Access episode 69: Metal Gear Rising! The Last of Us! Die Hard!

ACCESS - TV_small

He’s come a long way from the fop-haired lady boy who controversially crashed the Metal Gear Solid 2 party back in 2001, and now Raiden is starring in his very own game.

His meteoric rise in popularity probably has something to do with the fact he’s now a katana-wielding cyborg who can slice through tanks like they’re made of melon – something you’ll be seeing quite a lot of as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance stars as Game of the Week in Access TV episode 69 – available on YouTube today.

Also in the show, we take a trip to Los Angeles for a first hands-on with The Last of Us – the game that is shaping up to be the biggest PS3 exclusive of 2013. As well as getting to grips with a post-apocalyptic wasteland populated by fungal-eyed mutants, we chat with Game Director Bruce Straley about narrative and horror and how his beard has gotten massive.

Then we’re at the UK premiere of A Good Day to Die Hard, as community presenter Matt Downton reports from the red carpet in London’s Leicester Square and also rubs shoulders with the stars of the film. There’s the latest news in PlayStation Briefing (including a look at Skyrim’s Dragonborn DLC) plus a roundup of the best content on the PlayStation Store. Check out the episode in the link below.

How the hell is The Last of Us shaping up to be the biggest PS3 exclusive of 2013? Have you forgotten about God of War: Ascension?! The successor to the universally critically acclaimed game that sold around 6 million copies without mass bundling and horrendous advertising. God of War: Ascension will be MUCH bigger than TLoU and personally I’m looking forward to it a lot more. It’s annoying how God of War never gets the respect it deserves.

Is this not on the PLAYSTATION STORE now? I have to find it on YouTube?! It’ll be nice if I can download via store like before?
Lets all be honest, the new redesign of the store is a little… bad if the likes of me isn’t sure if it there or not.

Yes you´re right.

I ordered both games already, but I also prefer God of War. But that´s because I like how easy you can pick up GOW and I like fantasy and greek mythology a lot.

Uncharted was in terms of graphics great – but gameplay was medium to average. I don´t think Last of US will be so different. Seems like a Resident Evil Clone to me. Sorry if I´m wrong. But Naughty Dog is one of the best Developers among Santa Monica that´s true.

Gow has great gameplay. I hope Ascension is not as hard as GOW 3 when you play it in the hardest mode. Did not finish the titan mode because it is frustrating to me. GOW Ghost of Sparta & Chains of Olympus were also hard but I platinumed em both (finished Chains on Vita before but played Ghost only half way through when I heard of the HD Remake). GOW 1+2 were not so interesting to me so I only finished em once.

And finally I also would like Access back on the Store. Youtube has a lower resolution. Come on Store Team load em up.

@ KAP

It´s under Apps and then Media I think but I havent´t found Episode 68 in the last update of the store.

Hopefully they didn´t stop to put in on the store with episode 67.

If you got no space Sony then delete the old episodes 1-20. I would be fine with that.

Horrible quality stream this week :s
Does anyone know whether you have to be a certain level for the Skyrim DLC, or can you tackle it at any given time?

Played the demo of MGS Rising, and must say it was more of a disappointment than I thought it would be. As except the main character “Raiden” I seen nothing in that game that resembled the MGS I enjoy…. Playing it felt like a cross between Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry.

@5 you don’t have to be a certain level to start it you can go there anytime by the guy on the boat in wind helm docks (250gold per travel) after that you can fast travel back and forth. But if you want to do the main questline however you need to have met the greybeards and have the quest to find that guys name I forget horn. Once you have that just go to a major city get attacked by cultists and away you go.

High everyone, Has anyone else had trouble trying to find where it is you can download Far Cry 2 for free,
it’s part of their Valentines Deal and I AM a plus subscriber.
I can find the game on the normal pages but it’s still priced at £15.99.
Any helpful info would be much appreciated.
