WTH?! The blog entry from a few days ago didn’t say anything about Sumioni being limited to only a few countries. That’s some grade-A clueless/misleading marketing! Europe isn’t limited to the UK.
Why is it so hard to put games on the store? The game is in English, we understand English in Scandinavia. EVERY SINGLE RETAIL GAME IN SCANDINAVIA IS IN ENGLISH!
HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO PUBLISH GAMES HERE? AAAARRRGGGHHHH…. the futility, the bureaucracy, the incompetence!

@ Jawad to respons to post 133
We now have R18 ratings, meaning no games will be refused into our country now. Started the 1st Jan 2013. So rating excuse will now have to be changed.
Also, did you find out about RCR in AUS / NZ ?
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 4:41 pm by Jawad Ashraf
Not just yet.
It’s still a different ratings board, so if a publisher decides against it then…yes, it still becomes a reason/excuse.

Jet Set Radio is broken on the Vita. Just continually pauses once you’re in a game. It’s unplayable.

Cheers,
KEEP ON PLAYING

I guess, i mean QLD has not implemented the R18 yet, but SYD has it and so do the other states / territories. Just saying with upcoming games, i do not see the Rating excuse to no longer be valid… Not saying from you guys, i mean from Publishers. They use to say, oh no we can’t release it there, i won’t get accepted… Not anymore!

@ROBERTWARNE S
I thought it would have been cheaper to import from Japan to Australia – the cheapest I saw Sumioni was on ebay for nearly £19 plus postage plus customs and the “extra” £8 Royal Mail likes to tack on to anything over £15 where customs occurs.
With globalisation, you would think there would be a global classification process. It’s so last millennium the way game publishers operate on region by region basis. It would be easy enough to release English only games which circumvents translation costs as most people in PAL territories would accept that as they already know English (meaning they would rather have the game than quibble over lack of Polish, Dutch or the myriad of Scandinavian languages that aren’t generally catered to).
Actually it all sounds like profiteering to me by both game companies and respective governments by insisting on specific classifications for each country

@ 161 – Funny you should mention that. Publishers think that the biggest selling console here in AUS is 360. Well it isn’t. It is PS3! They must think we are a mini America. The only reason America buy that crap is due to a branded American company name.
Makes me wonder, if SEGA still was in this console war, i wonder what today’s consoles would be like. That would make 4 consoles battling it out to be the best. (PS, XBOX, WiiU, SEGA). We will never know!

From some google-fu, it seems that the developer didn’t bother to get RCR rated for Australia / New Zealand. No game rating, no release on the PS3. (If the Vita version is released for Australia / New Zealand, it’s via a loophole)
That said, if it’s true that the developer couldn’t be bothered to pay the money and spend the time to get the game rated for Australia and New Zealand, I’m not going to bother spending the money to buy the game, or the time to play the game on any platform.

@ 165 – Amen brother, why support some one that won’t support you. Given i think it was only one dude that made the game, still, he could not be bothered to even try to submit is what frustrates me, he talked about the process took to long. Yeah it did, the process of releasing it to EU was like 3 – 4 months, he would have had the rating by then. It does not cost that much to submit for a rating. He would have made it back in Sales. Lazy dev i guess!

hello
I wanted to know if for Vita will ever be implemented support for PDF files and applications for dropbox or google drive.
In addition I wanted to ask if are working AAA games, besides Soul Sacrifice, because until now have been made available games similar to tablet games,
hardcore gamers want great games suitable for the ps-vita hardware, no small games from mobile phone.
thanks

Hey Jawad,
Don’t want to bug you constantly but I cant understand the absence of orgarhythm and sumioni from Indian store. We don’t have a censor board, so Eu ratings (pegi) are followed here. So I cant possibly think of a reason for this. So I hope you can give a response explaining this. Will this happen in the future too?
Cheers.

@ Store Team.
Can anyone say IF (or when) we will be getting a Dead Space3 demo ?.. i noticed a article about it being on xbox soon, They (m$) haven’t nabbed exclusive access to it, i hope. it’s out in few weeks and looking at my downloaded list other day, i noticed we got DS2 demo about 6to8 Weeks Before It released. but can’t remember if that was a plus earlier access deal.
Also i am a bit disappointed to see these heads ups ‘seem’ to be returning to the 3pm (UK) time, i remember Fred saying the earlier time was part of general blog improvements, which obviously made much sense, alas it ‘seems’ we are returning to the, elvis has left the building, time, ie when someone tells you the game isn’t there, just the unlock key, or similar, you all usually clock off before ensuring a fix. hopefully this is maybe a exception ?.

Please wait for an announcement regarding possibilities of a demo.

@Jawad,
Just a small idea for the blog: If there is a blog entry for a game, such as RCR, and it’s known that the game isn’t going to be released in certain territories, could the blog entry please mention the fact?
(or if it’s only going to be released on PS Vita, and everyone else gets PS Vita and PS3 version)

Jawad, as you decided to skip over my comment and not reply, can I just mention that, right now, your post states that all PS+ members can avail of the Resident Evil: Retribution exclusive offer.
That means PS+ users without access to a SEN Video Store are included. Great! Thanks! I’ll see you then. I’m looking forward to renting this movie. Thanks for making this available to all PS+ subscribers!

What do we have in the way of PS2 Classics in the PS Store in Australia? A bunch of Dora the Explorer games? [CENSORED]?!
PS2 is not being manufactured now so what gives? Either make PS3 backwards compatible or make more games available for re-purchase on the PS Store. A lot of these are available in some countries.
The Australian PS Store has jack [CENSORED] in the way of PS)ne and PS2 games. Some goodies, but hardly anything.
I really hope a Sony Admin reads these because we’re sick of waiting for games everywhere else gets years before us. We’re sick of not getting them at all. The PSX games alone would make more people want a Vita.

