Hi everyone. God of War: Ascension‘s 13th March launch date is fast approaching. We have lots of different ways for you to purchase, whether you’re after just the game itself or a console too.
As we announced on PlayStation Blog late last year, you’ll be able to purchase the game in Standard, Special and Collector’s Editions.
In addition, the game will also be available in several different bundle options:
- Standard Edition with a limited edition God of War: Ascension DUALSHOCK3 Wireless Controller
- Standard Edition with a Black PS3 500GB and DUALSHOCK3 Wireless Controller
- Special Edition with a Black or White PS3 500GB and limited edition God of War: Ascension DUALSHOCK3 Wireless Controller
Please check with your local retailers for availability on all of the above offers.

Also, would the pricing of the controller + game bundle be the same of the inFamous 2 that landed back at the time?

It applies to all European markets who’ve chosen to include these bundles for launch, so you’ll need to check with local retailers to see if they’re available.

I want the statue but the only place that I can find that has it are Shopto, their prices are usually amazing but they have it for £85? So im gonna pay an extra £45 for a statue?? Yeah no thanks…

The higher price point relates to the inclusion of the Season Pass for all future DLC, as well as the statue.

does the steelbook only have a slot for 1 disc or will it have 4 so i can put gow3, gow hd and gow hd2 in it?

The steelboook allows for 2 disks to be inserted so you wouldn’t fit all of the above in there.

Pre ordered this bad boy in december wife says part of my xmas so cant wait. Played gow1 when it first came out on ps2 years ago was hooked love the series best thing on playstation. Roll on march 15 th

How about telling us for once what retailers are actually doing these different special editions?
everytime u do one of these u never say where they can actually be bought. I assume its a secret right?
…..cant have them exclusives selling well, right sony?

As there are so many markets covered by SCEE, it’s not feasible in a blog post to list all the different retailers who are selling these bundles. In addition, not all territories sell every bundle, so the best advice is that you check with your local retailers to see what is available in your territory.

Allready pre-ordered a LE or something from Game, can’t believe it’s nearly here, time has just flown it seems, i might just go for one of them bundles though, usually change/renew around April/May anyway and this 320GB should get me halfways to newer one, in trade, plus added game included, hmm. But i must see what the reveal on 20th says first, Will i even bother getting another ps3?, i wonder..
Ross is that the Ross who done (good work) plus for us a while back ?. if so i thought you left scee for greener pastures, something your avatar picture looks like he’d like (lol), where’d you get that from, more importantly why did you pick it ?, never seen it before, anywhere.. which i guess is a good reason itself. anyway if it is ‘our’ Ross hope your well, if it isn’t then, well same i guess.

My ‘guess’ on prices is they will be the exact same as other bundles you can find around, usually it’s buy console with X game And have X BD movie And choice of 1 of 3 older games, type of thing, am not sure about other regions but UK make it so it actually profits you, or at least only slightly costs you to trade in for new ‘bundle’, obviously theres times when this isn’t as attractive, but they are very rare.. IF the gold controller will excempt this from the avarage cost then i would give it a miss, though i can’t see that being the case.. only ‘headache’ is having to redownload 280oddGB of ‘stuff’ everytime.. wish it was possible to store content externally.

amazon.co.uk have the best price ive found for collectors edition, gotta have that statue (let alone all the other stuff!) shopto.net also have it, the bundle with controller ive ever only seen on play.com as thats who stocked the infamous and killzone ones before. Hope this helps folks.

I learned buying figurines seperately because the ones included in games are always either too big or small or whatever for my taste :p Not very interested in the DLC either as it seems to be mostly multiplayer influenced.
