Already have Journey…
Please, make a discount on The Unfinihed Swan on its own.
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 10:18 am by Chris Howe
Hi all,
I have approached the store operations team to see if it is possible to split them up but it might not be possible from a technical standpoint at this stage but I will keep you posted.

Yes that’s quite unfortunate, was eagerly anticipating the Unfinished Swan deal and now you just make a bundle with Journey. I already own Journey since day 1, so I’ll just buy nothing instead of a discounted Unfinished Swan.

I already have journey! so this deal suuuucks!
Can’t you sell them separate at a discounted price? no point in buying a bundle with a game i have already.
Tbh i would buy it if i could gift the copy of journey to someone but alas such an option doesn’t exist

A separate deal on Journey would also be nice. Provided it’s possible. Also, I’d like to ask random Internet people to stop complaining, if the deal’s not for you then skip it.

Major letdown since I was expecting ONLY a sale on Unfinished Swan to purchase it. I already own Journey like I believe most PS3 owners since it’s PSN’s best seller. What kind of deal is this? Please get one for The Unfinished Swan ONLY!!!

Definitely the best deal so far, so well done on getting this one.
Great for people who haven’t played either yet, but feel a bit sorry for those who already own one or the other, which is quite likely given the popularity of Journey in particular. Hopefully they can separate the bundle to give you guys a good deal too. Perhaps keep the bundle at £9.99/£8.99 PS+, and have them both on sale individually at £5.99/£4.99 PS+ or something.

“You’ll be waiting for a long time to see Journey on a sale”.
- Another Sony lie busted!
But more seriously, an excellent deal for those who refuse to buy anything at full price.

Fantastic! Will purchase this bundle tonight
@ Chris
It would have been an idea to offer them separately at a decent price but the bundle, slightly cheaper than buying them both individually.
Would have kept all sides happy.
Great deal for me though!

Thanks for trying!
But how is there technical issues with discounting the separate titles?
They’re already on the store so all you need to do is make the new price go live…..not much of a task surely?

I understand how amazing a deal this is however I do feel mislead. When you revealed the 12 days of Christmas promotion images there was no mention of journey. I had desired both of these games since there releases but I decided to wait for a sale. As journey was not shown to be a part of this sale I took the plunge and purchased it just 2 days ago for full price 9.99 even though I am a playstation plus customer.
PROOF: http://tinypic.com/r/2ut6qe1/6
Now I find out that two days later both the games I wanted are available for only £8.99. I hope you can sort some deal for users who are in a similar situation.
I just feel mislead as I bought journey two days ago based on the fact it was not going to be in this sale.

Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:05 am by Catkiller1
@ laticspieman
How can you be mislead when it was never mentioned what content you would receive? Yes it was an image of a swan & obviously we all thought Unfinished Swan would be the title but as it was an image wrapped up depicting a present, then you & everyone else wasn’t to know, that’s why these images are hidden.
If SONY did refund you somehow, then it would be a good-will gesture, as they don’t really have to. It was supposed to be a bit of fun with unwrapping these “presents” so unfortunately I don’t think they can do anything!
Hopefully the Store Team will discount the titles individually, then you & others will feel less let down.
Unfortunate but tough luck!
116
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:13 am by Dewington
“Unfortunate but tough luck” sounds like what should be the stock reply to most of these complaints. Anyone would think half of these people had never seen a sale before – by its very nature, it’s something that used to cost more suddenly costing less. If everyone who’d ever bought anything at its original price took the hump when it went on sale, the entire WORLD would be in a constant state of feeling duped.
Don’t get me wrong – as someone who also bought Journey, I’m also hoping they swing something where Unfinished Swan can be discounted on its own. But if they can’t, then too bad! The sense of entitlement on display here is staggering.
117
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:17 am by laticspieman
@catkiller1
I was by no means requesting a refund (although one would be very nice :p ) I was simply requesting for a discounted version of the titles seperately.

Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:24 am by Alan2112
With more titles to be added to the festive sale i don’t really understand why anyone would of bought something during the week that wasn’t on sale.
119
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:26 am by TheNudgeMan
Can I just say, the sense of entitlement on this blog is shocking! I can see why people would be disappointed with not being able to get these titles separately, and to be honest it’s Sony’s own fault.
If they didn’t have those wrapped present things indicating what deals were on the horizon, there would not be half as many disgruntled customers out there.
I personally don’t own either, and if I had a choice I would just get Journey at at a discounted price, and shun The Unfinished Swan altogether, but all in all i’m happy with this deal.
Guys, as harsh as it sounds, Sony are in fact trying to run a business here. The amount of guff that appears on here at times makes it seem more like a playschool. If HMV or the like had a sale on, say, The Star Wars Trilogy, but the only one you needed was Return of The Jedi, you (hopefully) wouldn’t go in and start berating the staff about it, would you?
This a fantastic deal for many people out there, not so great for others, but you can’t win ‘em all!
Sorry for the rant…

I’d love to get the Unfinished Swan/Journey-bundle but my console is so full already that the US is just way too big for it atm

Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:30 am by Jamesyp00
Sorry but anybody who uses the word entitlement and isn’t being ironic about it automatically has there entire argument null and void.
122
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:33 am by TheNudgeMan
@Dewington:
Sorry, I have just read your post, and I should have read it before posting, as now it looks like I have basically plagiarised everything that you said, which wasn’t the case at all!
Needless to say I agree with everything you say!
123
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:46 am by Dewington
@TheNudgeMan Heh, no worries!
@Jamesyp00 Care to back that up with anything resembling a real argument? Just because people bandy the word ‘entitlement’ around doesn’t make it any less accurate in this case.
124
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:49 am by Catkiller1
@ The NudgeMan
You chose a bad comparison for this deal!
“If HMV or the like had a sale on, say, The Star Wars Trilogy, but the only one you needed was Return of The Jedi, you (hopefully) wouldn’t go in and start berating the staff about it, would you?”
With the Star Wars Trilogy you know what to expect & you wouldn’t berate staff anyway, as it’s a Trilogy so why would you bother if you only wanted one of those titles?? With this deal it was an image of a swan & gave the impression that Unfinished Swan would be the discounted title, which isn’t the case!
It doesn’t bother me but your statement did, as the comparison makes no sense!
I could understand if it was an image of Jak & Daxter & only Jak & Daxter 2 was discounted, as everyone would expect the Trilogy to be within the Deal!
Just saying

Any idea what time the festive sale updates are going up? I see the ones that didn’t make it last week are now live.
Whens the blog going up with the new titles? Impatient!!!

Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 11:52 am by Catkiller1
Either way, it’s a great deal for me as I don’t own any of these titles.
I’m hoping Retro City Rampage is finally released today & if so, time to top up my wallet!

While (as a Journey owner) I am a little disappointed at bundling of these two games together, I appreciate that others who own neither will benefit nicely from this deal.
That said, I don’t seem to be able to find Unfinished Swan available on the Store for individual download at all! Any one else have the same issue? Apologies if it has been highlighted already.
(Note: I am using the web store. Not able to check on my PS3).

I was willing to pay for an Unfinished Swan deal, but considering I ( and so many others ) have Journey, this is bad.
Off topic, is there any way of changing your psn name? I get insults and complaints galore

any update on what titles that have not already been listed last week are being added to the festive sale today?
139
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 12:50 pm by Izorpo
In agreement with so many others, had been waiting for The Unfinished Swan (as I bought Journey on release). This was incredibly shortsighted to bundle The Unfinished Swan with the biggest selling game on psn. The Unfinished Swan was the only game I was interested in with the 12 deals of xmas (I purchased Tokyo Jungle on release)
Honestly if there is anything I have learned from this is that I won’t be buying any more games on release. I will only ever buy a game when it goes on sale. This is my new years resolution for 2013.
What a way to exclude the vast majority of people on psn.

Oh:/
I thought that “Unfinished Swain” would have a great price drop like Tokyo jungle.I have 11 euros on my PSN wallet and i wanted to get the “Unfinished Swain”(thought5-6euros) & LBP2 Cross-Controller DLC(5 euros).
I hope that you will split them because i already have the beautiful “Journey”!
It is like there is no deal for me like this :/

This deal is very tempting. If Metro Last Light isn’t being sold on PSN today at a mental price, I’ll fork out for this

Gutter as I would buy UNfinished if it was on sale.
Hope the deal gets split?

I’m glad I held out on buying Journey, great price for 2 sweet games.

Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 1:28 pm by tycho2
I may have to snag this, but will hold out till I see what else goes up today
And to anyone complaining about “false advertising” or “entitlement”, an image of an unwrapped swan with no concrete info doesn’t constitute advertisement, so basing your expectation on it was only ever going to lead to disappointment. As for “entitelment”, the only obligation Sony as a company has is to it’s shareholders. That may seem harsh to some people, and I’m no huge fan of SCEE or the way they handle the PSN store, but that how the real world works I’m afraid!
148
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 1:33 pm by Golwar
@Chris
That you try to please all is a welcome move, but I must certainly question why you and your team didn’t manage to expect exactly this criticism already in advance?
As previously commented, I understand the frustration of anyone who already ownes one of those games.
If both games should separately receive a 50% discount now, it would annoy me on the other hand, as I wanted just a Journey sale.
Often enough I get the impression as if you guys never before experienced such sales and events before. Did nobody of you ever shop on Steam, Amazon etc.? Because that would be the only explanation if you are really surprised by this result.
Well, at least we got one reply which is rare enough. Considering all technical issues with the store being either offline, plus discounts missing, mostly unattractive deals, lack of Vita sales, the delay of a large part of last weeks offers and the general lack of communication, I’d rate SCEE’s Christmas sale with an F.
Only this deal and Tokyo Jungle prevented a G or U.
If I add the PSP Lego Batman “replacement” and missing Sleeping Dogs to this affair, you’d certainly receive an U at least for the German market.
So please, IMPROVE!
149
Posted on 19 December, 2012 at 1:34 pm by Golwar
Geez, once more I have not the slightest idea what for my comment is in moderation. Bravo SCEE!

Disappointing. Was all set to buy The Unfinished Swan. Bundling it with a game a lot of people already have makes no sense. No sale here either. You should seriously put some thought into these offers and anticipate what the community’s reaction will be. This is a no-brainer. I’m surprised this offer even got green-lit considering how counter-productive it is.
Split the deal. Make it a 13th day deal if you have to. Don’t be hindered by bad judgement. Learn from your mistakes.
