Hi everyone! It’s that time of the month again where we update you on all the new PlayStation Plus updates coming your way in March.
There are three new PS3 game and two for PS Vita in the line-up for March, as well as awesome titles such as F1 Race Stars, Quantum Conundrum and Wipeout 2048 that are already available.
Coming soon on PlayStation 3
We are very happy to announce that as of 6th March, for one month only, you can download acclaimed action RPG Mass Effect 3 as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription!
Developed by the very talented team at Bioware, this title completes the franchise in stunning form. The game plunges you into an all-out galactic war to take back earth from a terrifying enemy. It’s truly a first class RPG experience so make sure you check it out.
And if that’s not enough Mass Effect action for you, we’ve teamed up with our friends at publisher EA to offer great discounts on both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, for both Plus members and standard users. We’ll confirm details shortly.
Also dropping into the service on 6th March is the beautifully designed fighter Dead or Alive 5 from Tecmo Koei.
Featuring a range of game modes, the game picks up two years after the destruction of the tri- tower – headquarters and symbol of DOATEC. Helena Douglas has begun the task of rebuilding DOATEC, this time with the aim of using its technology for peaceful ends. Now in the same position once held by her father, Helena has announced that she intends to hold the fifth Dead or Alive tournament.
Your final PS3 offering for the month is the incredibly fun Joe Danger 2: The Movie. Picking up where the chart-topping, award-winning original left off, JD2 takes the world’s most determined stuntman to Hollywood. You’ll have to out run an avalanche as a skiing secret agent, take on laser spewing robots whilst flying a jetpack, or even become a water-skiing, sky-diving, quad-biking, dinosaur-dodging jungle adventurer.
Coming soon on PS Vita
First up for PS Vita on 13th March is Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Bundling together the second and third games in Hideo Kojima’s beloved series, this is surely the definitive handheld Metal Gear experience, boasting well over 30 hours of gameplay.
And last but certainly not least, on 20th March addictive puzzle platform title Puddle will join the PS Vita service. Conserve as much liquid as possible when crossing a variety of obstacles such as burning passageways, carnivorous plants and electric currents as you guide a puddle of fluid through 49 levels using the system’s rear touch pad and tilt functionality.
As usual, over the coming weeks you can also expect exclusive PS Plus discounts on lots of other products, including discounts on Dead or Alive 5 and Big Sky Infinity DLC. From 27th February we also have a 40% discount on the brilliant Far Cry 3 courtesy of our friends at Ubisoft, and we’ll also be offering you the Dust 514 Starter Pack DLC for free for two weeks! We’ll update you on these offers and more in the weekly Store posts.

@True_Heresy
What a nonsense. What kind of anniversary would it be to simply gift newcomers everything that previous subscribers paid for, for free?
But hey, why not simply make every single game free? And the hardware too? Imagine _that_ hype … geez.

Oh, oh, you just made your US counterpart want to call in sick Monday as he will be verbally crucified that our Plus games “suck” compared to the EU.
I have an EU account also but being an avid gamer I always have all the AAA games at launch but I appreciate the Plus membership anyway.
Not a Plus thing, but I wish all the old PS2 Harry Potter games would be brought as classics on the PSN store. The first 3 by EA were so good, but I played them on the GameCube.

Oh Chris, you little rascal, you…
I haven’t even had time to drag my jaw of the floor since last month, and here you go, ramming back down. PS Plus (and you sir) define the word amazing!

Speaking as a day1 plus subscriber up till a few months back, i really got to say how glad i am i lapsed my plus sub. Not just because i either allready had most of the (good) IGC games from launch, or haven’t really cared for any i hadn’t owned, no, my main problem would of been shame/embarresment. as though i may buy a game at launch, i rarely finish many for, up till 12 months later in one or two cases, So IF i still had plus and a say Sleeping Dogs type game came out.. lol.. i would be getting called a ?,, or charity case by some, ok, All my mates.. seriously. thats how ‘some’ people actually look at this, .. service, like a kind of red cross for underprivileged gamers. Now i Do like a deal, or bargain as much as anyone, but i Would feel like i was being given aid IF i was still subbing.. Also, though I will prob get some h8. What do ‘some’ plus users expect ?. Have you read some of these posts here.. it’s as though for 40 Quid (a Year!) some ppl think there able to ask for Anything, actually seen BLOPS2 ‘requested’ the other day.. Discounts on New releases (like US ?) and i’d come back. Not till then.

Disappointed as I already own Mass Effect 3 – I’d have loved to see fellow BioWare RPG Dragon Age – but it’s great for Plus users who don’t already have it, and I’m pretty excited to play Joe Danger 2!

I’m disappointed that the MGS HD Collection is only for the Vita. I wish that it was for PS3 too. And what about some Ninja Gaiden games for the PS3 this or next month?

Mass Effect online pass IS included, Chris allready answered similar questions before saying Every plus game that has online/mp or co-op modes will Allways come with the needed pass to use them, unless specifically stated otherwise, i can’t see no mention in his post that it won’t have pass, so i believe you’s are all good to go, also you need online pass for (very easy, for ME game) plat.. so they’d be murders if it weren’t included.

