VidZone update: Hold on to your face, it’s the bass edition!

It’s January, but we fail to see why this means the party should stop. Well, okay, maybe a couple of days off to detox. With that in mind, we suggest the proven (as in ‘not proven in any way’) deep-cleansing properties of deep, savage basslines provided by our Maximum Bass Zone, enabling you to detox and party at the same time! Just in case you weren’t sure, then let us tell you that we also have an exclusive bassline therapy that you can’t get anywhere else in the form of Neosignal’s remix of Noisia’s Stigma.

Anyway my little bass junkies, over to Candice for the finer details of this week’s update.

I’ve been waiting for the next post for VidZone so I can ask you something. This is my first comment based on this type of post.

Just wanted to say that I only started using VidZone again a couple days ago after a few months. I can remember when I used to use it a lot and never had any problems with it but now there is far too many advertisements. I only get a max of 2 or 3 songs then have to wait for the advertisements to finish before I can listen to another 2 or 3 songs. The worse part is that the same advertisements comes on at least 3 or 4 times in a row. Sometimes even throws in like an extra 1 but of something else.

I can remember when I used VidZone before and around midnight there was only at least 1 advertisement. Even after 1am there’s never any. (Those was the great times)

Is there anything you can do to shorten them or at least allow us to skip them? Watching and waiting for the same advertisement repeating themselves so many times gets annoying and makes me lose interest in even using VidZone

The amount of ads – and the repetitiveness of them (the same one is often played twice) – has totally put me off Vidzone unfortunately. It’s a great app but the frequency of ads definitely needs to be cranked down.

    Hi Dose_uk

We know the ads can be annoying and we have had an issue with the same ad playing multiple times in the same ad break which is fixed now. Ads are what keeps the service free but we try to keep them as varied and spread as we can. We will be working with our advertisers to make the user experience as good as possible as without you guys we have no service!

When Poland? Please :(

Thanks for the reply, Ben. Good to hear the repeating ad problem is fixed :) And yeh, I appreciate the ads have to be there, it’s just that when you boot up, play a song and then 3 ads are played straight after this it can be frustrating. Otherwise the app is cool, and the UI is very slick.

Why is my comment still awaiting moderation? Is it only the 1st comment that awaits moderation? Aw well no harm done. It was basically the same as what Dose_uk said only longer. lol. But nice to hear the problem is fixed and thanks for that. Will be enjoying my music the night :D

You said: “Don’t forget, we have a big announcement coming very soon” in a blog post 13 Dec. When will it be announced?

    Ben Creasey 11 January, 2013 @ 10:24 am

    Hi Flinders

You are right, we did say that, and we aren’t lying, we do have something to announce but it has taken a little longer than we had hoped to get everything ready. Don’t worry though, not long to go now :)

Still hoping for Breed 77 to appear on VidZone. For any hard rock/metal fans, Breed 77′s website has a link to Facebook to download their new single free. It includes their cover of Alice Cooper’s Poison as a B-side. Enjoy.

My one big problem with vidzone is that all the music seems to be double the volume of everything else on my ps3. so loud it distorts all the music.. is that the video files you use or the app itself increasing the volume? it just doesn’t sound right.. (it’s not an issue of the music being too loud for my ears, just too loud in DB.. they are “clipping” (Hope you understand the term)
Can that be fixed?

    Ben Creasey 11 January, 2013 @ 10:27 am

    Hi stargateheaven

A trick you might want to try here if you are having issues with distorted sound is to go to settings and turn the “dynamic normaliser” off.

If you are still having issues then email ps-probems@vidzone.tv

    Hope this helps

i use vita utube to see music nowh
= faster + more videos/music i like :) no advertising ;)
