The PlayStation Store Egg Hunt starts today

Blog_EasterEggHunt_EN

Hello everyone. It’s getting dangerously close to that time of year where we all start to count how many chocolate eggs we can eat in one sitting, and then feeling deeply unwell afterwards. So, what better way to cure that feeling than with some great games!

Now as tradition reminds us, you should have to hunt for your treats at this time of year. With that in mind, PlayStation Store is very happy to present our Egg Hunt!

Much like the 12 Deals of Christmas promotion late last year, each of these discounts will be revealed just before they go live and will last for 48 hours only, starting today, Wednesday 27th March. Make sure you keep checking the Blog for information on the next deal!

But that’s not all! At the same time as the Egg Hunt we will also be running our Spring Sale so make sure you head over to the PlayStation Store to grab yourself some bargains. These discounts will start once the store has updated on Wednesday 27th March and will run until 9th April. Enjoy!

[sarcasm] OH MAN, THANK YOU FOR PUTTING ALL THOSE VITA GAMES ON SALE! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! [/sarcasm]

cosmic_uk 27 March, 2013 @ 11:05 am   2

As I just bought a Vita, I was also a little disappointed with the lack of Vita games in the Spring Sale. Hopefully there will be something good in the Easter Egg Hunt.

ITACHI_U________ 27 March, 2013 @ 11:06 am   3

Seriously, only one ps vita game on sale??

The spring sale selection isn’t great, full of badly reviewed games and DLC for badly reviewed games so I’m hoping all the good stuff is in the Easter Egg Hunt. Killzone+inFamous bundle looks like a good deal but I already have inFamous so I’ll pass. Hoping for a sale on Harley Quinn’s Revenge :-D

infernalmonkey1 27 March, 2013 @ 11:09 am   5

Scrolling past all that PS3 stuff to see one single Vita game was hilarious.

Will get Steel Dragon EX though, cheers!

Wooow! One game for Vita! Seriously????

Splutterbug 27 March, 2013 @ 11:11 am   7

oooh so tempted by Persona 2 and 3

Nightmare966 27 March, 2013 @ 11:12 am   8

Hi Chris, great to see another great sale added. I do really hope there’s something for everyone as usual :)

First of all, the Egg haunting sale is available for all or most of Europe, right? Also, if I understand correctly the Egg haunt sales end on the 9th of April too, right?

Will the spring sale get more titles added? I mean, I remember you were aiming for having a sale on Journey by the end of March hopefully so… :P

Thanks for the news as usual Chris, I’ll make sure to check again the Blog on Friday :D

    Jawad Ashraf 27 March, 2013 @ 11:19 am

Chris is unfortunately somewhere he REALLY doesn’t want to be, so I’ll chime in where I can here.

The Egg Hunt will be available across Europe, yessir. There are some cracking offers lined up so definitely keep checking back.

Yes, truly great easter savings: I’m saving a lot by not buying anything.

PixelJunk games and Epic Mickey Something, come on SCEE.

BiosNova 27 March, 2013 @ 11:13 am   10

Do you know the Vita is out?

BeAkErOo 27 March, 2013 @ 11:14 am   11

C’mon Sony. Help us to help you! Give us more Vita!

toxic-inferno 27 March, 2013 @ 11:15 am   12

Thanks Sony! Spring Sale looks fantastic!!

I was SO close to picking up Child of Eden for £8 the other day! Now I can get it for under £4!! Fantastic! As a synaesthete, I’m quite intrigued by this game!

RedSquirrel87 27 March, 2013 @ 11:15 am   13

Only one game for PSVita? What a shame…

ste_the_legend 27 March, 2013 @ 11:16 am   14

It’s not as bad of a sale as people are saying. At least it’s some different games this time.

Dead Rising 2 and Trine 2 for me :D

Huono_peleis 27 March, 2013 @ 11:18 am   15

Crappiest sale ever.

Leylifer 27 March, 2013 @ 11:20 am   16

Does Killzone+Infamous bundle include Killzone’s first game only?

Temujinski 27 March, 2013 @ 11:21 am   17

I had to laugh seeing just one Vita game on sale.

Also, it would be fun to see some decent PSOne and PS2 games on sale that AREN’T Disney games; those have been on sale several times already in the past year.

Otherwise, there’s some decent stuff here, the Persona games and Child of Eden in particular. I do hope there will be more games added to the spring sale though.

BeAkErOo 27 March, 2013 @ 11:21 am   18

I will be buying Driver SF though, as long as the Aussie tax isn’t too high.

chrisy21 27 March, 2013 @ 11:24 am   19

Ugh I really want Killzone but already have infamous:FB. Why always with the bundles I have one I want and have one I already have :/

I’m sure there’s good things to come.

