Hello everyone. It’s getting dangerously close to that time of year where we all start to count how many chocolate eggs we can eat in one sitting, and then feeling deeply unwell afterwards. So, what better way to cure that feeling than with some great games!

Now as tradition reminds us, you should have to hunt for your treats at this time of year. With that in mind, PlayStation Store is very happy to present our Egg Hunt!

Much like the 12 Deals of Christmas promotion late last year, each of these discounts will be revealed just before they go live and will last for 48 hours only, starting today, Wednesday 27th March. Make sure you keep checking the Blog for information on the next deal!

But that’s not all! At the same time as the Egg Hunt we will also be running our Spring Sale so make sure you head over to the PlayStation Store to grab yourself some bargains. These discounts will start once the store has updated on Wednesday 27th March and will run until 9th April. Enjoy!

Check back regularly to find out what the next deal will be!

I’d have been very interested in Spec Ops. But DNF? Seriously?
I thought those easter eggs are about selling the best content for great prices, not about promoting shovelware.

So in case you didn’t get the message: Worst bundle idea ever!

neokillerandre6 2 April, 2013 @ 12:11 pm   2

Chris, could you tell us when is the egg hunt going to end?

MafiaCub 2 April, 2013 @ 12:12 pm   3

Yeah, not kidding, Duke Nukem can be brought brand new for £5, Spec ops for about £12

This is a terrible deal. The other deals, I’ve thought they were all decent. But this one, not so much. No way would this bundle be worth the £65 you claim was it’s original price, and at £20 on sale, It’s pretty much still only priced fair.

Oh well, 2 more days with money in my account. I’m sure something awesome will show up.

hilts663 2 April, 2013 @ 12:12 pm   4

Horrible bundle! Shame on you!!! Good game + [DELETED] one? Isnt it obvious? Scammers

MafiaCub 2 April, 2013 @ 12:14 pm   5

Neokiller I guess it runs til April 9th, like the sale? Although there seems to be 12 eggs on the Egg Hunt screen of the PSN Store, so 22 days from the start of the sale, which puts us at like the 17th April.

ssorc_bro 2 April, 2013 @ 12:17 pm   6

Yeah, kinda agree with the others, not a great bundle, Spec Ops is a great game no doubt, but at £20 ? Not a great ‘sale’ at all.

Delboi173 2 April, 2013 @ 12:17 pm   7

unrelated but is the playstation plus blog not in use anymore? having issues trying to find what new content is coming up :(

phoReality 2 April, 2013 @ 12:18 pm   8

Is there any chance for Vita offer?

Totally agree with Golwar would have been interested, but adding duke nukem to the package and calling it a deal is just insulting. If you had sold them both for £10 I would have picked up spec ops as I’ve heard nothing but praise for its story and also the fact that it stars everyone’s favourite Nolan North. Might go and look online now for the disc version instead.

eddibhoy 2 April, 2013 @ 12:19 pm   10

I paid £4 for dnf brand new off of amazon.it was overpriced…

willbillbill 2 April, 2013 @ 12:21 pm   11

Fudge I’ve been packing up my stuff as I’m moving country so I’ve been offline for a few days I would of snapped up Tomb Raider at that price it looks like a great game that I need to get very soon!

cosmic_uk 2 April, 2013 @ 12:27 pm   12

Spec Ops was part of the PS+ update for March in the US, so don’t see why it won’t be part of the EU line up soon.

How about a dedicated deal for Vita? Not including PSASBR (which many people also speculate about being part of PS+ soon).

I topped up my wallet for this sale. So far gone unused..

MordecaiHunter 2 April, 2013 @ 12:29 pm   13

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/03/19/defiance-ps-plus-exclusive-beta-and-launch-discount/

whats going on with this its on the store today at £49.99 But with no plus discount as stated in the link above

STUPID_DAD 2 April, 2013 @ 12:30 pm   14

Any news on the defiance plus discount that was promised

MASPALOMAZ 2 April, 2013 @ 12:35 pm   15

thanks for the update. looking forward to the next 3 deals :)

tc’s-ghost-recon-future-soldier is also still without the plus discount, not that it really matters i will probably wait til its under 10. have enough games to play anyways :)

i sometimes wonder if in the barbie online shop as many little girls complain about the newest barbie offers?? :D

NOSAJ19 2 April, 2013 @ 12:37 pm   16

Hi Chris. Any chance of any PS Vita deals, such as Sumioni: Demon Arts, Retro City Rampage, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath Oddbox, Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable, etc… Also, where is the Unfinished Swan offer?

