Where can a series like God of War go after the epic finale of God of War III? Back to its roots, that’s where, and in prequel God of War: Ascension – which stars as Game of the Week in Access TV episode 73 – the series fleshes out Kratos’ past without sacrificing any of the screen-shuddering scale we’ve all become accustomed to. If anything there’s even more. More enemies, more climactic battles, more ripping heads off mythical man-goats with your bare hands – it’s all there and is typically awesome.
Also in the show this week is a behind-the-scenes look at Irrational Games, the Boston-based developer behind upcoming PS3 shooter BioShock Infinite.
We have a lengthy chat with creative director Ken Levine and his team about their creative processes, plus there’s also an amazing Big Daddy statue in the studio foyer. Don’t miss it.
If that’s not enough, we send Access TV camera-man and survival expert Dan Read off to a field somewhere to learn how to shoot a bow like Lara Croft. Also contains zip-lining, fire-making and lots of mud.
As always there’s all the latest news in PlayStation Briefing – including a look at the upcoming Star Trek tie-in – plus a roundup of all the week’s best content from the PlayStation Store. Check out the video preview for Access TV episode 73 right here. Enjoy the show!

I’m not a Trekkie but having heard & seen info on the upcoming game I’m hoping it’ll be moderately decent.
They’ve got Kirk & Spocks actual actors to do the voices & the co-op sounds intriguing. I saw an achievement which mentioned ship battles.

It’d be quite nice if Access TV episodes can be watched with english subtitles for Deaf gamers like myself.

@ Rob Pearson
Did you all notice access tv episodes have stoped on this blog since ep 68 and now since last week access tv episode 72 on psn are realy fools saying 5 reasons why PS4 is amazing?
The people’s choice 5 reasons why PS4 will be worse than PS3
1. No Backwards Capabilities.
2. No DvD or CD playable not even transfer.
3. PS4 will just be like the PS Vita won’t sell well.
4. PS4 Online will be a monthly payment to play PS4 games
5. GaiKai In The PS4 will steal money for Streaming games that we already own.
Good luck trying to transfer those PSN games/DLC to PS4 as that will never happen (FACT) Plus nobody is interested in watching silly fools at Access TV no more WE ARE GAMERS NOT COMEDIANS SO PACK UP and cancel Access TV for good.

Will Access report on ‘God of War: Ascension’ being riddled with major game breaking bugs? Not just glitches or irritants, but seriously huge save game and profile destroying bugs?
Or more prepaid advertising from the publishers?
