Sony has really fallen the last generation. Well, what could one expect. You treat your customers the same way you treat pooop. One need to ask anyway: So, when are you gonna grow some bussniss sense and release PSM outside a few selected states? Grow some sense and you might actually make some money (might come as a shock, but I has often worked for others!).
And, has PSM come to the Asus transformer line of tablets, as you asid it would in october?

When is PSM coming to the UAE’s PSN store ? I’ve not been able to enjoy these free games on my Vita.

I don’t have a PS Mobile smartphone but I am planning to get a PS Vita later.

Can you please make a ps mobile store in your web store so I can claim them and download them when I get my Vita?

VitalogyPJ 30 January, 2013 @ 11:58 am   4

Yay more free stuff for brits and aussies only woo hoo I’m so happy (not).

Brilliant. Thank you Sony, much appreciated.

Every week it’s the same story from the commenters complaining that PS Mobile isn’t available in their location. I’m aware that it’s frustrating but not getting something for free is no reason to complain and ruin what is a good offer for other people. The kind folks who run the blog don’t have any power to launch Mobile in other countries so rather than complaining why don’t you just let those who appreciate the promotion share their thanks?

AlexAtkinUK 30 January, 2013 @ 12:04 pm   7

Its saddening that these games have all been pretty good for mobile games, but the fact they are limited to a few chosen Sony phones in a few specific markets, really spoils that.

So I end up playing them on my PS Vita which while they are still decent games, its heartbreaking to be wasting my PS Vitas potential on this sort of thing. I bought it for proper console quality gaming so these games will have to go very soon as I am running out of space.

If only I could play these on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 where its appropriate for these more casual, touch-based games. More importantly, there is no way I am BUYING mobile games for Vita, that is what my phone is for. So limiting the market might seem like a good idea to sell phones, but as I have 20 months left on my contract its really not an option. You really need to get Playstation Mobile on more competitor handsets.

Presumably there are issues rolling this out to the relevant countries, otherwise they would be available.

Yes I know it sucks to be in a country that doesn’t get it, and it’s a bit of a cruel tease seeing others getting something for free, but it’s not like everyone else just got a free copy of Ni No Kuni or anything….

If it was as simple as “Sony get your act together and press the “activate everywhere” switch”…..then it would be available.

The things people whine about in this generation of gaming astounds me.

Got the PS3 version through Plus and was actually enjoyable. So this might be the first Playstation Mobile game in this promotion that is actually any cop…whenever they choose to update it.

Silent_Gig 30 January, 2013 @ 12:16 pm   10

Cant wait to give this one a try, thanks for working on such a great promotion.

StefNighthawk 30 January, 2013 @ 12:32 pm   11

@Mojo__Man,
If you were on the other side of the fence such whining wouldn’t astound you.
Why do competitors do seem to have access to an “activate everywhere switch”?
We are completely left in the blank about Sony’s services.
Why is it so hard to even show us a road-map. If they can’t show us that then it would mean there are currently no plans to release elsewhere.
Do we need to remind you about the “carrot on a stick” called the comics store that was ultimately binned? Or how about the Video Store that was multiple times announced for other markets “later this year” or “next year” on several press events (E3, GamesExpo, …). Did it even get expanded since it existence?

Six weeks of free PlayStation Mobile gaming – update 3a: PSM still not available in majority of EU countries.

@StefNighthawk: you hit the nail on the head. “It’s not that easy” excuse would fly in late 90′s, but with the flow of information we have now, we can easily compare the competitors. It does seem that Sony is the only major company that somehow doesn’t have access to the “activate everywhere switch”. I wouldn’t mind it that much if it was just PSM or VidZone, but it’s unacceptable when it comes to digitally distributed games. Europe seems like like a 3rd world in that regard if you are Sony customer.