MordecaiHunter 2 April, 2013 @ 12:38 pm   17

Defiance is now discounted now at £39.99 thanks

randellaUK 2 April, 2013 @ 12:38 pm   18

Do we know why there are issues with updating patches and downloads on pSN as ive been 2weeks and cannot download anything or patch games but getting no answer on here twitter or anywhere?

TeamB_Bio 2 April, 2013 @ 12:40 pm   19

Cool

1: Killzone HD. Not a great port, but for fans a good price.
2: TR. The only really worthy easter egg so far.
3: PSASBR – we’ve seen that often enough.
4: DNF – When a weak sale turned into a disgrace. :P

It’s just the same old SCEE failures all over again. Why not offer contents separately and additionally a bundle with a better price?
Even worse: When we see a separation, the bundle price is usually worse then purchasing all parts on their own. Maths, eh?
And we see the same content again and again, though that got a bit better lately. So at least some criticism seems to result in improvements.

But really, it’s a looooong way to go till I’d consider SCEE sales good enough.
What freaks me out is that the Publishers cooperate with all those digital PC stores, offering far better sales there. So I have to credit SCEE and only SCEE for their lack of imagination, which is a shame considering the obvious status of Steam sales all over the game industry.
Hell, even Ross McGrath lately complimented Gamersgate for their fabulous Bioshock Infinite preorder bonuses, with Bioshock 1, Xcom and Spec Ops for free! With 30% Cashback!

And SCEE offers Spec Ops and DNF for 25€ … well, what could be wrong there?

VirusPT 2 April, 2013 @ 12:45 pm   21

Is the Plus discount for Ghost Recon active again?

any chance of getting battlefield 3 premium on the sale and aliens colonial marines and doom 3 bf3 and fallout 3,nv dlc

that was meant to be doom bfg edtion not bf3

Paquete89 2 April, 2013 @ 12:51 pm   24

Oh, that’s just unfortunate. I had a feeling spec ops would be on sale, and I was excited, been wanting to get it for a long time, maybe at 15-20€. But i will not pay an extra € for DNF. Why 2K would let this bundle happen is beyond me. Oh well, better luck next time.

And I agree, even though ai don’t have a vita, vita owners deserve their own amazing deal

BBear_27 2 April, 2013 @ 12:58 pm   25

That’s a shame, a vita title would be awesome, virtua tennis 4? :-)

ridwaano 2 April, 2013 @ 1:02 pm   26

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, error instal it! after 15%,
this error came up (c2-12383-7)
Please can you fix it?
it work´s fine with my ps3, but not ps vita :/

    Fred Dutton 2 April, 2013 @ 2:13 pm

Yes, the Store team is working on this right now. I’ll update you soon.

Im just chipping in to agree with most of the above comments….

Adding the Duke to any bundle just drops the “want” value.
I actually am keen on Spec ops, but this is definitly not selling the idea.

Any chance we will get Wrecked revenge Revisted to ZA? Since its still not listed as it wont be available.

I will buy that special in a heartbeat….. if i could…..

jonnysim 2 April, 2013 @ 1:15 pm   28

I got dnf for £3.30 new on amazon can’t be that bad right. who am i kidding lol & I’ve looked today its £4.34. the Xbox version is £9.74 that’s from amazon

supersmith2500 2 April, 2013 @ 1:20 pm   29

Hate to say this. DNF plays much better on PC and has a patch where you can carry 4 weapons instead of just 2 and the console ports does not have that double weapon limit increase. Please add some Vita games soon.

Shinobi-vs-Gast 2 April, 2013 @ 1:20 pm   30

Man why this bundle? I would love to buy Spec Ops, I’ve already completed this awesome game twice op pc.
But I don’t want to buy neither play Duke Nukem. :S

VirusPT 2 April, 2013 @ 1:27 pm   31

Fred, how about the PS Plus discount for Ghost Recon?

NightRanma 2 April, 2013 @ 1:35 pm   32

So what’s that, roughly $30 Australian? I think I’ll pass. I already own Duke Nukem Forever, and I’ve seen better deals for Spec Ops, though I want to play it. I guess I’ll just wait to see if we get it free on PS+ like the Americans did.