BeAkErOo 27 March, 2013 @ 11:24 am   20

Is there any chance that we can get some Zen Pinball 2 DLC in future sales please or better again with Plus content?

Chunker76 27 March, 2013 @ 11:25 am   21

Snipe Elite V2 – Assassinate The Führer (Not available in Austria, Germany)

Funniest moment of the morning

Thank you

TheMighty_MuMbY 27 March, 2013 @ 11:26 am   22

Urban trials discount, sweet.

Fingers crossed for Journey and unfinished swan discounts. Unfortunately i missed the christmas discount.

Also all the mass effect 3 DLC bundled discount would be perfect.

Also feel I have to stress the lack of Vita offers compared to others. A single game… which that in itself isn’t up to much.

How about price drops for the likes of Blazblue, Shinobido 2, Gungnir, Street Fighter x Tekken, Disgaea 3, Dynasty Warriors, Plants v Zombies, Escape Plan, etc.

What? I know I’m greedy. :D

DarkHeros09 27 March, 2013 @ 11:27 am   24

Jawad can you please see if you can add UMvC3 dlc to the sales???
thank you.

dark_angel69 27 March, 2013 @ 11:28 am   25

That’s a really sweet deal for the 1st Easter egg hunt. Unfortunately I already own Killzone HD and Infamous: Festival of Blood and currently playing Killzone to get that platinum as I wait for my Bioshock. lol. Great buy for those who don’t already have. They both are great games.

Cant wait to see what the next one is

OH, please add God of War 2 HD as one of the Easter Egg Hunts!

To celebrate Ascension, and all that jazz. :P

I was hoping for some extra PSP sales than basically Persona discounts and pirates (wasn’t that discounted already?)

Anyways no vita love, which is sad and strange.

Also not to many mini discounts.

Basically if you have a vita you’re out of luck.

ShivaRpgN 27 March, 2013 @ 11:40 am   28

You people are so terrible with giving sales on Vita games, what the hell is wrong with you? First you totally butcher Christmas deals by totally ignoring the Vita, then you promise you’ll make up for it on Vita’s first anniversary which was a total joke. It had games on sale that have been on sale numerous times and seem to find it difficult to provide games that are more recent and ones that people want. Whilst North America had a Christmas sale, had Vita’s anniversary with 2 consecutive weeks of more recent games and games that people want. And it doesn’t end! They keep having good deals!

I’m tired of you keeping on making excuses as for why you can’t get it done. Vita gets ONE deal for Easter. That’s not only less than what the PS3 gets, but even PSP, PS2, PS1 and Minis (freaking Minis gets better treatment!). Why are you treating Vita consumers like they don’t exist?

Kaspar_K 27 March, 2013 @ 11:40 am   29

Would really like to see a sound shapes discount. :)

I’d like to take advantage of these discounts, but i can’t with infamous Singstar icon/ad in my XMB. So Fred, Jawad, Chris…. maybe you overlooked all my previous posts, but statisticaly it could happen so it’s OK (for now). Could you please finally answer me to things which i can’t logicaly understand?

1. How making Singstar icon optional can negatively affect customers “who appreciate it as is and who take advantage of this free game”?

2. Is there any logical reason why does your company permanently refuse to make Singstar icon optional? Nobody can’t understand that, unless you want to lose customers on purpose.

3. Can somebody from SCEE finally understand that we only want one simple harmless option? We demand freedom of choice. Without freedom of choice we’re going towards dictatorship.

Please, help us to return our confidence to your company. Thanks.

MordecaiHunter 27 March, 2013 @ 11:44 am   31

I See Sony still doing there best to make the vita more off a success
.smh….

on a better note there are some good deals on the ps3 front ill pick up Realms of Ancient War at that price

Hi Jawad, sorry for off topic but can you check what is going on with Bioshock Infinite Season Pass? I reedmed the code and everytime I try to download this Season Pass nothing happens. :( Please help thank you.

Gutted. Can’t deny its a great sale, but the only game i’ve waiting to go on sale for months finally has but in a double pack with a game I already own :(

Will we ever get Killzone HD on its own in a sale?

:(

meteors77 27 March, 2013 @ 11:46 am   34

Can we please have the Colony Wars games for PSOne put onto the store? I’d love to play them on again, especially on my Vita. There are far too few spaceship battle games, please make it happen!