Tonello1976 30 January, 2013 @ 12:45 pm   14

@ JezPSN

While I agree and understand your opinion, you may not forget that this is the EUROPEAN blog, and store, NOT the British one.
There is simply too much which isn’t available outside the UK; PSM, access, Netflix, etc… Not to mention the availability for some games in the store from time to time, I understand the problem that Germany and Australia have, but sometimes games aren’t available in 10 or more countries…

Mayumi Donovan should change his title from; European Product Manager, SCEE,
to UK Product Manager SCE(UK)
I’m not pointing my finger to him especially, but to Sony Europe, because it really is a joke sometimes… Just like the EU in general. United my ass!

Countries: AU, GB

Nice Playstation EUROPE Blog…

So UK = EU in your view?

How about starting to activate this for the whole of Europe? It shouldn’t have to take this long to make this happen. We’re a half year on with PSMobile and just have to look at the six weeks of free PSM gaming and just hope it arrives somewhere in the next decade.

The Netherlands/mainland EU wants to get the same as the most important part of EU gets (which we all know is why SCEE serves UK the best, it has the highest PS3 unit sales).

If you want to win over all of Europe for PS3/PSVita and upcoming PS4, you’d better start to get them on board. Like how Microsoft serves its most important market USA the best and beat Sony there. Make sure this content will be Playstation minded for your own best interest Sony…

maximalcheetor 30 January, 2013 @ 12:50 pm   16

It still amazes me that every time a game or service is announced by Sony and there are regional restrictions, it’s automatically assumed that Sony are the bad guys in all of this.

Yes, there are more products available if you live in the UK but there are reasons why certain things (including PS Mobile) can’t be rolled out more. If there’s a specific reason why it can’t be done yet, just let them work on it and when it is ready they’ll make it happen. We can speculate as much as we want but I can’t honestly see Sony holding back to deliberately screw people over – ultimately they want their products available to as many consumers as possible but to release anything globally there are going to be a lot of local issues that will need to be addressed for every country a product is available in and if there are legal hold-ups, Sony would be prohibited from talking about them…

JezPSN @6

Sure you’d say that LIVING IN UK. pfffff

The mods can’t do anything, yet, the more people ask/complain about the situation the more signals through the blog will be send into Sony’s organisation and pushing to take action.

If you want to share your thanks, do so. Stop telling others to express their feelings towards a service on the EUROPEAN blog which basically gives joy to just UK. Aight?!

maximalcheetor 30 January, 2013 @ 12:58 pm   19

With film and TV services, every title that is available needs to meet each country’s local classification system so there can’t be a single service to cover every country across Europe. It’s the same with Youtube – although it’s free, there are a lot of American Youtube channels that are blocked from being viewed from outside of the USA for that very same reason. Yes, it’s frustrating but it’s not Youtube’s fault.

Games are another issue altogether. Back in the 90s, there were games available in most countries but were banned in Germany because they showed blood or had to be altered so it’s not a new issue but with games being easier to distribute digitally, safeguards and complying with local laws means that it can take longer.

All it takes is for *one* mistake to fall foul of a local law and Sony could be in a lot of trouble and get far more negative publicity (or worse) than a having a few months delay. No, it’s not fun but it’s how the games industry has been for the last three decades and until the whole world has standard communication / film and games rating systems and follows the same laws then it will never change.

TheMART

give uk separeted blog , them are not living in europe ;)

Hey all. In the hope of drawing a line under this conversation for today: PS Mobile is currently available in UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia. We are working hard on expanding the service to other regions. Honestly, we read your comments every week and we fully understand your frustration. As soon as we have news we will update you all immediately.

Regarding Monoliet’s comment – everyone is of course very welcome to visit the Enlgish language version of the Blog and we love having you here. That said, I’ll remind you that there are also French, German, Italian and Spanish versions of the site that carry more region-specific posts. See the ‘select a language’ tab at the top of the page.

total agry , but why appel , ms can do – sony not ????

something in the way they work is not good !

