||Mission Briefing||

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to carefully analyse the goods below and take advantage of their “weakened” state. All prices will drop on 10th April 2013 – you only have until 24th April 2013 before recovery takes place. Keep in mind that if you happen to be equipped with a PS Plus subscription then you’ll benefit from a further 10% reduction on all titles.

Finally, avoid being seen with an empty wallet balance!

Please note: Further briefing from HQ shows Hitman Absolution – included in the discounts below – is also landing on all EU PlayStation Plus member services as part of the Instant Game Collection from 1st May! Non PS Plus members can sign up for as little as €14.99/£11.99 and download it at no extra cost, as well as other great titles to be announced next week!

This would have been a good opportunity to throw in some PSP games? Thanks for the sale anyway and I continue to look forward to a big PSP sale like there has been previously.

    Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2013 @ 11:59 am

We may (strong “may”) have something in the near future. As usual, stick close to the blog so you don’t miss any sale announcements.

Mission accepted, great briefing commander Jawad. :)

Nightmare966 10 April, 2013 @ 11:06 am   3

OK, now, having Hitman: absolution, I game that I was considering, be part of the IGC is like making my birthday even better :D

So… Thanks a lot? :D

On the rest of the sale though, not much of a fan of shooters unfortunetely. Was wondering… wasn’t a Journey/Unfinished Swan sale coming this month…?

cowbanana 10 April, 2013 @ 11:06 am   4

So, where’s BLOPS: Declassified in the “Declassified” sale?

Lololol… I’d buy it for 5 bucks, maybe.

Great discounts…finally

Any chance of a discount on metal slug xx?

Great deals thanks.
And also thank you for the heads up on Hitman Absolution being on plus next month.

ps: FREE XMB FROM SINGSTAR.

Great sale and a very nice suprise to see Hitman:Absolution coming to PS+ for free :)

Kudos for mentioning that hitman is coming to ps plus in may. Fantastic work. Shows you care for your customers. Keep up the good work

Wow Hitman Absolution for Plus automatic Download! :)

Offtopic: isnt Guacamelee comin out on PSN today? Been waiting for it to pop up on PSN :(

    Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2013 @ 12:02 pm

Offtopic indeed, but yes. Check the webstore and it’ll be there ready and waiting :)

PIREDERAS 10 April, 2013 @ 11:15 am   11

Some questions Jawad:

1. Currently, in the “PS Plus discounts” section of the Store, there are other titles on sale, like Rainbow Moon and Soldner-X. Why not mention these sales too?

2. Thanks for the early tip that Hitman Absolution will be part of May’s IGC! When will we find out about the rest of the IGC?

3. The Declassified sale, as it currently stands, is not for my taste. Will there be more games added in the coming weeks?

4. Any more sales of any kind (PS Vita games please?!) in the next weeks?

    Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2013 @ 12:05 pm

    1. These were added last week and aren’t part of this particular promotion. Not to mention if we mentioned every discount, we’d be here a long while :O

    2. Chris will have something for you in the coming weeks.

    3. Unlikely we’ll be adding more to this campaign.

    4. Of course there will be more sales. I can’t announce anything yet but keep checking back for when we do actually reveal anything.

    Chris Howe 10 April, 2013 @ 1:38 pm

Jawad is correct, we shall have some details of the rest of the IGC content next week :)

Why no Far Cry 3? This game must be here :(

pinkplaybunny 10 April, 2013 @ 11:19 am   13

Awesome, i’ve been hoping for Hitman free on plus!

I will be picking up Crysis 1 too at that price. I wanted to play that before starting Crysis 2 which you gave us in November so this is great!

CreditDue 10 April, 2013 @ 11:22 am   14

People still playing GRAW 2 online?

Falcon1991 10 April, 2013 @ 11:23 am   15

asdfghjkl!! Hitman: A next month! Thank you :)

Blue_Boy1987 10 April, 2013 @ 11:23 am   16

Is there any chance we’ll see Dishonored
or Max Payne 3 in the instant game collection
anytime soon? From Dust would be awesome too!

