Hi Fred
I was reading your reply to comment number 71 and it has given me an idea which I thought I should share with you which could maybe help with some improvements.
Have yas ever thought about maybe hiring some volunteering workers (or at least 1) for 2013?
They can learn some new things from yas, get experience, etc. In return you will have someone that can report things to you, reply to people that you (and other staff) cant reply too. They can also send e-mail, do phone calls, etc whatever needs done really.
It sounds like a good idea to me so it leaves you more time to get more work done, concentrate on the more important things and there would be more happy people round here when they get more replies. I’m sure your sick of seeing people complain all the time about feeling ignored and all that but this could be a solution. Have a volunteering person to do most of the replies for you.
It’s just an idea and as long as there’s an idea, it’s worth trying out
lol
Anyway have a great Christmas
Posted on 21 December, 2012 at 3:14 pm by Fred Dutton
Heh, sounds like a phenomenal idea to me
Seriously though, aside from various legal issues around doing something like that, I’m not a big fan of ‘volunteering’, beyond worthwhile charity work or short-term work experience placements. If someone is doing a job, they deserve to get paid, right?
But yes, if we do ever have an opening along these lines, we’ll be sure to advertise it here!

@artopand:
Actually it was supposed to be free for Australia and Germany since MK Vita is banned in those countries so yeah it’s now longer free for rest of Europe now.

before my new years resolution about buying new games on release – I did buy Munch’s Oddyesse. All was great and I was enjoying the title until the point where Munch takes control of a robot (the control listing was wrong (not using both sticks but using R1 to fire) I overlooked this issue until I came to the part where Abe makes his first possession – and guess what – HE CAN’T. I’ve tried every combination (including numerous times one from info board) of button presses and he won’t possess – I can’t advance in the game. Please fix this.
secondly in regards to vita titles are we getting Earth Defence Force 2017 and Sumioni? Both are getting digital release or have had release in the US.

@AshishSahoo
The Mayans never lied as the Mayans never said the world was going to end some idiot contrived that and the Mexican government made hand over fist promoting it for tourism.
What it means (death of the 5th sun) is we have entered a new astrological age – welcome to the Age of Aquarius and good riddance to the Age of Pisces.
As descendants of the Mayans themselves have said (yes they still exist and the Mayan language is still alive) that we are most fortunate to witness this shift as it only happens every few thousand years.
but if you don’t want to believe the Mayans then I have a hole in my back garden and I can cover you up in it for a 1000 quid

I would REALLY like to know how you can justify giving AUS+GER PS+ suscribers Lego Batman (PSP). I am aware that MK is not available in those countries, but seriously, you couldn’t do better than a game that is over 4 YEARS OLD AND FROM AN OLDER PLATFORM! When I first saw mentions of us receiving Lego Batman I thought we would be getting the Lego Batman game that is on the Vita. But you chose this instead. I mean, surely you could’ve found a title for the Vita, or even a more recent PSP title.
Now onto the Jan PS+ content with MK (PS3) being replaced by Gotham City Imposters. Going from a full game that can be played both on and offline to a PSN game that is purely online. I have heard that the community for this is pretty dead now as well(on a few gaming forums I frequent) so really we are getting something that we may not even be able to play. Looks like it’s too late to change the situation with Lego Batman but can you atleast look at providing a replacement for MK (PS3) that can be played offline.

@Izorpo:
You mean the Dead River floor texture glitch. I send an e-mail to JAW about the issue and they said they are going to release a patch which fixes it next year.
115
Posted on 21 December, 2012 at 4:04 pm by Izorpo
@supersmith
just posting this on the forums but here is the issue
I bought this game and everything was fine until the first time Much took control of a robot. The controls stated use Left and Right stick. They weren’t Left stick moved but R1 was the attack. I overlooked this issue but then…
When Abe is first able to possess another creature the controls listed state (L2 and R2 to chant). That is correct he does chant but he won’t create the orb to possess. 5 full minutes of chanting didn’t help nor did trying numerous different button combinations help. As a result I can’t progress in the game.
I personally haven’t had any texture glitch but the area I’m talking about is when Abe and Munch first join together

There is no Oddworld Munch’s Oddysee demo on the Portuguese Store. Since what you pay for in an unlock key, it is pretty much useless without the demo.
No answer from the Blog, no answer from Twitter. Tried the customer support e-mail:
“Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:
Portugal_Scee_Info@exch.spe.sony.com
The recipient’s e-mail address was not found in the recipient’s e-mail system. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you.”
Really? I know the phone support works, but not only is it expensive, they usually know less than the people calling.

Overall, I am disappointed in the festive sale, as far as I can recall from the scale of last year’s sale, there were far more games on sale and even that was before the PS Vita was released.
However, I am happy about the price reductions on Crazy Taxi and Wrecked: Revenge Revisited, which I will both be purchasing.
Will there be anymore games added to this sale and when will the PS Vita New Year sale begin? I am just asking through curiosity and because I really thought that there would have been some PS Vita games and DLC in the festive sale and I believe that it will calm some people who are disappointed in the sale.

i think there’s a problem with the Instant Game Collection latest update.
we’re getting only Knytt Underground for PS3 and the non-free PSP version of LEGO Batman.
Mortal Kombat is NOT banned here in Italy, just FYI.

