Saints Row IV – The Access verdict

Hello PlayStation Blog, how are things? Been looking at any buildings recently and wishing you could sprint up the side of them? No?

Well, you will after playing Saints Row IV, the star of our latest Access Verdict video and a certifiably bonkers open world title that casts you as the President of the United States in an alien-controlled computer simulation. With super powers.

That last bit is important as it completely bins all the conventions of traditional open-world traversal – you can leap over buildings, sprint faster than cars and glide huge distances at super speed.

Everything else is mad of course – this is Saints Row after all – and if you want a first-hand glimpse of what’s in store when Saints Row IV hits UK PS3s on 23rd August, then check out the video – it’s almost as crackers as the game itself.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of our channel at, where next week we’ll have loads of ace videos beamed directly from Gamescom. Don’t miss it!

Did you enjoy this?

So its 30gbp on uk AMAZON which is 35€ yet in psn store its 60€ why? :D

Its the same city just without sun, reused cars, guns, clothes, everything .. At 30€ it might be a buy but i can wait a month i guess to buy it at half price. Oh wait in a month probably all you need in gaming is gta 5 for a while.

I am sure sr4 is a fun game tho :D

@MASPALOMAZ yeh that was suprising it was so cheap and it was the commander and chief edition was a steal in my opinion.
This game is getting really good reviews except the official playstation magazine review that’s was written by a three year old having a tantrum because he completely missed the point and he tore it apart which is a shame.

17 september GTA V, ill pass on Saints Row and get the real deal.

Pass. So bored of all these kinds of games. GTA included…

Had Saints Row 3 not been released I would definitely buy this game as it looks incredible (I’m still thinking of purchasing it for the dubstep gun and superpowers alone), but it looks way too familiar to be a must buy.

ill be renting this from boomerang as everything i have seen of it does just look like saints row 3 with new powers.

cant help thinking this should have stayed as £20 dlc(or standalone) for saints row 3 because its clearly the same game engine as 3.

I never liked this series before the third one, which had way better controlls than the first two. I’ll pick this up at some point.

I wonder if they still have the big floppy johnson bat from SR3 in the Access office. My, how Lucy Porter used to love that thing!!
