Defiance – Ark Hunter Chronicles episode 4

Welcome back to the Ark Hunter Chronicles, an animated video series detailing the lives of three characters living in the world of Defiance, a massive online third person shooter coming to PlayStation 3 worldwide on 2nd April.

In our fourth Ark Hunter episode, titled “All In Your Head”, our mysterious female Ark Hunter takes in Begbie and Drifter and introduces them to the wonders (and trials) of the Environmental Guardian Online – aka EGO – that is so crucial to giving Ark Hunters the abilities and skills that will keep them alive in the world as they hunt for Arktech.

As you play an Ark Hunter in-game, already equipped with an EGO, you are spared the ordeal of having a unit implanted at the nape of your neck but as you can see from the video, it isn’t a pleasant experience.

This episode doesn’t just give insight into how Ark Hunters have a leg up in Defiance: it shows what it takes to make it in the world of 2046 and what Begbie and Drifter (and our mysterious narrator) have given up and endured in order to reap the rewards.