Throwing in my vote for giving something to us Vita owners.

hilts663 2 April, 2013 @ 1:45 pm   33

Hehe, one of the worst bundles ever…

Xandrilios 2 April, 2013 @ 1:54 pm   34

Why not add Call of Duty Declassified? (Regarding DNF, not Spec Ops)

Tagged_Deaf 2 April, 2013 @ 2:01 pm   35

Well, you can’t always pleasure everyone, can you?

Spec Ops is a great game and certainly worth £20 alone for it. But I already owned it.

But DNF? Not very good, in fact. It sucked.

But at least they did put out Tomb Raider for £20 which is the obvious best egg out of all so far.

Looking forward what they get to offer in two days!

Jamesyp00 2 April, 2013 @ 2:07 pm   36

Spec Ops is a title every should play at least twice much like biohsock infinite, but the fact it’s bundled here with DNF makes it seem cheap and awful and the fact it was right on PS+ in america last month!

Lunastra78 2 April, 2013 @ 2:09 pm   37

Demon’s Souls is coming to US PS Plus IGC, any chance of seeing this in Europe too?

Already got the Plat for the US version, but for this game I’d do it again!

    Fred Dutton 2 April, 2013 @ 2:12 pm

No plans at present I’m afraid. Fantastic game, and well worth it at any price!

JadoreSox 2 April, 2013 @ 2:21 pm   38

I think this egg should of remained hidden.

Brodiesan 2 April, 2013 @ 2:30 pm   39

As much as I want to pick up Spec Ops, I’m not going to bite. I did on Sleeping Dogs when it was part of the Christmas sale only for it to go free as part of PS+ a few weeks later. Felt very burned by SCEE on that one.

I’m going to wait for Spec Ops to be bundled with the IGC like it is for NA. I recommend everyone does the same.

DiscworldDeath 2 April, 2013 @ 2:53 pm   40

Fred, I can’t see Generation of Chaos in the store. I posit it’s because I live in Israel, but the game is not marked as being unavailble anywhere.

ssorc_bro 2 April, 2013 @ 2:53 pm   41

Slightly off-topic.. the Vita games currently in the Plus IGC.. when are you planning on changing out Uncharted and Gravity Rush ? Thanks.

procion 2 April, 2013 @ 3:32 pm   42

CAN WE HAVE OUR OLD STORE BACK? PLEASE?

I would go into that new mess that has become the PSN Store, but it’s become frustrating to try to navigate around, slow to load, difficult to like, mess. For example I just spent 15 minutes TRYING to search the Dead Rising 2 Game Page therein. Why did you feel the need to change and “fix” what was not even broken in the first place? Why have you forced this new worst not better, mess onto us? I didn’t ask to have my favourite online store become untenable. At least give us the use of the better store that we know and love and actually used to buy from if we want to stay using that. i.e. CHOICE. It seems you had to make and ruin that for us. I honestly find this new experience a brick wall in my face to actually getting access to what I want to buy and play. Put it back please…

Darkos87 2 April, 2013 @ 3:37 pm   43

Spec Ops the line is an amazing game, loved the story in that one.

DNF- have no reason to buy that game… ever.

neutronbomb 2 April, 2013 @ 3:39 pm   44

Any chance of Persona 4 for Vita?

The Easter bunny sure left something on my lawn with offer number 4 and it sure ain’t a easter egg!!!

Jokes aside, first off before I berate PSN efforts, I just wanted to thank you guys for making PS Plus should a shining win in my books and hopefully a financial plus in yours. I am loving ever minute of it.

However, this Easter hunt has been a real waste of time, you guys are putting up all the unopened eggs on the store page…but only 4 more specials to go. The massive 48 wait between the eggs hatching is just too long and after the first two offers I just got plain bored of waiting around to see what is next. Your really should have hatched an egg every 24hrs and run the special for 48hrs. offer number 4 is also a real stinker by the way, however your fantastic offer on Tomb Raider is a real deal!!! Lets hope ps vita gets a bit of love and you hatch us a special in the last 4 eggs (Persona 4 Golden, Ragnarok Odssey at reduced prices perhaps ;) )

Keep up the great effort and work guys, remember you have alot of fans who love what PSN is doing.

saishyam001 2 April, 2013 @ 4:24 pm   46

Hi Chris,
It would be great to get discount on move games like sports champions 2.

