Good afternoon everyone. Headlining this week’s update, Dead Space 3 brings Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier John Carver on a journey across space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. Crash-landed on the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, Isaac must comb the harsh environment for raw materials and scavenged parts.
Play together with a friend or alone as Isaac Clarke using the seamless new drop in, drop out co-op functionality. Each mode offers unique story elements and gameplay.
When he’s not planning his next heist or tracking criminals across time, Sly Cooper likes to hang out with his pals in Bentley’s arcade. As well as being a gadget guru and master hacker, trusty sidekick Bentley is also a whizz at designing videogames – and you can try your hand at three of his creations with Bentley’s Hackpack.

@supersmith2500 – I didn’t get an option. I just chose to download the only one available. It clearly is the one hour trial. It says I have 55 minutes remaining.

Is Mafia 2 ever going to come on PSN Plus? Either as a freebie or at a discount?

@hbk2717:
Odd, mine said 301 days and that’s the length of my Plus subscription. I suggest reinstalling it, go back to the PS Store, select the game, select pick version and pick Full Game and the bottom. Then download it again and delete the 1-hr Trial version. Hope it helps.

SONY,
Get the guy that sets the price on the digitial versions of the games down to a game store or argos or asda, or well anywhere that sells games so he can see the value. Then explain to him how the lack of a physical copy means no secondhand resale value, and how we need to download the data.
Also explain how games lose value over time.
Your pricing at the moment is getting stupid £50 for a game was bad but £60 is insulting specialy for a game thats been out for so long as black ops 2 (unless that includes the online pass)

Why is the add to cart option gone from the store for free items..?
Really annoying that we cant add a few items to cart and then download them as I wish, instead now how to download each one separately on the spot…

The UK is the third largest market by itself for video games and we have always paid over the odds. Look at the recent distribution at Namco with ni no kuni at one stage in the UK you could only buy it from the ps store. It’s came to the point for gamers that we have always paid over the odds and with analysts suggesting, like the pc store steam, we will download rather than buy its set to get worse. Companies have to get as much return so although costs are less for digital they have to charge more as we move away from the highstreet store (game, gamestation and hmv, virgin megastore etc have shown this) .
Unless a regulator comes in they can set an rrp and sell a game at any price. In dome instances its cheaper to buy from the Xbox store than the ps3 store however recent fraud cases done by the rbs over Christmas show that Xbox was the unsafe option in terms of credit cards.
£60 for a digital game is laughable but you’ll be surprised who’ll pay it… You’d have thought a world wide recession had just ended

The prices for some of the PS3 games are far too high.
£59.99 for Dead Space 3 on the PS Store when I could get it for £39.99 on Amazon…

Thats actually really ticking me out right now,Im so fed up about being treated as a second rate customer from sony.
They are costumes,what the hell.

@hbk2717 – I have a very similar problem with F1 Race Stars, although I may have accidentally selected Full Game Trial.
Now when I go back to the store I don’t get the option to select the full version, it just downloads the trial again. Will other full game trials you usually get like a 6kb unlock file when you buy, but there’s no other downloads available for F1 Race Stars.

a pretty nice month yet again for us PS+ members
going to really enjoy sleeping dogs and quantum conundrum
though I am a bit sad of the choice of F1 race stars…
it didn’t get so many above average reviews and isn’t as close to being as good to MS: apocalypse
my wishes for games on PS+ in the future:
-XCOM: enemy unknown
-Max Payne 3
-Portal 2
-Saints Row 3
-MGS 4 / MGS HD collection
I don’t care if not all of them will be put one day for PS+ but at least one of them would make me very pleased
though even without these games the stuff I get from PS+ are fantastic!!
keep up the great work

@Topov81 – I deleted the first F1 Racestars that I had downloaded and it disappeared from my download list. So I selected the game again and it gave me option of game demo or full game. I’m downloading it now. Hopefully this will download the full game.