No Chrono Trigger?! Seriously?
No Breath of Fire III for console and no Breath of Fire IV at all?
No Chrono Chross?
We’re getting boned in the way of RPGs but moreso in the way of games in general. Please do something about it. Any of these games i’d buy again in a heartbeat. Or still play them if I had a working PS2 =(
Are we even going to get Disgaea I (and eventually II) like the US?
Thanks for your time

HELLO!!!! ANYBODY HOME??? A new year with an old question: WHERE IS RESIDENT EVIL 2? The game got pulled from the store by mistake. The guy who made the complaint already said he got the game working by using the touchscreen for changing discs. Put the game back in the store that i paid for. And don’t tell me it is being looked into. There is nothing to look into. The game WORKS!!!!!

For those wondering why Microsoft can release content globally at the same while Sony struggle and fail to do the same, there’s a simple reason.
Microsoft are more interested in fostering a relationship with their customers, Sony are more interested in fostering a relationship with developers. Microsoft have increased their market share Sony’s has collapsed.

@ 179 – i am still waiting for Dino Crisis which apparently is coming to the store about 2 years ago. Merica has it, why not Aussie! We all speak good ‘ol English too you know!
Also that brings up my other point, what ever happened to RE2 getting patched to work on Vita. Did that patch come or what. We could play it on Vita until you guys pulled it and said it needed a patch! Hmm!

Doesn’t say it’s exclusive to the UK in the post. You might want to update it because, as it currently stands, it’s false advertising.

@184
That’s why I made a huge rant man.
I’ve been waiting for so long for so many games.
Many of which the US has and even Europe but we get screwed in Australia. Our new ratings system is completely in effect. No more excuses from anyone except the publisher. You would think after leaving us in the dark for SO LONG that they would want to do a little fan service. I mean it’s not like they wouldn’t make money from it. If anything, they’d probably convert a few 360 players
191
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:10 pm by You_Better_Hide
Scratch my last comment, i think it is only UK
Give Aussie + member free movie rentals, Like 1 a month or something. Come on, you know you want to.
Also that is good news about RCR.
192
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:15 pm by You_Better_Hide
@ 188 – I agree, but you see, i think the Publishers are not yet aware of our new rating system is in effect. It has only been effective for 17 days.
As my last post somewhere on this page mentioned, Publishers no longer have the Excuse not to submit here due to the OFLC not accepting the game, as from this year, all games will be accepted and placed in accordance in the appropriate rating. That means the RC (Refused Classification) system will be smaller. More titles get through now. Didn’t they completely replace MA to R?
Poor little kids no longer get there COD games. *tear* LOL

Orgarythm and Sumioni and other stuff not available.. Like, everywhere? You, despicable, incompetent results or monkey-dog cross-breeding. Whatever SCEUK, Vta will be the last Sony platform I’ve ever bought. And you have the audacity… No, just no. I’m done with you. Steam it is, now and forever.

Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:19 pm by You_Better_Hide
@ 188 – Also, i think many 360 players are already converted. There are some neat titles hitting the PS3 this year:
The Last Of Us,
Beyond Two Souls,
And a few others i can’t remember – because i am not excited for them, i am excited for the above ones.
360 aren’t getting many exclusives this year. Also they lost the Mass Effect exclusive (thank you EA)
195
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:21 pm by Demoplay86
@190
I think they added MA15+ and R for ‘adult games’ (too violent or whatever)
I just think it;s harsh. There are many games that were released here previously. Many of which we Australians bought, played and loved. Those games should still have the same classification and yet they get released in other countries and not here. It’s not only unfair, it’s excluding us and giving the US preferential treatment. And it just blows.
As for the banned games and Refused Classification games, you’d think there would be a pile waiting the second it went into effect.
I’m just sick of being forgotten about as a gamer. =(

Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:21 pm by crusher915
and also are there 2 batches left for the January sale or just 1??? Any Big and or Recent Games (just wink if there are any, in-case you aren’t able to give out that information
)

Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:24 pm by Demoplay86
@192
Well I think the main issue was the belated release of the PS3. A lot of people put down their PS2s and picked up a 360 because they didn’t want to miss out on the new gen. Then there was the pricing of the original PS3 and many subsequent models. That put a lot of people off.
Thankfully Sony have taken the lead again in units sold and i’d chalk it up to PS+ being freaking awesome and the new system removing the “it’s too expensive’ excuse. That and the slew of awesome titles.
I just wish we got more ‘classics’ =(
198
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:26 pm by You_Better_Hide
@ 193 – i think i read somewhere that (WB) Mortal Kombat was resubmitting. So that would be great to have that title we missed out on. Oh okay they are keeping MA. Thought they abolished it and just whacked a R on it.
And our first R18 title in Australia is: Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for the WiiU… well, that sucks. They could have made a better game to bring in the R18 to Australia. I mean, it only took 20 years! All well lol!
199
Posted on 16 January, 2013 at 5:29 pm by You_Better_Hide
@ 195 – You know the Next Gen, the first console to come out will be the Microsoft XBOX again, it will take about a year after Xbox before we see the PS4! Xbox rush their product to boost sales, and going off the plague of problems 360 had (RRoD, E74 Error etc etc), i would not touch the new xbox with a 50 ft pole. I’ll wait it to the PS4!

@Jawad: Why are you ignoring questions regarding Sumioni in Scandinavia? And other games/services for that matter…
All retail games are in English here! Why can’t we get the same PSN games as the UK?
Why is this so hard? Please explain!
