Hello everyone. It’s getting dangerously close to that time of year where we all start to count how many chocolate eggs we can eat in one sitting, and then feeling deeply unwell afterwards. So, what better way to cure that feeling than with some great games!

Now as tradition reminds us, you should have to hunt for your treats at this time of year. With that in mind, PlayStation Store is very happy to present our Egg Hunt!

Much like the 12 Deals of Christmas promotion late last year, each of these discounts will be revealed just before they go live and will last for 48 hours only, starting today, Wednesday 27th March. Make sure you keep checking the Blog for information on the next deal!

But that’s not all! At the same time as the Egg Hunt we will also be running our Spring Sale so make sure you head over to the PlayStation Store to grab yourself some bargains. These discounts will start once the store has updated on Wednesday 27th March and will run until 9th April. Enjoy!

Check back regularly to find out what the next deal will be!

+ It’s not a bundle
+ It’s game that hasn’t been in a sale before
+ Price is okay

- It is Doom 3
;)

Mattbrad 8 April, 2013 @ 12:09 pm   2

Just want to add a little bit of constructive criticism. No offense intended what so ever. But iv got to say that overall this sale has been really poor. The tomb raider offer was probably the only one that intrested me because the price was below the retail value. All the other offers were expensive in terms of the value of the game. Doom 3 retails at around £10. Assassins Creed 3 around £20. Spec ops around £10 and duke nukeum around £4. I know you dont decided the price but surely you can reject the offer in favor of another one? I was really pleased with the 12 Christmas offers but this one has been a real let down.

ptarginouk 8 April, 2013 @ 12:10 pm   3

Aside from Tomb Raider, this offers weren’t nearly as good as the Christmas deals. Disappointing.

kainarchy 8 April, 2013 @ 12:11 pm   4

meh, I had more fun with the christmass sale, glad i got Tomb Raider for a ‘descent’ price. Im a little bit dispointed atm, glad ps+ still gives nice stuff. But those sales…

hilts663 8 April, 2013 @ 12:12 pm   5

I hope this is joke… PATHETIC “Egg hunt”!!! 9 years old game for 20 euros (thanks to retarded exchange rate in Czech Store)

phoReality 8 April, 2013 @ 12:12 pm   6

[sarcarm] Thanx for Vita-offers [/sarcarm]

supersmith2500 8 April, 2013 @ 12:15 pm   7

Stick to the original DooM 3. It is more scarier and more fun than the BFG Edition and not to mention, DooM II’s super secret levels were heavily censored and the sound pitch quality on both DooM I & II is just horrible. Oh and the medikits were changed just like in the console version of Wolf 3D. :(

tarsanell 8 April, 2013 @ 12:17 pm   8

Any chance we could get Journey or Unfinished Swan on sale again? I thought it was going to be included in the hunt.

Thanks!

PIREDERAS 8 April, 2013 @ 12:19 pm   9

Doom 3? For €18? Not interested.

May I say that the Spring Sale was generally far better than the Egg Hunts? Not to mention the lovely 12 Christmas Deals.

My point of criticism is the price point of the sales on PSN. It is unacceptable, from a consumer’s point of view, to have the digital version of Far Cry 3 for example, priced normally at €70 on PSN (on sale at €45 back in Christmas), when I could purchase the retail version at about €45, even during the launch window of said game! Come on, these are digital titles, right? So why are they overpriced on PSN, compared to retail?

Jamesyp00 8 April, 2013 @ 12:24 pm   10

Welp, nothing to see here, move along people.
You can pick this up on disk for £10 too.

Bladesy 8 April, 2013 @ 12:24 pm   11

I really thought the last egg was going to be a golden egg for vita players, persona 4 golden would have been the obvious choice. Anyhow great deal on tombraider, really enjoying the game.

Noob question : How do i find out the date my ps plus sub runs out.

Thanks.

DenUrs_Be 8 April, 2013 @ 12:28 pm   12

Isn’t there one easter egg left? Really hoping for something cool…

the1free_man 8 April, 2013 @ 12:30 pm   13

Is this the BFG edition? Does it contain the expansion, the new levels and doom 1-2? Or is it just doom 3?