How is it that Ragnarok Odyssey was meant to be release Winter 2012 and it is now February 2013 and we’re only getting the demo? not that I’m complaining some progress is better then no progress I suppose

I’ll be downloading Sleepy Dogs for sure, and I already got 4 trophies for my first time using Wakeup Club. I’m sort of tempted by Alien Breed but not sure if it’s worth it, especially with no demo.
However, I have to comment on the bs with Sly Cooper. You expect us to wait almost 2 extra months to get this game, for what reason? Do you really think we’re going to be happy with a stupid minigame that ties into the game while we wait for the main game? I can’t even import it because I want to use the cross-buy feature. Just get the game out now. If it’s good enough for America to have now, it’s good enough to let us play it now.
168
Posted on 6 February, 2013 at 10:02 pm by Regisek
Do not buy Bentley’s Hackpack. The cross-buy is not working correctly for this title. I bought PS3 version and get only PS Vita demo to download. No full version unlock for PS Vita. Sony you need to fix it.
Informational Alien Breed is cross-buy.

According to the PS3 Store the ever-delayed Ratchet and Clank QForce was supposed to be released today. But once again nothing… Why this secrecy instead of just being honest and providing some information?

Great update this week. Really awesome. Will definitely be grabbing Sleeping Dogs and its DLC and possibly a couple Vita titles too.
Though Im wondering, can you persuade XSEED to make a small demo for Orgarhythm? Im really interested cos I love rhythm games, but I like to make sure Id like how it plays before committing to a buy.

All EA games are now £59.99 on the Store which is SCANDALOUS! All they’ve done is replace the $ sign with a £ as the games are $59.99 in the States but that works out at around $85-$90
I am URGING EVERYBODY NOT TO BUY THESE GAMES!!! Until we STOP paying these ridiculous prices this is just going to get worse and with it being thought that in a couple of gen it will ALL be digital then we need to speak up with our wallets NOW! Its the only thing that Thieving scumbags like EA will listen to.
Also JAWAD where is the Ragnorak Demo? Its now 10pm and its still not on the Store.
172

@Topov81 – Just to confirm what I put in my last post has worked. I now have the full game.

Posted on 6 February, 2013 at 10:21 pm by NightRanma
Also there’s no Ragnarok Odyssey demo on the store. I thought it was supposed to be up today.
174
Posted on 6 February, 2013 at 10:45 pm by Fenrir188
Also with the ragnarok demo will we be able to save any progress we make in the demo to use when the full game is released (using a save data transfer or something along those lines)
175
Posted on 6 February, 2013 at 10:57 pm by Topov81
Thanks hbk2717 for the update. I loaded F1 Race Stars, downloaded the v1.02 patch then waited an hour, at which point the game says it had expired.
I then went back to the XMB and the expiry date has now changed to 07/12/2014 which is when my PS+ runs to, so it’s sorted itself out without needing to re-download.

Any replies to anyone yet?
177
Posted on 7 February, 2013 at 12:47 am by Coody-Baroody
@ Topov81
Or to anyone who is worried when they update their subscriptions, ALL the games you already have on your hard drive will say they have expired. All you have to do is start the game when your signed into PSN and it then checks in the background if you have the license (which im guessing it does everytime anyway) then when it sees you do it plays fine and then updates your expiry date.

Quite a lot of complainers again this week. Fun times.
@Those waiting for a reply
Fred has already said Jawad and Chris are out of the office for a few days. Maybe that’s why you have no replies. You cant expect one man to reply every time you click your fingers. Give them time and just maybe someone would get back to you at some point if they have the time
@Everyone complaining about the prices
I agree with you all that 60 quid is too much for Dead Space 3 and Black Ops 2. But look at it this way, you get two copies of it when you buy it. Download the 2nd onto another PS3. Try buying two disc and you will be spending 80 quid.
It seems clear them prices are high because of people gamesharing. Ever thought about gamesharing with a trusted friend and pay just half? 30 quid each sounds good doesn’t it?? Both of yas would be saving yourselves a big 10er. If digital games was 40 quid and people gameshared it, you would be only needing to pay 20 quid each and that would be too good to be true
179
Posted on 7 February, 2013 at 1:05 am by tapantaola
@IrishDude2 #179
Digital games costed the same when we had 5 activation slots.
60 quid / 5 consoles = 12 quid
By your logic they should be cheaper now that we have 2 slots only.
180