Can I just say huge thanks to the Sony EU team for providing us with great games every month on playstation plus. Already got my mates into subscribing for playstation plus since we’re all poor students.
Also thank you for introducing sleeping dogs to me, I was not really interested in the game when it was released but when it came on plus I played that game so much. I wished I bought the game to show my support for the developer but I do plan to buy the DLC so the devs can get money from me.

Really!? Chris, give it a rest!
I mean, after the awesome february stuff, you pull a dead or alive 5, joe danger and even manage to get away with the best metal gears on vita? :O
Now I have to get a bigger vita mem card
Not that Mass Effect 3 and Puddle are bad either
Keep’em coming Chris! Great work you are doing.

PSPlus is great, but could you give more games for kids? Most of games are PEGI 16 and 18. I would be very happy to see some LEGO games on PSPlus
Thanks for great games!

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!
Only 9 months into my subscription and I have some awesome extra games to play. PS+ has got to be the best deal ever for any gaming system!
Even when the PS4 Beast arrives I’ll be playing my PS3 for a good few years.
Wow for Vita content – I was thinking about getting a PS Vita hand held and now I have to! Some of the games I wanted to get initially are Uncharted GA, Wipeout 2048 & Gravity Rush. And now to add the brilliant MGS HD Collection is mind-blowing.
I AM now getting a PS Vita in the next two weeks!!!
Thanks a million Playstation.

Hi Chris.
First of all, awesome update. Actually, it’s beyond awesome. It is not how big the titles that made me go “H0ly Sheet!” but it’s the combination of the games and the various genre that they cover. I see that you guys really took the results of the poll to heart, the one where you asked us what kind of contents that we will like to see on Plus.
However, I do need to clarify something. Please correct me if I am wrong, but as I recall, shouldn’t there be 10 PS3 games, and 4 PS Vita games in the IGC at any given time? Right now I am only counting 9 PS3 games. It was also promised that the amount of Vita games will not affect the amount of PS3 games in the IGC.
Thanks.
Posted on 25 February, 2013 at 9:33 am by Chris Howe
There are currently 10 PS3 Games:
Little Big Planet 2
MotorStorm Apocalypse
inFamous 2
Sleeping Dogs
Guardians of Middle Earth
Mortal Kombat
F1 Race Stars
Quantum Conundrum
Vanquish
Limbo

:O …. HOW did you manage to secure all this?!
Sleeping Dogs was an amazing game, still playing it now in fact. I’m defiantly going to try Mass Effect 3 – I wasn’t interested enough to pay for it, but seeing as I got PS+, im defiantly going to take advantage of at least one of the new Instant Game collections every month!

Hey, thank you for the great PS Plus update. I haven’t got any of the games so I’m pretty happy.
Also any word on when The Walking Dead will come to New Zealand? It was recently classified so it should be soon? And will there be any discounts with or without PS Plus? Since we’ve been waiting for like a year, I say we deserve it.
Posted on 25 February, 2013 at 9:39 am by Chris Howe
There will be some discounts on it in March

…well that kinda sucks, the only one Im interested in (MGS HD) is Vita only and not crossbuy =/.
Also to anyone saying it is, Mass Effect is not an RPG, its a shooter with light RPG elements o_o…I would not be surprised in any way if you had hoardes of disgruntled RPG fans complaining about the fact th
at they still only get shooters :p.Would have loved for the Vita to get Joe Danger 2 (as it looks crap), a wasted month of plus I fear =\.
It seems very strange that Mass Effect 3 is getting a PS+ discount if its also free…unless you meant the DLC. Or a ME2+3 bundle.

Another amazing month guys, thanks a lot
Can you confirm if MGS HD is vita only, or cross platform?
I have MGS HD anyway, but just to clear it up.
Also, can we perhaps look forward to Okami HD or Persona 4 next month?
Posted on 25 February, 2013 at 9:43 am by Chris Howe
MGS HD is VITA only it does have cross play functionality but you will need to buy the PS3 version

Chris, any intention of dropping the whole MGS HD collection (pretty sure the PSP ones got a PS3 remake) when Phantom Pain comes out? (even if its not MGS 5 thatd be pretty amusing tbh) Let the Vita owners get the less good games when you have to give one a good game and the others bad >_>.

Just a follow up to your question Chris, i personally would love some new Lego games to be put up, they are great games but i have been put of buying them since they nearly all glitch and thus mess up any trophy progression you have made, but if they were to be given out on PS+ i would still try my hardest to get through

Hi Chris, Thanks so much for taking the time out to answer so many of these questions. To answer one of your earlier questions back at us – YES! We should definitely get some Lego Batman in here. One more game I am dying to play and would love to see on IGC for no other reason than the number of people it would bring into multiplayer would be Red Dead and Tokyo Jungle.
Thanks again, and thanks for another amazing month!

The only thing I am regretting is only having a ps vita and not a ps3, ps plus is still more than worth it even if you just one of the two. This is an amazing service!