Carnivius_Prime 2 April, 2013 @ 4:25 pm   47

crud. Have I missed Playstation All Stars? that’s one of the games I was tempted to get when price reduced. ugh. typical. None of the other games so far have appealed to me…

supersmith2500 2 April, 2013 @ 4:25 pm   48

@Xandrilios:
Oh god no. It’s even worse than DNF. D=

PanaSlayer 2 April, 2013 @ 4:27 pm   49

Lol. DNF. Lol. I’m not gonna complain really, but DNF? LOL!!! :-P

Spec Ops is a great game from what I hear though! If people don’t mind paying for DNF as well to get it, then more power to them.

XzSlLENTSNIPERzX 2 April, 2013 @ 4:38 pm   50

I would’ve bought Spec Ops if DNF wasn’t included. Why would I want one of the biggest let-downs in recent years? Seriously, stop bundling games together. I would’ve bought Infamous and Spec Ops if they were individually sold.

Oh well, more money for me I guess.

Dermado 2 April, 2013 @ 4:46 pm   51

Was £65 and will be so again after the “sale” is over =D.
Dont you just love SCEE and their terribly high prices, awful sales and late releases ^_^.

@Dermado
Yeah, it’s as if they’d desperately try to confirm:
“See those sales? Yes, it’s us! Your dear old SCEE that’ll never learn and keep delivering the same horrors for years to come.”

Really wouldn’t surprise me if we’d see more such terrific bundles in the future.
You want a Ni No Kuni sale? Sure! Just buy it together with Aliens: Colonial Marines and pay 50€! Isn’t that amazing?
Maybe they’d show mercy and bundle it with The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct for 30€.

*sigh*

PIREDERAS 2 April, 2013 @ 5:16 pm   53

Come on guys, I ‘m sure you can offer something better than Duke Nukem! The Tomb Raider and PS All Star Battle Royale offers were much better! Hope the next offers are on par with some great past ones, like Sleeping Dogs (which cost me just €18 back in December, but soon after it was free on the IGC, but whatever…).

sammy9005 2 April, 2013 @ 6:18 pm   54

no metal gear solid ps one classic or any vita game -_-

theJJ88 2 April, 2013 @ 6:19 pm   55

DNF? You guys are hilarious, this is one amazing April Fool’s- no wait, it was yesterday and you’re serious? This might be the Worst Bundle (for)Ever. =D Cheers to it, atleast we had good laughs on this one!

ChilliOne 2 April, 2013 @ 6:29 pm   56

Hi Fred,

Im sure you have already picked out the next 4 offers for the Egg hunt but some ideas for discounts:-

Assassins Creed 3
I know you can get this for £18-20 anyway so the core game is cheap enough, but a deal with all the dlc would be good.

GTA 4 – again be good to see a “complete” deal with all the DLC.

Journey/Unfinished Swan Double pack.

And just generally be good to see a DLC sale with content such as Mass Effect 3, Black Ops, Dead Or Alive, Fifa etc?

BluSpykz 2 April, 2013 @ 6:45 pm   57

A lot of hate for DNF; but neither that or Spec Ops are my cup of tea.

Tomb Raider was the best discount I’ve seen in a long while – but again, not my thing so I skipped it.

Hoping perhaps for an Escape Plan Collection, Ninja Gaiden (squiggle)2 PLUS/NGS+ bundle, or Strangers Wrath HD/Doctor Who bundle (Vita) discount please.

yaureUK 2 April, 2013 @ 6:56 pm   58

Wish there are more games for the egg hunt, 1 game every 2 days is not enough. and… Duke Nukem :(

Think someone there forgot that April fools day was yesterday!

ChilliOne 2 April, 2013 @ 7:06 pm   60

I expect that DNF was just a freebe thrown in by 2K games but given the good quality of some of their back catalogue of games there could have been something better than that, even something 2-3 years old

Gareth1979 2 April, 2013 @ 8:24 pm   61

Glad to hear the All Stars Vita issue is being fixed

Asmerith 2 April, 2013 @ 8:29 pm   62

All these comments are focusing on Duke Nukem but Spec Ops was actually one of the best games of 2012 in terms of the game design and themes it put across. Maybe not the best shooter mechanics but the overall game itself definitely makes up for that. Even if you people don’t choose to get this bundle I’d definitely recommend getting Spec Ops some time and playing through it at least once

Denzelio 2 April, 2013 @ 8:47 pm   63

Would be nice if Lego Batman 2 on ps3 could eventually go on sale, if that could be bundled with Lego Lord of the Rings on ps3 that would sure be something!, it would even be a bundle that kids could enjoy playing.

