PS-Store

It’s been another busy month on PS Store, with a number of new releases and sales shaking things up. The big arrival was of course Naughty Dog’s phenomenal The Last of Us, which duly dominated the PS3 top 10. Also making a considerable splash was brutal, bonkers indie rampage Hotline Miami, which debuted at #1 on the PS Vita chart (out-selling the PS3 version). LIMBO (PS Vita), Magic 2014, Jak and Daxter Trilogy and GRID 2 also posted very respectable debuts. See the full lists below!

The Last of Us truly deserved the sales it got. Amazing game.

Isn’t Hotline Miami a crossbuy game? So how would it make more money on the Vita vs PS3? Unless you’re talking about how gamers bought it, i guess. Either way, Hotline is perfect for the Vita.

Correct – the Hotline Miami sales refer to which platform it was originally purchased on.

TONX:
the PS3 download of Hotline Miami was broken for two days or something. We all bought it on the Vita :D

The Last of Us is one the few games where I had to start a second playthrough right after finishing the game. This happens very, very rarely for me. Such an awesome experience, especially on Survivor difficulty.

I am currently playing Hotline Miami on my Vita. Good stuff! I like the Vita version so much more than the original PC version. I think it simply plays better on the Vita. A great indie game in the sea of worthless iOS level trash that’s been flooding in on the Vita lately :/

Please, more quality! Less €3 trash!

The Last of us being number 1 is a no brainer :)
Im proud to have been part of there launch sales figure’s, they deserve every penny (or more) they get for the game.

Hotline Miami was a awesome addition here.

Fred, i think we need some of the older PS Vita games on this chart… Maybe a special or 2 could help? **Hint*Hint** **Wink*Wink**

rothrigousa 9 July, 2013 @ 2:38 pm   6

Having three Crash games in top 10 is a good news.

Please Playstation give us an Crash HD or a new game!!

@Fred

Ill be looking towards it :)
Ive already set some money (that the better half doesnt know about) aside for the summer sale :3

Please can we a Journey sale soon?

vonhammer 9 July, 2013 @ 3:05 pm   9

Good to see The Last of Us digital version up there. I’m glad you set a sensible price and hope it massively outperforms other full retail games that set stupid prices.
I’d then share that data with those third parties and try and make them see sense. I’ll never go digital when pubs think they can charge crazy amounts for digital versions.

Hopefully Hotline sold enough to get a port of Hotline 2, and get release date closer to that of PC version.

Congratulations on Naughty Dog for the Last of Us. I wish I had the money to buy it but who knows it may come to Plus some day like Uncharted 3 did.

*have a Journey sale

sorry :P

@6 @rothrigousa Sony doesn’t have the rights to crash (unfortunately) I’m not even sure they have the rights to make a HD remake.

Two questions:
1. Can you please separate PS1 and PS2 classics into each section or just name them PS Classics and add a PSP section?

2. When are you going to reveal the winners for the Weekend Debate and why didn’t you do the recap?

supersmith2500 9 July, 2013 @ 4:36 pm   14

3. And hate to say this, where is Runner 2 going to be out. It’s like 5 months and still no sign of it.

PHEEliNUX 9 July, 2013 @ 5:12 pm   15

I’m still surprised Persona 4 isn’t in the top 10 for Vita

Nope, don’t see what All the fuss was about, re TLoU, But i was prejudice about IT before buying, Thanks ps store manager and team.. the way you’s moved with such lightning fast reflexes to replace the pre-order bonus versions with standard one, clap…. Now, perhaps you’s can be so efficient in other store matters ?… btw, before i get slated, the standard vers was put up before 9am, (8-30ish, when i tried), obviously with the past pre-order disasters i wanted to be Sure i got my game, unlike a previous experience where i Had to both wait and waste a lot of GB download ‘time’… i got TLoU, a few days after launch, with Both (psn) pre-orders, as most shops i use aren’t as quick as yourselves, in denying a little bonus, or two, as for it, (TLoU), ok, it’s a triple A, can see that.. But am yet to find any real reasons to shout how brilliant it is, aren’t All games ‘supposed’ to be similar quality ?… oh, before i go, That score from Eurogamer 10/10, looks impressive on ‘whats new’ area (xmb), allthough they also awarded Braid a 10/10 score.. moral of my rant (discontent), Be as efficient adding content as you Proved to be in removing it, i guess.

If it only hotline Miami was available in New Zealand, it would be making even more money (on Vita)

quackerzacher 10 July, 2013 @ 5:27 am   18

When you dont bring games like hotline miami to new zealand you lose my money. how about the atelier vita games too.

TheJungler 10 July, 2013 @ 11:56 am   19

Hi Fred,

Can we get an official comment on why The Last of Us is censored in the EU?

And also news on when it will be patched, as I feel aggrieved to have been sold a ‘lite’ version against my knowledge when I’m pretty sure the BBFC has no complaints with gore, so why am I in the UK being discriminated against?