    Chris Howe 10 April, 2013 @ 1:39 pm

All great games proving a little tricky to get in the IGC though, but we will keep trying

CreditDue 10 April, 2013 @ 11:26 am   17

Yeah, Max Payne 3 on PS+ would be great, or at least on sale

dogwalker4000 10 April, 2013 @ 11:28 am   18

Great work on the heads up, can’t wait for Hitman ^^

Birthday tomorrow so I may pick up one of these on the cheap :)

Carnivius_Prime 10 April, 2013 @ 11:33 am   19

Heh. I’m disappointed with Hitman Absolution being the Plus freebie of May (I don’t like it and I’m hoping the other free games will be more my thing) but I appreciate the honesty shown by saying while it’s discounted now that Plus owners should be patient and wait for it to become free.

Carnivius_Prime 10 April, 2013 @ 11:33 am   20

I say ‘plus owners’, obviously I meant ‘Plus subscribers’ but you know what I mean

DanteofSmeg 10 April, 2013 @ 11:35 am   21

second sale in a row with no vita content?
easter sale had none and now this.
Bit of a shame really.

Jawad,

Would somebody on the team be able to comment on why Vita games are rarely added to your PSN sales? It would be good to understand as many Vita owners are quite disappointed. The Easter sale was another example of little love for the Vita.

For example Unit 13, COD: Declassified, Resistance Burning Skies would have all fit the theme of this sale.

Finally thank you for the heads up on Hitman. I had purchased Jet Set Radio on the Vita only for it to come to IGC 1 month later, this restores my goodwill towards you as you are being fair to customers.

    Jawad Ashraf 10 April, 2013 @ 12:07 pm

It really depends on what we can secure at the time and sadly at this time we couldn’t nail PSP/Vita content down.

DanteofSmeg 10 April, 2013 @ 11:43 am   23

“Finally thank you for the heads up on Hitman. I had purchased Jet Set Radio on the Vita only for it to come to IGC 1 month later, this restores my goodwill towards you as you are being fair to customers.”
Completely agree a great heads up and well done for putting customers first.

MadMigsRSA 10 April, 2013 @ 11:44 am   24

Why didn’t you guys put the first 3 Hitman games into one pack and call it the Hitman HD Collection, which is how the disc release is sold as?

edwardccm 10 April, 2013 @ 11:47 am   25

Awesome sale, and thank you for the heads up on Hitman Absolution. I really appreciate you guys for going that extra mile for us.

Mishimotsu 10 April, 2013 @ 11:47 am   26

Wow, the heads up on Hitman is great news… I know you obviously made a mistake with a few things on sale before Christmas before offering them on PS+, but that’s awesome that you’re showing you have learned from their mistakes (it doesn’t seem to happen as often as it should). Have never been happier to be a fan of SCEE at the moment.

Would have loved a little on PSP of Vita as I’ve not got much time to play PS3 at the moment but have 1 hour commute either way to play PSP/Vita titles.

Thanks Jawad for the heads up on Hitman. I’ll be picking that up next month.

Could you please include following PSP/PSV games in the next sale (or IGC for Plus):
- Dokuro
- Escape Plan
- Rayman Origins
- Gensan (PSP)!!

And do you have any news on Closure, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross coming to the EU store?

supersmith2500 10 April, 2013 @ 11:49 am   28

Smart move for not including CoD games as they don’t deserve to be in the sale especially the disappointing CoD Black Ops: Declassified and Black Ops II.

Well, least there’s one game revealed for Plus next month but the problem is. I already own Hitman Absolution.

And why AGAIN is the PSVita forgotten in yet another sale?

It was forgotten with Xmas too, while USA had PSVita deals, GOOD ones like LittleBigPlanet Vita for 18 bucks for PS+ members.

Why for example isn’t Unit 13 in this declassified sale for PSVita? Not asking much, just something…

seldinhio 10 April, 2013 @ 11:53 am   30

Why do we newer see a PSP or PS Vita sale? And you need to add more PSP RPGs and we still don’t have a good horror game for PSP or PSVita on the PSN.

Aussieanima67 10 April, 2013 @ 11:54 am   31

Sweet! At last some vita titles on sale!!! Oh wait….

TINTINTB303 10 April, 2013 @ 11:55 am   32

@ MadMigsRSA

Hitman Trilogy HD
Was €29.99/£19.99, now €11.99/£9.69
Additional 10% saving for PS Plus members

Is this what you’re looking for?? ;-)

Goffeentl 10 April, 2013 @ 12:03 pm   33

As stated, a Declassified sale, without “Declassified” in it, pick a better word next time!

Nice idea that Mission Briefing. ;)
And thanks for the hint about Hitman in May, it’s appreciated.

Some good prices on the Tom Clancy titles there. I might bite.