Huono_peleis 8 April, 2013 @ 12:38 pm   14

How about a decent sale for a change? When are you going to do something about the ridiculous DLC pricing of really old games? Take Dragon Age Origins for instance? Few hours worth of gameplay costing twice or even three times as much as the main game itself. Doesn’t make sense. Don’t you think you could actually sell them if you cut the prices?

@the1free_man
There is only the BFG edition for the PS3. So yes, it includes those levels and Doom 1+2

‘Offer 7: Doom 3′ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :D I was hoping for the ‘DOOM Classic Complete’ Collection in this sale:( Oh well.

neokillerandre6 8 April, 2013 @ 12:57 pm   17

I’m kind of disapointed at this sale, mostly because I didn’t buy tomb raider in hopes that this sale would be as good as 12 christmas deals was… but there’s nothing that can be done, so sony, if you read this comment and don’t mind accepting some advices, at least leave the best discounts for last. Sure, doom 3 is a good game, but I think everyone can agree that tomb raider and playstation all-stars battle royale were the highlights of the egg hunt

Rastamadeus 8 April, 2013 @ 1:01 pm   18

Any chance of being told what is going on with All-Stars Battle Royale in Vita? Been almost a week and a half now and still NO official explanation what is happening. Emailed Sony, told to ring them instead which I do – taking well over an hour, thanks for that – to be lied to saying the problem is fixed when it wasn’t so I had to ring again. Was apologised to and told I’d be rang back that day (Thursdy) which, unsurprisingly, didn’t happen. What is going on with the game? It really is shoddy Sony, especially as when I was looking on another part of Sony EU’s site there is page after page of people with the same problem and not one of us has been told what is going to happen. Any answers? Or will this comment get ignored?

    Fred Dutton 8 April, 2013 @ 2:03 pm

Yes, apologies for keeping you waiting. We’ve just put out a statement detailing what’s happening here. A fix is on the way this week. Full details: http://bit.ly/10ME0pu

XzSlLENTSNIPERzX 8 April, 2013 @ 1:04 pm   19

Chris, can you please organise a PS CLASSICS sale for the near future?
Thanks.

SirToxe 8 April, 2013 @ 1:09 pm   20

Doom 3? No thanks. For 18€? Absolutely not!

I’m worried. The new PS4 promises us a store that is intelligent. It knows what we want and already starts downloads before you even bought it. All that from the people who give us this poor excuse for a sale?!
Dear Sony, how can we take you serious. When forcing Singstar on our dashboard and sales for outrages prices and most of them unpopular titles. You give me the feeling that you don’t know your customers or don’t care about them. Both equally disturbing.
I like the exclusives, but that is the only thing. I can wait a few years, buy the cheaper/better/revised version of PS4 and all the exclusives I want and start my everyday consoling on the PC or next Xbox. That scenario is getting more and more appealing to me. Please prove me wrong, I want to like you but you need to give me a reason.

Aussieanima67 8 April, 2013 @ 1:40 pm   22

Hardly any vita support whatsoever. Appalling job SCEE. What an utter disgrace of a sale…

0/5

@Rastamadeus
Fred Dutton announced in the Blog Recap what happened and will be done about PASBRB for Vita.

zalwelgoedgaan 8 April, 2013 @ 2:30 pm   24

Any idea how many offers are left?

hilts663 8 April, 2013 @ 2:52 pm   25

@24 None

zalwelgoedgaan 8 April, 2013 @ 3:00 pm   26

@25

Ah, thanks. Guess the offers ended with doom, haha.

VirusPT 8 April, 2013 @ 3:01 pm   27

Chris, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is not discounted on the PS Store but should be on sale. Can you foward this to someone who can fix it? I’d like to buy before the sale ends (which is this Wedenesday)

cosmic_uk 8 April, 2013 @ 3:41 pm   28

@VirusPT #27

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record (Not available in Germany)(Expired 3rd April)
Was €14.99/£10.99, now €7.49/£5.99
Additional 10% off for Plus subscribers

JadoreSox 8 April, 2013 @ 3:44 pm   29

I’ll be avoiding the PS4 like the plague, you guys just can’t get digital distribution right at all.

NOSAJ19 8 April, 2013 @ 3:46 pm   30

Is there any chance of us seeing the Doom Complete Retro Collection released for the PS Vita? It includes all of the episodes from Doom 1, 2 and Final Doom. It would be great to play that on the PS Vita!

