I’m Nick Davies, co-founder at Lucid Games Ltd, and this week we’re delighted to officially launch Episode 1 of Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery – out tomorrow on PlayStation Vita!

We talked a little about the story and our main characters, Jacob and Biggie, in our previous post and today we’re going to give you a little more detail on some of the other characters you’ll meet in Episode 1.

Something strange seems to be going on at Camp Eagle Feather – the counsellors don’t exactly seem like the normal group of sensible, respectable people you’d want in charge of a group of unruly kids, and there seems to be an unhealthy desire to make sure the kids are all well fed.

So who are some of the characters you’ll meet along the way? Well, let’s pick a few out…

Mr Grimmel, head of Physical Education. For someone who appears to have a pathological hatred for kids, working at a Summer Camp doesn’t exactly seem like the perfect job for him, and you should cross him at your peril.

Mr Thagorous, Head of Science. Just what’s going on inside his science laboratory? It all seems a little more dangerous than your usual school chemistry lab.

Mr Thagorous

Mr Hans, Groundsman. He seems friendly enough but he’s obsessed with the Gophers digging up his well-maintained grounds – so obsessed that he’s taken to drastic measures to get rid of them.

Mr Hans

Lunch Lady Mae, Cook. Mae takes the camp motto ‘Feeding the Future’ to extremes, no matter what time of day, there’s always mountains of food coming out of her kitchen, but surely kids are sent to Summer Camp to get some fresh air and exercise, not pig out every day?

And once you’ve got over the counsellors themselves, you’ve got a bunch of unruly camp mates to meet, a Bigfoot to befriend, and then a whole host of creatures out in the forest to help you along the way.

So, just how are you going to work out what’s going on at Eagle Feather? Well, with an inquisitive mind of course. Throughout your adventure you’ll be presented with all manner of puzzles to help you progress your adventure. From logic and lateral thinking, to maths and observation, all of the puzzles you’ll be able to solve interactively using the touchscreen of your PS Vita.

With a sharp mind you’ll be able to work it all out, but we’ve made sure there’s plenty of hints and help to find by exploring the camp.

Launching at the price of €1.99, we think Jacob Jones is great value for money and the perfect title for showing off the power and features of your PS Vita, and we hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