1 sample = counterstrike = just too ridiculous for words.
why not, excuses but there are legal issues, we gamers are only human and understend not everiting = foult of sony .
ofterwel silence them – ofterwel very very shortly – or no commentary, are apparently only t words in their dictionary.

Wrong. Germany can’t get violent/bloody games. The rest of EU mainland is the same as UK.

Besides that, we can get all other games the same as UK, the big retail ones, and you think that PSMobile suddenly would meet restrictions to do so?

This only has to do with Sony being willing to get it into more countries, nothing else. There are NO local Dutch laws that prevent PSM free games to be given to Sony Playstation users any different then in UK. Utter nonsense mate.

StefNighthawk 30 January, 2013 @ 1:23 pm   23

@maximalcheetor,
If they can’t bother to inform consumers about the hurdles they have to release a service and what Sony is doing about it to overcome these hurdles, then yes, Sony are the bad guys.
There should be a road-map on which there is a target for every phase in the PSM rollout.
Is it really that confidential to tell us what those targets are and what is delaying that target instead of giving us bogus “carrot on a stick” promises.

To anyone who’s saying that we should keep the complaints to ourself – this is not how it works. We *need* to be vocal about it. If we would just sit quiet and only praise Sony, nothing would change. We know that blog moderators are not the ones responsible and there’s not much they can do, but they can still do more than we can – even if just by raising those issues on company meetings and such.

Mojo__Man 30 January, 2013 @ 1:28 pm   25

Good luck Mayumi! ;-)

TheMART -StefNighthawk -MaxiM_82

sony needs to stop to be arogant !!! jes make plan were we can see +- where we are stending .
exampel counterstrike = statuus = ko – lawproblem- …… not coming .

them need time , i tink we give them more then time enof .
we europe peopel are way to nice , maby = time we do same like usa + own contri = not buy until u give better service + corect price .

no facebook ps3- no you tube ps3 – no netflix …..
onli ting we not need them put tru ore troat = spam star ( to some wo want give them option free aps dowload )

And there goes yet another free game…

I really don’t see how you are going to sell psvitas if you can’t support more then 6 countries. A Service like this should NOT be this big problem to launch into more countries.

I think monoliet might be the only person on this earth, where it would less painful to read the translation of Google, instead of his own “attempts”.

Mojo__Man 30 January, 2013 @ 1:49 pm   29

LOL @ Golwar

lol , tanks 2 free gift ni no kuni in store+1 to ps+ , but preorder crysis 3 = 69.99 € ,lol not suporting 1 game who above 59,99€

Mojo__Man 30 January, 2013 @ 2:02 pm   32

Speak for yourself Monoliet. I myself AM perfect.

hahaha non = perfect
if u say u nowh everiting + are the best in everiting then u not human but robot .

And – AGAIN – why is it not possible to purchase the PSM games via webstore and PS3. Instead of offering the cr@p there like movies and other stuff by default when people are looking mainly for games …

StefNighthawk 30 January, 2013 @ 2:16 pm   35

@Monoliet,
That imperfect English wouldn’t be a problem if you would at least try to improve. But as it is your English is getting worse instead of better.
Tip : if you’re not good at English, please do not to add acronyms as LOL to your attempts.

supersmith2500 30 January, 2013 @ 2:17 pm   36

Already played the HD version on PS3 so maybe I might get it for a portable system too.

sakisyo25 30 January, 2013 @ 2:26 pm   37

Sony MUST grow up. I don’t want to sound offensive but I feel very dissapointed as a customer. PS Vita is supposed to be region free but PSN is not. I have my PS Vita for 6 months now but I’m still waiting for great and exclusive games. The only games I see now are the overpriced mobile games and some ports from other platforms.
Even the PS Store on the PS Vita is getting old. Where are the screenshots on the games?
There is no support from Sony for the system no support from the developers which leads to no support from the buyers.

Looking Good… but PSM is not available in Sweden.

