Wow thanks a lot for the DLC sales sony!

Nightmare966 14 August, 2013 @ 11:04 am   2

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (not available in Italy and Spain)

Just for… 44.99€!? As well.

What in… Please, tell me this is because of Activision :(

Looks like there’s nothing for me yet again :/ At least I can get to save for DOA5:U…

Collection of forgotten and bad games… You must have been working really hard to get those deals :X

littlered786 14 August, 2013 @ 11:07 am   4

No PS Vita?

Curious, why isn’t the R&C Trilogy on sale ? You offered the first one for £4 the other week, and now the second one for £8.. I hate to compare SCEE with SCEA, but they offered the whole trilogy for a mere fiver.. how is it possible you can not do they same, it is a Sony IP after all..

MASPALOMAZ 14 August, 2013 @ 11:08 am   6

Ton of games I am going to have a good time checking the ones I dont know out in the store. Thanks. Riptide seems to be an excellent deal at that price its one of the most fun co-op games (while not perfect) and much better than the hyped Bioshock Infinite.

And then we get some amazing plus games announced this or next week too? I am glad I am with sony europe because the americans have it way worse :D They always complain about the US content :D

littlered786 14 August, 2013 @ 11:09 am   7

Meanwhile the US store gets

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/12/ps-vita-game-sale-celebrates-japanese-developers/

Please tell me, how is this fair?

It’s strange. You hope so much that you’ll find something good to mention about new sale offers, honestly. But then you see the offers and it’s just: Those were in the IGC already, never heard about this one, ugh a game for kids from Disney, oh noes not Worms again. Riptide? Bad reviews and n/a for Germany anyway. Oh Transformers: Fall of Cybertron … eek, 45€ for 1 year old game?! Typical Activision. No Vita, no Vita, no Vita, no …

tl;dr
Same old story. Absolutely NOTHING of interest. :(

@MASPALOMAZ .. I believe we’ll be finding out about next months Plus content next week, but don’t hold me to that lol

I dunno about that, I may find our Plus content excellent and above other regions, however when it comes to sales, SCEA seem to be able to secure much better deals.

Massacre2011 14 August, 2013 @ 11:12 am   10

I want to see The Last of Us make the sale.

It would be great if for the PS4 the US and European markets could be merged much like the current Xbox Live system. I don’t like there being a difference in sales between the two markets sometimes we get it better sometimes worse, why not just offer the same sales and the same PS Plus offerings?

@littlered786

There are more discounts for PSP/Vita games coming up next week according to what Chris said last week.

I have to say that this update seems A LOT better than the first one. Looks really nice, probably going to pick up When Vikings Attack, PixelJunk and a couple of others after I have checked them out first. :)

diogommill 14 August, 2013 @ 11:13 am   13

This summer sale is just sad.

Ry_Ratchet 14 August, 2013 @ 11:14 am   14

That’s disappointing :/

Is something about Jak trilogy or the Wipeout Fury DLC coming next week?

@Chris Howe who is responsible for this terrible selection? Seriously how many time has DE:HR been on sale? I cant remember when was the last time I was happily to buy a game from EU store for full price or at discounted price. #Boothissale

king_Mark_XNIRX 14 August, 2013 @ 11:16 am   16

Any chance of the Metal gear Rising DLC going on sale soon?

Nightmare966 14 August, 2013 @ 11:16 am   17

@Ganth90: Double check: It’s not Human Revolution…

PortalOfGaming 14 August, 2013 @ 11:16 am   18

Nothing for me because I don’t own a PS3, only a PS Vita.

manacartata 14 August, 2013 @ 11:16 am   19

It is safe to buy Riptide? Or there is a chance of getting it for free with PS Plus before the end of this year?

There is a variety of content in the sale, nobody is ever satisfied, they feel entitled to this stuff.

Good sales guys, may pick up a Worms but a question: you hinted last week at a potential Jak Trilogy sale, or at least a Jak game. Any chance of that in the works? Thanks.

MASPALOMAZ 14 August, 2013 @ 11:17 am   21

@ssorc_bro

Yeah but we got good sales in europe too like tomb raider, mgs HD (and being able to buy seperately), uncharted, gta sale, Cod sale, classic sales, plus the americans are going really mad that we get all the great plus titles and they dont.

i agree tho that max payne 3 at 8 or 10 would be great but who knows maybe its planned for plus. I know in USA comments and in europe comments people always complain it seems gamers are never happy and very unhappy people so I just dont wonna join that folks and rather look for what I enjoy like tomb raider, MGS, the great need for speed most wanted and its nfc and dlc sale, etc…

littlered786 14 August, 2013 @ 11:18 am   22

@Sadodee

Thanks, but the Vita should have been included in this sale. The sale you have mentioned above is separate to this and is part of Playstation memories.

Two weeks ago, they included crappy PSP games in the summer sale under the Vita banner. And now they have decided to completely ignore the PS Vita.

RedSquirrel87 14 August, 2013 @ 11:19 am   23

@Chris: any news about a discount (or maybe free for Plus) for Dokuro in the near future? thx

thats a fantastic price for burn zombie burn, snap it up if you dont already have it

No Max Payne 3 sale like the US got? Come on….

Massacre2011 14 August, 2013 @ 11:22 am   26

The Vita has hardly any good games worth buying.

filipinhos 14 August, 2013 @ 11:23 am   27

Any chance to put far cry 3 in the summer sales ? i want so much that game !