Tagged_Deaf 10 April, 2013 @ 12:06 pm   35

OH, COME ON, MAN! N

Not another brilliant update from PS Store again and fill up my backlog!

Metal Slug 1 and 2 – £6 (Certainly plan to download later)

Some of Tom Clancy games – £10-15 for me to spend (Probably Splinter Cell collection and maybe Rainbow Vega 2)

Awesome….

And new Hitman game free next month? It’d make such a great download for gamers. Too bad I already got it while ago and it’s pretty good game.

Easter Egg deals weren’t brilliant expect for Tomb Raider but this update certainly made it up for us.

Good job!

KylieDog 10 April, 2013 @ 12:09 pm   36

Retail titles. *Yawn*

Can buy discs cheaper than the sale price 99% of the time.

PSP sale please, massive one. And no bundles!

MaxiM_82 10 April, 2013 @ 12:15 pm   37

Would you kindly add the PSP version of Metal Slug 1/2 to the sale as well? I though both PS3 and PSP versions are available for picking. I prefer playing games like that on the handheld, and it’s basically the same game anyway. Pretty please.

Mojo__Man 10 April, 2013 @ 12:16 pm   38

I know it’s been mentioned already but THANK YOU for telling your customers in advance if something is coming to PS+, so they don’t “waste” their money.

It shows you have listened to feeback and have acted positively on it.

Great stuff, and it is appreciated.

ste_the_legend 10 April, 2013 @ 12:18 pm   39

Thanks for the heads-up about Hitman Absolution going free for Plus members in Europe :)

Looking forward to it!

supersmith2500 10 April, 2013 @ 12:18 pm   40

@namseyn:
Yes it is, come to buy it now?

Voodoo341 10 April, 2013 @ 12:21 pm   41

And again….. Unfinished Swan?

    Chris Howe 10 April, 2013 @ 1:42 pm

We have something lined up for Unfinished Swan early May. Sorry we know we have been promising this for a while we just haven’t been able to nail it down but we have now! more details to come soon!

Bahamut_MW 10 April, 2013 @ 12:23 pm   42

Any chance of a gravity rush dlc discount anytime soon?
Thanks

Terarded 10 April, 2013 @ 12:23 pm   43

can i just say, thank you so much for letting us know that hitman would be in the igc next month. most playstation people would take advantage of the sale to sell as many copies before giving it away as possible and the fact that you warned us is seriously the nicest thing in the world. as soon as i saw hitman trilogy in there i considered buying it and you may have saved me money and im very grateful

i may be drunk while typing this but the gratefulness is all the same and im pretty sure i love you.

Terarded 10 April, 2013 @ 12:25 pm   44

dammit! just realised its absolution, already played that one! but still grateful! and i can still go for the platinum anyway so all good.

Splutterbug 10 April, 2013 @ 12:26 pm   45

Some great discounts, and it’s great that you are pre-warning people not to buy stuff that will shortly be announced for the PS Plus Instant Game Collection. This honesty makes me much more likely to buy games in the sales as opposed to waiting for them to “maybe” go free on the IGC. Deus ex and possibly Spliter cell for me I think

silent_strike95 10 April, 2013 @ 12:29 pm   46

I may already own Hitman Absolution due to the christmas time sale, but as many others have said that little warning is very welcome. Thanks for that. The little things make all the difference.

Will be very interesting to see if anyone complains about buying it when it was on sale only to get it on PS+. They’ll have no one to blame but themselves!

Hi Jawad,

are the discounts applied yet? I just check Dues-Ex (normal Version) and the price on PSN is £4.7, for PS PLUS while according to your post it should be £4.3???? isn’t it?

King_0_Hell 10 April, 2013 @ 12:31 pm   48

slightly disappointed that Xcom; Enemy Unknown isn’t on that list. Any idea if it’ll be on the EU store soon?

MadMigsRSA 10 April, 2013 @ 12:31 pm   49

@ TINTINTB303
Thanks TINTINTB303, it is weird though, When I checked about 20 minutes ago, that was not listed there at all.
Guess someone at Sony EU read my comment and added it on. lol.

Thanks again TINTINTB303

MadMigsRSA 10 April, 2013 @ 12:33 pm   50

@silent_strike95
That has happened a few times actually. Namely DOA5 and Sleeping Dogs(Bought both on release day).
But this just means I can sell/give away the disc versions and simply use the digital version instead.
