Hello, PlayStation Blog readers and God of War fans.
Everyone knows Kratos has anger management issues; he will stop at nothing to get revenge on Ares and all of the gods that have betrayed him. In God of War 1-3 ** SPOILER ALERT ** we got to experience Kratos’ quest for vengeance as he took down Ares and literally climbed his way to the top of Olympus to defeat Zeus himself.
God of War: Ascension, however, is set before the first God of War game. Through the course of the story, we get to see a more human side of Kratos as he deals with the pain and suffering of having just lost everything he has ever loved.
We worked closely with Imaginary Forces, the creative minds behind some of the gorgeous cut scenes in Ascension and some of the past God of War games, and Santa Monica Studio to bring Kratos and his family to life, paying careful attention to each painstaking detail.
I’m extremely excited to share with you the full length version of our “From Ashes” live action trailer featuring a special arrangement of Ellie Goulding’s “Hanging On”.
This is just about the biggest production we’ve ever undertaken for a God of War commercial or trailer, or for any PS3 game for that matter. We are very proud of how it turned out, and hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.

awesome, god of war is one of my all time favourite series. Can’t wait to see how it all began and would be good to see a more human side to Kratos

not gunna lie this trailer jus made me really want the new god of war but i want to play 3 and the 2nd collection before i do so can you put god of war 3 on the store please…i platinumed 1 and 2

That may be one of the greatest trailers I’ve ever seen. Teared up. Over the years you get so used to angry Kratos, it’s sad to watch him have the smile torn away from his face.

The song choice while at first I thought it didn’t fit but it really conveyed the emotion of the trailer perfectly by the end. And now, I want a GOW film!

Ugh are you guys serious? Live action sucks.. These are games, show off some CGI!! That first gameplay trailer of God of war 3, now that was a masterpiece.. Still one of my alltime favorite trailers.