@IrishDude2 #179
Posting your key weekly blog that drives sales for PSN and then having no one managed what is essentially customer relations is perhaps the lamest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
Regarding game prices, the 1st & 2nd party games prices are generally ok. But it is the 3rd parties publishers who really raise the middle finger to us.
The gamesharing argument doesn’t hold up. I can also get a friend to co-buy the game and then just share the disc in some way. That is the same.
In fact we could get 4 friends to buy 4 games and rotate share those discs essentially meaning publishers lose out on 12 sales. That is far more damage that sharing a digital game twice.
The high prices are because Sony doesn’t have the guts to take a stand on this and also because everyone fears angering retailers even though the much rumoured next-gen ‘no trading in’ tech will do just that.

Whatever happened to the old playstation plus content?
when i first joined there were ACTUAL games such as red dead redemption, lbp 2, borderlands, infamous 2, just cause 2 and motorstorm apocolypse.
now once a month we get only one good addition (sleeping dogs) and then the rest is always just crappy little games that arent even worth being free. bring back the old ps plus! if its because you have to shell out some of the profits of ps plus to pay for the rights to psvita games then forget them theres only like 1 good game for psvita and its already been up.
p.s for all you wondering, f1 race stars is horrible. it looks fun but its one of those annoying race games where the creator seems to have a hard-on for challenges as even on the easy difficulty its far more difficult than hard on any other game.

Sorr to say that the PS3 version of SLEEPING DOGS performs really really BAD comparing to the 360 version. I now have both versions to compare yesterday.
The PS3 version is crippled with screentearing and framedrops that occurs rather frequent.
The 360 is much better, and plays like almost a whole different game.

Peoples arguments about game pricing are really quite blind really. No resale value? What has that got to do with the publisher/developer etc. When you sell a game they see none of that resale money. So why should they make it cheaper for you because of that? Games loose value over time? No. Physical stock looses value over time as the store no longer wants older stock taking up space in store. The publisher has made their sale, the store is then free to sell it for less if they want. There are no manufacturing costs? On a per game level manufacturing costs are actually quite small and this is easily substituted by hosting costs. There are costs to digital hosting through a third party, Sony don’t do it for free. I think I saw somewhere once that it costs ten grand just to publish a patch.
Now I agree that £59.99 is too high and they should fall in line with the 39.99 – 44.99 model but if digital isn’t right for you order the retail. You will probably even end up with it first. I’m all for putting arguments together but they need to be objective.

I want a refund on my plus account. It was advertised that Sleeping dogs was to be available even on German’s accounts. I log in yesterday and the game appeared on poster on the network but could not download it. This morning I sign in the game is still not on and then I log on the blog and find out that the game is not going to be available to Germany that called ripping off your customers Sony. I renewed my ps+ membership yesterday in order to get this game. You can’t expect me to log in the blog to see each change you make every hour. I work and don’t spend my time on the blogs. You could have at least warned your clients when they sign in to PS+ about the change.
I want a refund or a top rated game. I won’t be satisfied with a low rated game like Gotham city that, I don’t even play by the way, this situation really angers me and ruined my day. If I am not satisfied I won’t renew another ps+ cycle. pffffff … very angry

Good to have a reply but I don’t think you guys understand the frustration of the users especially if they paid the subscription based on the advert of having a certain game. I feel ripped off, and I though that PS+ was the best thing

To ALL you German subscribers. I dont understand why you dont just put an English address down on a new account, get PS+ on that account and then you’ll never have to worry about your countrys insane babysitting laws any longer.