KylieDog 8 April, 2013 @ 4:06 pm   31

Well at least it isn’t a bundle. Bundles suck.

solarwind12 8 April, 2013 @ 4:20 pm   32

Wow, i have to say i’m impressed (and jelous) of the response the PSABR buyers are getting, IF i have read Freds comment (blog-round up) correctly, now that is how to do it, very nice.
Was going to get Doom, seeing as it’s last offer and i never got any others, would buy TR if had chance again, But apparently theres another sale starting on wednsday, so am now (again) waiting for something more suitable, hopefully.

Stonesthrow 8 April, 2013 @ 4:42 pm   33

I got Tomb raider out of it so I can’t complain. And the Walking dead sale before that is very much appreciated here too.

mugglewump 8 April, 2013 @ 4:56 pm   34

My only real gripe about this has been the lack of attention for Vita owners. The sale itself hasn’t been great but different tastes for everyone I guess and you can’t please all the people. However the lack of any decent offers for Vita owners in either the egg hunt or the Spring sale is very poor. And makes you wonder if we’ve just been left out to dry until the PS4 arrives and we get the better Remote play options that they’re promising through that.

TrIpLe-S-92 8 April, 2013 @ 6:05 pm   35

A pretty disappointing sale to be honest.

The doom 3 collection is roughly the same price as the sale version of doom 3 alone

TiagoJMC 8 April, 2013 @ 6:54 pm   36

@solarwind12 @32

Where did you read there will be another sale starting this wednesday?

sammy9005 8 April, 2013 @ 7:56 pm   37

only 2 vita games and both of them are just ports no metal gear solid ps one classic or spyro collection and there’s only one good ps1 classic on sale and thats the toy story bundle -_-

lol

disapointed =( no love for vita. i have a backlog on ps3 so now i could use some vita games.

solarwind12 8 April, 2013 @ 10:22 pm   40

@ TiagoJMC (36)
Fred mentioned a new sale starts wednsday in the blog-recap, about 5 comments down, fingers crossed i will want something outa it, should of just bought TR but it was only £5 cheaper than disc, still i hate having unspent money in wallet, usually end up wasting it on stuff i don’t end up playing.

Malteser 8 April, 2013 @ 11:28 pm   41

Well Sony/ PSN I’m bitterly disappointed with that sale, after the amazing 12 deals of Xmas this is a shoddy attempt to generate pennies. Tomb Raider was the only bargain and I waited for another top title and nothing materialised. Shame on you, especially as some comments have suggested that if the PS4 ‘ learns what the consumers like and then downloads them – then please please take note of this – loyal customers don’t like ROTTEN EGGS!

Man, was this sale poor or what. I wanted to buy something but ended up not buying a single Eater Egg. I’m really disappointed.

VirusPT 9 April, 2013 @ 11:39 am   43

Well, as for Dead Rising having expired on the 3rd of April, thanks for not letting anyone know that would happen, when it clearly said on the other Egg posts that all discount would expired on the 9th. And yet they went back modified all the posts. Couldn’t you just have said upfront that it would end on the 3rd?
One less buy for you guys and makes me question every upcoming buy I had in mind.

A-F-A-Marshal 9 April, 2013 @ 12:13 pm   44

I think there is 4 more eggs left, so you guys need to relax.

TINTINTB303 9 April, 2013 @ 12:29 pm   45

No. Going on what Fred said in other blog posts/comments sections this is the LAST egg in the sale.

@Fred If I’m wrong please correct my misinformation ;-)

Cheers

    Fred Dutton 9 April, 2013 @ 12:59 pm

Correct, this is the last offer in the Egg hunt promotion. We’ve got a brand new sale starting tomorrow though.

supersmith2500 9 April, 2013 @ 2:22 pm   46

Hope to see some ”good” Vita games in the sale tommorow not just null or just one. And please, no same games or shovelware ok?

In speaking of Japanese PSone imports when are we going to get them? I mean all we get for PS Classics this year is just shovelware no one buys.

Yeah, we need more PSX game on the store. I bought Person 2: Innocent Sin, but can’t buy Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, even though it’s available in the NA Store! Give us the games!! :)

And I hope next sale is going to be better.

Does the new sale start at 11:59? hopefully battlefield would be on sale for £20-£25, because £49.99 is out of the picture.