Oops, i forgot i sold my PSVita a couple days ago.

I have no words anymore.

I have waited longer than most of you who has av PSVITA because I bought the Xperia Play mobile phone in 2011.

That’s still not supported in Sweden.

We in Sweden have waited för Playstation Video Store since 2009….

maximalcheetor 30 January, 2013 @ 2:27 pm   39

It’s still not a case of “let’s all blame Sony” for this. Netflix and Lovefilm’s global rollout is down to them sorting out what they can and can’t make available in each territory and has nothing to do with Sony (or whatever other platform they release their software on). With so many different film / TV classification systems in existence, they ALL have to be complied with before any half-decent library can be made available. Yes, the software can be ready quickly, but there’s no point having that online with nothing to watch.

With the PS Mobile titles, don’t forget that all of this not only has to go through the PSN Store but Google Play as well and they have their own guidelines and restrictions in place when it comes to what is released and when and what can be made available for what country. The books service is only available to a limited number of countries as are their videos and Sony’s hands are tied by what Google will allow them to do.

I honestly don’t envy Sony one bit. Apple have got it easy with their store as they can control pretty much every part of it – hardware and distribution, apart from writing the software itself.

38# No reason to get the videostore anymore since Netflix have been released.

SCEE read our comments? That’s pretty easily achieved isn’t it? My four year old son can read perfectly well. The difference being SCEE do flack all about it.

One word….SingStar!! I’ll say it again…S-I-N-G-S-T-A-R. This embarrassing mess is the perfect example of SCEE in general. “Just ignore the problem, they’ll forget about it eventually”.

I can’t begin to express how excited I am for the XBOX3. Microsoft show SCEE up on every turn. Shame on all of you.

Oh for god’s sake Scuffy_P. SingStar is really such a problem, eh?
I’ll accept SingStar any day instead of trading Playstation Plus for the abomination named Xbox Live Gold.

In case that you care about games too, maybe you registered that MS produces almost no exclusives anymore? Yay, they got another Halo last year and that’s it. Laughable.

Seriously, there are several legit reasons to complain. Especially regarding the releases for SCEE.
And it seems that there legal department is full of overly frightened pus****, that rather tend to do 3 steps backwards instead of one daring step forward, to be at least en par with their competition.
But the overall comparison with Microsoft? Still an easy win for Sony.

But hey, if you think that you must move on due SingStar – good luck.

i think if playstation released an update making the ps3 backwards compatible with PS2 games more people would buy a ps3 and more would join ps store ect, simple fact is ps3 has the store ps2 dont so many people say if the ps3 was able to play ps2 games they would get one

sdutton007 30 January, 2013 @ 3:29 pm   44

Shame that no HTC devices are supported yet.

Also a shame that the Store doesn’t have any Playstation Mobile games…

I suppose it’s a good deal for the few people with a device that Playstation Mobile actually works on though…

sdutton007 30 January, 2013 @ 3:34 pm   45

^^ Following on from my above comment, it seems that SOME of the Playstation-certified HTC devices can now use the service, but still not the One V.

@ maximuscheetor

“With the PS Mobile titles, don’t forget that all of this not only has to go through the PSN Store but Google Play as well and they have their own guidelines and restrictions in place when it comes to what is released and when and what can be made available for what country.”

And do I give a flying freaking f…? Nope I don’t!

If they can get the PSM on a dumb Android tablet, I want to have it on my freaking PSVita! It is a Playstation device, it should have PRIORITY above any other platform.

There are virtually no restrictions possible on PSM games that it is just not available AT ALL the complete PSM part in PSN store.

Pathetic, that is what it is.

JonnyPauz 30 January, 2013 @ 6:21 pm   47

maximalcheetor 31 January, 2013 @ 12:30 am   50

@randellaUK

You may need to update the PS Mobile software on the Vita. I’ve got a lot of the games installed on mine and not had any issues with any of them crashing so it could be down to that.

Load all