ChilliOne 2 April, 2013 @ 9:00 pm   64

@Asmerith

Absolutely right, am considering getting Spec Ops anyway as have heard great things about story (although will buy physical copy as can get online for £16-17)
I think maybe people are a bit shocked that something as bad as Duke Nukem is offered! I have a reasonably high tolerable for poor games as long as there is some fun to be had…but it is truly dreadful.

Terarded 2 April, 2013 @ 9:19 pm   65

kind of disappointing ive seen duke nukem in stores for 2$ as an attempt to get someone to buy it. and the other one i dont know anything about but i know its always being offered for free on something (ps plus, steam etc)

ChilliOne 2 April, 2013 @ 9:27 pm   66

Does anyone know if this version includes the Fubar pack?

IkarluxI 2 April, 2013 @ 11:23 pm   67

Where is the new DLC’s of NARUTO SHIPPUDEN ULTIMATE NINJA STORM 3?

Anathema29 3 April, 2013 @ 12:44 am   68

[DELETED] There goes my hopes of Spec Ops as IGC, because I doubt SCEE would be foolish enough to make a game free soon after the Egg Hunt. We all remember the Sleeping Dogs backlash.

I always thought SCEE was better then SCEA at IGC but they are being pwned in 2013. SCEA has Spec Ops in March and Demon’s Souls in April!!! Come on SCEE, Okami HD doesn’t count (it’s a PS2 remake), where’s your dominant form? [DELETED].

I still refuse to support the PSN store after you screwed us with Sleeping Dogs. Your loss.

terrible easter egg. but my day was saved by some friends who gave me ni no kuni for my bday.
come on? cant do better than that, it’s not like there’s a lack of games to choose from. give Vita some love since the spring sale is pitiful for it.

Lord_Azi_Dahaka 3 April, 2013 @ 2:17 am   70

lol at DNF dual meaning Duke Nukem Forever and Did Not Finish both applicable here.

Any chance of Battlefield 3 Premium Edition being in this sale? EA had it on Origin a week ago for £22.49. If you could get it down to that price for PSN that’d be fantabulous!!!

ChilliOne: PSN has had a GTA IV bundle up in nearly every sale period. It’s usually been £14.99 for GTA IV, GTA IV Episodes, GTA IV + Episodes {Episodes > Ballad of gay toni and Lost & Damned)

gr0undp0und 3 April, 2013 @ 10:46 am   73

Whuhauahhauuahuauahuahuhauahuahuhahauhuahhahahuahuhauhauhuahuahuauha

Duke Nukem Forever as much as that?

No wonder some of the guys at Sony couldn’t get jobs at Microsoft.

Malteser 3 April, 2013 @ 12:17 pm   74

I would have loved Spec Ops but paired with DNF is a terrible combo – how come the guys at PSN don’t ask it’s regular users for the most wanted combos or mix and match style – I refuse to buy this simply because DNF is such a bad game. Let’s hope the next offer makes up for this mistake!

Malteser 3 April, 2013 @ 12:22 pm   75

The 12 deals of Xmas were amazing bargains and top titles – where are the latest titles this time around – Tomb Raider was a top bargain however I would like to see drops on MGS Revengeance, Aliens CM, DMC, Naruto, Crysis 3,Ni no Kuni, MLB 13, Army of Two (even though terrible reviews I’d play it at bargain price). Come on PSN – make it happen!

andrew30101978 3 April, 2013 @ 1:17 pm   76

Hi i puchased the playstation all stars battle royal deal. As reported here on the blog and to customer services. When the will store team fix game

theJJ88 3 April, 2013 @ 7:05 pm   77

Hello? Anyone? What happened to Spring Sale, ain’t 9th yet?…

It seems as if the customers are generally quite clear about the value of this “offer”.

The charts:
11. Tomb Raider
42. PSASBR
69. Killzone HD + inFAMOUS Festival of Blood

Spec Ops + DNF isn’t anywhere in the top 300.

Any gamer could have told you that. But somewhere one manager thought that he’d be oh so smart, eh? Well the numbers prove the opposite. :-P

hilts74 4 April, 2013 @ 7:50 am   79

As has been asked many times before –

when will the PS Vita download for the PSABR Egg-Hunt purchase be fixed?

It is outrageous that I bought this several days ago and still cannot install it!

Please advise