@ Fred & Chris
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City (Not available in Germany)
Was €39.99/£29.99/AU$49.95 Now €19.99/£15.99/AU$24.95
Additional 10% off for Plus subscribers
Why did it jump back to €35.99,this including the plus discount on the Belgian store?
Thought of getting it maybe after xmas, but not with that price…
Same thing happened with NFS Most Wanted in the 12 deals sale, first there was an additional discount, and after 12hours or so, there wasn’t anymore…
You lost a few sales there, and you will lose some sales again with this one.

Once again, Sony have failed to put free PS+ titles in the PS+ category, meaning the many who were seduced into a subscription but don’t read your blog* probably don’t even know that Knytt Underground (PS3 & Vita) or Mortal Kombat (Vita) are available at a 100% discount. If anybody wants those titles, feel free to use the incredibly sluggish search feature of the new PS Store and find them that way.
* Incidentally I don’t read your blog anymore. I get all my PS+ news Reddit because it means I don’t need to filter through all the useless chaff first. I sought out this post in order to comment because I’m absolutely sick of it happening. Should I put a complaint in writing and send it to Sony HQ in the hope that a manager gets to see it and stops this happening so regularly?

In the original post it says that Resident Evil operation raccoon city is reduced to €19.99 but in the store it says its €39.99. I assume this is a mistake?

The festive sale reads the discounts will end on the 16th January’. Does this mean there won’t be another major sale before the 16th January. With comments by other psn users about a New year sale, will this sale be larger then the current festive sale?. I was disappointed that myself and others had recommend some games to hopefully be added to the festive sale in the initial festive sale blog, when its clear what we had suggested wouldn’t even have been considered at all. Hoping future sales from 2013 onwards will not keep listing the same discounted titles over and over again from prior sales, that we saw through 2012.
Another question, when is the eu (more specifically Australian) region due for it’s next batch of ‘price drops’ games? I noticed games are now only dropped in price in groups every so often on the store. I also noticed Resident Evil 6 is half the price it used to be at $49 on our aus psn store, but this didn’t display under price drops and is not on any current sale.

@121
What are you talking about? Knytt and Mortal Kombat were added to Plus section early this afternoon. They’re right there.
Also, while I sympathise with the people living in countries with strict censorship laws, I was happy to snap up Lego Batman when it was accidentally offered for free in the UK. What a lovely Christmas present.
135
Posted on 21 December, 2012 at 7:34 pm by MafiaCub
Yeah, same here… half the games are missing. I went on to buy 4 things that supposedly went live today. None are there.
Now you’ll all go home for Christmas… and just like every year for the last 5 years, you’ll have ballsed something up at Christmas, and do nothing about it til you come back on January 3rd and then say “Oh well, they’re available now for one more week” ignoring the fact they aren’t there for X-mas, which is balls when I was buying 4 presents.
Get it sorted.

Erm anyone, isn’t operation raccoon city supposed to be £15? it’s only showing up at £26 for me, I know it’s an average game but i wouldn’t mind going for that price.

@Alan2112:
Wait, you got to Dead River and don’t have any problems with the texture floor issue? Any chance for proof and how did you not get that problem. =Z

Anyone else seeing ORC for £26? I wouldn’t mind going for it at £15 since i know it’s an ‘alright’ game.

I’ll second the complaints about regional pricing – Hitman is £16.99 with the PS+ discount which is just under NZ$34 on current exchange rate, yet in our store it is just over NZ$50. I would have bought it in a heartbeat at NZ$34 (just as I did with Sleeping Dogs earlier, especially as it came with some DLC included), but at NZ$50 it’s not really a good deal.
How is it that I could buy a physical copy from the UK, have it shipped across the globe and still pay less than downloading it from the PS Store?
“Difficult business realites” = the developers want to continue price-gouging other regions and Sony can’t stop them, am I right?

@Izorpo I deleted my save and started again,it seems to be working fine now.
@supersmith2500 i don’t think i had gotten as far as Dead River due to my glitch preventing me from proceeding any farther,was meerly stating that i hadn’t seen any texture issues thus far.

Epic store update! You have to search for Knytt Underground because they didn’t add it to the store correctly. How incompetent are SCEE?

@Alan2112
I just started over and it seems to be fine now so deleting the save isn’t necessary but obviously starting again is

I wish SCEE would implement ITIL.
It’s free (at least 2.0), it’s by the UK government (yes they did something right) and it makes your work easier.
I get the complaining. A lot of things other companies get right (already for a long time) Sony doesn’t get at all and because of that we the customers geta less of an experiance.
For the futere I will support Sony if they keep the exclusives up, but I move on to the next best thing and wait a few years to pick up a PS4 and some exclusives. Thats the only thing you can do if you don’t like what they are offering and that’s what I’m going to do.

I’d like it more if Sony finally admits that Vita sucks. That’s why they don’t support it.
They are obviously act like that.
Why care about sales, when there is just a dozen of decent games. You can buy them all full-priced anyway. Just to justify purchase of Vita for example. Vita costs more than PS3, and get nothing for a year since release. Little Big Planet is awesome… but… games, you know… support.
Yeap, I do own Vita. And do not own PS3 (I didn’t know Vita is some sort of addon for PS3, not a real handheld with apps and, you know, games). So I can’t see if Sony really care about it’s customers. Maybe guys with PS3 is all happy, but I’m kinda disappointed
