack mode – where the objective is to make the best use of an infinite supply of ingots to meet ever-increasing cash targets – completely free of charge!

If you enjoy that, then we hope you’ll consider purchasing one (or both!) of the two extra content packs that provide access to Quest Mode and Puzzle Mode, priced at £0.79/€0.99 each.

The former is an exciting trip through the world’s vaults trying to fulfil varied objectives such as “make a ring of solid diamond” or “empty the vault without any gold ever touching the floor”, whilst the latter is a truly brain-bending series of challenges where you must carefully plan how to wring every last cent from a limited set of ingots. For the savvy gamer, there’s a special double-pack price of £0.99/€1.29 if you buy both together!

We’ll let you know more about our other game, Puzziball, next week. In the meantime we hope you’ll give Bullion Blitz a try – it is free, after all!

Thanks to you all, from everyone at Heavy Spectrum and Sony XDev.

Did you enjoy this?

I wish there were more Playstation mobile games that were free like this, although what I wouldnt mind is the option of adding in adverts to unlock the whole game for free. like you see in android and iphones free games.

Hello, I guess playstation mobile will be released in other countries, maybe in the near future. In a blog post yesterday someone said they said that it will be released in other countries soon.

This PSM is a joke. How can it be SOOOO HARD to relese this shiet for all countries at the same time?
And if you cant, dont release for any country until you can release to all AT THE SAME TIME!”!#!

As a sign of my frustration with the store and blog staff, And anger at the way we are treated and scammed I will be boycotting the store and convincing others to do the same until you show us the respect we deserve as your paying customers.
Examples being,
– Blog staff ignoring important or useful questions.
– Replying to the same questions, sometimes on the same page.
– Inability to provide us with information (TWD, CS:GO)
– Promoting content, then on release saying its delayed.
– Promoting deals that don’t work and don’t fix (Dead Island).
– Releasing Content, then announce a discount a week later (WWE13).
– 95% of the PS2 games are garbage, release good games.
– Charging ridiculous amounts for digital games.
– Charging more than the US Store, Content should be equally priced.
– Forced to have a Singstar icon on the XMB.
– Feel free to add more
- SINGSTAR
- SINGSTAR
- AND AGAIN SINGSTAR!!!!

@darkvanvan

This is a problem with the Vita system update and/or the new PSM update. It seems to affect all PSM games, not just this one.

If you power off your device fully then restart, the problem seems to go away.

Hope that helps.

@sellkidz4chips
I understand you want other countries to have playstation mobile but they are working on it you could’ve just asked instead of barging in and saying psm is a joke and everything and then spamming the blog and saying your going to boycott the store I have seen several individuals like you who come in and say about this frustration with the store and blog staff it’s just not on its rude and disrespectful. Like I said before I understand you would like psm in other countries but they are working on it just be patient any way not trying to cause an argument. Have a nice day. @declan__watson

It is a joke? They have a EU blog, and releases stuff that only a couple of countries can use, thats not right.
They never answer peoples questions like “when are more countries going to get PSM” so offcourse people get frustrated?
If they have time to update the blog all the time (most being rubbish stuff) they should also have time to answer peoples questions, otherwise they can just take away the commentform.

Props on releasing the first free-to-play PSM game, Heavy Spectrum! And the unlock prices for the two additional modes are very nicely priced.

It’s a fun game! Gets pretty tricky from the 4th level. =)

im not interested in PSM until we get trophy support, there are better free games on android marketplace.

trophy support then we can talk about buying games.

infernalmonkey1 22 November, 2012 @ 11:36 am   14

You seriously won’t play a video game without trophies? Wow.