ShivaRpgN 27 March, 2013 @ 11:48 am   35

When will we ever get deals on Sine Mora, Silent Hill Book of Memories, Assassin’s Creed Liberation, Orgarhythm, Little King’s Story, Disgaea 3, Dynasty Warriors Next, Retro City Rampage, Let’s Fish Hooked On and more among others?

And I don’t mean weak deals to shut people up, but at least 40% discount! I’m losing so much patience as a Vita owner. You’re so behind with satisfying those consumers.

Aces73High 27 March, 2013 @ 11:49 am   36

I love my Vita, but I have to chime in and say that one Vita game on sale is pretty bad form.

Also, I take it there are no new Vita games when the store updates today? The US blog gets ‘The Drop’ every single Monday without fail, detailing every new game, demo and sale that’ll be included in the following days US store update. Us EU gamers, we have to trawl through every article, scrapping for any tiny tidbits of news. Take Machinarium for example. It was announced a week or two back for the US, and launched yesterday. And us? Not a single paragraph of sentence anywhere!!?? I spoke to two of the guys at Amanita Design (the studio behind Machinarium), and even they have no idea when it will hit Europe. Poor show EU Blog. Poor show.

    Fred Dutton 27 March, 2013 @ 12:00 pm

Yes, there are a number of Vita titles out today. We have a regular post at 3pm every Wednesday detailing every single new release for the week. We’d like to bring it to you earlier in the week but it’s just not possible. The US only has a couple of territories – and one language – to manage whereas SCEE has a huge number of different countries to organise, and the post has to appear in a number of different languages. Duly, the process of putting the information together takes a little longer.

Machinarium is coming soon to PS Vita, but a release date hasn’t yet been finalised. When it has, we’ll let you know immediately.

DiscworldDeath 27 March, 2013 @ 11:50 am   37

Generations of Chaos doesn’t link to the right store page, because the first half of the name is missing. Here is the actual link: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-il/cid=EP4015-NPEH00106_00-AEDISECLIPSE0000

PIREDERAS 27 March, 2013 @ 11:50 am   38

The Easter Egg Hunt promotion is welcome, although the first offer (Killzone HD & Infamous: Festival of Blood) doesn’t appeal to me. Hope the future offers will be better. And please, if possible, some PS Vita offers in the Easter Egg Hunt!

Regarding the Full Spring Sale, not much for me. Trine 2 is a very good deal, and I’ ll consider Child of Eden and Rayman 3 HD, too.

Come on people, this sale isn’t that bad. There are good enough prices to tempt me for games that I’d otherwise ignore as Persona 3, Child of Eden, Driver and Realms of Ancient War.

Not sure though if I will buy any of those. Haven’t even started P4G yet, CoE isn’t really my kind of game and the reviews for RoAW seem … less favorable.

@Chris @Jawad
I guess we won’t see the first easter egg in Germany then?
Killzone HD was in our store once, was taken back then and never came back. Any reason for that?

    Jawad Ashraf 27 March, 2013 @ 11:56 am

You will see it in Germany :D The status of Killzone HD has changed, so now it’s available to our German audience.

Nightmare966 27 March, 2013 @ 11:51 am   40

@Golwar: Killzone HD is not on the spanish Store neither, just looked for it before to see the normal price. I guess this happened for everyone.

link1983 27 March, 2013 @ 12:00 pm   41

This is the best sale I have seen since Christmas 2010. I have Pixeljunk 4am (I reviewed it) but none of the others so Pixel Junk Shooter 1 and 2 is definitely on my list. I am gonna say goodbye to my disc copy of Child of Eden and hello digital. I just can’t wait to have the required funds for all of this goodness :D Many thanks Chris

That’s an awful selection… That’s the FULL spring sales list?
Vita didn’t get any love and all JRPGs are PSP ones.
Let’s hope something nice will come up on easter eggs.

MASPALOMAZ 27 March, 2013 @ 12:05 pm   43

this vita spam in the comments is getting ridiculous, 90% here dont even have a vita and dont care for it, is this always the same person spamming with multiple accounts?

@ blog team please do something about it, or make a seperate VITA blog i do not even visit this blog anymore because of the constant vita spam. The vita will be discontinued anyways so please STOP SPAMMING VITA NEWS and vita blog comments, kindly delete those users or remove their access to comment.

@Topic.. Some good games in the offer, thanks. Also looking forward to the next days with more offers :)

Defiance pre order ?

TheMighty_MuMbY 27 March, 2013 @ 12:10 pm   46

@chris @jawad

Any info if journey/ unfinished swan will be in the sale? or mass effect dlc?

Will there be any visual clues for the egg hunt sale when the store updates like the christmas sale.

Will anymore be added to the spring sale (not egg hunt)?