X_VIKTOR_X_X_HUN 14 August, 2013 @ 11:24 am   28

CoD seria;Dead Space 3,Ignition,Extraction;The Walking Dead 400 Days;The Last of Us;Crysis 3???

Arkeologen 14 August, 2013 @ 11:24 am   29

This is depressing…

dogwalker4000 14 August, 2013 @ 11:25 am   30

I would also like to know why the Ratchet Trilogy wasn’t on sale as a bundle, could you guys not have had them on sale seperately as well as the bundle?

The only reasons I can guess is that you don’t wanna give us the bundle at too low a price, or maybe a Vita version is coming with cross-buy and those who buy them individually aren’t then included in the free Vita version. Either way it’s not to my liking.

ssorc_bro 14 August, 2013 @ 11:26 am   31

@MASPALOMAZ .. Yeah, not all of our sales are terrible, there are some really good bargains to be had (Tomb Raider being an excellent example), bought a handful of games through sales over the years, but overall, especially the Summer Sale imo, we got the short end of the straw.

But hey, can’t have everything can we, and no matter what, us gamers will always find something to complain about lol :P

Well, I am happy for the sale of Way of the samurai 4. I have been waiting for that one a loooong time.

Any chance of a discount on blast factor?

Vita needs more discounts on games

PIREDERAS 14 August, 2013 @ 11:32 am   35

Come on Chris, no PS Vita games?

And Transformers: Fall of Cybertron for €45?!?! It is indeed a good game, but it was last year’s story, and this offer is way off reason for a year-old title. But then again, we ‘re talking about Activision.

I hate to compare SCEE sales to SCEA’s. Among others, I recently saw Dead or Alive 5+ for Vita on sale for $10 (Plus members). And all we get in Europe is some forgotten games.

miky_magawolaz 14 August, 2013 @ 11:33 am   36

Always the same titles and not a single good deal.

Please take a look at the sales the US PSN team does.

And show some Vita love :|

supersmith2500 14 August, 2013 @ 11:34 am   37

I seriously hate Activision so much, rip off price now still a rip off price on Transformers. Same old games once again some from IGC and some from the previous sales. Another terrible sale. But hey, you know on US’s IGC, they got Munch’s Oddysee and it still has this texture glitch in which JAW are trying to fix so be glad we didn’t get that game and they got Foosball while us got great AAA titles. So yeah get this, we get bad sales, they get bad titles on Plus OF the same genre.

Alphaembryo 14 August, 2013 @ 11:35 am   38

Very bad sale, nothing to see here….

Bahamut_MW 14 August, 2013 @ 11:36 am   39

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/12/ps-vita-game-sale-celebrates-japanese-developers/

I’ll just leave this one here to show how a REAL sale is done…

KureizuPS 14 August, 2013 @ 11:37 am   40

Is this some kind of joke?

I haven’t spent a single penny on this sale! It’s been completely awful, the current US vita sale completely shames this 1, its ridiculous! Oh well at least I get to save my monies :V

Carnivius_Prime 14 August, 2013 @ 11:42 am   42

Ha! £36.99 for Fall of Cybertron? That should have been it’s price when brand new (NO game should cost over £50… hell even £40 really). It’s not even a great game to begin with (marginally better than the godawful War for Cybertron but still pretty poor). Activision are a total joke of a company. Probably the worst big budget company in existence at present thinking they can charge stupid prices for such lacking games.

Anyways I might pick up Baseball Stars 2 as I used to enjoy that in the arcades and it’s now more sensibly priced. I wish there were more Neo Geo games though. What happened? There was a good steady selection of releases for a while and then nothing for ages. Still need Blazing Star, Last Resort, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Last Blade 2, Metal Slug 3, Shock Troopers 2 and so on…

Wow, that US sale looks awesome.

Hutchfull 14 August, 2013 @ 11:44 am   44

the vita/psp sale is next week…

Chris is there any reason why the US and EU has different store content and if any thing is being done to see that we have access to the same games?

daftendirekt 14 August, 2013 @ 11:45 am   45

I’d like to think the store team doesn’t deliberately choose to put so much chaff and repeat items in these sales but it’s becoming clear that either the European publishers don’t afford them the same leeway as they do in the States or the store team don’t have a strong enough business relationship with them. Compare PSP/Vita memories sale we got to the Japanese developers Vita sale in the US and I’m sure even the EU store team would have to concede how weak it makes their sale look. I would have bought 5 or 6 games on that list alone but will be getting nothing from this. The lackluster Vita support is really putting me off getting a PS4 to be honest.

Had to metacritic search most of the games. No wonder I didn’t heard of them, most are crap scores or mobily games. Only Riptide is mildly interesting overall but still too expensive for my likes. Looks like i’ll be keeping it with Ducktales this week.

pinkplaybunny 14 August, 2013 @ 11:46 am   47

I’m mildly curious about Way of the Samurai 4, though I’m not sure if its enough to buy it.. Might be nice to have in the IGC at some point :-)

@Bahamut_MW
Agreed. Couldn’t believe it when I saw that the US received a 40% discount on Muramasa Rebirth. This game hasn’t been released even 2 months ago!
Unimaginable in Europe.

Valis1-cz 14 August, 2013 @ 11:47 am   49

@3 +1

Silent_Gig 14 August, 2013 @ 11:48 am   50

The only thing ive picked up from this sale is Bioshock Infinite and Valkyria Chronicles 2 – other then that the selection have been middling – to low budget titles. Its a shame you didnt snap up that Max Payne 3 sale the US got a few weeks ago.
